Taking it Out on the Kids

Threats and bullying against Jewish schoolchildren in the Netherlands have increased since the war between Hamas and Israel began earlier this month, to the point that some parents are transferring their kids to Jewish schools.

Many thanks to Gary Fouse for translating this article from De Telegraaf:

“No words for what is now happening”

CJO [Centraal Joods Overleg, Central Jewish Consultative Committee]: Jewish children threatened and bullied from school

by Vincent Lengkeek
October 20, 2021

Amsterdam — Jewish children are being threatened and bullied now that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has flared up. Dozens of parents have held discussions about transferring to one of the three Jewish schools in Amsterdam-Buitenveldert, reports the Central Jewish Consultative Committee. The organization speaks of a “troubling trend”.

“Six children have already made the change this week,” says Chairman Chanan Hertzberger, Thursday to De Telegraaf. “We hope this won’t become common, and we ask for action from the government. This is not just Amsterdam, but rather a national problem. That children must leave their school because they are threatened. I have no words for it. At least in France, they are taking tough action against it.”

According to the CJO, the Jewish community in the Netherlands is devastated by the “lack of support” from society after the bloody terror attack by Hamas last week in southern Israel and the anti-Semitic reaction to Jews abroad. “That one cannot make the distinction between Israel and Jews. A schism has arisen: You are for or against. This is how it gets completely out of hand.”

The CJO is unhappy with the action of Rotterdam city council members over a motion on Jew-hatred. According to Hertzberger, the news that the motion failed to pass hit the Jewish community like a shock. “Just that such a motion is necessary, but that several parties subsequently decided to walk away…We find it unbelievable.”

Report From Sderot: Day 11

MC is still in Sderot, and the missiles from Gaza are still falling on the city.

Have you noticed that the tide of public opinion is changing, as it usually does, from all-out support to the usual cries of “don’t hurt (Muslim) civilians”?

When Hamas hides behind civilians, then civilian casualties are Hamas’ responsibility. Except, it seems, where Israel and Jews are concerned.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken now appears to be setting conditions.

In a recent X (twitter) catfight two conservatives had a scrap over the fate of Harvard students who signed that infamous letter of support for massacring jooz. “Silly ignorant students,” said one. “Malicious anti-Semites,” said the other.

The real point is that there need to be consequences if freedom of speech is to be viable. If one supports a holocaust-like event, then one is probably a Nazi of some kind. In my experience, Nazis remain Nazis until terminated.

The Left, including Nazism, is a nasty political disease that has brought cruelty and mayhem beyond belief to this world. My wife’s sister has emailed us three times so far to express her support for Hamas against Israeli ‘apartheid’.

Most people are totally ignorant of the inner workings of the original apartheid in South Africa, and the dire consequences of its dismantling.

Apartheid means separation in Afrikaans (die taal), and was an experiment in trying to get differing cultures to live in harmony. It was partially successful until the socialists got hold of it. They turned it into a catastrophe for all concerned.

For example, the African tribesman straight from his kraal expects to be able to defecate anywhere there is room to squat (a bit like San Francisco). This behaviour is not acceptable for the white European-based culture, as they have to deal with the mess. Apartheid dictated that high walls make good neighbours and that these cultural points of friction could be mitigated by ‘separation’.

Unfortunately for South Africa it became all about skin colour, not culture, and the rest is history.

Israel is the most (skin colour) un-racist country I have ever been in. As immigrants from the UK, we stand out as ‘white’ (Anglos), and most Israelis assume that I am American.

Muslim Israelis have exactly the same rights under Basic Law as I have. However, in the areas supervised by the PA (and Hamas) under the Oslo Accords, the same is not true.

Report From Sderot: Day 7

It has been a week since the war in Gaza commenced. Our Israeli correspondent MC sends these thoughts on the occasion.

Report From Sderot: Day 7

by MC

It is once more Shabbat, but this time it is not a Moed of Yah as it was last Saturday.

The Moedim were created on the Fourth Day as intersections with Yah, but are translated out of existence such that only in the original Hebrew does one get the sense of what ‘signs and seasons’ really means.

These Moedim are explained in Leviticus 23, and are the ‘Feasts of Yah’. Note that they are not solely the feasts of the Jews.

Sukkot particularly is about tabernacling with Yah, i.e. camping out with God, giving rise to the idea of “God with us”.

The Christian ‘Christmas’ is based upon the Roman ‘Saturnalia’, a time for indulgence. When Constantine put together his universal Church he included the popular Roman festivals of Saturnalia and Ishtar to replace the Moedim of Yah.

So the Hamas attack was timed to desecrate a Moedim sequence. Will Yah forgive them?

There are many reported miracles that happened when the same actors desecrated Yom Kippur, another Moedim, in 1973. Those actors were thoroughly defeated, and but for Russian and American intervention, would have lost their own capital cities.

Yah does not suffer fools and pagans gladly. Hurricane Katrina hit at the same time as Israel was forced to evacuate Gaza to make it Judenrein for the first time in thousands of years.

Report From Sderot: Day 6

by MC

Within the definition of anti-Semitism is the concept of applying different, higher standards to Jews and Israel than are expected of others.

Israel declared war as a result of the Shabbat massacre. But only when Israel declares war is any nation expected to feed, water and supply free electricity to their enemies.

Does anybody know of this expectation being made of other nations who have declared war?

Hamas became a ‘judenrein’ political entity in 2005 and is self-governing. It has no GDP and is totally dependent on aid from other states, some of them hostile to the Western world, others comprising the humanitarian guilt-tripping of ‘useful idiot’ states.

These idiotic states enable Gaza to become a ‘hate state’ with no perceived aim other than to destroy Israel and conquer the world for Islam.

To ask the question of Israelis what about Gazan civilians, is to indulge in that wallowing anti-Semitism that simplistic journalists play to create a ‘gotcha’ moment that they so love.

The left is so obsessed with their feelings that they ignore the legal aspects of most situations. Israel has no legal responsibility to supply Gaza with anything. Hamas is solely responsible for the safety of and to supply the needs of the civilians of Gaza, but they fail badly in this primary responsibility of government. Hamas sees civilians as shields from amongst whom the fighters can shoot, and then point fingers and play the blame game.

By international law, that makes Hamas responsible for civilian casualties amongst those they hide behind. Unfortunately, Hamas gets a bye on international law, and only Israel is ever held to account…

I was horrified yesterday to find out that many conservatives support the view that it is incumbent upon Israel to support all Gazan civilians, supplying them with food, water, sanitation and electricity.

This is an egregious application of anti-Semitic double standards. Instead of asking Hamas the question, they ask Israel, as if there were a special duty incumbent upon Israel that was not shown by the allies when Dresden was bombed and Japan reduced to starvation.

Koran: Read Chapter Nine

Michael Copeland has compiled an eclectic set of references concerning the ninth surah of the Koran, whose violent commands abrogate all of the earlier peaceful verses.

Koran: Read Chapter Nine

by Michael Copeland

Read chapter nine of the Koran. This is important. The text is easily available online. The website corpus.quran.com shows parallel translations and has a “word by word” breakdown and other features.

Why is chapter nine important? It is because this is the final and latest “revelation” allegedly given to Mohammed, which overrides everything elsewhere.

Some background explanation is needed. The Koran is not arranged chronologically. The chapters are placed with the longest first and the shortest last. Accordingly, the subject matter jumps all over the place, and makes the book very confusing. About one fifth of it does not make sense and has to be “interpreted”. The language is archaic: even Arabic speakers find it difficult. Most Muslims, though, are not Arabic speakers. They are, however, instructed how to read the script, and are required only to memorise it and recite it, an action that is highly esteemed. Not required to understand what they recite, they depend on their imams to explain what it says. Imams are thus in a considerable position of control, and have for years made use of various lies, for instance the “perfect preservation” of the text (as proclaimed by Yaser Qadhi), when Islam’s own trusted sources record many historic changes.

An important aspect of the Koran is that all of it forms part of Islamic law. This is no light matter: Islam is not Pick-Your-Own. Koran 33:36 explains:

“It is not for a believer, man or woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decreed a matter that they should have any option in their decision.”

Citing this verse, Dr. Salah as Sawy, who is Secretary General for the Assembly of Muslim Jurists in America (the Association of Lawyers for Sharia in America), gave this ruling:

“For things which have been stipulated in the texts of Islam, the Muslim community possesses no power except to acknowledge and obey…”

“Acknowledge and obey”: that is the instruction. Muslims have to submit. Islam means Submission. Submission, of course, is one end of a relationship. The real importance is in the other end — Control.

Syed Abul Al’a Maududi

“No one can regard any field of his affairs as personal and private”, wrote the revered scholar Maududi in his 1960 book The Islamic Law & Constitution. Islam is a system of control, “all-encompassing”, as Tariq Ramadan expressed it. “Islam Is The Perfect System For All Mankind”, announces a placard held by an unidentifiable niqab-clad Muslim woman.

Denying any verse of the Koran brings the death penalty. This may be carried out vigilante-style by anyone without legal repercussion, “since it is killing someone who deserves to die” (Manual of Islamic Law, Reliance of the Traveller, o8.4). In Islam your brother doubles as your executioner.

Abrogation

The text of the Koran contains statements which contradict each other. The way that Islamic teaching copes with this is by the doctrine of Abrogation. Under this doctrine the later revelation “abrogates” the earlier. For this it is necessary to know which chapters are later than which others. With chapter nine there is no problem. It is the latest complete chapter, and “abrogates” all previous texts that disagree with it. Esteemed scholar Sheikh Al-Shawkani (1759-1834) says:

“[The verses] about forgiving them [the unbelievers] are abrogated unanimously by the obligation of fighting in any case.”

The significance of chapter nine, the “Sura at Tawba”, is that it sets out Islam’s instruction of permanent hostility to non-Muslims, kafirs, involving their subjugation, extortion, or else killing. It also contains the justification for suicide bombing.

  • You read that right: U.S. taxpayer dollars are set to flow to The Diyanet Center of America, thanks to the Department of Homeland Security’s ‘Nonprofit Security Grant Program’. What’s important to note here is that the Diyanet (or “Directorate of Religious Affairs in Turkey”) is an official Turkish government institution whose sprawling Lanham, MD facility is Turkish government property. It is the Washington DC Metro area hub for Turkey’s Muslim Brotherhood regime collaboration with the ADAMS Center (All Dulles Area Muslim Society Center), located near Dulles Airport in Northern Virginia. The ADAMS Center is headed by senior Muslim Brotherhood imam and former president of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), Mohamed Magid, who is the son of Sudan’s former Grand Mufti. In 2022, Magid was appointed by the Biden White House to the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom. This is not ‘Islamism’. This is U.S. Federal Government-funded jihad.

  • In November 2022, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) attended the World Cup in Qatar. Annual House financial disclosure forms filed in May 2023 now show that her trip was paid for by Qatar, one of the top supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood in the world and funder for both HAMAS and Hizballah. Omar also visited The Islamic Republic of Pakistan in April 2022, a trip paid for by the al-Qa’eda-and-Taliban-linked Pakistani government. Conveniently for her, House rules under the Mutual Educational and Cultural Exchange Act permit Members to take trips funded by foreign governments, even hostile ones like Qatar and Pakistan, provided they disclose that information on their annual financial statements. Omar, a member of the so-called “Squad” in the House is one of the most antisemitic, anti-Israel Members of Congress.

“Crocodile Tears from Jailed Muslim Brotherhood Cleric Earns Sympathy from Congress” by Benjamin Baird at Focus on Western Islamism, August 18, 2023

  • Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD) has fallen for Islamic crocodile tears from Salah Soltan, a former legal resident of the U.S., who relocated to Egypt during the 2011-2012 Islamic Uprising (sometimes still called the “Arab Spring”) and was convicted on charges including terrorism, murder, and use of explosives. Soltan is serving a life sentence in Egyptian prison, but recently penned a letter expressing supposed remorse for “the error of his ways”. Cardin and other Democratic colleagues have been urging that U.S. military aid to Egypt be conditioned on Soltan’s release from prison. None of them have taken note of Soltan’s vicious antisemitism or close support for the Muslim Brotherhood. Soltan is not an “Islamist”. He’s a devout, faithful, practicing Muslim jihadi.

Getting Rid of the Danes

It’s hard to believe that almost eighteen years have passed since the onset of the Danish Mohammed Cartoon Crisis. Kurt Westergaard’s “Turban Bomb” was the iconic image for the affair, but it’s important to remember than twelve cartoons were actually commissioned and published by Jyllands-Posten, and one of the others is shown at the top of this post.

Dymphna and I covered the Motoons — for that was the shortened version of the name that rapidly emerged in the blogosphere — in the early days of this blog. Then, a couple of years later, when I became more closely involved with the European Counterjihad, I was able to make the acquaintance of some of those doughty Danes, and got to know the Scandinavian scene fairly well.

Back then Denmark was refreshingly different. Not only did the Danes tolerate political incorrectness, they even celebrated it on certain occasions. And freedom of speech was vigorously defended, even by government ministers.

That was then; this is now.

The Danish government is planning to reintroduce a blasphemy law so that the burning of Korans can be forbidden. They have been successfully mau-maued by Muslim leaders — including Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan — who demand that the Danes and the Swedes forbid their citizens to engage in activities that Islam deems offensive.

This is a watershed moment in the history of the West. It marks the beginning of the official transfer of power from the secular humanists to the proponents of sharia. The process will be slow, but inexorable. It will probably take a couple of decades before it is complete. In the end, the tenets of Islamic law will reign supreme in what were formerly known as the Western democracies. Savvy and cynical politicians and bureaucrats will convert to Islam in order to enjoy the privileges and perquisites of the new system. Those who don’t will become second-class citizens.

It will take a while, but we’ll get there in the end.

*   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *

One of the people I was privileged to meet during my involvement with the European Counterjihad was the redoubtable Mark Steyn, who has been untiring in his struggle against sharia and in support of free speech. His latest essay is a retrospective on the Motoon crisis, and a somber recognition of the emergence of a dhimmi government in Denmark — The Danes, Gelded. Below are some excerpts:

Many years ago, my compatriot Ezra Levant observed that one day the Danish Mohammed cartoons would come to be seen as a more consequential event than 9/11. Not in the overall death toll, obviously — although the corpse count of the Motoons continues to rise (Charlie Hebdo et al) — but in its lessons for a free society’s enemies. 9/11 led to two decades of ineffectual warmongering in Afghanistan and elsewhere, and the goatherds with fertilizer soon had the measure of that. But the cartoons and the west’s reaction to them told the world that we would not defend core liberties such as freedom of speech. You don’t need to blow up our skyscrapers; we’re happy to surrender to subtler pressures.

And here we are eighteen years later, with the Danish Government proposing to criminalize the burning of the Koran and make it an offense punishable by fines and/or imprisonment.

So:

~In 2005 Jyllands-Posten, one of the biggest-selling newspapers in Denmark, as part of an exploration of the state of free speech, was willing to publish a dozen cartoons of Mohammed by prominent cartoonists.

~In 2010, on the fifth anniversary, I was given an award by the Danish Free Press Society and appeared on stage with the society’s founder Lars Hedegaard and fellow freespeechers from across the Continent: the Norwegian comedienne Shabana Rehman, the Dutch cartoonist Nekschot, the Swedish artist Lars Vilks and the Danish-Iranian actor Farshad Kholghi.

If those names don’t ring a lot of bells for you, here’s the scorecard so far:

  • Shabana Rehman’s family restaurant was firebombed, and she was forced to live under 24/7 police protection, which is not terribly conducive to a career in observational comedy. She died of cancer last year at the age of forty-six;
  • Nekschot was already under so many death threats that he could only appear at public engagements with his face obscured and unidentifiable. So in Copenhagen that day he chose to wear a burqa. Funny, but not quite secure enough. He had already been arrested for “hate speech” with the Dutch authorities openly taunting him about the impending loss of his anonymity. The year after our appearance in Denmark, he gave up cartooning and went into hiding. I assume he is still alive;
  • Lars Vilks was speaking at an event on art and blasphemy when a Muslim opened fire with a semi-automatic. A Danish film director was killed and three police officers. The jihad boy then went to a nearby synagogue and killed a second man. Lars retired from public life, and died in 2021 with two of his security detail when their unmarked police car crashed;
  • oh, and our host Lars Hedegaard was shot at point blank range, but fortunately by an incompetent. So Lars survived, but his opponent managed to flee to Turkey.

Most of the above did not impinge on the media in a big way: There were no celebrities wearing #JeSuisLars buttons. Nevertheless, of the six who were on stage that day in 2010, there would be only two of us today: me and Farshad Kholghi, last men standing in an Agatha Christie for the jihad set — And Then There Were None. Come to think of it, that might make a blackly comic play, or novel, or film… But good luck finding a publisher or producer.

~In 2015, on the tenth anniversary, I was back in Copenhagen, this time with Douglas Murray:

Like Mark Steyn I’ve been doing these ‘defend free speech’ gigs for some years now and as Mark recently mordantly observed, I also sometimes wonder why I keep ascending up the running order only to realise that it’s because everybody who used to be ahead of me is either in hiding or dead.

As Douglas also remarked:

The event will be in the Danish Parliament apparently because it’s the only place in Denmark sufficiently secure enough that — we hope — the now traditional gunmen won’t be able to get in and shoot everyone.

[…]

As Marie [Krarup] said, the walls of Christiansborg are “thick and massive”. However, I woke up on the morning of the event to find that both the US State Department and the British Foreign Office had issued travel advisories warning their nationals to steer clear of both Copenhagen in general and Christiansborg Palace in particular.

The Claimed Muslim ‘Right to Rape’

by Clare M. Lopez

The one-year anniversary of the September 16, 2022 arrest and murder of Kurdish-Iranian Mahsa Amini by Iran’s so-called ‘morality police’ is coming up. Her killing, supposedly for allowing her hijab to slip from completely covering her hair (while inside her family’s personal vehicle), set off months of street protests against the Iranian regime. These protests focus especially on the complete lack of women’s rights under the Islamic Republic of Iran’s draconian sharia regime. Despite a brutal crackdown by the regime against the protesters, those demonstrations continue today, often under the slogan “Woman, Life, Freedom”.

Koran: The Book of Kill Them

Here’s a timely reminder from Michael Copeland about the nature of the Koran.

Koran: The Book of Kill Them

by Michael Copeland

The Koran, Islam’s book, is “dripping with murderous levels of hatred”, as a critic put it. “Kill them,” it commands, of non-Muslims, kafirs, “Kill them wherever you find them.” (2:191, 9:5) “Between us [Muslims] and you enmity and hatred forever.” (60:4) “When you meet the kafirs strike the necks.” (47:4) Kafirs are “filthy” (9:28), “the vilest of beasts” (8:55), “a clear enemy to you” (4:101): “Do not take them as allies.” (4:89) “Let them find harshness in you” (9:123); “Fight the unbelievers until they pay the jizya [extortion tax] … in a state of subjection.” (9:29) Muslims are “the best of peoples raised up for mankind” (3:110), “merciful to each other, ruthless to the kafir.” (48:29)

These are not quaint Old-Testament-type exhortations from their historical time, like “Slaughter the Amalekites and Hittites.” The Koran, all of it, forms part of Islamic law. These are current instructions of Islamic law. “Muslims must kill kafirs wherever they are unless they convert.” said Ali Gomaa, the Grand Mufti of Egypt. “Islam says: kill all of the kafirs. Jihad stands for killing all kafirs. Prophet had sword to kill people,” thundered Ayatollah Khomeini. “Enmity and hate shall forever reign between us,” wrote Osama bin Laden. “Jews and Christians are filthy. Their lives and property can be taken by the Muslims in jihad,” preached Yasir Qadhi in Tennessee. “Allah, strike the Jews and… the Christians, Allah, count them and kill them to the last one” — Al-Aqsa TV (palwatch.org 2010-12-03).

The Koran is promoted as “valid from eternity to eternity,” explains Sam Solomon, a former professor of Islamic law. Its instructions are “universal and trans-time,” says Ahmed Saad, the imam of North London Central Mosque. “None may change his words,” says Koran 18:27. Denying any verse instantly makes a Muslim an apostate, one who has left Islam, a kafir. The punishment is death, with a sinister twist: the killing may be performed vigilante-style by anyone. There is no penalty, “since it is killing someone who deserves to die.” (Manual of Islamic Law, Reliance of the Traveller, o8.4) Islam is a tyranny held in place by fear. “If they had gotten rid of the punishment for apostasy Islam would not exist today”, said the famed scholar and broadcaster Yusuf al Qaradawi.

For kafirs the Koran is the Book of Kill Them, the Book of Enmity and Hatred. Islam is opposed to Christianity and Judaism, in fact all other religions, and atheism: in Saudi Arabia atheists are beheaded. Islam is much more than prayers: it is a system of governance, in Arabic a deen, with its own body of laws. “Islam is the perfect system for all mankind, Man-made laws go to Hell,” say the placards, “Ban Democracy, Implement Islam!, Islam will dominate.” Mullah Krekar explained, “Islam is not like Christianity. Our Islam is political.” Islam’s deen opposes democracy, and indeed any kind of governance other than Islamic. “Fight unbelievers”, says 8:39 “until all the deen is for Allah.” Islam has to dominate: it must be spread “by persuasion or by force” (Ibn Khaldun) to form a global Caliphate. “If anyone desire a deen other than Islam never will it be accepted of him,” says Koran 3:85.

Islam’s “Sensitivity” Scam

In his latest essay, Michael Copeland reminds us that Islam conceals its supremacist agenda under a cloak of victimhood.

Islam’s “Sensitivity” Scam

by Michael Copeland

Burning a book is harmless. No-one is injured. A point is made. It is an example of freedom of expression, as endorsed, and protected, by the constitutions of Western democratic states. Now, the burning of one particular book is being used as a pretext for threats of violence. The excuse is “sensitivity”. The burning is claimed to offend the “sensitivities” of the book’s adherents.

The book is the Koran, that text “dripping with murderous levels of hatred”, as one commenter put it. “Kill them,” it commands concerning non-Muslims, kafirs, “Kill them wherever you find them” (9:5). “Between us and you enmity and hatred forever” (60:4). “Let them find harshness in you” (9:123); “when you have inflicted slaughter upon them, then secure their bonds” (47:4). Kafirs are filthy, “the vilest of beasts” (8:55). “Do not take them as allies” (4:89). Muslims are “the best of peoples raised up for mankind” (3:110). They are “merciful to each other” and “ruthless to the kafir” (48:29). It is no surprise that this book is not liked by kafirs, who are at the receiving end of all these murderous commands. The Koran is billed as “true from eternity to eternity,” explains Sam Solomon, ex-Muslim convert to Christianity, former professor of Islamic law. “None may change his words,” says Koran 18:27.

These commands in Islam’s book are not quaint Old-Testament-type exhortations from their historical time, like “Slaughter the Amalekites and Hittites”. These are current instructions of Islamic law.

“Muslims must kill kafirs wherever they are unless they convert,”

said Ali Gomaa, Grand Mufti of Egypt.

“Islam says: kill all of the kafirs. Jihad stands for killing all kafirs,”

proclaimed Ayatollah Khomeini.

“Enmity and hate shall forever reign between us,”

wrote Osama bin Laden.

“Jews and Christians are filthy. Their lives and property can be taken by the Muslims in jihad,”

preached Yasir Qadhi in Tennessee.

There is really no mistaking the recurrent message of the Koran — murderous intolerance and apartheid. What many people do not know is that all of the book forms part of Islamic law. Denying any verse instantly makes a Muslim an apostate, one who has left Islam. The punishment is death. The killing can be performed vigilante-style by anyone, and carries no penalty, “since it is killing someone who deserves to die” (Manual of Islamic Law, Reliance of the Traveller, o8.4). Islam is held in place by fear. “If they had gotten rid of the punishment for apostasy Islam would not exist today”, said the famous scholar and broadcaster Yusuf al Qaradawi.

For all the many kafirs in the world the Koran is the Book of Kill Them, the Book of Enmity and Hatred. Islam is opposed to Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, in fact all other religions, as well as atheism: in Saudi Arabia atheists are beheaded.
