Stephen Coughlin: Suppressing “Hate Speech” Means Suppressing Free Speech

The Human Dimension* Implementation Meeting of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) convened for its second week in Warsaw. A team from the transatlantic Counterjihad is there to take part in the proceedings.

Stephen Coughlin, representing Unconstrained Analytics, gave the following intervention this afternoon. Many thanks to Vlad Tepes for uploading this video:

*   The OSCE’s “Human Dimension” project gives governments and NGOs the opportunity to send representatives to discuss policies and initiatives of interest to all the member states of the OSCE. In the last few years it has been mostly co-opted by Muslim groups under the guidance of the OIC.

Bombing in Downtown Budapest

On Saturday night there was a major explosion in downtown Budapest that was originally reported in the media as a likely gas leak. However, by Sunday morning it became clear that the blast was caused by a bomb, and that police officers were deliberately targeted. Two officers were seriously wounded, and one (the female officer) is in critical condition.

Below is a video excerpt from a press conference given by the chief of police and the prosecutor’s office in Budapest. Many thanks to CrossWare for the translation, and to Vlad Tepes for the subtitling:

Gates of Vienna News Feed 9/25/2016

Arcan Cetin, the young Turkish man who allegedly killed five people in a mall near Seattle, is also alleged to have shouted a female name several times as he allegedly opened fire in Macy’s. His ex-girlfriend was formerly employed at that same store, but quit three months ago. His motive is still unknown, but the FBI says it is not ruling out terrorism.

In other news, the AfD party (Alternative für Deutschland, Alternative for Germany), has recorded its highest ever poll numbers, definitively establishing itself as the third-largest party in the country.

Geert Wilders on Trial Again: “I Cannot Take Back the Truth”

Geert Wilders, the leader of the Party for Freedom in the Netherlands, is currently enduring his third trial for “hate speech”. The first time a mistrial was declared after it was revealed that one of the judges may have attempted to suborn one of the defense witnesses. The second time Mr. Wilders was acquitted.

This time he is being prosecuted for asking his supporters whether they wanted more or fewer Moroccans in their country. Due to security concerns, the trial is taking place in a high-security courtroom at Schiphol Airport.

The proceedings opened on Friday, September 23. Below is a video of Mr. Wilders’ opening statement to the court. Many thanks to Dr. Van Helsing for the translation, and to Vlad Tepes for the subtitling:

Angie and the Shark

How much criticism of Chancellor Angela Merkel is allowed in Germany?

That question was raised by, of all things, a sand sculpture at an amusement park near Berlin. The sculpture was originally a mild political jibe at the chancellor, but has since been sanitized. It’s not clear whether the change was due to censorship or self-censorship.

Many thanks to Nash Montana for translating this article from Politically Incorrect:

Lèse Majesté at the Amusement Park

How much criticism does the Merkel regime tolerate? How much criticism is democratically legitimate? When Böhmermann wrote his sarcastic poem against Erdogan, most people were of the opinion that this should be allowed in the realm of satire. Sentiment was more on Böhmermann’s side than on the reviled Sultan’s. And after the poem came out, the Turk was ridiculed for his lack of humor and his small minded petulance. So much for Erdogan. But what does it look like with Merkel? Can one make such crude jokes about her?

One of our readers visited the amusement park “Karl’s Erlebnis Dorf” in Eistal near Berlin on July 1. There he discovered a 20-meter-wide and four-meter-high novel sand sculpture, and he took a few pictures in order to feast on the visuals later on. An artist had modeled Angela Merkel in a life-preserver, threatened by a shark. Not exactly spectacular, but very funny and with quite a clever political undertone.

Recently our reader returned there with his family, and he told us about his visit:

Wake up, Poland: Jihad is also Migration

Anestos Canelides’ latest essay reminds of the repeated incursions of the Ottoman Turks into Polish lands, and the staunch Polish resistance to the Turkish jihad over the centuries.

Wake up, Poland: Jihad is also Migration

by Anestos Canelides

It is not shocking to see Pope Francis, a globalist puppet, attempt to put the Polish people on a guilt trip to make them embrace the largely Muslim immigrants into Poland as refugees. Why does the Pope want to bring these Muslim immigrants into Poland? How will this benefit Poland culturally? Or is it a threat to their way of life and freedoms? Will it enrich Poland, or become cultural suicide for the Polish people?

From the mouth of the Pope — Addressing civil authorities and members of the country’s diplomatic corps, the Pope states:

….being aware of identity was “indispensable for establishing a national community on the foundation of its human, social, political, economic and religious heritage,” but that people must remain open to renewal and to change. He added that while good memory can remind society of God and his saving work.

Pope Francis called on the people of Poland to hold on to their positive memories so they can look to the future with hope in respecting human dignity, economical and environmental concerns and “the complex phenomenon of migration.[1]

In reality, the Pope wants the Polish people to adapt to the changes that will arise with Islamic immigration. The Poles must conform to the cultural needs and religious demands of these so-called refugees (really invaders). These changes are bound to bring cultural conflict with the new arrivals. Migration is a form of violent or stealth jihad, and with Poland’s low birth rate and the high birth rate of Muslims, it would not take all that long for the Muslims to outnumber the Poles.

An interesting YouTube video spells out the danger of mass Islamic immigration.

This is a warning to the people of Poland, Germany, and other western nations to stop this mass Islamic migration. Poland must not forget its long history with the Islamic Ottoman Empire.

Remember what the Pope said:

Who Bombed the UN Aid Convoy in Syria?

A few days ago there were major headlines in all the media outlets about the bombing of a UN aid convoy in Syria. The United States blamed Russia for the attack (see this article from the Military Times that summarizes the testimony of Marine Gen. Joseph Dunford, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, before the Senate Armed Services Committee).

Russia denies responsibility. Given that this comes on the heels of the “accidental” American bombing of Syrian regime forces, one has to wonder who is lying. When dealing with Russian geopolitical operations, disinformation is the norm. But our side puts out its own share of disinformation, so the whole thing becomes a hall of mirrors.

Below is a Russian military briefing on what happened on September 19. It makes me wonder if there is any non-classified way to confirm or refute this officer’s assertion about the Predator drone taking off from a Turkish airbase.

When the Con Artist Acts Generous

The following op-ed by Hans Heckel looks at the ever-elusive tax cuts that are promised repeatedly to German voters, and the increasingly shrill (and ineffective) outbreaks of the Screaming Nazi Heeber-Jeebers in Germany.

Many thanks to JLH for this translation from Die Preußische Allgemeine Zeitung:

When the Con Artist Acts Generous

How many times tax relief has been promised, what came of it and how Frauke Petry invited attack

Week in Review by Hans Heckel

September 17, 2016

Is it time for elections already? Today already, the government is promising Germans a total of €6.3 billion in tax reductions. That is supposed to happen in two stages, i.e. 2017 and 2018. Since that is nailed down now, we are free to believe confidently in it.

After all, that’s what we always did when announcements from the chancellor’s party put a gleam in our eyes. In 2005, with little effort and a slight head-start, Merkel clambered onto the chancellor’s throne ahead of Schröder. She also got votes out of gratitude for her agreement to noticeably lower taxes.

The VAT would rise a compensatory two points, so that the state would not have to accumulate more debt. The SPD rejected that completely. In the end, they came to an agreement — instead of the VAT rising not at all (SPD) or by two points (CDU), it would rise three points, from 16 to 19%. We were a little impatient in those days. But it was not long, luckily, for the word in the 2009 elections was, again, Merkel intends to lower taxes. Of course we voted for her because of that. Who wanted to miss out on a windfall?

Windfall? Not a sou, and some people took it badly, but astonishingly, not against the chancellor’s party. Their new coalition partner, the Free Democratic Party, struggled in vain to lower the tax burden. At one point we were able to see a demonically grinning Finance Minister Schäuble sitting next to the helplessly commiserating FDP head, Rösler, as though the old fox was saying, “Run around all you want, little twerp, I’ve laid traps everywhere.”

The liberals didn’t have a chance. They couldn’t pass anything and consequently, by 2013, they were vaporized. Not so the ruling party, which won our complete confidence again in 2013 with the ever-new “CDU will lower taxes.” That was three years ago, which is why it’s time to lay the scratchy old record on the turntable. And behold, it scratches just as enticingly as ever!

And how will that go after the election? We can predict that with some exactitude, by looking at 2002 and the following election year. Unexpectedly, “new, unforeseen challenges” will arise which make a tax reduction “unsustainable at this point in time.”

The idea of “noticeable tax relief” chosen by the house of Schäuble is noteworthy in and of itself, if you are looking at a sum of €6 billion. This year alone, the finance minister will generate a budget surplus of €18 billion, is the proud announcement out of Berlin.

“Generate” sounds wonderfully solid, honest and competent. But money can be handled. Right? Well, if you look behind the lovely curtain, that pretty phrase turns to dust in your mouth, because what you see there is more a legal con game than a solid economic triumph.

The third trial of Geert Wilders on “hate speech” charges opened today in a high-security courtroom at the Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands. Mr. Wilders’ lawyer argued before the judges for a dismissal of the case, saying that it could not be sustained on the merits.

Gagging Tim Burton (Again)

Britain, Sweden, and Germany are vying with each other to see who can spiral down the multicultural drain the fastest. It’s hard to tell which one is ahead — every time Sweden comes up with some new monstrosity, Germany pushes ahead with its own politically correct absurdity. And then the UK puts someone new on trial for “hate speech”.

As far as I can determine, Britain leads the Western world in the number of hate-speech prosecutions per capita. More British people are fitted up, hauled before a judge, and bunged into chokey than in any other supposedly free country. Tommy Robinson’s case is the most well-known, but it’s important to remember that there are many, many others.

Tim Burton of Liberty GB has already been through the multicultural mill, as reported here two and a half years ago. But the Crown Prosecution Service was evidently disappointed with his acquittal, and has decided to have another go at him for “Racially/Religiously Aggravated Harassment”.

Here’s the report from Liberty GB. There’s a donate button there — please considered clicking it to help Tim out:

Freedom of Speech under Attack — Again

18 Sept, 2016

Long-time supporters of Liberty GB will recall that memorable day just over two years ago when, in a rare moment of sanity afforded by the British criminal justice system, freedom of speech was upheld at Birmingham Magistrates Court. On Tuesday 8th April 2014, Tim Burton of Liberty GB was acquitted of unjust and trumped-up charges of Racially Aggravated Harassment. These charges resulted from several innocuous tweets that had been sent to the infamous Mendacious Grievance-Mongering Taqiyya-Artist-In-Chief, Fiyaz Mughal of Tell Mama UK.

However, freedom of speech is once again under threat, as Fiyaz Mughal — ‘Old Fizzy Bollocks’ as he is currently known in the public domain — has persuaded the Metropolitan Police (via the Crown Prosecution Service) to pursue more charges of Racially/ Religiously Aggravated Harassment against Tim, this time for the heinous crime of applying (tongue-in-cheek) for the advertised job of caseworker — in the belly of the beast so to speak — at the offices of Tell Mama UK themselves. Like many of us, Tim felt that Tell Mama UK were doing quite enough damage on their own without an additional caseworker to further threaten our freedoms.

Needless to say, it transpires that the rock-dwelling bottom feeders at Tell Mama UK lack any sense of humour whatsoever, as may be deduced from the extremely heavy-handed and pompous response that emanated from that organisation, which, rather than taking Tim’s email as a bit of light-hearted banter, promptly informed Tim that they were passing his email to the authorities — specifically, the Metropolitan Police.

You may be surprised to learn that Tim was rather taken aback by this response, and he wrote several more emails to Tell Mama UK (in the same light-hearted vein) to say as much. After all, at no time had he written anything that could be construed as causing harassment, nothing to cause fear, terror, alarm or distress, and at no time did he write anything of a persecuting or threatening nature, or anything that could be construed as in any way aggressive. And yet the Crown Prosecution Service subsequently saw fit to authorise charges of harassment, and not just your run-of the mill, everyday harassment either. This was full-blown, red-in-tooth-and-claw, Racially/ Religiously Aggravated Harassment, the kind of harassment charge that strikes fear into the most stalwart heart and is capable of making strong men tremble in their boots.

Because, make no mistake, conviction on this charge carries with it a substantial jail sentence and/ or a hefty fine. Contrast all this with the treatment of Tim by the Crown Prosecution Service last year, when the CPS refused to press charges against a gang of Muslims who had assaulted Tim in the street — in front of a witness — as he was campaigning as a Parliamentary Candidate for Liberty GB in the 2015 General Election. On that occasion Tim’s campaign materials were stolen and he was left badly shaken up. Even though the perpetrators were identified by the police, the CPS stated in writing that prosecution would “not be in the public interest”.

Do You Have to Try Every Stupid Thing You Think Of?

Ava Lon normally spends most of her time translating Polish, German, and French for Vlad Tepes and Gates of Vienna, but sometimes she reads and comments at both blogs.

The following essay has been adapted from a response she made to a comment at Vlad’s place on an article from the Polish press that she translated.

Do You Have to Try Every Stupid Thing You Think Of?

by Ava Lon

To Perfect Child:

You think that even though Islam is an evil ideology, it should be legal, because outlawing it would be against the First Amendment.

There are good ideas and bad ideas. A car with square wheels is a bad idea, and anyone who would like to drive it will find that out at their first attempt. It takes less than five minutes to figure it out, for those who believed that theoretically it should work and that it was worth to build it to convince themselves.

What if, on the restaurant menu, in the drinks section, they put, in addition to iced tea, sodas and fruit juices, a bolder option: Poison? Now we could discuss it and see if we all agree whether it’s a good or a bad idea to drink poison, or we could just try it, because we are free to try everything ourselves. Could you still be upset with the restaurant for selling poison if they warned you, and you drank it anyway?

Islam is poison. It is warning you what it is, and yet you accept the invitation?

There are bad ideas that will take longer than five minutes to show how bad they are: we can indeed not only talk about them every time ( which I strongly recommend), but additionally try them out (which isn’t necessary, in my opinion, if it has already been demonstrated how bad they are). But is using your fragile body, instead of your stronger, more resilient mind (an idea can upset you, but won’t kill your mind) a really good idea?

There’s confusion between discussing Islam (which should be allowed and encouraged), and letting Islam be Islam and do what it does. There’s confusion between theory and practice, between speech and action. There are several problems related to that second thing, action: we already have laws that forbid what Islam does; so we don’t have to forbid it separately. Oh, no? This is very contradictory:

  • on the one hand, you forbid stealing, but you allow Islam (which actively encourages stealing from infidels). Why would you make exception for Islam?
  • You forbid murder, yet you allow Islam, (which encourages the killing of infidels, gays, apostates, rape victims and cheating wives). Why would you make an exception for Islam and allow it?
  • You forbid false witness in court and slander, yet you are OK with Islam (whose doctrines of taqiyya and kitman mandate that their adherents to lie in order to promote Islam). Why Islam preaching deception is all right with you?

You let them build mosques, worship, wear unhealthy — and in many ways dangerous — clothing (no peripheral vision when driving, and who is hiding beneath that burka or niqab?), segregate boys from girls, practice FGM, marry prepubescent girls, rape little boys, and so on. Do you say, “Stop”, or do you talk about it and wait until they feel so inadequate and ridiculous that they stop all that nonsense by themselves?

Have you seen that happen, ever?

If You’re a Copt, Mocking ISIS is the Same as Mocking Islam

Four Coptic teenagers in Egypt were given prison sentences for making fun of the Islamic State. They were very fortunate, however — before having to serve their sentences, they escaped and were given religious asylum in Switzerland. I’m not sure they would have been granted asylum in the USA, given the anti-Christian policies of the Obama administration.

The incident described by Dr. Ramelah in this post occurred when the Coptic boys were 15 and 17 years old. This article in The Daily Mail has more.

Egyptian youths escape Sharia inferno

by Ashraf Ramelah

Mocking Islam or mocking the prophet of Islam spells doom. In Egypt you will be arrested, your home and property confiscated, and coerced to “emigrate” from your town. Then count on a five-year prison term. This was exactly the penalty for four Coptic Christian school boys, aged 14 through 17, and their teacher.

Modernity grazed the 7th century when a lost cell phone turned up in the hands of a sectarian street thug ready for Sharia justice against its owner. The sim card showed a video of a 36-second skit mocking ISIS terrorists praying to Allah. Away from home on a school trip, the boys used their teacher’s phone to record the funny scene they acted out, thinking ISIS was fair game and knowing that Islam was not. Unfortunately for them, the cell phone was lost or stolen and missing for a solid year. Found by Muslims who became offended by the “blasphemy”, the Egyptian courts overlooked the violent retaliation by the gang, who were prompted to attack homes and businesses, and instead arrested the boys and their teacher.

On the same day Muslims struck the town, the police were notified and arrested the four Coptic boys and their teacher. Before their convictions by the courts, the Christian blasphemers were forced to apologize. One month later, on May 27, 2015, the boys were released on bail, and February of this year they were sentenced to prison for five years. They were allowed to pay a two thousand pound fee per student to temporarily suspend the verdict’s start date because they were not present at the sentencing.

This last fact was a big factor in reversing their fortunes. The boys were facing the devastation of their remaining adolescence. They would soon be housed behind bars in cells with jihadists, possibly members of the Muslim Brotherhood or worse. The prospect was bleak, but all is well now thanks to anonymous channels.

The hidden hand of a courageous heart behind the scenes knowing the complexity of such matters delivered the four boys from the Egyptian inferno. They were enabled to tackle security to obtain their passports and move through customs bound for Turkey (a country with bad diplomatic relations with Egypt). As tragic, glaring examples of religious tyranny with “refugee” status as defined by the U.N, the boys arrived in Switzerland where their request for religious asylum was granted.

Upon arrival to safety in the West, one of the boys told a news reporter, “There was no reason to be treated like that; it was all a joke, but now we may have an opportunity for a better life.”

Egyptian authorities are alarmed by reactions around the world related to the story and the negative publicity. The state is now bombarded with criticisms of the regime and its court system broadcast by brave media hosts in Egypt. The conversation continues, with some saying the boys were wrong to escape their sentencing; it would have been better for them to respect the courts, honor their country, and serve their time.

Of course the real goal of Sadat and Saudi Arabia is clear; as stated decades earlier, the Middle East must be cleansed of Christians. The question remains: will Islam succeed?

Gates of Vienna News Feed 9/22/2016

More than half a million migrants are still living in Germany, even though their asylum applications were rejected. Most of them have been in the country for more than six years. Meanwhile, according to a recent poll, 57% of Germans are afraid of the Islamization of their country.

In other news, a Massachusetts landlady who is also a Christian minister was convicted of pushing her Muslim tenant down the stairs. One of her probation conditions is that she must learn more about the Muslim faith.
