The Coming Bleak Midwinter in Germany

Many thanks to Hellequin GB for translating this article from Die Welt. The translator’s comments are in square brackets:

“In three months people will no longer be able to pay their bills”

At a specialist congress in Berlin, the head of the Federal Network Agency, Klaus Müller, painted a gloomy picture of the coming winter period because of the gas bottleneck. He also predicts a new north-south divide in Germany.

Despite the high summer temperatures, Klaus Müller, head of the Federal Network Agency, never tires of talking about the coming winter. He knows that he is a “party killer”. But he is already prophesying that in the coming heating season we will hear about the terrible individual fates of many people who can no longer pay their bills due to the high gas prices.

Müller appealed to people to use the summer to prepare for the heating season, which begins in three months. For example, every second gas boiler in Germany is incorrectly set and thus works inefficiently and is harmful to the climate. [Ah, yes, it’s manmade global warming again, a dead horse they cannot give up on flogging desperately back to life.]

Müller also sharply criticized the German energy policy of recent years. It is “difficult to understand” that the country in Europe, which except for Italy is most heavily dependent on gas and gas imports and has built its prosperity on inexpensive fossil gas, has “not in any way” thought about its security of supply. Unlike oil or coal, gas is dependent on the pipeline networks.

Gas storage facilities were “cheerfully” sold to Russian owners and made “extremely” dependent on Nord Stream 1. In this context, he does not want to talk about Nord Stream 2 and the lack of liquid gas terminals. The fact that gas-fired power plants now have to be replaced by coal-fired power plants is not good in terms of climate policy, but there is currently no alternative. [Is someone ranting against GLOBALISM here, the Golden Calf of the elites? Wow!]

On Tuesday, Müller sat on the podium at the Berlin specialist congress for “Fortified Democracy” on the subject of “Supply security: prosperity and values on the brink?” [And who’s responsible for that? Who crafted those policies that made this possible?] Wolfgang Bosbach (CDU), Susanne Mittag (SPD) and Bernhard Krüsken from the German Farmers’ Association discussed the current gas crisis with him.

Despite greatly reduced deliveries from Russia, Germany’s gas storage facilities have recently become somewhat full again. As emerged from the website of Europe’s gas infrastructure operator (GIE) on Monday evening, the storage facilities were 60.26 percent full.

Müller said that was about eight percentage points better than last year. But that is also because the past year was one of the worst in German gas storage history. Given current developments, that is not good enough.

Gas storage compensates for fluctuations

The federal government’s goal is to fill the storage tanks to at least 90 percent by the beginning of November. It is questionable whether this will succeed, in view of the restricted deliveries and the threat of a complete stop to gas from Russia.

Gas storage facilities compensate for fluctuations in gas consumption. As a kind of buffer system, they are important for the energy market. However, their importance is limited. Because even if the gas storage tanks were completely filled, their quantities would by no means be sufficient for the entire heating period.

According to estimates by the Federal Network Agency, the gas storage facilities would only last two and a half months in an average winter to cover demand even without Russian gas. Germany is therefore desperately looking for other import options, such as liquid gas deliveries via floating terminals on the North Sea coast.

New north-south gradient

The federal government has chartered four of them. Müller expects that two of the four terminals can be landed on the North Sea coast this winter. Work is currently being done to ensure that these terminals can be connected to the German gas network at “Tesla speed”. [Tesla Speed? Well, by that time the Germans will have either frozen to death or rebelled against the Green menace.]

Müller expects that there will be a new north-south divide in Germany in the future. In the future, gas will come from Norway via Holland and Belgium. Müller said that he is currently having many “tense” discussions with politicians and industrial companies from Baden-Württemberg, Hesse, Bavaria and Saxony. “Because gas is a raw material that flows. It is not available everywhere at all times,” explained Müller.

This is nothing less than a “fundamental reversal” of the flow of raw materials in Germany, which will lead to very intensive debates. Something is changing for some, including those who “have been very splayed and self-confident in recent years because they lived in a very favorable geographical location”.

Müller also announced that the Federal Network Agency wants to let the market rule as much as possible. The industry still knows best where it uses gas or not.

Afterword from the translator:

It has to be said that the German government handles everything wonderfully. Because it always depends on what goals you want to achieve, doesn’t it?

Read with the voice of Joseph Goebbels in your head; “Are you prepared to throw yourselves heroically into the sanctions fight against evil Putin, Russia and Climate Change, with courage and the willingness to suffer?” and the Left/Green supporters are shouting hysterically — YESSSS!

The problem is not that many can no longer pay their bills or are freezing and/or starving. The problem is, if someone in Berlin doesn’t take countermeasures against the insanity as soon as possible, then the “lights “ will go out in Germany in the truest sense of the word, and the darkness and cold will probably be the smallest of their problems, because their “guests” will not be pleased, and will take what they deem belongs to them.

Germany, and the West in general, is WEF’d (World Economically F**ked).

The Mysterious Death of Lars Vilks

Lars Vilks was a Swedish artist who became world-famous (and earned a death fatwa from Al Qaeda) by a drawing a series of pictures of the Prophet as a Roundabout Dog.

As I reported at the time, in October of last year Mr. Vilks was killed in an explosive car crash in which his vehicle, driven by the police (the two officers also died), was traveling at an excessive speed. The circumstances of his death seem peculiar, but I doubt we’ll ever learn for certain whether anything untoward occurred that day.

The latest wrinkle in the story of Lars Vilks’ death is a new report that a sound like that of gunshots can be heard in the audio of a nearby security camera that was recording at the time of the accident.

Many thanks to Gary Fouse for translating this article from Dagens Juridik:

Mysterious bangs seconds before Vilks’ fatal crash — Listen to the clip

June 27, 2022

In the vicinity of the location where Lars Vilks and two policemen fatally crashed, there is a villa with a security camera. In the audio of the security camera, which Dagens Juridik has gained access to, just before the crash two bangs in rapid succession are heard.

Then there is silence for five seconds before a third bang is heard. It sounds like shots.

“We don’t know what the sound is, but (we) have discounted shots because we found no trace of that in the vehicle,” says chief prosecutor Per Nichols.

It was in the afternoon of October 3 of last year. Artist Lars Vilks was with his police bodyguards en route from Stockholm to Skåne. They were riding in two Range Rover Sentinels, specially-built cars weighing over four tons.

In the first car was riding Lars Vilks, who was in the back seat and two policemen were in front. At 15:22 the first alarm about the crash came to 112.

The car in which Vilks was riding had crossed to the wrong side of E4 just north of the South Markryd junction and collided with a truck. The car “was wedged” under the truck, and a large fire broke out.

Vilks and policemen died

All three in the car died and were dead when the first rescue vehicle arrived. The driver of the truck was seriously injured but survived.

The EU’s Natural Gas Conundrum

The coming winter looks to be a difficult one in Central and Northern Europe due an acute shortage of natural gas. The only feasible solution would be for the EU to scrap its sanctions against Russia, but that’s unlikely to happen. I don’t think the continent has enough idled coal-fired power plants that could be restarted on short notice to make up the deficit.

Many thanks to Hellequin GB for translating this article from Anti-Spiegel. The translator’s comments are in square brackets:

As reported in Russia about the worsening of the gas crisis

Europe has a home-grown gas problem as Western sanctions prevent maintenance of Nord Stream 1, causing gas supplies from Russia to fall by half.

German media blame Russia for the sharp drop in gas supplies via Nord Stream 1, and Economics Minister Habeck alleges political calculations. With this, Habeck and the German media are lying to the Germans, because the first reports about the decline in gas supplies, for example, Der Spiegel, clearly said that there was a simple reason for the decline: Siemens, which is responsible for the maintenance of the turbines of the pipeline, cannot bring the turbines back to Russia after their overhaul due to Western sanctions. I reported about it; more details may be found here.

But of course the German public shouldn’t know that this gas supply problem was also created by the West itself, so you just lie to the people and simply blame Russia. This was also the subject of the weekly news review on Russian TV, and I have translated the Russian report.

Start of translation:

Europe is trying in panic to circumvent the sanctions

Gas prices on the European exchanges have again exceeded the mark of $1,500 per thousand cubic meters. The surge began after Gazprom reduced its deliveries through Nord Stream 1 to Europe to 67 from 167 million cubic meters per day. There is an objective reason for this. There is no Russian malice in it. Siemens, a German company that has a maintenance contract with Russia, has sent the turbine to Canada for a major overhaul. But now they say they can’t return the turbine because of anti-Russian sanctions. Germany and Canada are now negotiating the return of the Nord Stream equipment. So far they are stuck in a dead end. In Europe, meanwhile, reserves for the winter are already being withdrawn from gas storage facilities. There is panic.

Our correspondent reports from Germany.

As has been shown, the sanctions have a life of their own and multiply spontaneously. A few weeks ago, after euphoria over the adoption of the sixth package of sanctions, Europe announced the seventh package, which could theoretically include some form of gas embargo. This step has to be taken responsibly — stocking up for the winter and finding new suppliers for the future, but there is a ban on supplies of equipment for the Russian gas industry — and lo and behold, dreams come true. Sometimes out of the blue.

“Due to the expiration of the overhaul interval, in accordance with the Rostekhnadzor regulation and taking into account the technical condition of the turbine, Gazprom will stop operating another Siemens gas turbine engine at the Portovaya pumping station,” Gazprom said.

Portovaya is pumping gas through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline. According to the Bundesnetzagentur [Federal Network Agency], the shutdown of the worn-out turbine has resulted in a 40 percent reduction in gas transit, and according to Gazprom by as much as 60 percent. Germany has been forced to halt gas supplies to French customers altogether, and supplies to Italy have fallen by a third. Isn’t that already the seventh package? It’s a legitimate question how it happened that Gazprom didn’t have a replacement. It’s simply because Siemens has yet to get another aggregate back after its overhaul in Montreal — Canadian authorities seized it under the Sanctions Act of June 8 of this year.

Life Without Parole for Salah Abdeslam

Salah Abdeslam is the sole survivor of the leadership group of Islamic terrorists who carried out the massacres in Paris in November of 2015, including the hideous carnage at the Bataclan café. His trial is finally over, and he has been sentenced to life without parole, as requested by the prosecution.

Many thanks to Gary Fouse for translating this article from France Bleu:

November 13 trial: Salah Abdeslam sentenced to life without parole

by Morgane Heuclin
June 29, 2022

This is the epilogue of almost ten months of trial, more than six years after the attacks of November 13, 2015. Salah Abdeslam, the sole survivor of the commandos, has been sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.

Salah Abdeslam, the sole survivor of the November 13 2015 attack commandos, has been sentenced to life imprisonment without parole. The special criminal court found him guilty of “murders as part of an organized gang in connection with a terrorist enterprise” on Wednesday evening. It is the heaviest sentence provided by the penal code, which makes any possibility of release minimal. The court thus followed the recommendations of the prosecution.

“The culpability of Salah Abdeslam as a co-perpetrator of the acts of murder in relation to a terrorist enterprise has been upheld insofar as the court has considered that the targets altogether should be recognized as one and the same scene of the crime,” stated the president of the court in beginning the announcement of the verdict. The court has concluded that the explosive belt that Salah Abdeslam “was wearing was not functional, which puts his declarations about backing out seriously in question.”

Sentences from two years to life without parole

All of the accused, with the exception of one, Farid Kharkhach, were found guilty on all the counts of the indictment. The other 19 defendants are sentenced to terms ranging from two years in prison for Farid Kharkhach to life without parole for the Clain brothers, presumed dead in Syria. Among them, the three who appeared in court free under judicial supervision, are not subject to an order of custody: That means that they will benefit from an adjustment of sentence.

In his final appearance before the court on Monday, Salah Abdeslam had again reiterated his “sincere” apologies to the victims. “I am not an assassin; I am not a killer,” he had stressed from the defendant’s dock. Salah Abdeslam’s defense attorney had recalled in his pleading that life without parole has been given only four times in France, against men recognized as “psychopaths” and sentenced for crimes committed against minors.

As for Mohamed Abrini, the childhood friend of Salah Abdeslam, he was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 22 years to be served, as the prosecution asked for, found guilty of complicity in murders and attempted murders. He also spoke a lot during the hearings, acknowledging that he had been “scheduled for November 13,” before he backed out, for which he did not provide any explanations.

The Great Birth Dearth

The collapse in Western birth rates is possibly the biggest story of our time.

The two reports below from Hungary and Germany say almost exactly the same thing: birth rates show a sudden and drastic drop at the beginning of this year, which is almost exactly nine months after the first surge of experimental mRNA treatments intended to mitigate the effects of infection with the Wuhan Coronavirus.

First, the video from Hungary. Here’s a translated summary from MTI, the Hungarian state news agency:

Hungarian MP links the drop in fertility rates to the mass “vaccination” against Covid

MP Dóra Dúró (Mi Hazánk / Our Homeland party) drew attention to the worsening demographic indicators in her speech held in the Hungarian Parliament on the 27th July. She said that in January 2022 the birth rate fell by 20% compared to the same period last year, and the fertility rate also declined. She noted that this happened just nine months after the mass vaccination against Covid began in Hungary; and such a steep decline has not occurred for decades. She said that it was the responsibility of the state to investigate whether this brutal decline was linked to that factor.

Many thanks to László for the translation, and to Vlad Tepes and RAIR Foundation for the subtitling. The translator notes: “I believe the value of this speech is that it was held in a national parliament, not just on a website that can be dismissed by branding it as a ‘conspiracy theory’. Especially because MP Dúró has called for official investigations, thereby cornering the state — because, I think, after such public notice the lack of investigations may easily qualify as criminal negligence in the future.”

The following report tells the same story about birth statistics in Germany. Many thanks to Hellequin GB for translating this article from the German-language service of RT. The translator’s comments are in square brackets:

Consequence of vaccination? Drastic fall in the birth rate in Germany

According to official figures, the number of live births in Germany has fallen significantly since the beginning of 2022. The scientist Stefan Homburg suspects that the reason for the drop in births is the vaccination rate among middle-aged people, which increased drastically a year ago.

The number of live births in Germany has apparently decreased drastically in the first months of 2022. According to provisional figures from the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), 164,614 children were born in the first quarter of the year. [Want to bet that these are of migrant stock?] In the same period of 2021, the statisticians recorded 187,543 live births. This corresponds to a decrease of more than twelve percent. In previous years, the numbers were comparatively stable.

The development that can be seen in the numbers between December 2021 and January 2022 is particularly drastic. In December 2021, the statisticians recorded 67,927 live births — over 7,000 more than in December 2020 (60,716). In January 2022, however, there were only 52,987 live births, almost 7,000 fewer than a year earlier (59,799). From December 2021 to January 2022, the number of births fell by almost 15,000.

The financial scientist Stefan Homburg, known as a critic of Corona policy, made a connection on Twitter between the “unprecedented decline in the birth rate” and the so-called Corona vaccination. Homburg wrote:

“In this RKI graphic from the last weekly report, the arrow marks the age group 18 to 59 years, which is responsible for the majority of births. From calendar week 2021/17, i.e. around nine months before the first quarter of 2022, the curve rises steeply.”

In fact, the graph shows an increase in the vaccination rate in this age group from around 3 percent in April to 60 percent in August and finally around 80 percent at the end of the year. If, as Homburg claims, this actually confirms a connection between vaccination rates and live births, their number should continue to decline in the coming months.

Stefan Homburg was Director of the Institute for Public Finance at Leibniz Universität Hannover until his early retirement in the spring of 2021. Several so-called fact checkers have repeatedly accused the scientist of “spreading false information” during the Corona crisis.

Ascendant Islam Means Jihad Is Coming

Here’s the latest from Sharia TipSheet:

Ascendant Islam Means Jihad Is Coming

In my early morning news broadcast, I routinely include stories about the ongoing series of massacres in Africa. I want Americans to know what happens in countries where Islam is ascendant, so they can decide where Islam belongs in the American scheme of things.

Recent stories include Muslim militants killing 142 people in 10 villages across Nigeria, and fresh jihad attacks and slaughter of innocents in Mozambique as well as Nigeria. Muslims have abducted or killed 35 Christian pastors in the last 17 months.

One recent story that broke through to major news outlets was the terrorist attack on a Catholic Church during church services in Nigeria, killing 50 people and taking the priest hostage. Locals identified the killers as ethnic Fulanis. The Fulani stock is primarily Muslim.

There’s a narrative out there to the effect these are all just land and water disputes between rival tribes. Nothing could be further from the truth. How much land and water is inside a Catholic Church? These are massacres motivated by standard Islamic doctrine, the same Islamic doctrine found in America and everywhere else the Quran is read and believed. Quranic doctrine holds that Islam shall reign supreme, and jihad will be waged until the entire world submits to Islam. Another narrative, pushed by the corrupt FBI and the rest of the U.S. government, is that sharia supremacy is only the view of extremist groups like Al Qaeda, but the narrative falls apart when you realize sharia supremacy and jihad come right from the pages of the Quran itself. As President Erdogan of Turkey put it in 2017, “There is no moderate or immoderate Islam. Islam is Islam and that’s it.”

Culture-Enrichers Acting as Trusties

Many thanks to Hellequin GB for translating this article from the German-language service of the Epoch Times. The translator’s comments are in square brackets:

Pushbacks: Refugees against refugees on behalf of the Greek police

At the EU’s external border, Greek police officers are apparently using refugees as accomplices for illegal pushbacks. This was the result of joint research by Der Spiegel with Lighthouse Reports, the ARD political magazine Report Munich, Le Monde and the Guardian. After months of research, the team of reporters managed to speak to six of these men.

They said independently of one another that they had been urged to force them back to Turkey. In return they had been promised residence permits. According to Der Spiegel, the information provided by the refugees was able to be verified with the help of photos, satellite images and official Greek documents.

Residents of Greek villages near the border also report that it is “an open secret” in the region that refugees carry out pushbacks on behalf of the police. Farmers and fishermen, who are allowed to enter the restricted area on the Evros River, are said to have repeatedly observed refugees at work: migrants are not seen on the Evros, said a resident. ”Except those who work for the police.” Three Greek police officers also confirmed the practice to Der Spiegel and its partners. The police consider the pushbacks to be so dangerous that they are increasingly using refugees in order to protect their own officers. [And those are the “peaceful” refugees that the Greens worship, and want flooding into Europe indefinitely, or until each and every white, native European has been enriched through the cultural culler.]

The Greek Interior Ministry and the police left official media inquiries unanswered as of Tuesday. According to European law, Greece is obliged to open an asylum procedure for asylum seekers who reach Greek territory.

“This approach is a break with all the values that we represent in the European Union,” said the Federal Government’s Human Rights Commissioner, Luise Amtsberg (Greens). “This is abysmal and cannot be surpassed in terms of perfidy.”

Afterword from the translator:

So what? These policemen are fighting for their country and their children against invaders and are using the tools at their disposal, because of those traitorous puppeticians. Also, such a virtue-signalling hit piece could only come from Spiegel and ARD, the saviours of the poor “refugees”. But they are silent, or belittling, when it comes to the victims of their cultural enrichment drive.

Has each of those journalists taken in a “refugee”? Or Luise Amtsberg, or any other of these advocates for cultural genocide? I seriously doubt it.

Chlorine Gas

Here’s an update on yesterday’s post about the deadly explosion of toxic gas at the port in Aqaba. According to today’s news, the death toll has risen to twelve (some accounts say thirteen), with more than 250 people injured.

The toxic material is now specifically named as “chlorine gas”. Elemental chlorine gas is pale yellow-green when isolated, whereas mustard gas (which contains chlorine) is generally described as yellow-brown in appearance. Photos of the latter strongly resemble yesterday’s plume of vapor in Aqaba.

It’s possible that the chlorine gas in the tank was compounded with other elements to make it that color. I don’t know whether such compounding might be done with the express purpose of making the gas clearly visible during accidents such as the one in Jordan.

The container is said to have been destined for Djibouti, which is just down the Red Sea from Aqaba, on the African coast.

Was the chlorine gas manufactured in Jordan? Or was it manufactured elsewhere and transshipped?

The whole story still seems strange to me, but I doubt we’ll ever learn any more than this.

Below are excerpts from a recent Reuters report on the incident:

Chlorine Gas Leak Kills at Least 12, Injures 251 at Jordan Port

The leak came after a tank filled with chlorine gas being exported to Djibouti fell while being transported, officials said.

At least 12 people died and 251 were injured in a chlorine gas leak from a storage tank at Jordan’s Aqaba port, officials and state media reported on Monday.

A video posted on state television’s Twitter page showed a storage tank falling from a winch and slamming into the deck of a ship, followed by yellow-coloured gas rising into the air as people ran away.

Health ministry officials said they expected only a handful of people to remain hospitalised by Tuesday.

Chlorine is a widely used disinfectant and water purification agent, but if inhaled, the gas turns to hydrochloric acid, which can lead to internal burning and drowning through a reactionary release of water in the lungs.

The Islamic Terror Attack in Oslo: Swedish and Flemish Perspectives

As I reported on Saturday, an Iranian-Norwegian named Zaniar Matapour went on a shooting rampage at a gay bar in Oslo during the Pride Festival, killing two people and wounding dozens more.

The two pieces below, both translated by Gary Fouse, discuss the incident from Flemish and Swedish perspectives, respectively.

The first is an editorial from Vlaams Belang website:

Attack in Oslo was Islamist terror

June 26, 2022

Two were killed and 21 injured in a terrorist attack at a gay club in the Norwegian capital of Oslo. The perpetrator was a Norwegian of Iranian origin, and the police have classified the attack as Islamic terror. “How many attacks are still necessary before the Left sees the danger of Islamic fundamentalism?” asks Member of Parliament and BiZa [Interior Ministry] committee chairman Ortwin Depoortere. “If we do not stop mass migration and Islamization, Europe will just become more dangerous. In the meantime, our security services have to track down and smoke out as many Islamists as possible.”

In a shooting Friday evening in the Norwegian capital of Oslo, two people died and 21 others were wounded. Eight of them were taken to a hospital, three of whom are reportedly in serious condition. The attack is considered “an act of Islamist terror” by the Norwegian intelligence service PST. The suspect is a 42-year-old Norwegian of Iranian origin with ISIS sympathies. Since 2015 he has been on the radar of the intelligence service for radicalization, and he had a past record of violence and threats. As a result of the attack, the terror threat level in Norway has been raised to the highest level. Originally planned for this week was a Pride parade in Oslo, but it has been canceled due to the attack and the heightened terror threat.

“This shooting is the umpteenth terror attack in Europe in the space of a few years,” says Depoortere. “And each time it is Islamist perpetrators with a heartfelt hatred for the West, which was detected by our intelligence services.”

“The self-proclaimed progressives who pretend that they stand for gay rights and more migration from Islamic countries would do better to reflect and realize that each is opposed to the other,” concludes Depoortere. “It is thus important that we implement a halt to migration. In the meantime, our security services have to track down and smoke out the Islamist terror cells. These are deadly elements in our society that are living under our noses, but they have to be removed as a priority. With radical Islam present, we will always have to look over our shoulders. And whoever sows more Islamization will reap terror.”

The second article is from Swedish state TV:
