The Swiss government says that it supports continuing the “temporary” border checks that have been implemented in the Schengen Area, which would otherwise expire next month. Meanwhile, enough signatures have been gathered on a petition so that a ban on the burka in Switzerland will be put to a national vote.

Forget the Asylum Centers — All Italians Must Take in Migrants

The Italian politician Marco Minniti is a member of the Democratic Party (social democrats) and currently the Minister of the Interior. In the following video Mr. Minniti expresses his desire to get all those hundreds of thousands of migrants out of their massive asylum centers so they can be distributed throughout local communities.

Mr. Minniti does not specify how many migrants he is willing to put up in his own house.

The Truth Versus the OSCE’s Decreed Truth

The following report on last month’s OSCE conference in Warsaw by Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff was published by JournalistenWatch and kindly translated by JLH. See the OSCE Archives for more on the events in Warsaw this year.

The Truth Versus the OSCE’s Decreed Truth

by Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff
September 26, 2017

In the last few days, Europe’s largest and best attended conference on the subject of human rights (“human dimension”) came to an end. There were said to be 1500 attending. The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe invited diplomats and experts, as well as the general public to an annual discussion in Warsaw about observance of human rights standards in the OSCE area. For the first time, the conference took place in Warsaw’s EURO soccer stadium, which was welcome because of the size of the locale and the number of participants.

Our delegation included members from the United States, Denmark and Austria. It is regrettable that many European fighters for freedom of expression couldn’t make up their minds to come to Warsaw. They would have contributed to a stronger presence, which is so important nowadays. For example, a deficit in (allotted) time and personnel prevented mentioning many of the considerable restrictions of freedom of expression in Germany (German justice minister Heiko Maas and his restrictive law passed at the end of June), as well as the many judgments and harassments against alleged cases of “hate speech” or the problems of the AfD in renting locations in the run-up to the election.

Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff at OSCE Warsaw 2017

The first two days were devoted to the official opening, with speeches by politicians, and to freedom of the press and freedom to assemble. Pax Europa spoke first about the scandalous verdict against Michael Stürzenberger and then about the problems of the organizers of the “March for the Family” in Vienna[1]. Neither of these subjects elicited a response from the governments in question.

The sessions on Thursday and Friday were concerned with the subjects of religious freedom as well as tolerance and non-discrimination. Customarily, these subject areas are not only contentious, but also characterized by full lists of speakers. This year, too: Early queuing to get on the speakers list, contentious positions, but also — something new — rebukes from the moderator, referencing OSCE “commitments” that must be adhered to. These rebukes were exclusively directed at our delegation.

An OSCE employee told us personally that our truth was not his truth, nor that of the OSCE. There was no discussion. He noted parenthetically that the OSCE has sought ways to exclude our delegation from participating, but did not succeed because of its own rules concerning civil society.

The decreed truth for the OSCE since 2002 has been that its member states strenuously reject identification of terrorism and extremism with a particular religion. Ergo, there is no discussion and the problem is solved — that is why Europe is incapable of putting a stop to the terrorism coming from just one particular group. The saying goes: Know your enemy. If I cannot name the enemy or investigate it, I cannot expect it to be defeated. We might also ask what would have happened if this kind of law had prevailed in the 1930s.

Migrant Center on Sardinia Bombed

Sardinia is an island (and an Italian province) in the Mediterranean, west of the Italian mainland. Like Corsica (which is a French possession), Sardinia has a long history of resistance against Moorish Muslim invaders. And like the Corsican flag, the Sardinian flag features the severed head of a Moor. Four of them, actually (the flag is known as “The Four Moors [Italian: I quattro mori]); whereas the Corsican version has but one. As if to say: “Four dead Moors are better than one!”

Someone recently set off a bomb on the doorstep of a migrant center in Corsica. During one of the interviews in the video below, you can see a local resident in the background wearing a “Four Moors” t-shirt. I don’t know if it’s significant, but it’s there.

Local authorities in Britain shut down the market stall of a rare book dealer because she was selling mugs decorated with iconography of the Knights Templar. The rationale for the decision was that the Christian symbols on the mugs might upset Muslims.

In other news, German intelligence agencies believe that there are Hamas and Hezbollah fighters in Germany who came in with the migrant influx, and that their numbers have increased in the past year.

Victor Davis Hanson

This is a class on World War II (or the Second World War, if you prefer). It was taught by Victor Davis Hanson, a classics historian who writes extensively about the destruction of his home place in California, a vineyard that’s been in his family for four generations. Sometimes his stories sound like events that could only happen in some dystopian future. But then, California has always bragged that is is the future, so there you go.

The lecture gives me hope because it means that at least at Hillsdale College, history is still being taught. Dr Hanson teaches there in the Fall semester.

No doubt some of our readers will object to his point of view. That’s what makes history interesting, i.e., divergent points of view. I have my own disagreements, but I try not to let perfect be the enemy of good enough. And Hanson is good enough indeed.

Violence and Rape at a Bucharest Asylum Center

The following video and article from July 25th, 2017 describe incidents at an asylum center in the Romanian capital. The translator sends this summary:

The migrant center in Bucharest at that time housed 200 migrants and had two employees per shift. One Afghan migrant attempted to rape an underage Afghan girl; another migrant repeatedly punched and kicked a policeman because the policeman told the migrant he wasn’t allowed to smoke in that area. The two migrants left the center after the event, instead of being held in police custody.

Violence and Attempted Rape at a Migrant Center in Bucharest

Employees complain that they are not sufficiently protected

Big scandal at a migrant center in Bucharest, where migrants arriving in our country with the wave of refugees are being housed. A policeman was attacked by a migrant and went to [get a certificate that he was physically assaulted]. The employees of the migrant center in Sector 2 are frightened, and say they are not sufficiently protected.

Moreover, according to our correspondent, another migrant allegedly tried to rape an underage Afghan girl.

For the time being, the two aggressors are at large.

Diana Sarca, a spokeswoman for the Bucharest Police, said that both the person accused of attempted rape, and the one accused of grave injury, are not in police custody, but that investigations were initiated in this respect.

Ermina Mihai, a spokesperson for the Immigration Inspectorate, said that the two people were staying in an open center, which means they had freedom of movement on Romanian territory.

According to the Immigration Inspectorate, every person housed in the center receives a copy of the rules they must follow. Unfortunately, this does not mean that the employees of the center are safe.

The Fetid Gutter vs. the Ivory Tower

The following video is composed of two separate Italian clips that have been subtitled and juxtaposed.

The first clip shows an interview with several ordinary Italians about the impact of mass immigration from Africa — the filth, disorder, and violence that they are now compelled to encounter on a daily basis.

The second clip shows a conference in an exquisitely appointed convocation room, where well-educated intellectuals discuss the marvelous benefits to Italy of mass immigration — all those hard-working youngsters (mostly males) who will do so much to augment the labor force. Yes, of course…

Which group has a more accurate view of what is happening? You decide.

A young man named Jason Paul Schaefer lit an explosive device in his car after being pulled over by police in the town of Hillsboro, Oregon. The resulting explosion caused Mr. Schaefer to lose several fingers, and possibly his hand. The hearing of a deputy sheriff was damaged in the blast. Police had attempted to stop Mr. Schaefer’s car at the same time as the FBI was searching his apartment as part of an explosives investigation. The suspect led police on a brief chase before he was forced to stop in traffic. He is now under arrest in the hospital.

In other news, a number of people were wounded in a series of shootings in different locations in the Swedish town of Trelleborg.

The Italian Connection

Ahmed Hannachi was the mujahid who claimed his 72 raisins after stabbing two women to death in Marseille on October 1. Investigators have determined that his brother Anis was not only part of the jihad team, but may even have “radicalized” Ahmed. French authorities alerted their Italian counterparts, who arrested Anis in Ferrara.

The following article about the Hannachi brothers was published on Monday in La Stampa. Many thanks to FouseSquawk for the translation:

Marseilles killer’s brother arrested: “He fought in Syria. Expelled by Italy in 2014”

Anis Hannachi, the brother of the killer who stabbed the cousins Laure and Marianne to death at Marseille’s Saint-Charles station, was denied entry by Italy in 2014 when he arrived at Favignana with other Tunisians on a boat. That’s what emerged from the investigation after Hannachi’s arrest. The probable presence of the man in Italy was reported by the French authorities on the evening of October 3 and on the 4th it was confirmed with certainty he was in our country, in Liguria. Hannachi was then arrested on October 7 in Ferrara.

The man had fought among foreign fighters who arrived from around the world in Syria to participate in jihad. This is what the French authorities have communicated to the Italian authorities. The hypothesis of the Transalpine authorities is that it was indeed Anis Hannachi who indoctrinated and provoked the radicalization of his brother Ahmed. Investigators also stressed that at the moment, “there is no evidence” that the arrested man would want to take action in Italy or plan for attacks in our country or that he had “solid support” in Ferrara where he was traced and stopped. Anis was hosted by a fellow countryman who regularly lives in Ferrara and is integrated with the city. In the same apartment were four or five boys, all fellow countrymen. Some are students.

Anis was not known to the Italian authorities as a radicalized subject: police data banks had only the photos from 2014, when he was then expelled and sent back to Tunisia. “It was French colleagues,” explained Lamberto Giannini, the Director of Police Anti-terrorism, “reporting him as a jihad fighter in the Syrian-Iraqi context.” In the ranks of jihadists, along with thousands of foreign fighters, Anis would have been active for at least two years, from 2014 to 2016.

DIGOS (Divisione Investigazioni Generali e Operazioni Speciali, General Investigations and Special Operations Division) in Bologna and Ferrara yesterday executed a European arrest warrant issued by French authorities. The allegation hypothesized by the Transalpine investigators against the 25-year-old Tunisian who, immediately after being arrested, was made available to the Attorney General at the Bologna Court of Appeal, is participating in a terrorist association and complicity in the crime committed by his brother. But not only that: Anis may have played a role in organizing what happened in Marseilles, even though, as it has been possible to reconstruct at the moment, he would not have been present in the second French city on the day of the attack.

The Bulgarian-Turkish Border is Porous — When the Price is Right

The following investigative report from BTV reveals the extensive police corruption that allows people-traffickers to ply their lucrative trade across the border between Turkey and Bulgarian. Ladders to scale the fence, holes cut in places where the sensors don’t work, and even a ride through a checkpoint in a border police vehicle — these are some of the methods used to get illegal immigrants across the border, at a rate of €800-€1,000 per head.
