Vlaams Belang: Stop Islamization
The following video shows an excerpt from a recent appearance by the Vlaams Belang (Flemish Interest) leader Filip Dewinter on a Flemish talk show.
Seventeen years ago I had the privilege of sharing a podium with Mr. Dewinter at the first Brussels conference. His hair wasn’t white back then, but then, neither was mine. I went digging through my old photos, but couldn’t find any usable ones from the occasion. Steen may have taken some, but I don’t seem to have any copies of them.
It’s encouraging to see that Filip Dewinter’s stance hasn’t changed in seventeen years. More power to him.

Re: “Filip Dewinter: ‘Islam is Our Enemy and Ultimately Wants to Take Over Europe'”
George Orwell once said that during times of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act, and Dewinter would seem to fit that pattern. A man able to speak such plain and unvarnished truths is rare, and one brave-enough to actually voice them is rarer still. I hope for his sake that Mr. Dewinter has taken steps to protect his security and safety and that of his family.
That the usual suspects within the Dutch and European Union governments will be unhappy with Mr. Dewinter’s statements is a given; how the Saracens will take them is the more-interesting and pressing question.
It is common within the Islamic world – within the umma or worldwide community of believers – for outsiders to be criticized harshly if they dare to speak frankly about Islam or Muslims, since these are privileges reserved for the believers themselves and not the kafirs (infidels). On the other hand, as Osama Bin Laden once said, Muslims respect the strong horse, and Dewinter is acting in such a manner, so maybe he will be accorded some respect. No one trusts a traitor, not even an enemy who benefits from his betrayal.
Of course, given the tenor of the times in which we live, it is probably a flip-of-the-coin which of the two is more-dangerous to him, the Muslims themselves or the sympathizers inside his own government and the EU. It is common knowledge how dissidents – genuine ones, like Geert Wilders in the Netherlands and Tommy Robinson in the U.K., for example – are treated, i.e., charged with hate crimes, sued by one court or tribunal or another, and so on.
Whatever else may be said about them, at least the Muslims are honest about what they represent and believe and they have planted their flag accordingly. The dissemblers, liars and prevaricators down at the EU cannot even manage this level of integrity and decency, not even to a fellow European.
