Allahu Akhbar at the Victoria Station

New Year’s Eve was celebrated in Amsterdam at Schiphol Airport with a bomb threat and “Allahu Akhbar”. At the Victoria Station in the northern English city of Personchester, it was celebrated with a knife and “Allahu Akhbar”. No one was hurt in Amsterdam, but at the Victoria Station three people were seriously wounded by the mischievous youth wielding the knife.

Many thanks to Vlad Tepes for uploading this video:

Below are excerpts from an article from The Daily Mirror about tonight’s events in Personchester. Unfortunately, the Mirror used the non-inclusive name for the city, which does not conform with EU guidelines and is therefore deprecated by Gates of Vienna:

Manchester Victoria Station Stabbings: Three People ‘Knifed by Man Screaming Allah!’

Two members of the public, a man and a woman, and a British Transport Police officer have been taken to hospital from the scene of the stabbings at Manchester Victoria Station

At least three people have been stabbed by a man with a ‘long knife’ in frenzied attack at Victoria Station in Manchester.

British Transport Police [BTP] were called to the scene just before 9pm on New Year’s Eve as a man wielding a knife stabbed members of the public.

Two members of the public, a man and a woman, and a BTP officer were taken to hospital with stab injuries and are were taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary in a “very serious condition”.

[…]

Counter Terrorism Policing North West are leading the investigation but Greater Manchester Police said “there is no intelligence to suggest that there is any wider threat at this time”.

A video later emerged on Snapchat of a man shouting “Allahu Akbar” while being bundled into a police van.

New Year’s Eve

This is from 1949 when it appears that singers actually enunciated their lyrics. I listened to a number of versions and this was the best of the lot. Sometimes R&B songs are the most memorable renditions.

So whatch’all doing on the very last day of 2018, Anno Domini? Or, depending on your time zone, what did you do – at least what’s fit for public conversation.

I made Hoppin’ John for tomorrow. It always tastes better the next day. In parts of the Upper South, it was/is still a tradition to eat Hoppin’ John on the first day of the new year in order to have good luck for the rest of it.

Anyone else have holiday customs to share? The twelve days of Christmas don’t end until Epiphany, so let’s hear it for Yule logs and mistletoe and fruitcake and gold, frankincense and myrrh. [I may be the only person I know who actually likes fruitcake. The Irish whiskey used to saturate the muslin wrapper gives it a certain je ne sais quoi, non?]

Judge Jeanine Talks to Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff

Earlier this month Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff appeared on Judge Jeanine Pirro’s show on Fox News. ESW discussed the verdict in the “hate speech” case against her, and how it relates to UN Resolution 16/18 and the Islamic law against slander:

When Muslims accuse someone of slander, they don’t mean what we do when we use the term. This is from Reliance of the Traveller,* Book R. “Holding one’s Tongue”, § 2.0, “Slander (Ghiba),” r2.2:

Slander and talebearing are two of the ugliest and most frequently met with qualities among men, few people being safe from them. I have begun with them because of the widespread need to warn people of them.

[…]

Slander (ghiba) means to mention anything concerning a person that he would dislike…

r2.3:

As for talebearing… it consists of quoting someone’s words to another in a way that worsens relations between them.

As you can see, the factual truth of any given statement is irrelevant; what matters is whether a Muslim would dislike hearing it spoken.

To contribute to Elisabeth’s legal defense fund:

TRUMP — or, I’m a better man than you are, Gunga Din

TRUMP
or
I’m a better man than you are, Gunga Din

by JLH, with apologies to Rudyard Kipling

You may talk of love and truth
When you woo the voting booth
And primary in your little, local race,
But bigger races need the dollar
And you are glad to wear the collar
Of anyone who helps you keep the pace.
Thus it happens in the U.S.,
In that political noisomeness,
Where the voters’ hopes have often flared and died.
Of all the Machiavellian crew
Who have swum that fiscal brew,
Just one has kept his head above the tide.

And it’s Trump! Trump! Trump!
How the hell did you make that jump?
Now stop this awful farce.
Don’t say things that we can’t parse
And go back to being the old, familiar Trump.

Tie is red, shirt white,
Suit blue both day and night,
Unless he’s going golfing with some friends.
So he’s red and white and blue,
And what he wants to do
Is help this ailing country try to mend.
The economy was failing,
And the middle class was flailing,
From eight socialist years of derring-do-do.
“Oh is there even one
Who’ll do more than simply run,
And, if elected, find something good to do?”

So it’s Trump! Trump! Trump!
Now that you’ve made the jump,
Make it pay, once more, to work,
Never mind the greedy jerks,
Who earn their obscene wages from the Sump.

He won and started work,
Unmindful of what lurks
And slithers in the corridors of power.
His thoughts are on the job.
Disdainful of the mob,
He focuses on using every hour.
He has both wealth and fame
And will spend them in the name
Of raising up the “deplorable” working class.
He takes no pay except for thanks
Moves lightly as a Patton tank,
And leaves his mark wherever he may pass.

So it’s Trump! Trump! Trump!
Pay no mind to Nancy Frump
Or her comrade, Cheesy Chuck,
Who are roiling in the muck.
Sail over them and you’ll hardly feel a bump.

Off With His Head!

The beheading of infidels by Islamic mujahideen (most recent example: the two murdered Scandinavian women in Morocco) isn’t condoned by the European elite, but it is denied, downplayed, avoided, glossed over, obfuscated, and swept under the rug.

However, the beheading IN EFFIGY of French President Emmanuel Macron is considered a great crime, possibly the most heinous act the Fifth Republic has ever seen. Even the videographer who recorded the event is likely to be subject to severe legal penalties.

Many thanks to Ava Lon for translating this report, and to Vlad Tepes for the subtitling:

A Gallic Sense of Priorities

Ivan Winters lives in a very culturally enriched area of West Yorkshire (formerly the West Riding). For a change of pace, the following report from him has nothing to do with the cultural enrichment of the UK.

A Gallic Sense of Priorities
by Ivan Winters

I was onboard a ‘Barge Cruise’ on the River Aire in Leeds in early December. The reason for this is that I was invited to attend as a guest by a member of the Leeds Orange Lodge. I have always been a staunch Unionist, but in fact could never legally be a member of an Orange Lodge. I have been asked a couple of times, but Orange Order rules state that a candidate for membership must be a Protestant, and I have had to point out I am in fact a (non-practising) Jew.

In addition to enjoying the (excellent) buffet, the bar and a very friendly DJ playing music suitable for an older person’s tastes, there was also an official event partway through our cruise. This was the ‘official presentation’ of a medal to a lodge member. The medal was the French Légion d’Honneur!

How did this happen?

The member is called ‘John’ and he is a bricklayer by trade. He also teaches bricklaying and a couple of other trades at a local college. John was in Lille in France in November to attend one of the centennial events marking Armistice Day. He was staying at a local Novotel when there was a disturbance in the hotel lobby in the evening. The night porter was trying to eject two Albanian migrants who were making a nuisance of themselves. John went to the night porter’s assistance and helped him eject the migrants. Someone either in the local gendarmerie or the Novotel Hotel management reported John’s assistance up through their chain of command. The result was the issuing of a ‘Légion d’Honneur’ to John complete with a medal and a (bilingual) certificate detailing the circumstances which had caused the issue of France’s highest award for bravery. The certificate was signed by ‘President of the Republic’ Emmanuel Macron!

The official presentation was carried out by the Lodge Secretary and the Deputy Lodge Master. Following the presentation the DJ played The Marseillaise. Everyone on the boat stood for the playing even though many of those present will have been ex-Servicemen, and most British ex-Servicemen have their own robust opinions of French bravery.

This of course led me to think about the French President’s sense of priorities. For the past several weeks the media have covered the strikes/riots against Macron’s rule by the ‘Yellow Vests’. He has gone from being a president who has lectured world leaders, including President Trump, about their policy decisions, to having his policies very publicly rejected by his own electors! In addition to this very public humiliation, massive damage has been done to the French economy. Tourism is a major earner for the French economy but the seasonal tourist trade has been wrecked. In addition to the damage to buildings, vehicles, etc., the retail centres of major cities such as Paris have lost most of their expected Christmas and New Year’s seasonal sales revenue.

Another, larger caravan is forming up in Honduras and reportedly plans to travel to the southern border of the USA. Meanwhile, more than 300 migrants landed in Spain after taking more than a week to cross the Mediterranean from North Africa.

Five Mujahideen Rounded up in Rotterdam

FouseSquawk has translated two articles about today’s terror bust in Rotterdam. See his blog for the full story.

The first article is from the Dagblad van het Noorden:

Five arrests in Rotterdam terrorism investigation

The police arrested five terrorism suspects on Saturday. In the morning, four were arrested in Rotterdam. A fifth during the day. Where (exactly) the arrests were made has not been reported.

They are suspected of involvement in the preparation of a terrorist crime. Immediately after the arrests in the morning, the locations where the detentions were made were searched. Four of the arrested men are between 20 and 30 years old and come from non-Western countries. Nothing further is known about the fifth.

The investigation will continue in the coming days, the police reported. “The emphasis is on further research into the nature and scale of the terrorist threat.” The police cannot say anything else.

In June two men were arrested in Rotterdam on suspicion of preparing terrorism and membership of a terrorist organization. It is believed they wanted to attack the security services in the Netherlands.

In September seven men were arrested who, according to the Public Prosecution, wanted to commit a major terrorist attack on an unnamed event. Two of these men come from Rotterdam and one from Vlaardingen.

The second article is from De Telegraaf:

The Party is Always Right

The DDR, more commonly known as East Germany, did not die in the fall of 1989. The Communist nomenklatura were simply absorbed into the political ecology of the German Federal Republic, and their ideological heritage eventually became dominant throughout Germany.

At least that’s the way it seems. The following video is emblematic of the DDR-ization of a country that was once considered a beacon of freedom in Central Europe.

Translated from the notes accompanying the video:

Migration-critical interview triggers meltdown at MDR [Central German Broadcasting]
Moderator Katrin Huß Tells About Her Experience With Censorship

Katrin Huß, who has been a moderator at WDR [West German Broadcasting] since 1995, conducted an interview in January 2016 with the psychoanalyst Hans-Joachim Maaz, who critically commented on the uncontrolled influx of “refugees”. The video above contains a brief excerpt from the interview, and then Katrin Huss telling what was going on behind the scenes at the MDR. During an interview at NouViso Talk she described how she felt as if she had return to the DDR and the lyrics of “The Party Song” came to her mind.

Many thanks to MissPiggy for the translation, and to Vlad Tepes for the subtitling:

For your further delectation, the following video has “The Party Song” with subtitles in German and English:

MissPiggy elaborates:

The “Song of the Party” (German: Das Lied der Partei), also known as “Die Partei hat immer recht” (English: “The Party is always right”) was the party song of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany, the ruling party of East Germany. It was written by the composer Louis Fürnberg. It is best known by the first line of its chorus: Die Partei, die Partei, die hat immer recht (English: The Party, the Party, is always right).

An improvised explosive device blew up near a tour bus in the Haram area in Egypt on the road from Cairo to the Great Pyramids. Four people (or two, according to some reports) were killed and a dozen or more others wounded. Three of the dead were Vietnamese tourists, and the other was a tour guide. No group has claimed responsibility.

In other news, President Trump took to Twitter to demand that Congress fund the wall, or else he will close the southern border in its entirety. Mr. Trump also insisted that “ridiculous immigration laws” be reformed.
