Deutsche Bank Woes Sparks Concerns Among German Lawmakers

Deutsche Bank AG’s finances, weakened by low profitability and mounting legal costs, are raising concern among German politicians after the U.S. sought $14 billion to settle claims related to the sale of mortgage-backed securities.

Income Inequality is Cyclical

Periodic rises and falls in the gap between the rich and poor over centuries indicate that inequality will not grow forever, argues Branko Milanovic.

For the past 30 years or so, income inequality has been on the rise across the globe. It has increased in the United States, China, Russia — even in Sweden and Finland, long thought to be paragons of equality.

What’s driving this increase? And does the unprecedented dominance of capitalism mean that there are no longer countervailing forces to stop inequality’s rise? Or might a self-regulating mechanism eventually reduce it, even in a capitalist world?

JPM Downgrades Wells Fargo; Expects More Probes “Following Tough Senate Hearings”

One day after what was a rather disastrous hearing for Wells CEO John Stumpf, which culminated with a Senator telling the embattled chief executive he may want to consider going to prison, the bad news continued overnight when the bank that overtook Wells in the “biggest US bank by market cap” category, JPMorgan, downgraded Wells to Netural, cutting its price target from $53.50 to $48.00 as a result of “tough Senate hearings and mounting public scrutiny following the opening of fraudulent accounts” and because the “senate hearings are likely to expand probes.”

3 Dead: Including Gunman, After Shooting at Tennessee Factory

Two people were killed after a gunman opened fire at a Tennessee factory Thursday afternoon before turning the weapon on himself, officials said.

Athens Police Chief Chuck Zieglar told reporters at a news conference the suspected gunman was an employee at Thomas and Betts manufacturing plant, located about 60 miles southwest of Knoxville, Tenn.

The shooting was first reported around 4:16 p.m. local time, officials said.

After first attempting to shoot in the front office area of the factory, Ziegler said the gunman then continued shooting “deep inside the factory” before turning the weapon on himself.

Ziegler said when authorities first arrived arrived, employees were fleeing the building.

When police went inside the factory, they found three people dead, including the gunman, in one of the bathrooms.

Alex Jones Melts Globalists Over Terror: Mind-Controlled Media Sacrificing the West for Islam

“The whole mainstream media is dying”

Alex Jones of Infowars.com launched into an epic rant during his Monday show denouncing the media and global elites for sacrificing Western civilization to radical Islam.

Jones opened his monologue by saying:

I’m just so angry right now. I’m really so fundamentally angry with the media — how deceptive they are, what traitors they are, how low they are. Hillary — all of you — are just sickening horrible people… You have to work to be such scum, and I’m so sick of you, and I’m so sick of some of the general public that still sits there.

It’s like that Perino lady during the Bush press conference — or during one of those White House press conferences. She was sitting there, and they said, “Is it true the dollar’s down and that’s why oil prices are blah, blah, blah?” I mean, you don’t need to ask her if that was the case. You can just go do basic economics and know it. But it’s like, it’s not a terror bombing till they say. It’s not a Muslim till they say. It’s not a crime till they say.

For at least five years — and we’ve had the witnesses on — in Homeland Security, they’re not allowed to call a terror attack a terror attack; they’re not allowed to call a mosque a mosque; they’re not allowed to call a Muslim a Muslim; they’re not allowed to call an al Qaeda person or an ISIS person by their name under federal regulations or they get reprimanded or fired…

Imagine that! This is the level of control. You think they’re just telling us, “Don’t use the word Muslim or bomb or terror attack”? That’s what the FBI is told. That’s what Customs is told. That’s what it is to live in a mind-control country where they tell you what language to use because the sickening globalists and George Soros are allied with radical Islam and are taking over 23 countries as we speak — taking them over!

The West is only a destabilization program right now. We aren’t to that point yet, but in Sweden and Germany and France they’re putting ads on saying, “You are demoralized. You are dead. You are over. Give up to the hijab. Give up to Muhammad and Allah! Allah Akbar! We’re going to stab your daughter at the mall! We’re going to stab your wife, your son, we’re going to stab you with a butcher knife!” And then the police chief is going to get up and say, “We love our Somalis. We love our Muslims. Oh they’re so good. Oh they’re so sweet.”

[Comment: He is right — he sees the big picture. He’s loud because he’s trying to wake up all Americans. Angry, because those behind the scenes such as Soros and globalist erving rtraitor politicians are intentionally destabilizing the western countries through islamic mass migration and supporting communist movements such as BLM. ]

Amid Growing Violence, Chicago Now Escorts One in Five Students to School

Nearly 400,000 public-school students made their way through the streets of Chicago to attend their first day of school on September 6th. For some, the journey can be perilous. As these students walked through streets plagued by gang violence, they were joined by 1,300 security guards in yellow vests stationed along predefined routes in the city’s most dangerous neighbourhoods.

Attack on Yahoo Hit 500 Million Users

Yahoo says hackers stole information from about 500 million users in 2014 in what appears to be the largest publicly disclosed cyber-breach in history.

The breach included swathes of personal information including names and emails as well as “unencrypted security questions and answers”.

It did not include any credit card data, the site said, adding it believed the attack was state-sponsored.

In July, Yahoo was sold to US telecoms giant Verizon for $4.8bn (£3.7bn).

The FBI has confirmed it is investigating the attack.

Candidate Destroys Red Light Cameras “To Expose Fraud”… Then Turns Himself in

A New York man who has become known as the “Red Light Robin Hood” is attempting to run for state senate, despite the fact that he is facing charges that could put him in jail for years… and he may actually have a chance at winning.

Stephen Ruth recently spoke with Luke Rudkowski of WeAreChange.org and explained how he turned himself in to police after defacing dozens of red light cameras in order to raise awareness about the shady and dangerous practice — which make intersections far less safe and which impede upon the constitutional right to due process.

Ruth decided that the situation warranted civil disobedience, and has received widespread support from community members who feel exploited by the cameras, and the ridiculous fines that are accrued by the state.

Ruth says he has collected evidence showing that municipalities in Suffolk County, where he lives on Long Island, have shortened the timing of yellow lights, making it harder for drivers to safely pass through yellow lights or, alternately, to come to a safe stop.

CIA Director Brennan Admits Voting for Communist Party in 1976

“We’ve all had indiscretions in our past,” the CIA director said

CIA Director John Brennan admitted to supporting the Communist Party in the 1976 election last week during the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s annual conference.

Speaking at a panel discussion on diversity in the intelligence community Thursday, Brennan revealed how his previous vote for Communist Gus Hall had resurfaced during his first polygraph test at the agency.

According to CNN, after being asked if he had “ever worked with or for a group that was dedicated to overthrowing the US,” Brennan worried that a truthful answer would end his goal of becoming a CIA analyst.

“This was back in 1980, and I thought back to a previous election where I voted, and I voted for the Communist Party candidate,” Brennan said. “I froze, because I was getting so close to coming into CIA and said, ‘OK, here’s the choice, John. You can deny that, and the machine is probably going to go, you know, wacko, or I can acknowledge it and see what happens.’“

After admitting to his prior support of the Communist platform, Brennan says he was convinced he would be inhibited from moving forward.

Excavation of De Luna’s 16th-Century Settlement Continues

WUWF.com reports that a team led by archaeologist John Worth of the University of West Florida has found a large garbage pit at the site of Spanish colonist Tristan de Luna’s 1559 settlement in the western Florida Panhandle. One month after de Luna’s arrival, a hurricane destroyed most of the expedition’s ships and supplies.

The hurricane “may have even changed the entire history of the continent, by altering what could have been a successful Luna Expedition, and which would never have led to St. Augustine and never have led to the southeast becoming dominated by the English,” Worth said.

John Bolton on Obama’s Internet Handover: ‘Within Ten Years, The Internet as We Know it Will End’

“What we’ve gotten out of the Internet, under the shelter of a private American organization that contracts with the Commerce Department, [is] one of the few cases that I can think of in our history where we’ve had that kind of government involvement without regulation and interference,” said Bolton.

He continued:

But because it’s entirely a U.S. government proposition with U.S. people involved, the Internet has been free and open. If, as the Administration wants to do, it’s transferred to an international body, I will predict right here: within 10 years it will come under the control of the United Nations, and the Internet as we know it will end because there are governments around the world that are already doing everything they can to prevent a free and open Internet in their countries, and it will extend to ours in due course.

Bolton called the Internet handover “a mistake of such colossal proportions that you would have thought we’d have a huge debate about it in this country.”

Man Charged With Making Terroristic Threat After Dfw-Bound American Airlines Flight Lands in Lubbock

An American Airlines flight headed to DFW International Airport Thursday morning was diverted to Lubbock because of a disruptive passenger.

Jerry Ba Nguyen, 24, of San Jose, Calif., was being held Thursday afternoon at the Lubbock County jail on a charge of making a terroristic threat.

Nguyen, a passenger on Flight 2542 from Ontario, Calif., was yelling and banging on the cockpit door, which prompted the pilot to land at Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport about 5:17 a.m., American Airlines officials told KXAS-TV (NBC5).

Several other passengers had to subdue Nguyen, authorities said…

Marsquakes Could Potentially Support Red Planet Life

Marsquakes — that is, earthquakes on Mars — could generate enough hydrogen to support life there, a new study finds.

Humans and most animals, plants and fungi get their energy mainly from chemical reactions between oxygen and organic compounds such as sugars. However, microbes depend on a wide array of different reactions for energy; for instance, reactions between oxygen and hydrogen gas help bacteria called hydrogenotrophs survive deep underground on Earth, and previous research suggested that such reactions may have even powered the earliest life on Earth.

Prior work suggested that when rocks fracture and grind together during earthquakes on Earth, silicon in those rocks can react with water to generate hydrogen gas. Study lead author Sean McMahon, a geomicrobiologist at Yale University, and his colleagues wanted to see if marsquakes could generate enough hydrogen to support any microbes that might potentially live on the Red Planet.

NYPD ‘Looking Into’ Latest Anthony Weiner Sexting Claims

The Special Victims Unit of the New York City Police Department is “looking into” new allegations that former Rep. Anthony Weiner had a months-long sexting relationship with a minor, FoxNews.com has confirmed.

“Detectives are looking into it,” an NYPD official said Thursday.

The inquiry comes after a new report said the disgraced former congressman in January began exchanging sexually explicit emails and texts with a 15-year-old high-school student.

According to DailyMail.com, the relationship was initiated by the girl, who reportedly contacted Weiner on Twitter because she eventually hoped to write a book about him.

Weiner told FoxNews.com Wednesday he knows he has a problem. “I have repeatedly demonstrated terrible judgement about the people I have communicated with online and the things I have sent,” Weiner told FoxNews.com.

Weiner said, however, he had “likely been the subject of a hoax.”

Obama Used His Final UN Address to Promote a ‘Liberal World Order’ And a Palestinian State

During Barack Obama’s eighth and final address to the United Nations he let his true colors show. He staunchly defended globalism, he took several not very subtle shots at Donald Trump, and he boldly declared that Israel “cannot permanently occupy and settle Palestinian land”. That statement about “Palestinian land” was extremely alarming to many, because there are indications that Obama may decide to support a UN Security Council resolution that establishes the parameters for a Palestinian state during his final months in the White House. Barack Obama has promised to squeeze every ounce of “change” out of the remainder of his term that he possibly can, and his last UN speech showed what is on his heart at this moment.

According to the Washington Post, Obama’s final UN address represented “an impassioned plea on behalf of a liberal world order”…

President Obama, in his final speech to the United Nations Tuesday, made an impassioned plea on behalf of a liberal world order that he admitted was under growing threat from wars in the Middle East and rising nationalism at home and in Europe.

Speaking to the U.N. General Assembly for the eighth and last time as president, Obama sought to rise above the conflicts of the moment and outline a future of international cooperation, stressing the importance of the global liberal institutions formed after World War II, including the United Nations.

Barack Obama is a true believer in internationalism. He appears to be completely convinced that the best path forward for humanity involves more integration on all levels — political, economic and even spiritual. Just check out this excerpt from his speech…

Poll — 84 Percent of Working Class Whites Say Government Doesn’t Represent Our Views

A Kaiser Family Foundation/CNN poll finds 84 percent of white working class voters say that the government in Washington, D.C. doesn’t represent the views of people like them—and 74 percent of whites with a four-year college degree say they agree.

Significant numbers of working class whites feel left behind.

Nearly half, or 47 percent, of working class whites feel the country’s best days are behind us. Only 18 percent feel satisfied with the country’s economic situation, with 78 percent dissatisfied—and 53 percent very dissatisfied. Only 24 percent feel satisfied with “the influence people like you have on the political process,” with 45 percent feeling very dissatisfied.

Half of working class whites believe that when their children reach their age, their standard of living will be worse than theirs is now.

Revealed: Images of NYC Bomber Rahami’s Jihad Notebook

Breitbart News has obtained images of the notebook found on Ahmed Khan Rahami’s person following his arrest in Linden, New Jersey Monday morning. Rahami has been charged with planting several explosives across New York and New Jersey, injuring 31 and causing millions of dollars in damage.

Rahami’s notebook is laden with references to Islamic radicalism, including favorable references to “brother” Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, whose jihadi sermons have remained popular long after his death via U.S. drone strike in 2011.

Rahami writes that he is following al-Awlaki’s orders to “kill the kuffar in their backyard,” referring to non-Muslims, and that he is praying for shahadat, or martyrdom, and was hoping to die in the process of executing the terrorist attacks he is being charged with.

The notebook is pierced by a bullet wound and covered in, presumably, Rahami’s blood. Rahami was shot after firing at Linden police upon being approached outside of a local bar.

Somerville Landlord in Her 70s Must Learn About Islam and Serve 6 Months in Jail

A Somerville landlord and Christian minister convicted of pushing her Muslim tenant down the stairs must comply with a judge’s order that she learn about the Islamic faith as part of her probation, the state’s highest court concluded Wednesday.

In a unanimous ruling, the Supreme Judicial Court left intact the probation imposed on Daisy Obi by Somerville District Court Judge Paul M. Yee Jr. in 2014. The SJC’s ruling was based on procedural grounds and didn’t directly address the probation condition.

Writing for the court, Justice Barbara Lenk noted that under court rules, a person must first object in a lower court if he or she wants the high court to review it. No such objection was made by Obi and her attorneys, Lenk wrote.

“While conditions of probation that touch on religion and risk incursion upon constitutionally protected interests should be imposed only with great circumspection, the defendant raised no such concerns before the trial court judge, and there is no information in the record that would allow us to evaluate her claims,’’ Lenk wrote.

“Because she raises these claims for the first time on appeal, they have been waived.”…

The House That Evil Built

“The government of this country has not only to deal with governments, kings and ministers, but also with secret societies, elements which must be taken into account, which at the last moment can bring our plans to naught, which have everywhere their unscrupulous agents, who incite assassinations and can if necessary lead a massacre.” -Benjamin Disraeli, at Aylesbury, Sept. 10, 1876

One of the most difficult things truth tellers encounter are Americans who have no education about the roots of the global masters and how they are destroying, not just America, but the world. I can tell you from experience, as can hundreds, if not thousands of writers like myself, as soon as you begin to give a history of the evil that built the house of horrors we are living in right now, the average American, due either to political party loyalty or denial, simply does not want to hear the truth. As the late, former Congressman from California, James B. Utt, said so long ago: “None are so blind as he who cannot see”. Sadly, millions of Americans would rather willfully believe lies. They can’t believe, having been sold a bill of goods, that Marxists like Barry Soetoro, aka Obama, is anything other than some brilliant problem solver who just loves all the poor folks.

I believe most refuse to see because they are afraid of the truth. Because tens of millions need to stay in denial, they will not make the time to read the history of the architects of our pain and who continue the work of the evil doers. I say house because if you can imagine a house, or perhaps a structure as big as a palace with each room representing one faction and study each one, you can come to no other conclusion as to who built the structure and how we are now being systematically destroyed by domestic and foreign enemies. Prominent politicians, dynasties as they’re called, and traitors like Bill and Hillary Clinton. See my column: The Marxist Influence.

Each entity is like a room in a huge house. Over the centuries there have been tugs of war for power, but in the end, the goal is the same: forcing America into a one world government, one world religion, a one world banking system that is already collapsing under the weight of unpayable debt as the banking cartels loot this country to bare bones and a world government military.

Perhaps now that America is in ruins, more Americans will take the time to get educated so that they might finally understand our destiny hasn’t been in our hands for centuries. Perhaps if they can put party loyalty aside for the sake of their own survival and the survival of our republic, they will join with the rest of us in rejecting world government and stop putting money into the coffers of those implementing the final stages of the fall of these united States of America.

[Comment: The mass migration plan is part of this overall plan for World government. First the nation states must be deconstructed and the 2nd amendment eliminated. A similar push is on to get the Swiss to give up their arms.]

The Marxist Influence

In light of the hyped speculation that Hillary Rodam Clinton is seeking the presidency in 2008, I feel the American people should be reminded on a regular basis about this woman’s past. Both Hillary and Bill Clinton are devout Marxists and propagators of world communism. They disguise it very well. No self-respecting woman, regardless of her commitment to a marriage, would put up with a husband who publicly rubs her nose in his infidelity — a husband accused of rape by Juanita Broadrick. No, this is a partnership of power and anyone who underestimates Hillary Rodam Clinton does so at their own risk.

The face these two put on for the gullible in no way is representative of their past and what they believe. Hillary is probably the most dangerous woman in this country for freedom and liberty. Below is a reprint of an article from my old newsletter, November 1995. I believe people will find this factual information very interesting. The Institute for Policy Studies still operates in this country.

Marxism: “The political and economic ideas of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels as developed into a system of thought that gives class struggle a primary role in leading society from bourgeois democracy under capitalism to a socialist society and thence to Communism.

Communism: A theory or system of government in communal ownership as in goods and property are distributed for a11, except those at the top who control the masses.

Fascism: A philosophy or system of government that is marked by stringent social and economic control, a strong centralized government usually headed by a dictator, and often a policy of belligerent nationalism; oppressive or dictatorial control…

David Mark Price has produced one of the most intense research documents that I have ever seen on any subject matter. In this instance, Price has concentrated on the Institute for Policy Studies [IPS]. His manual is explicit, incredibly detailed and one that should he examined by every member of the U.S. Congress for further investigation. His logical and documented link between the IPS and Bill & Hillary Clinton is extraordinary.

The following quotes are taken from Price’s manual, SECRET:

Page 1: IPS has firm ties to anti-American terrorists and militant Marxists worldwide; and IPS has firm ties to Bill and Hillary Clinton also. Accordingly, concern over the Clinton’s ties to IPS personnel were voiced by Rush Limbaugh, Donald McAlvany, Daniel Wattenberg and William F. Buckley, Jr. prior to the 1992 election — and for good reason — the FBI reveals:

IPS is described as a Washington-based ‘Think Factory’ which helped train extremists who incite violence in the United States … and whose educational research serves as a cover for intrigue and political agitation. [See FBI File 175-398, June 9, 1976 message traffic, page 8. See FBI documents in bibliography for information on how to obtain all FBI documents cited in SECRET.]

Individuals who have been identified as CP [Communist Party] members … have participated in IPS functions. IPS representatives have also affiliated with known communists. [FBI File 100-447935, Vol. 1. March 14, l969, page 1]

You’d think we’re making up the follow incident involving Hillary Clinton, but luckily, just like her recent medical emergency, it was all caught on video.

Hillary Clinton was caught in an embarrassing moment when someone at her rally yelled “Hillary for prison!”, to which the presidential candidate responded, “Let’s make it happen!”

The cringeworthy moment was captured on film.

Given her now notorious propensity for being constantly “confused,” Hillary probably thought the man was saying “Hillary for president!,” but nothing could be further from the truth.

Watch This Nordic Viking Ship Sail Into New York

The world’s largest Viking dragon ship in modern times is moored in New York this week and is offering deck tours to visitors, after departing Scandinavian shores in late April.

Captained by Swede Björn Ahlander, the great dragon vessel — named after Harald Hårfagre, the king who unified Norway in the 10th century — dropped anchor in New York on Saturday.

“Sailing in past the Statue of Liberty and coming in among thousands of people in the harbour clapping their hands was an amazing feeling for the whole crew,” Ahlander described the moment.

Who Are the “Deplorables” And Why Do They Refuse to be Trampled Upon?

In numerous articles over the past several years I have made observations on a rule of life that I strictly adhere to: that all social conflicts can be boiled down to the reality of two opposing groups — those people who want to control the lives of others, and those people who simply want to be left alone. You can read more about my philosophy on this in an article I published in 2014 titled ‘Why Is Independence So Frightening To Some People?’

The mainstream media and establishment institutions focused on propaganda will tell you that there are hundreds or thousands of dangerous cultural enclaves and ideologies out there that you should fear. They will tell tales of rage and suspicion between the rich and the poor, haves and have-nots, whites and blacks, gays and straights, academics and working class, believers and atheists, Muslims and Christians, Republicans and Democrats, Eastern nations and Western nations, etc. The establishment relies on these divisions as a rationale for the homogenization of cultures — they argue that if we erase borders, religion and sovereignty while enforcing multiculturalism and wealth redistribution, then these groups will have no reason to fight anymore and a Utopian fever orgy will be our inevitable reward. Yes, it sounds quite magical.

That said, I don’t hold any claims against any of these groups per se, as long as they respect my inherent and individual freedoms. If they are determined to impose their ideology on me through force, that is another matter entirely.

This is the only paradigm that actually matters in the end. All other paradigms are a means for the powers that be to pit the masses against each other. When you look at the world in this way, it is easier to let go of all the “sacred cows” and learned biases that blind us to the truth.

Why People Use Pressure Cookers to Make Bombs

They’re easy to get, easy to customize, and dangerous to begin with.

As details emerge about the Saturday night bombing in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City, one detail sticks out. Both the bomb that exploded on 23rd Street and another a few blocks away that didn’t go off were made out of pressure cookers. So was the explosive device in the deadly Boston Marathon bombing of 2013.

Why do bombers keep using these everyday kitchen tools to make explosives? Because the ordinary cooking tool is easy to get, easy to customize, and dangerous to begin with.

The first pressure cooker was invented in 1679 by the French physicist Denis Papin, who realized that increasing the amount of steam inside a small, sealed pot would increase the pressure on whatever’s inside. By regulating that pressure, the cooker can change how the food inside is cooked. The invention existed for more than two centuries before domestic pressure cookers were unveiled to the public with much fanfare at the 1939 World’s Fair in New York.

After NYC Bomb, London’s Muslim Mayor Says Terror Attacks “Part and Parcel” Of Life in a Big City

by Robert Spencer

Sadiq Khan said attacks such as the jihad bombing in Chelsea were “part and parcel” of life in a big city. “It is a reality I’m afraid that London, New York, other major cities around the world have got to be prepared for these sorts of things.” He also criticized Donald Trump for saying it was time to “get tough” on terrorism.

Sadiq Khan is not going to get tough on jihad terrorism. He appears to be much more concerned about those who want to do so than he is about the jihad terrorists themselves. He wants you to get used to it. Jihad terror, as far as Sadiq Khan is concerned, is just a feature of modern urban life.

Ancient Cat DNA Examined for Clues to Domestication

Nature reports that evolutionary geneticist Eva-Maria Geigl of the Institute Jacques Monod and her colleagues Claudio Ottoni and Thierry Grange investigated the origins of domesticated cats by sequencing mitochondrial DNA obtained from more than 200 sets of cat remains recovered from more than 30 archaeological sites in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The cats lived between about 15,000 years ago and the eighteenth century A.D.

The researchers found that wild cats from the Middle East are likely to have traveled with early farmers into the eastern Mediterranean. The feline hunters may have been drawn to the rodents attracted to new grain stockpiles. A mitochondrial lineage found in later Egyptian cat mummies was also found in the remains of cats in Eurasia and Africa, and in cat remains from a Viking site in northern Germany. Geigl suggests that seafaring peoples probably kept cats on their ships to keep rodents at bay as well.

Czech President: ‘I Would Indeed Vote for Trump if I Were US Citizen’

Czech President Milos Zeman said Tuesday he would vote for US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump if he were a US citizen, in a video interview with local media. PRAGUE, September 20 (Sputnik) — He said that Democrat candidate Hillary Clinton, who has been endorsed by the incumbent US president, looked set to continue Barack Obama’s policy course toward the Middle East. “With due respect to Barack Obama, his name has been tainted by a series of failures. He plunged the whole Middle East into chaos and left it an open wound that has not been healing well,” Zeman said

Grand Hotel Abyss: The Lives of the Frankfurt School — Review

A fractious Europe, a failing currency, a challenged economy, populist parties on the rise, a divided left, migration from the east, an atmosphere of fear combined with social and sexual liberalism. The parallels between Britain today and Germany in the 1920s may well make this a compelling moment to revisit those postwar German thinkers who gathered in what was known as the Frankfurt school for social research — something akin to a Marxist thinktank, though one whose policy papers and brilliant books fed future generations as much or more than their own.

Max Horkheimer, Theodor Adorno, Herbert Marcuse and Erich Fromm, together with the close, but formally unattached Walter Benjamin, and from the 1970s Jürgen Habermas, were the core constellation. With the rise to power of the Nazis, the school’s Frankfurt headquarters had to be abandoned. Double persecution, as Marxists and Jews, began in 1933. Adorno, a brilliant musician as well as theorist, went to Oxford first to study with Gilbert Ryle. The school itself moved briefly to Switzerland and then the US, settling in what novelist Thomas Mann called “German California”.

Mysterious Branch of Humanity Possibly Discovered

A group of humans migrating out of Africa some 40,000 to 70,000 years ago mingled with an as-yet unknown branch of humanity, researchers say.

The genetic analyses revealed the genomes of present-day aboriginal Australians might harbor evidence of ancient interbreeding with an unknown human lineage.

“Who these people are, we don’t know,” said Eske Willerslev at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark, and senior author of one of the three studies.

Previous research unearthed bones from a mysterious extinct branch of the human family tree from Denisova cave in Siberia’s Altai Mountains. Analysis of DNA extracted from the fossils suggested these “Denisovans” shared a common origin with Neanderthals, but were nearly as genetically distinct from Neanderthals as Neanderthals were from living people. [Denisovan Gallery: Tracing the Genetics of Human Ancestors]

Recent work suggested that Denisovans have contributed about 5 percent of their DNA to the genomes of present-day people of the Pacific islands of Oceania. However, these new findings suggest that what seemed to be evidence of Denisovans in the Pacific were actually signs of an unknown human lineage.

“These guys were very distantly related to Denisovans, but by no means Denisovan,” Willerslev told Live Science. “They were even more distantly related to Neanderthals, and they might have been even more distantly related to modern humans. We believe that they interbred with modern humans shortly before modern humans crossed into the ancient continent of Sahul — what is now Australia, New Guinea and Tasmania — some 50,000 to 60,000 years ago.”

Neandertals Made Their Own Jewelry, New Method Confirms

The “necklaces” are tiny: beads of animal teeth, shells, and ivory no more than a centimeter long. But they provoked an outsized debate that has raged for decades. Found in the Grotte du Renne cave at Arcy-sur-Cure in central France, they accompanied delicate bone tools and were found in the same layers as fossils from Neandertals—our archaic cousins. Some archaeologists credited the artifacts—the so-called Chtelperronian culture—to Neandertals. But others argued that Neandertals were incapable of the kind of symbolic expression reflected in the jewelry and insisted that modern humans must have been the creators.

Now, a study uses a new method that relies on ancient proteins to identify and directly date Neandertal bone fragments from Grotte du Renne and finds that the connection between the archaic humans and the artifacts is real. Ross Macphee, a paleontologist at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, who has worked with ancient proteins in other studies, calls it “a landmark study” in the burgeoning field of paleoproteomics. And others say it shores up the picture of Neandertals as smart, symbolic humans.

Scandinavian Fire Epidemic: Arsonist Attacks ‘Out of Control’ As Vile Thugs Stone Police

Out-of-control blazes and police attacks have plagued Sweden since July with more than 70 cars being set alight.

Express.co.uk reported on Wednesday that the number of “no-go” zones has increased to 55 as the country has seen a huge surge in crime since the start of the migrants crisis in Europe with a rise in sex assaults, drug dealing and children carrying weapons.

The escalating violence in Denmark comes as the Malmö fire attacks and assaults on the police have spread to Gothenburg.

Overnight angry youths wreaked havoc in the city in south Sweden after officials cracked down on criminal activity in the area.

The rampaging thugs launched a fierce attack on the on-duty officers with stones and firecrackers.

Hans Lippens, of the Gothenburg police, said the aggression was sparked by the hardline-approach taken to stop the increasing levels of crime in the area.

Sweden in Chaos: Number of ‘No-Go Zones’ Increased as Police Lose Control Over Violence

In February Express.co.uk reported the Scandinavian country has seen a huge surge in crime since the start of the migrants crisis in Europe with a rise in sex assaults, drug dealing and children carrying weapons.

The force’s increased lack of control in the country was revealed in a report by Sweden’s National Criminal Investigation Service, where attacks on officers were detailed, including police cars being stoned by masked groups.

At the time around 50 areas were put on a “blacklist” which are then divided into three categories from “risk areas” to “seriously vulnerable”. Swedish police are losing the battle against increasing levels crime and violence in the country

The figure has now been increased to 55 as the Swedish police force are facing a crisis, with three officers handing in their notice every day.

It is estimated that 80 per cent of the police officers are also considering changing professions, due to lack of funding and support to tackle the increasing levels of crime.

British Serviceman Facing Prosecution Over Death of Iraqi Teenager Says Army Has ‘Betrayed Its Finest People’ By Abandoning Troops Over Abuse Claims.

A British soldier facing prosecution over the drowning of an Iraqi teenager has accused the Army of ‘betraying its finest’ by leaving him to be ‘hounded’ over the death.

The serviceman is one of three — including a decorated major — who have been pursued by the courts for 13 years over the death of Said Shabram.

Said, 19, drowned in the Shatt al-Arab river near Basra, southern Iraq, after allegedly being forced into the water at gunpoint by British troops in 2003.

The Iraq Historic Allegations Team (Ihat) recommended prosecution even though a military investigation in 2006 cleared the men, two of whom are still serving.

The soldier, who spoke anonymously, said the Army has ‘failed in its most basic duty of care’ by leaving them unsupported.

Speaking to the BBC Radio 4 Today programme, the man said: ‘The reality of 21st Century warfare is now that anyone in the world, even our enemies, can make any allegation against British forces no matter how absurd, and the British Government and Army will stand and watch in utter indifference as it destroys their lives and careers.

Earth Wobbles May Have Driven Ancient Humans Out of Africa

Ancient human migrations out of Africa may have been driven by wobbles in Earth’s orbit and tilt that led to dramatic swings in climate, a new study finds.

Modern humans first appeared in Africa about 150,000 to 200,000 years ago. It remains a mystery as to why it then took many millennia for people to disperse across the globe. Recent archaeological and genetic findings suggest that migrations of modern humans out of Africa began at least 100,000 years ago, but most humans outside of Africa most likely descended from groups who left the continent more recently — between 40,000 and 70,000 years ago.

Previous research suggested that shifts in climate might help explain why modern human migrations out of Africa happened when they did. For instance, about every 21,000 years, Earth experiences slight changes to its orbit and tilt. These series of wobbles, known as Milankovitch cycles, alter how much sunlight hits different parts of the planet, which in turn influences rainfall levels and the number of people any given region can support.

For example, according to a report released on September 19th by the Homeland Security Department’s inspector general, hundreds of immigrants were improperly granted citizenship despite missing fingerprint records. They were from “special interest countries” — countries of particular concern for national security reasons.

Nevertheless, President Obama is making the admission of more refugees and migrants his going away gift to the American people. He has announced that the United States will welcome even more refugees from around the world, increasing the number of people the U.S. receives by 40 percent over the next two years, to 100,000 in 2017. He also wants to admit more Syrian refugees in particular, which Hillary Clinton has already announced she would do if elected president.

Egypt Migrant Boat Capsize: Hundreds Feared Dead

Survivors from a boat which capsized off the Egyptian coast on Wednesday have told the BBC that hundreds of people may have drowned.

The boat was carrying between 450 and 600 migrants when it capsized eight miles (12km) off the coast, they say. The numbers have not been confirmed.

Authorities say they have rescued 163 people and recovered 51 bodies so far off the port city of Rosetta.

Four crew members have been arrested, Egyptian officials said.

They are suspected of involuntary manslaughter and human trafficking, judicial officials were reported as saying.

The incident came after the EU’s border agency warned that increasing numbers of Europe-bound migrants are using Egypt as a departure point.

Footnote Reveals DHS Gave Citizenship to 1,800 Illegals

(Daily Caller) The real number of people who got citizenship instead of deportation from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is more than double what the media initially reported, a footnote in the report reveals.

More than 1,800 people who were supposed to be deported were mistakenly granted citizenship, the footnote discovered by CNN’s Jake Tapper in the DHS Inspector General report shows. That’s more than double the 858 number initially reported by the media.

The report focuses on the use of digital fingerprinting by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, which may explain why the 1,800 number was buried. The IG report found 858 people were granted citizenship under a fake identity that was not discovered, in part because their digital fingerprints were not available. The other 953 people mentioned in the footnote were not included in that figure, because the IG couldn’t determine whether the mixup was specifically related to fingerprint records.

Germany: AfD Leader: Refugees Welcome Has Become a Substitute for Religion

The leader of the anti-mass migration Alternative for Germany (AfD) has slammed those sympathetic to migrants saying that their “refugees welcome” attitude has become the new German religion.

AfD leader Frauke Petry said that many Germans are so blinded by this over willingness to help everyone in the world that they cannot see that many of those they endeavour to help, Muslims in particular, do not share German values in regard to minorities, religious freedom, or the rights of women, Die Welt reports.

“The achievements of the Reformation and Enlightenment are endangered,” Ms. Petry told the German press and noted that the freedom of all citizens was under a severe risk due to the mass migration of peoples from Muslim countries who may not share those same enlightenment values.

“In the Middle East, with the exception of Israel, there is no religious freedom,” Ms. Petry stated, adding that “this thinking is now supported by Germany”.

According to several polls, Muslims in Germany, notably the large Turkish diaspora, support religious Islamic law over German law, with one poll showing that up to half of all Turks in Germany see Sharia law as supreme to German law.

Citing these polls Ms. Petry argued of the dangers to German society and highlighted the prevalence of foreign imams and money flowing into German mosques from countries like Turkey and Saudi Arabia. The foreign funding is also largely blamed for the increase in the number of radical Salafist believers in the country which has almost doubled in the past three years.

The AfD, like more than half Germany citizens according to polls, have said that Islam does not belong to German culture. Ms. Petry was also quick to point out that she and her party had no problem with Muslims who integrated into society and practise their religion in private, but the party takes issue with overtly public displays such calls to prayer, minarets, and the full-face Islamic veil.

Half of All Australians Want to Ban Muslim Immigration: Poll

US President Barack Obama has hit back strongly at rising anti-immigration sentiment across America, Europe and Australia, as a new poll found half of all Australians want to ban Muslim immigration.

Declaring rich countries must do more not less, and that refugees are victims rather than the causes of violence, Mr Obama said governments proposing to build walls and close doors inevitably imprisoned their own citizens while ensuring they would be harshly judged by history.

“This crisis is a test of our common humanity — whether we give in to suspicion and fear and build walls, or whether we see ourselves in another,” he said.

It came as an Essential Research poll released on Wednesday found 49 per cent of Australians support a ban on Muslim immigration, including 60 per cent of Coalition voters, 40 per cent of Labor voters and 34 per cent of Greens voters.

The most common reasons for wanting a ban were fears over terrorism, and a belief that Muslim migrants do not integrate into society nor share Australian values. The poll was first conducted in early August and then repeated to ensure it was not a rogue.

Hungary’s ‘Zero Refugee’ Strategy

Viktor Orbán’s government says it is targeting human traffickers. Rights groups accuse it of abuse on the borders.

On October 2, Hungarians will be asked one question — “Do you want the European Union to be entitled to prescribe the mandatory settlement of non-Hungarian citizens in Hungary without the consent of parliament?” — a wording that has deepened divisions between Budapest and the European Union.

Merkel’s Migrant Fallout: More Than Half of Germans Fear ‘Islamisation’ of Their Country

The results hint at a dramatic changing attitude of the nation’s population towards the religion over the past year, which has seen the arrival of more than one million migrants.

A new poll published by a leading Christian organisation reveals 57 per cent of Germans fear the Islamisation of their country — with more women (61 per cent), fearing it than men (51 per cent).

Churchgoers and non-religious people were equally afraid.

While the young were the least fearful, with just a third of 18 to 24-year-old’s scared of Germany becoming more Islamic.

NYC Mayor Calls for More Muslim Migrants

Touts ‘diversity,’ calls Islamic terror ‘vanishingly rare’

(LIFEZETTE) In the wake of a radical Islamic terrorist attack on New York City, Mayor Bill de Blasio is telling citizens not to worry about the threat of jihadist violence and pushing for even more questionably vetted migrants to be resettled in the United States.

De Blasio and the mayors of London and Paris co-wrote an op-ed in which they said terrorism committed by refugees is “vanishingly rare.”

NZ Government Sits on Hands While Immigration Soars

Immigration remains far too high, and public services continue to be overloaded, says New Zealand First Leader and Northland MP Rt Hon Winston Peters. “The latest immigration figures will be of no comfort to the tens of thousands seeking to buy a home, obtain meaningful and adequate employment, or to hospitals and doctors who have too many patients queuing for treatment as a result of record immigration and cost cutting by this government. “In figures just released New Zealand had a net gain of 69,000 in the July year, only 100 less than the June year. This amounts to the 24th month of record immigration which the government like some absurd King Canute refuses to respond to. “In the month of July there are still over 186 immigrants a day. “Auckland and now other areas are suffering from a…

Only 37 Republicans Back Plan to Defund Muslim ‘Refugees’

Only 37 Republican congressmen have signed on to a Texas lawmaker’s effort to cut funding for all refugees being sent to the U.S. from terrorist hotbeds like Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq and Somalia.

U.S. Rep. Brian Babin, R-N.C., told WND Tuesday the attacks in Minnesota, New York and New Jersey over the weekend, combined with earlier attacks by Muslim immigrants or sons of immigrants on Orlando, San Bernardino and Chattanooga, have created a “clear and present danger” that Congress must address. Especially since the sitting president, Barack Obama, refuses not only to stem the flow of Muslim refugees but has been on a crusade to increase the flow before he leaves office in January.

Yet, when he tried last week to muster support for legislation that would do just that, Babin found very little support within his own Republican colleagues in Congress.

Refugees bound for the U.S. are selected by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, then screened by federal agents for ties to formal terrorist organizations like ISIS or al-Qaida, but without any questions about their loyalty to Shariah law.

[Comment: This is the problem with the agreement with the UN. It is the UN that puts the refugee label on the person and under the terms of the agreeement the US has to take the person. It is their agrrement is providing an open door for spurriously categorized “refugees”. It is not accidental. It was a planned deception in the agreement.]

Over 500,000 Rejected Asylum Seekers Still Live in Germany

A new report shows that more than half a million people who had their asylum applications rejected are still living in Germany, three-quarters of whom have been in the country for more than six years.

Roma Migrants Flee to California as Europe Turns More Hostile

This year, almost 1,800 Romanians have been apprehended at the southern U.S. border, up from fewer than 400 in all of last year and just a few dozen in 2008, according to government statistics. They are propelled by an anti-immigrant wave sweeping Europe and pushing the Roma across the Atlantic Ocean.

The traditionally itinerant group, persecuted for centuries, is facing less-tolerant governments as more than 1 million migrants and refugees from Syria and other countries overwhelm the region. A resurgence of neo-Nazism from Romania to Italy has seen their camps demolished, businesses firebombed, neighborhoods walled off and children beaten.

“People are getting desperate enough and trying to claim asylum here,” said Ethel Brooks, chairwoman of the Budapest-based European Roma Rights Centre and associate professor at Rutgers University in New Jersey.

Shock UN Agreement Grants Thousands of Migrants Free Access to Scores of Countries

HUNDREDS of thousands of refugees will be granted free access to 50 countries as the global political community agrees to share the burden of the migrant crisis

The groundbreaking decision, made at the ongoing UN summit in New York, saw scores of nations agree to take a percentage of 360,000 refugees earmarked for resettlement.

This is double the number allowed to enter nations worldwide last year.

Romania, Portugal, Spain, Czech Republic, Italy, France and Luxembourg agreed to take a staggering ten times the amount of refugees they accepted in 2015.

Countries have also collectively granted £3.4billion in financial contributions to UN appeals and other humanitarian organisations.

[Comment: Western countries should pull out of the UN’s refugee agreeement. That catch in the agreement was that the UN decides who is a refugee.]

Soros to Commit $500m to Help Refugees and Migrants

Billionaire George Soros is pledging to invest up to $500 million in startups, established companies, “social impact initiatives,” and businesses started by refugees and migrants.

Soros, who chairs the Open Society Institute, made the announcement Tuesday, following the first-ever U.N. summit on migrants and refugees and ahead of a meeting chaired by President Barack Obama to spur pledges to help the world’s 65.3 million displaced people.

“Our goal is to harness the private sector for public good,” Soros said. “These investments are intended to be successful. But our primary focus is to create products and services that truly benefit migrants and host communities.”

Sweden Increases Funding for Refugee Integration, But it May Not be Enough

Sweden increases funding for refugee integration, but it may not be enough The Swedish government has presented a new national budget, promising to balance the finances and cut the deficit in 2018, despite increasing spending on a record number of asylum seekers. “We are on the road to balance and a substantial surplus,” said Finance Minister Magdalena Andersson, adding that the budget features stable growth, more jobs, falling unemployment and stronger public finances. Almost half the extra spending, 10 billion krona ($1.16 billion) per year, will be allocated to municipalities and district councils to cope with the flood of refugees. About 3.5 billion krona ($408 million) has been earmarked for refugee integration, including covering the cost of proposed changes to the Swedish Migration Agency that aims to make it easier for migrants to enter the Swedish labor market…

Swiss Press Criticize Bern’s ‘Capitulation’ on Immigration

Never has a proposed law diverged so far from the text of a publicly-voted referendum.

That’s the opinion of newspaper Le Temps on parliament’s decision to adopt a ‘light’ interpretation of the February 2014 anti-immigration initiative.

The paper was among many voices in the Swiss press to question the outcome of the heated debate on the subject in the lower house yesterday, which some MPs said was unconstitutional.

In its decision, parliament voted to maintain the free movement of people and its related bilateral agreements with the EU rather than implement fixed immigration quotas as voted for, in principle, by the Swiss people in the legally-binding 2014 referendum.

In doing so it judged that, though the people voted for immigration curbs, they did not vote to end Swiss-EU bilaterals — a “defendable” but “incomplete” stance, said the paper.

Texas Threatens to Pull Out of Federal Refugee Program

Texas threatens to pull out of federal refugee program The governor of Texas on Wednesday sent official notice to the Obama administration that the state is prepared to withdraw from a federal refugee resettlement program by the end of the month. Gov. Greg Abbott (R) told the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) in a letter that Texas will withdraw from the program by Sept. 30 unless the state’s plan for handling refugees is approved “unconditionally.” The withdrawal would take effect on Jan. 31. Under Texas’s plan, national security officials would have to certify that refugees pose no security threat before they are allowed into the United States. “Despite multiple requests by the State of Texas, the federal government lacks the capability or the will to distinguish the dangerous from the harmless, and Texas will not be an accomplice…

Great Moments in Google: “American Inventors”

by Steve Sailer

If you go to Google and type in American inventors you get back from Google pictures of the top American inventors of all time.

The #1 American inventor of all time is Lewis Howard Latimer, who, I just learned, worked with both Edison and Bell.

Thomas Edison is in 6th place and a well-tanned Alexander Graham Bell in 9th place, with ten black inventors rounding out the top dozen.

In the second dozen, Samuel Morse is 19th, Eli Whitney 20th, and Ben Franklin 23rd. Everybody else is black.

The Wright Brothers don’t make the top 50 American inventors, according to Google.

Thanks to John Rivers’ Twitter account for this.

World’s Hardiest Animal Has Evolved Radiation Shield for Its DNA

They are the toughest known animals on Earth and now the secret to one of their superpowers — resistance to radiation — is out.

Tardigrades, also known as water bears or moss piglets, are tiny, eight-legged creatures that live in small bodies of water in habitats such as moss across the planet and are renowned for their extreme survival skills.

They can survive in the vacuum of outer space, withstand temperatures ranging from close to absolute zero to nearly 100°C, cope with pressures six times greater than those at the bottom of the deepest ocean and survive dehydration and being frozen for years on end.

They can also defy hefty amounts of radiation that would be lethal to most other life on the planet — and now we know how they do it.

  1. ** CIA Director John Brennan admitted to supporting the Communist Party in the 1976 election **

Now there’s a man who knows the meaning of patriotism. Who doesn’t have communist sympathies in his past?

Leon Panetta, former CIA director and Secretary of Defense also had previous communist connections.

Valerie Jarrett’s grandfather and father-in-law were communists too and she’s Obama’s alter mommy in the White House.

Frank Marshall Davis we know about already. Big commie too. BIG. His FBI file could give you a hernia if you picked it up without a block and tackle.

Obama and his peeps have zero antibodies against communists, suggesting his UN-declared commitment to liberal regimes is to be taken with a grain of salt.

    • “Who doesn’t have communist sympathies in his past?”

      I don’t.

I’ve been a follower of the substantial (originally) anti-communist organization called “The Christophers” since about 1952.

      http://www.christophers.org/

And, there are a lot of other people who have been willing to try to light a candle rather than curse the darkness.

(With me, maybe it’s the Hungarian in me, but then there’s supposedly also a little Russian in me.)

      • Countess, I wonder if you mis-read that? (who doesn’t have communist……….)

I took it the wrong way first time I read it, and I’m wondering if you did too….

        • Point well taken. But, usually when someone says something that way, it’s sarcasm.

If it was a straight out question, why is it followed by three examples of people who do have it in their backgrounds?

“Well, who doesn’t drive on the right side of the road?” Canada (on the driving map) does….

  2. I typed “Canadian inventors” into Google Canada and out of the first 9 pictures the well-tanned Alexander Graham Bell showed up as # 1 .He had a small workshop at his family homestead near Brantford Ontario where he drew up a lot of plans for the telephone before moving to Boston. Elijah McCoy was the only true black face – but while he was born in Canada,he was 5 when he moved to the US with his parents .They had been escaped slaves. He experimented with oil lubrication in the USand stayed in that country for the rest of his life. Black, but not very “Canadian”. Got to get his picture in there anyway ! The other Canadian inventors pictured are fairly well-known : James Naismith (basketball), Reginald Fessenden (first radio transmission), Armand Bombardier (snowmobile) ,Sanford Fleming (drove ‘The Last Spike’ of the railway and developed Standard Time Zone), Henry Woodward (invented an early form of lightbulb and sold the patent to Edison), James Hillier ( first successful electron microscope) and Robert Foulis (gas-lighting innovations). I admit I had to look up Foulis. Not known to me, but perhaps to others who are in the gas-lighting trade…

  3. Unsurprisingly, the article about the landlady allegedly pushing the Muslim tenant down the stairs is totally free of details about the dispute.

Frauke Petry continues to be a gem.

Google’s treatment of American inventors is straight out of 1984.

Mayor Khan’s attempt to normalize daily terror is sadly predictable, and the lack of outrage in response is even more sadly predictable.

Scandinavia is clearly out-of-control. Any sane nation would have called in the Army to shoot arsonists on sight and leveled at least one ‘no-go zone’ at this point.

    • 1. I thought Alexander Graham Bell was Scottish

      2. Anyone objecting to Khan’s assessment of terror being normal will instantly be labelled as a Waycist, Fascist etc etc and possibly lose his or her job, not to mention being prosecuted for hate speech and forced to move in with Tommy Robinson and his family.

      3. Levelling No Go zones is a good idea but it should be done before whole cities become no go zones.

  4. Also, the DW study about Turkish women being discriminated against is poor because there are other variables at play.

The first that comes to mind is their German language skills. The second is their work ethic and how much time they will consume on their daily coffee and prayer breaks.

  5. Sounds like the new Austrian vote will not be until early December — 16 year olds will be voting, and there will be more of them at that time. I could not figure out if 16 year olds were already voting in the previous election, or if that’s a new feature.

I don’t understand why these shenanigans are allowed to continue. Surely new ballots with better glue could have been sent out within a couple of weeks.

    • Considering that average voter’s memory doesn’t span for more than 3-5 days, they are just waiting for a relatively jihad-free week to give the left more chance to win.

    • A first world country is unable to provide envelopes with proper glue to its citizens. This after rigging the previous election.
      – And no one bats an eyelid. No outrage in Progressive rags. No outrage from the EU. Nothing.

  6. So Google thinks the Wright brothers don’t make the top 50 American inventors.
I think they should; they certainly made the first complete flight and landing, although they definitely were not the first into the air in a powered, heavier than air machine–nor did they ever claim to have made the first flight.

In fact, the first three flights, which all ended in crashes, were made by Richard Pearse, near Temuka in the south island of NZ, where on 31st March 1903 he covered about 350 yds before crashing into a hedge. The next flight was on 2nd May, and his last, and longest flight in which he covered about 1000 yds before his home made engine failed and he crashed into a dry stream bed, was on 11th May, 1903.

  7. Peter35
that was educational indeed and I thank you because I had thought the Wright brothers were the first in the air.

To The Countess, I have NEVER had communist sympathies — I grew up knowing too much about them. I have all Hungarian in me — both parents. and oddly I had a blind date with a Hungarian which led to marriage! we are all naturalized Americans and our children were born here so I guess they are real Americans. Long time ago of course, but still quite the coincidence I think. This means both our middle-aged children are also Hungarian but not their children, since they both married Americans. Not to say I don’t consider myself also American, just mentioning the heritage.

I am of Hungarian heritage but this country took us in after WWII and I will never lose my gratitude for that. And I’m an American above all, but have a lot of sympathy with Hungary (I do have family there, just can’t afford to visit right now). They are suffering and nobody cares. seemingly.
