Gianluca Buonanno: Let’s Teach Refugees to Fight for Their Countries

In the following video the late Gianluca Buonanno, an Italian politician for the Lega Nord, urges that “refugees” be trained to fight and then sent home to defend their war-torn countries.

Video transcript:

00:00   Today, I would like share my experience as the mayor of an Italian city…
00:07   Refugees… illegal aliens, whatever you want to call them, came to my town also,
00:12   and not one of them is fleeing war. They’re from countries that aren’t at war.
00:16   This is to say that there are different situations…
00:19   Anyway, I wanted to propose something, since we have two very important representatives right here
00:24   who decide Europe’s future. Europe, like every other continent, has fathers,
00:28   grandfathers, great-grandfathers who fought to gain its freedom.
00:34   Meanwhile we’re seeing many people, especially men,
00:37   fleeing so-called “wars” and coming to Europe.
00:42   I think it’s right to help women and children…
00:45   but why not train these men speedily on how to fight,
00:48   and then take them back to their native lands
00:51   so that they can fight for their own lands and territory and help set their countries straight?
00:59   I’m saying: let’s train them and then send them back to their countries
01:03   to fight for their territories and for their own liberty.

  1. Well they obviously don’t fit in with Assad or Islamic State, once trained are they going to sneak into Syria along no-mans land… or is it that the FSA needs more troops…regime change not going to plan?

  2. My Israeli friend, an IDF veteran of the fighting of 1967 and 1973, said the Arab Muslim soldiers he faced were good for one early push. When they thought they possessed an overwhelming advantage [ and faced minimal risk ], scattered displays of military gallantry were common. But when they met with determined resistance, their courage left them, and then they ran. No orderly withdrawals, with suicide troops delaying the enemy advance. Just wild-eyed deserters, in a panicked route, throwing down their weapons and hoofing it.

  3. I disagree with two points.

It is unethical to train foreigners to fight and send them back. We have no idea if they are going to institute an ethical regime or join a band of criminals or terrorists. Send them back, yes. Train them to fight, no. Let whatever cause they wish to fight in train them. If they have no wish to fight, let them stay wherever they can.

Also, there is no obligation to help women and children of another country. The women will have more baby refugees and the children will grow to become partisan fighters or worthless immigrants. Here’s a new principle: allow peoples to take care of themselves; don’t foist governments, culture, or ethics on them. If you have to use their territory, take it over, lock, stock and barrel, and live there yourselves. Let them live under your authority or move to reservations.
