Newsletter #148 — “2014 Reviving Ramadan” — Better Living Through the Muslim Brotherhood

Remziya Suleyman, Director of the Muslim American Center for Outreach (ACO) along with her colleagues Suhaib Webb and Abdelrahman Murphy, schooled the young Muslims during the 2013 “In the Footsteps of the Prophet” retreat and again this year.

Suleyman told the younger Muslims attending the recent Reviving Ramadan retreat that:

“You carry the legacy of the greatest man that ever graced this earth. This ummah (global Muslim community) depends on what you, the next generation, does. Remember that.”

Why “Reviving Ramadan?”

Observing Ramadan is one of Islam’s five pillars. The youth retreats are organized and offered by the Knoxville Muslim Community. Read more about them here and here.

Just like Hassan al-Banna, the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood, Suleyman, Webb and Murphy are working to keep Muslim youth tethered to Islam, its ideology, and a sharia-adherent lifestyle. Because Islam is a “complete way of life,” it includes the pro-CAIR-Hamas type of political activism that these three advocate to their student audiences.

Hassan al-Banna founded the Muslim Brotherhood as a religious, social and political movement intended to revive the Islamic Caliphate and rule it according to sharia law. As stated in the Brotherhood’s by-laws:

“A Cancer for Civilisation”

On Saturday October 18, 2014, about 100,000 people congregated in Piazza Duomo in Milan to protest the invasion of Italy and against the immigrant-rescue operation “Mare Nostrum”. The event was organized by Lega Nord and hosted by its leader, Matteo Salvini.

There were some impressive speakers from many regions of Italy who described how much indigenous Italians are suffering, whereas the newcomers are treated so much better and funded so much more lavishly. There was much anger in their speeches.

The speaker in the clip below is Souad Sbai, an Italian politician of Moroccan origin, a journalist, a women’s rights advocate, and a one-time member of the Popolo della Libertà (People of Liberty) party.

Geert Wilders’ Plan to Save the West

Diana West’s latest column at Townhall.com features an interview with Geert Wilders that she was conducting just moments after the latest outbreak of “extremism” in Canada. Some excerpts are below:

I was near Washington, D.C. interviewing the visiting Geert Wilders, leader of the Netherlands’ Party for Freedom, when the news flashed that Michael Zehaf-Bibeau, the Canadian convert to Islam who terrorized Ottawa on Wednesday, had previously had his passport lifted by the Canadian government as an officially designated “high-risk traveler.”

That means that before Zehaf-Bibeau put a bullet through the chest of Cpl. Nathan Cirillo, a young reservist standing guard with an unloaded rifle at the Canadian National War Memorial, and before Zehaf-Bibeau rushed into the nation’s Parliament building, where, thankfully, he was gunned down by security before he could murder again, Canadian authorities had already identified him as someone likely to join the jihad abroad. In fact, so likely was Zehaf-Bibeau to join a group such as ISIS, Canadian authorities did what many Western governments are doing in the name of counter-terrorism: They took Zehaf-Bideau’s passport away.

“That’s the same as the other one!” Wilders notes energetically, referring to Martin Couture-Rouleau, also an Islamic convert and “high-risk traveler,” who drove his car into two Canadian soldiers in Quebec earlier in the week, killing Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent. Couture-Rouleau, who was shot dead at the scene of his crime, had had his passport taken from him in July when he was arrested at the airport before he could travel to Turkey.

In other words, but for good Canadian police work, it looks as if both of these murderers would have left Canada and disappeared into the bloody maw of the Islamic State. Phew — that was close?

A Pedestrian-Free Canada

The big news story* yesterday in Canada was the multiple beheadings of randomly-chosen pedestrians on the streets of Ottawa and Montreal. Prior to those attacks, the Islamic State had warned the Canadian government that Canadian civilians would be randomly targeted on the streets, just as they had planned in Australia.

In the wake of the tragic deaths, which officials emphasize had nothing to do with Islam, the Canadian government has announced strict new anti-extremism measures. One of them was a government directive ordering Canadians to change some of their routine activities:

IDSS director to Canadian citizens: Avoid being pedestrians in public

A top national security official Tuesday warned Canadian citizens to avoid being pedestrians in public to avoid becoming targets for extremists. The move was announced in the wake of deadly attacks on pedestrians in Quebec and Ontario.

In a directive titled “urgent measures,” Guillemot Hephzibah — who heads the Intra-Dominion Security Service, the Canadian equivalent of the Department of Homeland Security — tells citizens “to refrain from acting as pedestrians on the streets of Canadian cities and towns.”

The note also asks citizens to avoid footpaths in parks for the time being and to get the message out quickly, according to the Halifax Herald News.

The IDSS directive was sent out about an hour after the latest beheadings in Ottawa and Montreal.

In Halifax, IDSS spokesman Rademar Griswold told the Herald News that civilian security measures have been changed from the norm.

“The Canadian public is continually adapting to meet the demands of an evolving security environment,” he said.

In a press conference this afternoon, Director Hephzibah told reporters that the new provisions were urgently needed, and would apply to all citizens and residents of Canada.

“The extremists who commit these bestial criminal acts single out pedestrians as their targets,” he said. “Therefore, we intend to deny them these targets.”

Gates of Vienna News Feed 10/23/2014

A man named Zale Thompson staged a sudden unprovoked hatchet attack on four policemen in New York City today, injuring two of them, one of those critically. The two other cops responded by shooting Mr. Thompson to death. A woman who happened to be passing by was critically injured by a stray bullet. Mr. Thompson’s Facebook page was found to contain Arabic writing and an old photo of a mujahid. Nonetheless, New Yorkers will be relieved to learn that the incident had nothing to do with Islam.

In other news, the Canadian man who killed a soldier in Ottawa yesterday before being killed himself was reportedly kicked out of a mosque in Burnaby, a suburb of Vancouver, for acting strangely and being inappropriate. Meanwhile, the commander of Canada’s Atlantic forces has warned the men under his command not to wear their uniforms in public.

Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka-Dot Minority

Gates of Vienna readers are familiar with the Baron’s ‘enjoyment’ of the myths that will not die and refuse to shut up despite the large body of evidence to their contrary.

We all know them by heart now -i.e., “Islam is a religion of peace” [actually, Islam is a religion of peace and quiet once they have killed off dissent, starting within Islam itself]. This was a particular favorite of George Bush once he got his mind right and stopped talking about “mounting a crusade against ‘evil'”. Poor George.

There are others which I’m sure our readers can quite readily count off on their fingers. However, the Baron’s favorites are THNTDWI, This Has Nothing To Do With Islam and that other fave – any violence in Islam is carried out by a Tiny Minority. Usually the I-word isn’t mentioned,but there seems to be an uptick in the T-word as increasing numbers of jornolists are forced to resort to employing the word “Terrorism” if they want to maintain credibility.

This brief compelling video by Ben Shapiro nicely shreds that bloated Big Fat Tiny Minority Lie ™. He calls it The Myth of the Tiny Radical Muslim Minority, which has a certain cadence, no? I see “Tiny Radical Muslim” and it makes me think they’ve brainwashed a group of pygmies. Hey, they could have…


Another thing: the style with which Mr. Shapiro marches out these demographics is quite lively. I would’ve have to practice for weeks to get them down that well.

Jihad in Canada

“What you don’t know will kill you.”

The following phone call to the Lowell Green show on CFRA talk radio in Ottawa was made after a soldier was murdered by a jihadi in Montreal on Monday, but before a soldier was murdered by a jihadi in Ottawa on Wednesday.

The caller’s words are even more apropos now.

New International Freedom Alliance (IFA) to stop the Islamisation of the free world

Speech Geert Wilders, Nashville, Tennessee, 21 October 2014, USA

Dear friends,

Thank you for attending this very important meeting.

It is great to be back in Tennessee, the Volunteer State.

I am traveling from Los Angeles to DC, but I insisted on coming to Tennessee for a very good reason.

Two centuries ago, General Andrew Jackson was tasked with raising an army to liberate New Orleans. When he sent the call out to Tennessee, five times the number expected from your State showed up. The Tennessean Volunteers were noted for their valor in combat.

Many things change in two centuries, but the volunteer spirit and the valor of Tennessee has not. That is why I am here tonight.

I am not going to beat around the bush. I need your help. We have a rendezvous with history here today. Outside, a war is going on. War has been declared on us. The situation is far worse than you can imagine.

For over a decade, I have been warning against Islam. This cruel totalitarian ideology wants to turn the entire world into an Islamic caliphate, ruled by Sharia law.

What this means can currently be seen in the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq. There, people are beheaded and women and children are sold as slaves, in the same way as Islam’s founder Muhammad did in the 7th century.

America and its allies are currently bombing the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq. Dutch F16 planes are part of this offensive. My party supports this wholeheartedly. We support the United States. But there is more to be done.

The free world is in danger.

Our Judeo-Christian civilization is in danger. Islam is threatening our home countries. So we have to do more than eradicate the dark forces of the Islamic State in the Middle East.

As a matter of fact, our first task is to protect our own nations, our own freedoms, our own children, our own civilization, here, at home. That should be our first priority.

What is happening in Syria and Iraq today is what we will suffer in the future if we do not wake up to the danger. We have welcomed in our countries and cities an ever growing number of people whose Islamic values are totally incompatible with ours.

Islam is a mortal threat to Christianity, to Judaism, to Humanity. Islam is incompatible with democracy and freedom.

Already there are significant Islamic populations in every major city in Western Europe. And also in many cities in Australia, Canada and the United States.

Islam is taking over European societies. In my own country, the Netherlands, Muhammad is the most popular name among newborn boys in major cities such as Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague.

This is also the case in the Belgian capital Brussels, the Norwegian capital Oslo, the British capital London and as a matter of fact even in the whole of Great Britain.

The Prodigal Returns

I go away for one day, and wouldn’t you know it, a vicious violent extremist decides to commit murderous acts of extremism in and around the parliament building in Ottawa. Despite the tragedy of yesterday’s events, we can all breathe a sigh of relief knowing that the incident had nothing to do with Islam.

Last night in the motel room I kept flipping back and forth from Fox to CNN, watching all the coverage on Ottawa. Some of it was good, some not so good.

I’ll have more to say on this topic eventually. In the meantime, see Vlad’s place for all the details. It’s his hometown, after all.

Interview With a Kurdish-German Biker

The day before yesterday we posted a pair of translated articles about members of a Kurdish biker gang in Cologne called the Median Empire who traveled to Syria to fight with their fellow Kurds against the Islamic State in the siege of Kobani.

According to some sources, Islamic State forces launched a mortar attack that hit the US embassy in Baghdad. But other sources say the mortar rounds fell short, and did no damage to the embassy. Meanwhile, American arms intended for the besieged Kurds in Kobani were dropped behind ISIS’ lines by mistake, and are now in the hands of the Islamic State.

In other news, a spokesman for the Taliban in Afghanistan was fired from his job for pledging allegiance to the Caliph of the Islamic State.
