Éric Zemmour: “Israel’s Struggle is That of Our Civilization”

In the following video, the popular French commentator and former presidential candidate Éric Zemmour discusses the attack by Hamas. He describes its connections to the Muslim Brotherhood and the global jihad against unbelievers.

Video transcript:

00:00   My dear friends, since October 7, the land of Israel
00:04   has been the target of a vast offensive led by Hamas.
00:07   The jihadist organization has infiltrated everywhere, opened fire on civilians,
00:11   taken more than a hundred hostages, fired thousands of rockets.
00:16   This massive attack has already killed more than 700 and injured 2,200 as of the time I speak.
00:22   And this is only the beginning. Hamas is waging a brutal, bloody war in Israel.
00:28   It is a jihadist group stemming directly from the Muslim Brotherhood,
00:32   a movement that hasn’t yet been outlawed in France.
00:36   Hamas’ motto does not refer to Palestinian nationalism,
00:41   as the far left pretends to believe.
00:45   No, Hamas’ motto is as follows:
00:48   “Allah is its goal, the Prophet is the model, the Koran is its constitution,
00:53   jihad its path, and death for the sake of Allah its most sublime belief.”
00:59   This is what Hamas is. Not a movement for national liberation, not even a revolutionary league:
01:06   an Islamic group, a jihadist militia.
01:10   And as it has always done in the Middle East, in Asia or in the West,
01:15   jihad takes it out on civilians and innocents.
01:19   The cruelty of its attacks leaves us speechless.
01:22   What is this culture that dares to take a grandmother as a hostage,
01:25   who has already experienced so many wars, with a Kalashnikov?
01:29   What is this culture that spits on the body of a naked,
01:34   soiled and disarticulated young woman thrown behind a truck?
01:39   What is this culture that, as at the Bataclan,
01:42   catches young people in the middle of a party by surprise,
01:45   to shoot them and kill them like dogs?
01:50   What is this culture that, like in the Jewish school of Toulouse,
01:54   shoots a child in the head just because he is Jewish?
01:58   And what about the millions of fans of Hamas who live in our country,
02:02   in Europe, in France, in our streets,
02:05   who rejoice right now in the heart of our suburbs,
02:09   and sometimes even on the benches of our National Assembly?
02:13   Why should this tragic conflict, which takes place so far from home,
02:17   immediately result in protection on the periphery of our synagogues and schools?
02:24   I have been telling you for years:
02:27   the massive presence of the fans of Hamas on our soil
02:31   puts the French of Jewish faith at risk,
02:35   like each of us.
02:38   The jihadists who strike Israel today
02:41   are the same as those who have killed in our country in recent years.
02:46   They have the same law, the same enemies, the same methods.
02:51   The international jihadist strikes everywhere.
02:54   Everywhere, it can count on the same support,
02:57   and the French left is shamefully part of it.
03:01   Once again, it has crossed the Rubicon, it has submitted and it has dishonored itself.
03:07   We have seen the “French Insoumise” party of Jean-Luc Mélenchon
03:11   place the jihadists of Hamas and the forces of the Israeli army on the same level,
03:16   and even justify this attack.
03:20   We saw the former drug trafficker, the deputy LFI Louis Boyard,
03:24   choose this day to affirm that “France had turned a blind eye
03:29   to the colonization and the exploitation in Palestine too long ago.”
03:33   We have seen the NPA party calling for “necessary solidarity
03:37   with the resistance struggles against oppression and occupation.”
03:41   We have seen the “Palestine will win” collective
03:45   rejoice in the attack by Hamas.
03:48   I remember that last year, the Council of State prevented the government
03:53   from dissolving this group, friendly to jihadists.
03:57   In order to pander to its new voters, the left will do anything.
04:01   Notice that those who keep talking about the quislings of 80 years ago
04:06   are almost always those who want to make us forget that they are the quislings of today.
04:11   Those who claim that “I will defend Pétain” are always the enemies of the Jews
04:18   of Israel and France. Against these people, I want to assure Israel of our total support.
04:26   You know, I am a Jew myself, but those who know me know my reticence on this subject.
04:32   Today, what is happening in Israel goes even further than the fate of the Jews, of the Israelis
04:38   and even of the French. Israel’s struggle is that of our civilization.
04:43   The 21st century, as Samuel Huntington predicted,
04:47   has become, unfortunately for us and for our children, the century of the clash of civilizations.
04:54   Israel is a stronghold of our civilization in the Middle East.
04:59   For the Islamic world, it even stands as the advance point of its fight against us.
05:04   It is a matter of honor to them that such a small state, as large as Switzerland.
05:09   inhabited by barely 9 million souls, is able stand up against 57 Islamic countries
05:15   populated by 2 billion inhabitants. It’s unbearable to them!
05:19   This is why the wrath of Hamas is has been unleashed.
05:22   This is why we must support them [Israelis].
05:25   The fate of Israel must put us on alert.
05:28   For the moment, the French are watching on television what may happen to them tomorrow,
05:33   if they continue to let a civilization that hates them settle on their soil.
05:38   If nothing is done, nothing will prevent the partition of our country.
05:43   Then our streets will know the same fate as the Israeli streets.
05:47   Then it will be our children who will be held hostage,
05:51   our loved ones who will be shot in the street,
05:54   our daughters whose bodies will be displayed like the one of that poor Israeli woman.
06:00   We must never forget that for ten years France has already been the European country
06:05   most affected by jihadism. 300 French people have already fallen before the bullets of jihad.
06:12   Since yesterday, Israel has been responding and fighting with strength and courage.
06:17   The Israelis will not yield. They are not afraid of showing their strength,
06:21   nor of counterattacking, unlike our governments.
06:25   So instead of wasting time on speeches, the government should do its part.
06:31   It must finally outlaw the Muslim Brotherhood, which is what Hamas stems from.
06:36   It must dissolve the pro-Palestinian groups that support jihad.
06:42   Above all, It must show firmness and track down
06:45   the foot soldiers of the international jihadists everywhere.
06:49   In the meantime, Israel can count on us.
06:53   I have a particular thought for all the French people who settled in Israel,
06:58   for their families who remained in France, who live in the fear of the last few days.
07:04   France must rescue the Franco-Israelis by evacuating all those who want to leave.
07:10   To them and to all the others, I say: hang on, do not give up.
07:14   The war will be long, but it is just and necessary.
07:18   You will live and you will win. Good luck; you can count on us.

  1. This is so annoying and tiresome to hear.

After years of seeing a constant tit-for-tat between Israeli jews and “palestinians” one becomes inured to accusations of atrocities and violence.

Both groups lay claim to the same land, and both are implacable in their refusal to negotiate or come to some kind of compromise. I doubt the “palestinians” have the ability to drive the joos into the sea, and the Israelis for whatever reason lack the male generative organs to just gas or nuke the squatters into Paradise and finally be done with it.

As for Zemmour, the same thing was just said about the evil Vlad and why the kholhols must be supplied with weapons and unaudited money “for as long as it takes”. And before that, why American servicemen needed to have their limbs blown off in IED attacks while driving about in endless circles in muslim-infested lands to fight a “war on terror”.

Why is it so impossible for the masses of simpletons to game this out to its logical conclusion and ask themselves just what do they see as the end points of these fool’s errands? And if they aren’t willing to go risk their own worthless hides trying to teach palestinians a lesson then how can they justify sending others to do what they refuse to do (looking at you Ben Shapiro).

    • I can understand you and in the deepest darkest corner of my mind I am so tired that I just wish for them to do the Thunderdome.

You know, Two enter and only one leaves alive.

But unfortunately it is not just the Palestinians that hate the jews. It is ALL muslims. (Yes, some muslims pretend to be nice, but there is something called Tayiqqa aka deception, so you cant be sure.)

So, you would have about 1 billion muslims against 30 million jews. Rather one-sided.

      • It’s not only muslims that dislike joos.

If they are truly so intelligent then it begs the question of why the ones at the top of western society keep doing things detrimental to that society and guaranteed to provoke anger and generate ill will when knowledge of their corrosiveness eventually gets out.

  2. For heaven’s sake, the Israelis have compromised many times.

Somehow the mainstream media as well as progressives don’t seem to understand that Israel left Gaza 18 years ago, abandoning settlements and evicting Israelis. Israel’s reward for this was a barrage of rockets and terrorist attacks.

If Gaza is the oppressed, open-air prison camp that they claim, who is doing the imprisonment? Gaza shares the same seacoast as Israel. Why haven’t they developed it? The Palestinians have received more money aid, per person, than any people on the face of the earth. What have they done with this money? Why haven’t they developed their educational systems in 18 years? If they had, they could have had a group of young people developing businesses etc. Why haven’t they developed anything in 18 years except terrorism? With all the money they have been given, what have they done with it? They could have developed their Palestinian state. Why didn’t they do this? All they needed to do was ask for help. Israel even supplied their water and electricity, often at no cost to them. They put the money they saved into armaments and terrorism (what didn’t disappear into the bank accounts of their leaders).

About Israel’s right to defend itself: What would you, personally, do if a group of heavily armed terrorists walked down your street, breaking into houses and murdering people, including children? What would you want your government to do? Would you want your government to stop them temporarily, knowing they will be back, in time, to kill again and again and again? Or would you want your government to get rid of them permanently? Would getting rid of them permanently be a “disproportionate” response?

The progressives and the media seem to think that the Palestinians had been in Israel “for hundreds of years” and were dispossessed by the Jews. This is not true. When visitors like Mark Twain visited the holy land in the 19th century, they were shocked at how empty the land was. It was the possession of the Ottoman Turks, not the “Palestinians.” There were a few towns and there was Jerusalem. There has been a Jewish presence in Israel since ancient times. In 1896, the population of Jerusalem was majority Jewish! Most of the Arab inhabitants of the land were Bedouins and were nomadic. The majority of the Arab population came into Israel only after the Jews started arriving in greater numbers–because the Jews brought economic development and there were jobs. During Israel’s War of Liberation, many Arabs fled Israel–many because the approaching Arab armies told them to do so and that they could come back after the Jews were defeated and pushed out. (Some stayed and are a large minority in Israel). But it didn’t turn out as they expected. Some Arabs fled as the result of the fighting–it was war and this unfortunately is what happens in war. Israel, wisely, would not let them back in after the war. An approximately equal number of Jews were expelled from Muslim countries and most went to Israel–in other words there was an exchange of populations. This is what happens during and after a war.

Do you know that after the American Revolution tens of thousands of Loyalists fled to Canada? Do you think that the Canadians herded them into refugee camps and refused to let them settle in Canada? Why not? It’s what the Arab countries did with Palestinians. And the camps’ populations burgeoned. Many Arabs saw in them an opportunity to be supported without working and so joined them, becoming “Palestinians.” Filled with grievance of course.

The Palestinians have had at least 3 or 4 opportunities to have their Palestinian State. All they would have had to do was to agree to Israel’s right to exist and lay down their arms. This they refused to do. Their response was always violence.

As has been said: If the Arabs would lay down their arms there would be peace. If the Israelis laid down their arms there would be no more Israel.

Remember, the Hamas charter calls for the destruction of Israel and this has never been abrogated or changed.
What do you think their chant of “From the River to the Sea” means?

I agree that we do not want American servicemen risking their lives on Israeli soil. But I do think we should support Israel. And I hope that what has happened there will not happen here due to the many terrorists the Progressives have allowed to walk across our southern border into our country.

    • “Israel left Gaza 18 years ago, abandoning settlements and evicting Israelis. Israel’s reward for this was a barrage of rockets and terrorist attacks.”

Yup. As well as a number of flourishing businesses, all of which the Mohammedanists destroyed upon arrival.

      • That was the Six Day War when Jews were pressured to leave Gaza. They left beautiful fruit bearing orchards and green houses full of vegetables and fruit.

When the Muzzies inherited it they no idea how to garden the farms so they asked the Jews to come back and teach them how to keep the farms up. The Hebrews came back, taught them gardening skills and when they left the muslims destroyed the whole operation.

    • I have always practiced the tried and true methods of overkill is highly under rated when dealing with muslims.

  3. @ The Moon

Re: “Why is it so impossible for the masses of simpletons to game this out to its logical conclusion and ask themselves just what do they see as the end points of these fool’s errands? ”

It is tempting to criticize or even to feel contempt for the masses, but that is an error in judgment, IMHO…. or it is, at least if they are ever to be persuaded to join the side of those fighting the good fight.

If you look at Joe/Jane Sixpack out there in “Flyover Land,” a.k.a. the America between the coasts and outside of places like Washington, D.C. and Hollywood, ordinary people are working hard just to stay afloat in an increasingly hostile economic and cultural environment. The ones with a lot of responsibilities besides their work, such as care of children or other family, etc. – have precious little time to devote to studying international or for that matter national affairs.

And when they do look at the news, how many of them go to sources outside the mainstream media and all of the usual propaganda outlets and infotainment? And that’s if they can tear themselves away from the electronic “Bread and Circuses” of the internet, movies, cable TV, video games, smart phones and the rest of it.

The entire system is set up such that ordinary people are kept in the dark as much as possible about what is really going on in the world and in their country. The last thing that the powers-that-be want is for the sheep – the tax cattle – to be disturbed and thereby stop feeding them via their tax dollars and consumer spending.

Even if that Joe or Jane Sixpack is curious about the world and goings-on, he or she faces a tall order staying on top of all of that and doing all of the other things in life…. eating, sleeping, exercising, paying bills, caring for family and friends, holding down a job, etc.

Again, this is by design. The top dogs in society want the peons busy, so busy that they don’t look up long-enough to figure out how badly they’re being screwed over by the folks who run things.

One last point: Normalcy bias is real, and so is confirmation bias. Meaning that people are heavily-conditioned (even brainwashed) to expect today to be like yesterday, and tomorrow to be like today. Confirmation bias adds to the problem in that people “see” what they expect to see, more often than not.

It takes a good bit of discipline, moral fortitude and intellectual rigor to break out of these intellectual and cognitive strait-jackets, and even then none of us is ever really free of such biases and others like them. The best we can do is to be aware of them and combat their distortion of our perception and thinking as well as we can. And reality-check ourselves against others worthy of our respect.

I do share your frustration with the “Normies” of society, to an extent. But it is well to remember that such people are helpful – even necessary – for the function and perpetuation of society most of the time. It is only when things go haywire and atypical that their single-minded focus upon what is in front of them gets to be problematical.

    • Normies/the masses/Joe & Jane Sixpack are prime examples of why allowing almost everyone 18 & above with a pulse (and even those without) to vote is a Very Bad Idea.

I do agree with everything you illustrated, but I disagree with what to do about it.

The blatant and obvious emotional manipulation from the MSM these last several days is enough to make one want to vomit. Most people I know in meatspace who have asked me what I think have opinions shaped by the MSM propaganda. It says a lot about who really controls us that muslims matched against jews in the Grievance Olympics are getting the worst of it.

Frankly, I dislike both sides immensely and want both of them to lose, or barring that, slaughter each other in the tens or hundreds of thousands. But what is being pushed here and even many on this site have fallen for is an instinctive revulsion of muslims combined with trumpeted atrocities committed by them leading to calls for wars with Iran, plus lots of dollars and weapons. This idea that the enemy of my enemy is my friend is foolish. The enemy of my enemy doesn’t particularly like us very much but will gladly use misplaced sympathy to get us to do their bidding.

And this lack of ability to use critical thinking is what annoys me the most about this situation. I am old enough that this isn’t my first rodeo. Western populations are too dumbed down and incapable of using their heads for anything but a holder for their backwards sportsball caps or a place to display their unnaturally colored hair. And I fear their is no fixing or reversing this problem without removing this forest of deadwood from the gene pool and restarting from scratch on the other side of the death of our dying civilization.

      • We might be headed in that direction. Civilization is but a thin veil on savage human nature. I don’t quite know what to make of some conspiracy theories that predict a drastic reduction of the world’s population is being planned and executed by dark powers (and the panjandrums who spread them around know their names already), but such theories always gain traction when observable developments can be interpreted in a way as if those theories were true. It is really palpable that trouble is brewing and conflict is in the air over many areas, and it can break out and spiral out of control very easily, any time and reach any magnitude. Politicians are dumb and greedy, and intransigent belief systems fuel the masses. Until this changes, we’ll have cycles of destruction.

      • “Frankly, I dislike both sides immensely and want both of them to lose, or barring that, slaughter each other in the tens or hundreds of thousands.”

Perhaps, I’m misreading you?… Are you saying that the Israelis (Jews) and Mohammedanists’re EQUALLY guilty for the current war and the acts that sparked it; and that you wish they slaughter each other??

        • No, I said nothing of the sort.

I said that I dislike both sides immensely and want both of them to lose.

I could care less how it started.

Christians have a bad habit of thinking that joos are allies because both have been on the receiving end of islamic violence.

Put another way, this is the equivalent of the nazis invading the Soviet Union. Just because the nazis attacked the Soviets doesn’t mean the Soviets are our friends.
