Gates of Vienna News Feed 12/31/2015

Well, New Year’s Eve went off without any terrorist attacks (so far — Chicago and L.A. are still counting down as I write this). The Munich threat didn’t materialize, and the Dubai skyscraper fire seems to be the worst incident — a terror attack by Amish extremists, according to some sources.

Happy new year, everybody!

In other news, German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s new year’s address is being made available with Arabic subtitles, thanks to a new smartphone app.

Terror Alert in Munich

Two train stations in Munich were shut down just before midnight tonight after police issued a warning of an imminent threat (tweet by the Munich police [in German]).

According to the Associated Press:

Police in Munich Warn of ‘Imminent Threat’ of Terror Attack

BERLIN (AP) — Police in Munich warned of “serious, imminent threat” of a terror attack late Thursday and asked people to stay away from the city’s main train station and a second train station in the city’s Pasing neighborhood.

In a statement posted on Facebook, police said that according to “serious information, there could be an attack tonight.”

The warning came about an hour before the city rang in the new year.

Police said they had received two different, “concrete” tips but did not elaborate on the nature of the threat or who had warned them.

From ABC News:

Munich Train Stations Evacuated After Possible Terror Threat

Police in Munich evacuated two train stations in the city after getting word of a possible terror attack.

Officials said they got hints of a possible bomb attack, specifically in the main Munich train station and the Pasing station, a police spokeswoman told ABC News.

Both train stations has been evacuated, police said.

Officers who were off duty for New Years went into work and are now performing sweeps of the stations. Police have not yet found anything suspicious, they said.

Police are asking people to avoid crowds, public transportation and train stations.

As of this writing, there have been no reports of any incidents in Munich since the stations were evacuated. That could mean (a) the threat was a false alarm, (b) the terrorists called it off when they saw the buildings evacuated, or (c) the incident was a probe.

Here’s how a probe might work. Let’s say you’re Ahmed the ISIS terrorist, the head of a terror cell in Munich. You know you’ve got a snitch in your operation who feeds information to the cops, so you whisper a little disinformation to him — you tell him the mujahideen are going to ventilate the kuffar at the Hauptbahnhof and the Pasing station on New Year’s Eve. Then you send out operatives to watch the response of the authorities:

  • How many cops/soldiers are deployed?
  • What types (federal, local, special security, etc.)?
  • What equipment do they have? What weapons?
  • Where do they set up their command and control nodes?
  • Where do they evacuate civilians to — all in one place? Or are they just sent out the doors into the street?

That tells you what you need to know when you’re ready for a real operation. One small bomb in the Hauptbahnhof, and then specially targeted follow-up attacks timed for the right moment and designed to do the maximum damage to the security forces, kill lots of civilians, and create mass terror.

Resisting the Cultural Enrichment of Corsica

The recent outburst of “Islamophobia” in Corsica brings to mind what Kepiblanc wrote back in 2006 about the fierce patriotic spirit exhibited by Corsicans:

The Corsicans are a proud and independent people, so they fly their flag everywhere, be it on buildings, ferries, sports facilities and even Coca-Cola cans. But this flag isn’t the “Drapeau Tricolore”, it is something very different, indeed: A decapitated (!) black head on a white backdrop.

The history behind this unusual symbol goes something like this: All throughout its history Corsica has been plagued by Muslim pirates, mainly the Moors. Hence the local saying: “Nothing good comes from the ocean”. So in order to defend themselves they built watchtowers all along their island’s vast beaches (the concept was later copied by the Irish) and erected spikes with cut-off Moorish heads in order to deter the enemy. Sometimes they paraded those spikes around the island, and the idea had the desired effect: Although surrounded by hostility on all sides — African Barbaristans to the South and Dhimmi-nations to the East (Italy), North (France) and West (El-Andalus) — Corsica is Muslim-free territory, even today (Please don’t tell the EU).

Alas, in the past nine years the town of Ajaccio on Corsica seems to have acquired its share of cultural enrichment, just like mainland France and the rest of Europe. Enough so that it has its own enriched no-go zones, joining the ranks of Paris, Berlin, Brussels, Malmö, and other prominent European cities. The “youths” of Ajaccio decided to attack some firemen on Christmas Eve, but the native inhabitants did not take kindly to this display of exuberant diversity.

Rotherham: The Perfect Storm

The following report by Anne Marie Waters examines the “grooming” phenomenon — actually, the sexual enslavement of underage girls by Muslim men— that has been making headlines in the UK for the past few years. In addition to the obstruction and obfuscation displayed by public officials and the police, much of the meaningful data on these crimes is either uncollated or altogether absent.

This report was published previously in a slightly different form on the author’s website.

Rotherham: The Perfect Storm

An investigation in to Muslim grooming gangs

by Anne Marie Waters

Introduction

I did not intend to publish this, as I could not complete the work I had set out to do, but I have decided instead to write a personal account of an attempt I made to find out how many girls have been groomed, gang-raped, and prostituted by organised gangs in England over the last five years. I do it obviously not to provide ground-breaking statistics — but to contribute to the national discussion on the phenomenon of so-called “Asian” grooming gangs that has been taking place since the publication of the Jay Report on widespread sexual abuse, gang-rape, and torture of at least 1,400 young girls in the town of Rotherham in Yorkshire.

The first thing to report is that this figure is simply not obtainable by a member of the public, at least not if you hope to be in any way close to accurate. I am not the first to undertake this effort. A similar attempt was made by the office of the Children’s Commissioner in 2012. That investigation also concluded that an accurate figure could not be obtained.

However, in investigating the matter myself, I found widespread and continuing (despite the Jay Report) lack of any coherent recording of or response to organised gang-rape. What stands out particularly is the lack of data held by local authorities, who in almost all cases kept no numeric data on children under their care who have reported sexual assault or rape. In almost all cases I was informed that this information could not be provided as it would take authority staff outside of the 18 hour working time they are obliged to perform on freedom of information requests. The reason it would take longer than 18 hours to provide the data, is that it would entail reading separately through the individual files of all children in their care. In other words, even post-Rotherham, most councils are not attempting to separately record sexual assaults on children under their care, or to paint a broader picture of the problem.

Police records present the same problems. Recording of ethnicity or nationality is widely inconsistent; in many cases the ethnicity of the alleged offender is not recorded, and it is not recorded for victims at all. It is impossible therefore to know just how often this happens, or how many times it has happened.

What we do know is that some police officers and public sector workers have publicly stated that this child grooming by Muslim men has been occurring for decades, and with almost complete impunity. The reasons for this I intend to explore.

My guess is that some justification for the fact that the ethnic identity of alleged offenders is not recorded is that many in the public sector believe it to be irrelevant. Religion of offenders is not recorded, again I suspect because of an underlying and cultural view within the public sector that religion is irrelevant as well. The question I ask here is: What if it isn’t? What if religion has played a part in fostering attitudes to women, white women in particular, that increase the likelihood of pre-meditated, repeated, and organised gang-rape? This question has not been asked, and is not being asked, in the public domain. I think this is a mistake.

What has been widely discussed however, by the media and others in public life, is the culture of fear that pervades public services and has almost certainly prevented thorough investigation and prevention of these crimes — the fear of racism or “Islamophobia” accusations. In the course of this investigation, I found that fear to be palpable. People simply do not want to discuss this issue. They most certainly don’t want to discuss any ethnic or religious element. This, it seems, has not changed since the Jay Report.

Britain is not the only country to suffer this phenomenon. Scandinavian countries have seen large increases in rape figures in recent decades. Sweden is now the rape capital of the Western world, and Norway has seen a disturbing rise in violent rape. In very many cases, the perpetrators have been migrants from Muslim-majority countries. Despite a clear pattern involving Muslim men, Western countries are failing to ask why. By contrast in fact, media and political leaders place much emphasis on ignoring the religious identity of the men altogether, and instead have taken to labelling them “Asian”. This, I would submit, is yet another mistake. It deliberately prevents us from forming a complete picture of the problem, and thus how to prevent it from recurring.

I discovered that little has changed in this regard. Despite testimony from public sector workers and police that fear of racism or “Islamophobia” accusations actively prevented people from confronting this issue, the same fear is rife today. Even formal reports into the matter, including Parliamentary inquiries, often only mention the issue of ethnicity in order to discount it as insignificant. Religion is scarcely mentioned at all.

The horrific crime that took place in Rotherham and elsewhere occurred, and is still occurring according to women I have spoken to, for a number of reasons. The most significant I believe to be these:

  • A crippling fear of accusations of racism and the racialising and politicising of policing and law enforcement
  • A disorganised social service with little accountability
  • A bloated bureaucracy which appears to believe that the solution to issues of all kinds is discussion rather than action
  • A disregard for individual and personal responsibility and a distaste for criminal punishment — simple enforcement of rape laws was not widely viewed as the most appropriate course of action
  • Insular Muslim communities which regard the law of the land as none of their concern, and regard themselves as self-policing
  • An appalling attitude towards women, especially white women, that is extensive throughout minority communities in Britain. This attitude towards women is enforced and legitimised by clerics and so-called “community leaders”
  • An insidious multiculturalism and pervading anti-white racism which separates racial groups and applies the law without consistency — often with white people suffering more severe punishment
  • The policing of language via so-called “hate speech” laws. These laws can be vague and therefore inevitably cause confusion among police and public sector workers as to what is or is not permitted.

The combination of all of the above created the perfect storm in Rotherham, and was the soil from which mass rape would grow. It is a soil that is been spread all over England.

I will begin with my freedom of information requests.

Police

I sent the following Freedom of Information request to every police force in England:

The Islamic State has issued new regulations, in the form of a fatwa, containing protocols concerning the raping of sex-slaves. Among other things, the rules forbid raping pregnant or menstruating women. They also detail the procedures to be followed when a slave that has two or more owners is to be sold.

In other news, the Norwegian government is tightening its rules on asylum seekers, and will turn back those who have no visas. The new policy is particularly aimed at “refugees” crossing the border from Sweden.

HR 569: CAIR’s Standard Operating Procedure

Our Washington D.C. correspondent Frontinus sends this report on proposed House Resolution 569, “Condemning violence, bigotry, and hateful rhetoric towards Muslims in the United States”, which is now before the U.S. Congress with 82 co-sponsors (all Democrats).

HR 569: CAIR’s Standard Operating Procedure
by Frontinus

Your American readers who aren’t aware of HR569 probably should be, and your European and Canadian readers may be interested to learn just how successful the Muslim Brotherhood has been in its penetration of the U.S. government, and how close we are to seeing the full implementation of U.N. Resolution 16/18 in this country.

This resolution won’t pass, of course, but that isn’t what’s significant about of it. What’s important is the process that is now underway in Washington D.C., of which HR 569 is just a small part.

First, take a look at the text of HR 569:

Condemning violence, bigotry, and hateful rhetoric towards Muslims in the United States.

Whereas the victims of anti-Muslim hate crimes and rhetoric have faced physical, verbal, and emotional abuse because they were Muslim or believed to be Muslim;

Whereas the constitutional right to freedom of religious practice is a cherished United States value and violence or hate speech towards any United States community based on faith is in contravention of the Nation’s founding principles;

Whereas there are millions of Muslims in the United States, a community made up of many diverse beliefs and cultures, and both immigrants and native-born citizens;

Whereas this Muslim community is recognized as having made innumerable contributions to the cultural and economic fabric and well-being of United States society;

Whereas hateful and intolerant acts against Muslims are contrary to the United States values of acceptance, welcoming, and fellowship with those of all faiths, beliefs, and cultures;

Whereas these acts affect not only the individual victims but also their families, communities, and the entire group whose faith or beliefs were the motivation for the act;

Whereas Muslim women who wear hijabs, headscarves, or other religious articles of clothing have been disproportionately targeted because of their religious clothing, articles, or observances; and

Whereas the rise of hateful and anti-Muslim speech, violence, and cultural ignorance plays into the false narrative spread by terrorist groups of Western hatred of Islam, and can encourage certain individuals to react in extreme and violent ways: Now, therefore, be it

Resolved, That the House of Representatives—

(1)   expresses its condolences for the victims of anti-Muslim hate crimes;
(2)   steadfastly confirms its dedication to the rights and dignity of all its citizens of all faiths, beliefs, and cultures;
(3)   denounces in the strongest terms the increase of hate speech, intimidation, violence, vandalism, arson, and other hate crimes targeted against mosques, Muslims, or those perceived to be Muslim;
(4)   recognizes that the United States Muslim community has made countless positive contributions to United States society;
(5)   declares that the civil rights and civil liberties of all United States citizens, including Muslims in the United States, should be protected and preserved;
(6)   urges local and Federal law enforcement authorities to work to prevent hate crimes; and to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law those perpetrators of hate crimes; and
(7)   reaffirms the inalienable right of every citizen to live without fear and intimidation, and to practice their freedom of faith.

Once again, this will not pass. However, the fact that 82 Democrats have co-sponsored it will be used to validate the Muslim Brotherhood (CAIR, ISNA, MPAC, etc. etc.) claim that hate crimes have increased (and of course they haven’t for Muslims, although they may have increased against Jews in America, who are historically identified in FBI statistics as victimized in hate crimes five to ten times more frequently than Muslims in America).

This is the usual modus operandi used by the Ikhwan, and it’s a consistent systems approach. (As indeed is the entire jihad-dawa approach to supremacism a systems approach. I recommend Jasser Auda’s text Maqasid Al-Shariah as Philosophy of Islamic Law: A Systems Approach — it’s light on the jihad doctrine, but gets to the broader implications of Shariah as a closed system with open-ended ambitions.)

Corsicans Strike Back Against Muslim No-Go Zones

The following video reports and articles concern a situation that is very familiar to those who live in or near culturally-enriched areas of northern Europe, such as the Swedish city of Malmö. Firemen or other emergency personnel are called to an immigrant neighborhood, where they are met with a hail of stones, bricks, bottles, and fireworks. Nowadays the fire brigade in Malmö won’t enter these enriched areas without a police escort.

The same situation arose in the Corsican town of Ajaccio on Christmas Eve, when residents of a Muslim neighborhood attacked firemen responding to an emergency call. The difference between Malmö and Ajaccio, however, is that an immediate, spontaneous resistance formed and fought back against the Muslims. Perhaps there is a strong collective memory in these southern regions of centuries of Islamic occupation and oppression. In any case, a crowd of locals not only took to the streets in protest, they went into the no-go zone and trashed a mosque.

The first video is from RT. Many thanks to Anon for the translation, and to Vlad Tepes for the subtitling:

The second video is from BFMTV. Many thanks to Sassy for the translation, and to Vlad Tepes for the subtitling:

The MSM reports are notable for their equal emphasis on condemning the Corsican demonstrators at least as much as the Muslims who created the no-go zone and attacked the firemen. When quoted, all public officials above the most local levels have been careful to express their outrage about the “profanation of a Muslim place of prayer”.

Below are excerpts from articles on the violent incidents and protests in Corsica. First, from Fox News, December 25:

Corsica Violence Leaves Firefighters Injured, Muslim Prayer Hall Damaged

A crowd vandalized a Muslim prayer room in Corsica a day after an ambush left firefighters injured on the French island.

The region’s top police official was on the tense scene at a housing project Friday evening.

The violence began Thursday night, when firefighters responding to an emergency call were ambushed in Ajaccio, according to the local France 3 television. On Friday a gathering that started as a show of support for the injured emergency officials turned violent, and some in the crowd vandalized a prayer room. France 3 reported new police reinforcements at other prayer rooms.

France’s prime minister, Manuel Valls, called Friday for respect for French law after “the intolerable aggression toward firefighters and unacceptable profanation of a Muslim place of prayer.”

From The Guardian, December 26:

Muslim Prayer Room Vandalised in Corsica After Attack on Firefighters

A crowd vandalised a Muslim prayer room in Corsica a day after an ambush injured two firefighters responding to an emergency in a housing project, the state prefect on the French island has said.

Prefect Christophe Mirmand said police reinforcements from mainland France were being called into the Corsican capital of Ajaccio, and prayer rooms and mosques were being guarded.

Tensions were high on the Mediterranean island. The violence began on Thursday night, when firefighters responding to an emergency call were ambushed in a housing project in the hills of Ajaccio. It was not clear what prompted that violence.

On Friday, a gathering of about 600 people that started as a show of support for the injured emergency officials led to more violence when several dozen people broke away and headed to the prayer room. There, they threw objects and tried to burn Qur’ans and prayer books, officials said. They also vandalised a kebab shop.

France’s prime minister, Manuel Valls, called for respect for French law after “the intolerable aggression toward firefighters and unacceptable profanation of a Muslim place of prayer”.

From The Local, December 26:

Corsica Protesters Trash Muslim Prayer Room

Demonstrators ransacked a Muslim prayer hall and set fire to copies of the Koran on the French island of Corsica on Friday, police said, in an attack condemned by the government.

The violence came on Christmas day amid heightened security measures for the holiday, and nationwide fears after the November 13 attacks in Paris by jihadists that killed 130 people.

French Prime Minister Manuel Valls wrote on Twitter that the break-in in the city of Ajaccio was “an unacceptable desecration”.

Tensions had mounted in Ajaccio Friday after two firefighters and a police officer were injured overnight in a low-income neighbourhood of the city when they were “ambushed” by “several hooded youths”, authorities said.

From The Daily Mail, December 26:

Muslim Prayer Hall is Ransacked by Koran-Burning Demonstrators Chanting ‘Arabs Get Out’ On the French Island of Corsica

Up to 600 French protesters desecrated a Muslim prayer hall in Corsica in a revenge attack prompted by the wounding of two firefighters and a police officer.

The furious mob smashed the prayer hall’s glass door, ransacked the interior and left around 50 partially-burned Korans littering the street overnight.

Chanting ‘Arabs get out!’ and ‘This is our home’, protesters marched through the streets of the French Mediterranean island’s capital, Ajaccio.

French Prime Minister Manuel Valls described the attack on Twitter as ‘an unacceptable desecration’, and branded the violence towards the firefighters as an ‘intolerable attack’.

The violence began on the night of December 24, when two firefighters were ‘ambushed’ by ‘several hooded youths’ in the low-income neighbourhood of Jardins de L’Empereur.

It escalated when several hundred people gathered in front of police headquarters in the capital city, before marching through the streets to the housing estate where the attack on the firefighters took place.

They then launched the violent assault on the local prayer room.

Interior Minister Bernard Cazaneuve insisted the perpetrators of both incidents would be tracked down and arrested, adding that there was no place for ‘racism and xenophobia’ in France.

Opinion Terrorism in Austria

The original source of the following interview was www.info-direkt.eu. It was translated from German into Dutch by E.J. Bron, and has been translated from the Dutch for Gates of Vienna by El Rubio.

The translator includes this introductory note:

This is an eye-opening interview that Dr. Eva Barki gave to the Hungarian news site “Magyar Idok”. I find it very interesting, as it shows the European mindset on the whole migration mess, and why they have so much trouble dealing with it.

The translated interview:

Dr. Eva Maria Barki: Opinion terrorism in Austria

The Dublin III convention and the Schengen system are dead, and the refugee convention of Geneva should be scrapped — so declares the Viennese lawyer Dr. Eva Maria Barki to “Magyar Idok”. The specialist in the field of populations’ and refugees’ rights sees it as an urgent problem that at this time a deliberately planned and well-coordinated invasion is taking place, and that one may count on 950 million people coming to Europe between now until 2050.

Europe does not have a ready answer to this challenge. Angela Merkel and Jean-Claude Juncker only entertain opinions that are dictated by Washington. Mrs. Barki emphasizes that in Austria there is much evidence of opinion terrorism: it is forbidden to have an opinion against migration. Those who nevertheless do so seriously risk losing their job.

You were born in Austria, but maintain close contacts with Hungary. What is the origin of those close contacts?

My father was Hungarian. He died when I was only six months old. But I received a Hungarian education, even though I spoke German with my mother. As an only child of Hungarian descent, I was much interested in Hungarian history at school, and discussed the topic a lot with my history teachers. When I became a lawyer, I was the only one in Vienna who spoke Hungarian, and was therefore able to represent many of my countrymen juridically.

You are a specialist in the area of populations’ and refugees’ rights. During your participation in international forums and international organizations you often are against the mainstream and for Hungarian interests. Where does this passion come from?

I don’t just defend Hungarian interests, but mostly what is the truth. I also stand up for other populations.

You have focussed for decades on the migration question: who is according to your terminology a refugee, and who an economic migrant?

Wars, civil wars, and other war activities, armed conflicts and armed rival clan activities are no reasons for asylum. This only exists when there is individual persecution, meaning a case of individual political persecution. That is why, according to the refugee convention, not even 3% of the arriving migrants would qualify as refugees with the right to obtain long term residency. Besides that, it is utterly questionable that the majority of these people want to reach the richest countries of Europe only, when a true refugee, who fears for his life, should be happy to reside in any country in which he feels safe.

But in Europe there is Angela Merkel…

Regrettably, she is the undertaker of Europe. She purposefully invites migrants and destroys not only Germany, but also Europe.

How many migrants can we expect?

Heresy

Update: Due to some sort of file error, the last portion of MC’s essay was missing from the source document I used. The complete text has now been restored below.

Rounding off a series that included Human Sacrifice and Blasphemy, our Israeli correspondent MC tackles the notion of Heresy as it is understood in a West dominated by uniform Leftist politics.

Heresy
by MC

‘Left’ and ‘right’ are not good terms for the description of political flavor. The right essentially no longer exists; it is almost always referred to as ‘far right’ a term which was originally coined to describe the National Socialist (Nazi) party by the left. The left won the ‘culture battle’ and positioned themselves at the peak of the moral high ground (as defined by themselves) and thus destroyed the right.

So we have a situation where socialism = ‘good’ and conservatism = ‘far right’ = bad.

Thus there is no right. Collectivism, either in the form of Socialism or National Socialism, is the only choice allowed, and this has been the case since World War Two (with notable exceptions).

With the advent of the universal franchise (one person one vote), government became a matter of fashion rather than informed choice. Given the universal appeal of television, leftist virtual signaling became a necessary feature in programming aimed at the TV-watching classes. To be credible, one had to keep the PC rules — heresy was (and still is) simply not acceptable.

Heresy is deviation from dogma, usually religious dogma. In the past it often carried a death sentence, specifically burning at the stake or some other equally cruel and barbaric ritual slaughter. This is particularly true of Islam, and now we see videos of religious executions for the crime of heresy every bit as barbaric as those of history.

But heresy can also be a deviation from political doctrine, and the execution of Trotsky by an ice axe in the brain was a particularly brutal example of the premeditated act of extreme cruelty as a punishment for political heresy. And yes, whilst Stalin was probably afflicted with an extreme form of paranoia, few of his worldwide sycophants stopped to think through the implications of this act, and of how a nut case such as Stalin was able to gain absolute power….

Or was it Mao, or Hitler, or Pol Pot or Ho Chi Minh?
