Long-time readers of this blog are aware of my esteem for Denmark. If only I had discovered the uniqueness of Denmark when I was still young, while I still could have learned that mouthful of mush they call a language, I might have moved there and gone native. But even in my dotage I can appreciate what makes Denmark different from all the other countries of Europe west of the Elbe.
Denmark is still a nation. Danes feel themselves to be Danish, and they’re proud of it — insofar as they can be proud in a national culture of Janteloven. They fly the flag (Dannebrog), revere the royal family, and cherish their national tastes and quirks (candles and licorice come to mind). And for the English-speaking traveler, Denmark is an ideal destination, because just about everyone there speaks English.
One of the differences between Denmark and the rest of Western Europe is that the Danish police actually do their traditional job: they uphold the law, and protect Danish citizens from crime and violence. In the following video you’ll see the police holding back the “anti-fascists” who are trying to interfere with yesterday’s PEGIDA march in Copenhagen. Notice that they keep their backs to the marchers and their eyes on the lefties — they know they don’t have to worry about the law-abiding citizens taking part in the march; the violent troublemakers are all on the other side.
The same is true in other parts of Europe — you see the police keeping their eyes on the antifas and their backs to the PEGIDA people. However, in Denmark the police aren’t restrained by their political bosses from arresting violent leftists. Tommy Robinson was punched by an antifa on yesterday’s march, and responded — as is his wont — by punching the fellow back. In Britain the leftist would have been let off scot-free, and Tommy would have been arrested, but the Danish cops actually arrested the antifa thug. What a difference from London!

The other day I posted about the nor’easter we were expecting. Dubbed “Winter Storm Jonas” by the show-biz folks at the National Weather Service Weather Channel on television, it was going to leave us buried, while sparing the Northeast, after which ‘nor’easters’ are named since the majority of those monsters end up there. Except when they get stuck in Baltimore.
Well, the snow here totalled fourteen inches (37cm) or so, but its more Armageddon aspects moved north where they belonged, thus making a genuine traditional “lizzard”[That’s the term New York’s Department of Transportation — DOT — inadvertently posted on an electronic highway sign as our commenter, Babs, pointed out. “Lizzard” is somehow more descriptive of a phenomenon which winds its way up the coast, primal and destructive. [Tangentially, to see how far down the bureaucracy language destruction goes, look at the hundreds of New York State’s acronyms. How many man-hours did that cost New York tax-payers?]
On that nor’easter post the first commenter out of the gate wasn’t interested in the storm. He just showed up to fight about “idiots” who don’t believe in anthropogenic global cooling, warming, umm… “climate change”. The fact that I’d mentioned (in passing) being a skeptic caused him to call our “whole site into question”. Bless Chuck’s little heart: he vanished into the ether once a repeated attempt at name-calling was redacted. In other words, his True Belief (he never presented any proposition to prove his point) wasn’t going to be argued so he picked up his marble and left.
Another commenter posted a link to a video about this subject, fraught as it is. This contribution to the discussion is/was Dr. Ivar Giaever’s speech to his fellow scientists at the 2015 Lindau Laureate Meeting. [Ah, the things one learns in the course of doing a post.]
This Lindau Meeting is held every year in order that the Nobel winners in the sciences may, as the site says:
meet the next generation of leading scientists: undergraduates, PhD students, and post-doc researchers from all over the world. The Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings foster the exchange among scientists of different generations, cultures, and disciplines.
Sad to say the larger Nobel Laureate “club” is infected with the usual p.c. doctrine and dogma. The women who’ve won the Nobel Peace Prize (or perhaps this represents only some of them? One can hope…) have voluntarily segregated themselves into something called “The Nobel Women’s Initiative — for Peace, Justice and Equality”.
Gah.
Why would they set themselves apart like this? Because WOMEN. Or wymyn. They are sure male Laureates can’t be trusted with lofty notions — or teddy bears and candles, either. The obvious and ugly inference is that men already run “The Initative for War, Prejudice, and Disparity”. If anyone were to make these Nobelettes segregate themselves in such a manner you’d be able to hear them screeching even now about being marginalized. But self-marginalization? Female ghettoes? Just fine, thank you very much.
Bless their hearts. These mindless twits have established (drum roll, please) #WomenRefugeesWelcome, complete with its own hashtag and a multiplicity of micro-aggressions against anyone who doesn’t agree with them [my emphases]:
The women Nobel laureates act as role models, as, through their cooperation, they demonstrate how it is possible to work together for a better world — despite all cultural and religious differences. In concrete terms, they also act as mentors for young activists. As they report, one of the highlights of last year was their cooperation with Neesa Medina from Honduras, Htet Htet Aung from Burma and Riya William from South Sudan. Last but not least, the work of the women Nobel Laureates serves to protect the safety of women activists throughout the world, lending visibility to the activists’ work and thereby making it more difficult to persecute them. A conference on this topic, “Defending the Defenders!”, was held in 2015. Its aim was to help develop networks and strategies that would serve the international community to provide better support and help to women human rights activists.
Obviously one can infer they mean that male activists can form their own damned group. In other words, our very own person-of-color-community-organizer-Nobel-Peace-Prize-Poobah-President isn’t eligible for their group. “Take that, you smelly men!”
Even sadder than this feminist black comedy (oops! WAYCIST!) is the page devoted to the Paris Climate Meetings. It predictably regurgitates the United Nations-IPCC dogma, that tediously predictable and deliberately distracting “Henny Penny The Sky is Falling” dystopia being pushed as another form of wealth destruction green utopia.
In the abstract accompanying Dr. Giaever’s speech on the Laureate site (I wonder how many dared attend his talk?) there is a quote from him:

”The evidence is incontrovertible: Global warming is occurring. If no mitigating actions are taken, significant disruptions in the Earth’s physical and ecological systems, social systems, security and human health are likely to occur. We must reduce emissions of greenhouse gases beginning now.”
I resigned from the society in 2011. First: nothing in science is incontrovertible. Second: the “measured” average temperature increase in 100 years or so, is 0.8 Kelvin. Third: since the Physical Society claim it has become warmer, why is everything better than before? Fo[u]rth: the maximum average temperature ever measured was in 1998, 17 years ago. When will we stop wasting money on alternative energy?
Dr. Giaever’s tour of reality is inspiring. Don’t you hope you’re doing this well at eighty-five??

In the above photo, you’ll notice that the banner being held by Filip Dewinter and his colleagues features “PEGIDA Vlaanderen” — that is, “PEGIDA Flanders” and not “PEGIDA Belgium”. PEGIDA is now spreading rapidly throughout Western and Central Europe, but it is very much a national movement. Since Belgium is an artificial multinational state that acts as the Mini-Me of the European Union, a PEGIDA Belgium franchise would make no sense at all.

PEGIDA has become an export item of the national-conservative rebellion. On February 6th, it will show its strength in many European cities.
With 350 participants, the group that hit the streets in Antwerp against the Islamization of Europe was a modest size. For PEGIDA leader Lutz Bachmann, however, the appearance in the Belgian port city is another important strategic success. He came to Flanders at the invitation of the extreme rightist and separatist Vlaams Belang [Flemish Interest] party. Among the nationalists on the Belgian North Sea coast, Bachmann is highly respected because of the mass marches of up to 20,000 people he organized in Dresden. He appeared in Antwerp next to the Vlaams Belang politician Filip Dewinter, as the main speaker
Edwin Wagenveld — better known to PEGIDA followers as “Ed the Dutchman” — was also there. A Netherlander by birth, Wagenveld has lived in Germany for several years, is a frequent guest in Dresden, and has built up PEGIDA in the Netherlands on the German model. There, as in Belgium, the movement has taken over the German name, so it has for a long time been more than just a German phenomenon. It has become an export item of national-conservative rebellion which is increasingly popular among those who no longer feel represented by the established parties.
Major Demonstrations on February 6th
Requests for contact information from nationalists all over Europe were not long in coming. And they were welcomed in Dresden. By now, PEGIDA is in Austria, Czechia, Poland, Hungary, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Estonia, Denmark, Spain, Switzerland and Great Britain. The movement has good connections from Vlaams Belang, through the French Front National, the British EU-hostile UKIP and the nationalist parties of Eastern Europe, to the Italian Lega Nord. These connections for Bachmann’s movement are tended by the self-appointed PEGIDA advocate, Götz Kubitschek.
Kubitschek is the co-founder of the controversial Institute for State Policy, where Thuringian AfD head Björn Höcke recently propounded the theory about “evolutionary differential reproduction strategies” of Africans and Europeans. Further, Kubitschek publishes the nationalist conservative journal Sezession. Last year he represented PEGIDA at a congress of Lega Nord in Rome, and as “a guest at a huge demonstration of the Lega on the Piazza des Popolo” as he wrote on his internet site.
On the sixth of February, PEGIDA will show how strong it has become with large demonstrations all over Europe. The central demonstration is planned for Dresden; further demonstrations are planned for — among many other cities — Warsaw, Tallinn, Prague, Bratislava, Amsterdam, possibly Birmingham.
The port at Calais was shut down after some fifty migrants managed to board a ferry that was bound for Britain. 500 migrants forced their way past police lines and headed for the port, and 150 managed to breach the barrier fence. Of those, fifty made it onto the ferry.
In other news, the Bishop of London recommends that vicars grow beards in order to demonstrate their holiness to Muslims, who are now the dominant religious group in London.

As promised, today Geert Wilders paid a visit to the southern Dutch town of Spijkenisse to highlight the danger posed to Dutch women by the ongoing “refugee” crisis, which has seen thousands of additional young male third-worlders enter the Netherlands. Cologne and dozens of other European cities have recently experienced a Groping Jihad waged by migrants against native women, and the Netherlands is not likely to be exempted from its ravages.
Mr. Wilders and other leaders of the PVV handed out “resistance spray” to women in the Markt at Spijkenisse. Almost all means of self-defense, including pepper spray, are forbidden by law to women (and men) in the Netherlands. The new defensive spray distributed by the PVV contains red paint. If that fails to stop a would-be assailant, it will certainly make him conspicuous for a while after his assault.
And if the resistance spray turns out to be effective, it will no doubt be outlawed soon afterwards by the government.
Mr. Wilders tweeted that an enthusiastic crowd turned out to resist the Islamic invasion and the “testosterone bombs”, as he calls the young culture-enrichers who grope and molest women in public spaces all over Europe.
In the photo above, notice all those alert men encircling Geert Wilders with their backs to him. Those are his bodyguards. They are with him everywhere he goes, even in the friendliest of venues.

Anti-Islam Dutch Lawmaker Gains Support Amid Migrant Crisis
SPIJKENISSE, Netherlands (AP) — The Dutch debate on asylum-seekers has come to this: Firebrand lawmaker Geert Wilders handing out self-defense sprays to women fearful of what he describes as “Islamic testosterone bombs” in the wake of the New Year’s Eve sexual assaults in Cologne.
Wilders, surrounded by bodyguards and police, visited a market Saturday in the largely blue-collar town of Spijkenisse to hand out the sprays, which contained red paint. Amid stalls selling vegetables, fish, flowers and bicycle parts, Wilders got a rock-star welcome from dozens of supporters, while others protested his visit, waving placards including one that read, “Refugees are welcome, racism is not.”
The publicity stunt fits into Wilders’ uncompromising anti-immigrant, anti-Islam rhetoric that has propelled him to the top of Dutch opinion polls, just over a year away from the parliamentary election.
In between shaking hands and posing for selfies with supporters, the Freedom Party leader said that, if elected, he would, “close the borders immediately and have no more asylum-seekers. We just cannot afford to have more. The Dutch people in a big majority don’t want it and we cannot afford it and it makes our people and women only more unsafe.”
His message is gaining traction here amid a surge of refugees to Europe and following deadly attacks by Islamic extremists in Paris last year. It echoes Republican front-runner Donald Trump’s call for a temporary ban on Muslims entering the United States and is similar to other populist, nationalist groups in Europe like Marine Le Pen’s National Front in France.
“The tendencies across Europe are very similar,” said University of Amsterdam political science professor Wouter van der Brug. “Across Europe, right-wing populist parties are picking up support as a result of the asylum crisis that we’re facing now, and also as a result of terrorist attacks.”
Leontine Maris was one of the first women to get a spray from Wilders. The 53-year-old said she votes for him though she disagrees with some of his more extreme comments. She said she was afraid not just of migrants, but also Dutch men.
“The whole society is going down the drain,” she said.
As Wilders’ popularity soars on the back of such disenchantment, Prime Minister Mark Rutte’s two-party coalition is in a slump, losing ground mainly to Wilders.
“Wilders is getting support across different layers of society,” Van der Brug said.
Today the leadership of PEGIDA UK — Anne Marie Waters, Paul Weston, and Tommy Robinson — took part in a march in Copenhagen as guests of PEGIDA DK, and were featured speakers at the rally. Steen was on hand for the occasion to take photos and videos.

The following video and article may be even more significant than the quotes from Václav Klaus featured in my previous post.
This time we move west, to Austria. Up until now Austrians have not exhibited the audacity and spunk evidenced by the leaders from the former East Bloc. But the ice floes seem to be shifting in Austria — the first Western European country to show the initial symptoms of coming to its senses.
What makes “Fortified Austria” different is that it represents a subset of the Austrian establishment. Previous manifestations of resistance in Western Europe — PEGIDA, the EDL, the Identitaire movements, street demos, etc. — have been grassroots phenomena, agitating from the bottom upwards. But the movement that has just formed in Austria includes at least two serving military officers in uniform, and I presume some of the older fellows in civvies are retired officers. They have gone on the record, with their faces fully exposed, willing to take whatever political risks their actions might incur.
It resembles a low-grade slow-motion military coup. In an American context, imagine a serving colonel and general joining some of their retired colleagues and going on record against the current administration’s reckless defense policies that endanger the security of the United States. That’s what this is analogous to.

Bottom line: The security of Austria is “severely endangered”, the body politic is looking the other way, and the armed forces are being politically instrumentalized, damned to inactivity, and economized out of existence. In a commercial published on January 1, 2016 the officers are speaking plain text. Alongside Colonel Siegfried Abel and the chief of the Officer corps, Colonel Erich Cibulka, General Günther Greindl is speaking as well. The former was crucial in the development of the modern armed forces, he was a representative of the Austrian armed forces in international institutions, he is the founder and the president of the “Federation of Austrian Peacekeepers” and he holds the Order of Merit for services rendered to the Republic of Austria. The Ministry of Defense and the federal government will necessarily feel put under pressure through the activities of these officers.
In the video, the officers are establish in detail the reasons for their actions. “As soldiers of the Austrian armed forces we are serving our country. We have performed this service for decades, with pride and with conviction.” But the threats are increasing. The East-West conflict between Russia and the NATO, terrorism in Europe through the Islamic State, and an uncontrolled mass migration of millions of people into Europe characterize the situation. Large parts of the political establishment are not acknowledging these threats due to ignorance and insider politics. It’s not just the armed forces that are being destroyed, but the will of the people to defend the country is also being systematically ridiculed and destroyed. Therefore the soldiers have to speak up now and act. Due to a “degraded ability to defend”, the “security of our country and the citizenry is severely threatened.”

This is the first in a series of posts that represent the first tiny wavelets of what may turn into a massive tsunami of change sweeping over Europe.
Over the past few months we’ve posted a number of excellent videos and articles showcasing statements made by current political leaders in the former East Bloc countries of Central Europe: Czech President Miloš Zeman, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, and Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico.
To that list must now be added Václav Klaus, the former President of the Czech Republic.
The former president’s words in the following video and article go farther than anything said by the other three — perhaps because Mr. Klaus is no longer a sitting head of state, and does not have to worry about having a military coup engineered against him in reaction to his statements.
These quotes, as far as I know, represent the first time that a serving or former head of state in a European country has told his audience that mass immigration into Europe is being arranged by the political elites to dilute and weaken the nation-states of Europe, and to make their populations more docile and manageable.

Former President Václav Klaus Says Immigration Crisis is Calculated Means to United Europe
Prague, Jan 3 (CTK) — The pro-Brussels elites want to use the migrant crisis to unify Europe and to reduce the influence of EU members, which is the same evil as that wanted by dictators such as Joseph Stalin and Adolf Hitler, former Czech president Václav Klaus told the commercial television station Prima yesterday.
Euro-sceptic Klaus is a fierce opponent of the growing powers of the EU to the detriment of individual countries.
“Migration is a method with which to dilute the current European countries, to create a sort of docile mass that will become the future new European,” Klaus said.
“These is what dictators in the past always wanted, the Hitlers and Stalins,” Klaus said.
“The collectivity of European elites is doing the same evil as that done by the individuals in the past,” he added.
The efforts to unify Europe even more is a “cold calculus” on the part of pro-Brussels politicians, Klaus said.
The real migrant wave only awaits Europe. It should be stopped at the European border, he added.

The influx of migrants into Europe is due to the European social system, paternalism and a “disastrous multicultural ideology,” Klaus said.
However, historical experience has proven that migrants from the countries outside Europe do not feel the need to adapt themselves and that European cultural identity is jeopardised, he added.
The German government has admitted that 600,000 “refugees” (more than half the total number that arrived in 2015) have gone missing. They may have absconded to other EU countries, or they may still be in Germany — there’s no way to tell.
In other news, a man with a gun entered a school in northern Saskatchewan and shot seven people, killing five of them (some reports say four). Many observers expressed surprise that such a tragedy could occur in Canada, which has very strict gun control laws.

Culture-enrichers in the city of Zwickau in Saxony routinely enrich the water of the local swimming pool with their bodily secretions. Evidently the pool’s managers have yet to post the appropriate signage instructing the New Germans not to go poo-poo in the pool.

Outrageous accusations coming from the Zwickau Town Hall: According to Bäder GmbH, [Baths Inc.] refugees are masturbating and defecating into the water. And they also harass women in the sauna and have tried to storm the women’s changing rooms.
All this and more is written in a report from January 19th. Rainer Kallweit, the head of the regulations office for Bäder GmbH, wrote the report for the safety-related services of Bäder GmbH. The city administration has confirmed the authenticity of the report.
Kallweit writes of a memo from Johannisbad Swimming Pool. Its text says, among other things: One asylum seeker masturbated in the whirlpool and ejaculated into the water. It is recorded on surveillance camera.” And, “The swimming pool supervisor threw him out. The asylum seeker came back with comrades to get his cell phone. Together the ‘visitors’, hooting and jeering, took a selfie in the whirlpool.”
The day before “eight foreign men… were in the Sauna,” “The local people felt harassed. When women are in the sauna, asylum seekers are now told that the sauna is closed.”
In general refugees only have free access to the swimming pool. They would have to pay for the use of the sauna. But they won’t do that, according to Bäder GmbH: “When they were prompted to pay up at the register, they turned around, laughed and left.”

The UK Parliamentary Petition: All UK Residents
A petition has been launched: “Sharia Law and the use of Sharia courts within the UK should be prohibited”. So far less than 20,000 signatures have been attracted. 100,000 are required to discuss the matter in The House of Commons. The deadline is 11 March 2016, that means we have a bit more than a month left.
Somewhere there are people betting on the final accumulation from this storm now — at last — upon us. Or they’re making book on which area ends up with the most snow. Or, like the Baron, they’re outside putting up markers to indicate the final depth at their own house.
[A thing one might like to know about the Baron: he’s an excellent jury-rigger. In this case, he has taken my garden dolly (used to haul bags of soil amendments and such during the other three seasons of the year) and marked it with bright pink masking tape at various measured intervals. It has been placed so as to be visible from the kitchen window and securely weighted down with a heavy rock taken from the garden border. Weather definitions are a good use of Wikipedia. It’s difficult to politically polarize (no pun intended) set meteorological events — in this case, “nor’easter”. Which is why a wiki can be invaluable in this case, yet so utterly useless and out of its depth in other areas.
The most recent example came from someone in the comments who mentioned the citation of the Center for Security Policy as a source of information. Unaware of Wikipedia’s infamous reputation as a leftist mouthpiece, he cited its dismissive commentary on CSP.
According to the Wikipedia entry, CSP is not to be trusted. Why? Because it has fought (successfully) to establish the truth of CAIR as a Muslim taqiyya operation, and earned a special place of honor for being the first foundation courageous enough to call out Grover Norquist, an American soi-disant “conservative” who uses his connections with powerful people “inside the Beltway” (the inner ring of roadways nearest The Capitol) to funnel Muslim Brotherhood operatives into positions of influence within the permanent federal bureaucracy.
Thus, Wikipedia is worse than useless for those of us on the right side of the political spectrum. At the same time, it is invaluable for (non-politicized) scientific information. I wouldn’t trust its views on our polarized “climate change” but when it comes to describing the science behind a thousand other things, there is no better quick source. I bracket the politics of Wikipedia and use its definitions to inform/remind/clarify for myself on a myriad of subjects.
And so we come to the wiki about what is coming our way in the next forty-ish hours:
Nor’easter
A nor’easter (also northeaster; see below) is a macro-scale storm along the upper East Coast of the United States and Atlantic Canada; it gets its name from the direction the wind is coming in from the storm. The wind on land, therefore, will generally blow from the northeast.
The usage of the term in North America comes from the wind associated with many different types of storms, some of which can form in the North Atlantic Ocean and some of which form as far south as the Gulf of Mexico. The term is most often used in the coastal areas of New England and the Mid-Atlantic states.[my emphasis — D]
A nor’easter is a low pressure area that often passes just off the New England and southeast Canada Atlantic coastline. Winds in the left-forward quadrant rotate onto land from the northeast. The precipitation pattern is similar to that of other extratropical storms. Nor’easters can cause severe coastal flooding, coastal erosion, hurricane-force winds or blizzard conditions; these conditions are usually accompanied with very heavy rain or snow, depending on when the storm occurs.
Nor’easters thrive on the converging air masses; that is, the polar cold air mass and the warmer oceanic air over the Gulf Stream.
In the present case, unlike the more typical nor’easters, this “Winter Storm ‘Jonas’” has been pulled up to the mid-Atlantic coast from the Gulf, but instead of moving along to New England where it belongs, the sturm-und-drang is going to settle its big fat behind right down in the mid-Atlantic states, with only the barest fingers reaching as far as New York. It could spread a bit into Pennsylvania but the usual victims — New York City and New England — will have the pleasure of being mere spectators. However the coastlines — e.g., Long Island and such — will experience tidal surges associated with the outlying winds.
According to various media reports, forces fighting for the Islamic State have attacked the oil terminal of Ras Lanuf in Libya. Photos published with the reports show a huge column of black smoke rising above the terminal.
In other news, decades after diphtheria was eradicated from Denmark, the highly contagious disease has reentered the country along with recently arrived “refugees”.

In previous reports on the German Counterjihad we’ve featured Tatjana Festerling, a prominent PEGIDA leader. After making public remarks about the weakness and sedition of German political leaders before and after the Groping Jihad in Cologne, Ms. Festerling has joined the growing ranks of German dissidents who are being targeted by the state with legal action due to their activism in opposition to mass Muslim immigration.
The following report by Rembrandt Clancy includes a subtitled video clip and translated excerpts from the speech by Ms. Festerling at a LEGIDA rally in Leipzig on January 11, along with an analysis of the speech in its larger context.
Introduction by Rembrandt Clancy
Frau Tatjana Festerling, one of the most visible members of the PEGIDA leadership team, delivered a speech in Leipzig on 11 January 2016. It concerned the recent sex-jihad in Cologne on New Year’s Eve. Below is a translation of the highlights of that speech, in the forefront of which lies not the events themselves, but rather their analysis.
Frau Festerling, whether conscious of it or not, might be said to be establishing the metapolitical foundation necessary for a successful counter-revolutionary party politics (cf. Thor von Waldstein: Metapolitics and Party Politics, Gates of Vienna). Metapolitics is the building of a shared civil and ‘cultural’ nexus in the body politic. Frau Festerling shows at least three characteristics for the establishment of such a metapolitical cultural hegemony: the courage to posit her own narrative, engagement in the battle for language, and the courage for provocation.
Frau Festerling hails from Hamburg. She is 51 years old with two grown children (Tatjanafesterling.de). Having been a member of the Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) when it was under Bernd Lucke, she left the party amid controversy over her support for Hooligans against Salafists (HOGESA) in October of 2014. In June of 2015, Frau Festerling ran for the office of Chief Mayor (Oberbürgermeister) of Dresden under a PEGIDA ticket garnering nearly 10% of the vote, which was considered a respectable showing. She dropped out of the race after a first indecisive round.
Frau Festerling begins her speech by reminding her audience that the occasion is the anniversary her first LEGIDA speech, LEGIDA being the Leipzig offshoot of PEGIDA. It is also the first anniversary of LEGIDA itself. On that occasion there were 4,800 participants according to police reports. One year later the estimate ranges from 2,000 to 3,000 participants (Epoch Times’ Live-Ticker).
Tatjana Festerling Reported to Authorities for Incitement
Before getting to the full speech itself, we draw attention to a single sentence in Frau Festerling’s talk, which in a climate of free speech might have gone unremarked, but has provoked complaints to the prosecutor’s office in Leipzig:
Were the majority of citizens in full possession of their faculties, they would take up pitchforks and beat these traitors and demagogic, people-agitating elites from the parliaments, from the courts, from the churches and from the publishing houses.
This statement, although hypothetical and properly expressed in the subjunctive, nevertheless provided an opportunity for a Berlin-based organ of the mainstream press, the Federation of German Newspaper Publishers (BDYV), to lodge an official complaint. The BDYV is an umbrella organisation for German daily, Sunday and weekly newspapers. Here is the report of the situation as it appeared in the Sächsische Zeitung (12 January 2016):
The Federation of German Newspaper Publishers [BDYV] condemned the statements which the Pegida front woman, Tatjana Festerling, made at a Legida-demo on Monday evening in Leipzig. ‘In this case, it was clearly a question of incitement of the people [Volksverhetzung] and a call to violence’, declared BDZV chief executive officer, Dietmar Wolff. Wolff requested that the Saxon judicial authorities put a stop to the activities of the Pegida leadership.
The prosecutor’s office in Leipzig, according to a spokesman, is examining whether there is a reasonable suspicion of ‘incitement of the people’. Moreover, on account of Festerling’s speech, a complaint from a Berliner has been received. It pertains to an accusation of public incitement to criminal behaviour, added the spokesman.
The following lines constitute the immediate context of the offending sentence:
And to ask the question in a completely cynical way: this time it was MERELY a sex-terror attack; AS YET there were no dead bodies, but what is lacking for the Cologne Cathedral plaza to become a slaughter plaza?
To us one thing is clear: between the capitulation on our frontiers and the collapse of the constitutional order at the Cologne’s Hauptbahnhof there exists a direct connection.
And yet de Maizière stands up at the federal press conference and stammers: “We have not made any mistake”.
Were the majority of citizens in full possession of their faculties, they would take up pitchforks and beat these traitors and demagogic, people-agitating elites from the parliaments, from the courts, from the churches and from the publishing houses.
But this is not happening, because an unbearable, ideologically moralising propriety is being forced on Germans, a moral-terrorism, which causes the reticent Germans, who believe in humanism, to crouch in their homes out of fear of “being called right-wing”. Germans are prisoners in a trap of propriety, and for that reason, the majority of Germans remain at the window behind the curtains and hope that the chalice of slaughter might pass them by [emphasis added].

Following her introductory remarks Tatjana Festerling connects the sex-jihad of New Year’s Eve in Cologne with Chancellor Merkel, referring to her in a manner reminiscent of the affectionate appellations for Stalin: Uncle Joe or Papa Stalin:
The port at Calais was shut down after some fifty migrants managed to board a ferry that was bound for Britain. 500 migrants forced their way past police lines and headed for the port, and 150 managed to breach the barrier fence. Of those, fifty made it onto the ferry.
