A Million Dragon’s Teeth

In an email exchange about American military and foreign policy, Takuan Seiyo gave the following answer to a sardonic remark about the possibility that Barack Hussein Obama is actually a KGB agent:

There is some possibility that BHO is a Manchurian candidate, but I rather think that it’s like Islam’s work.

The Soviets no longer need to go to the trouble of elaborate plots. They poisoned the minds of Obama’s teachers’ teachers. When you grow up on Saul Alinsky, what else is needed as preparation for serious sabotage?

It’s the same thing with Islam. They always look to root out Al Qaeda, while importing millions of Muslims. But if you’ve got Islam you don’t need Al Qaeda anymore; the root of the terrorism is in the religion itself.

You may slay the dragon as the US did the USSR and Bin Laden, but a million dragon’s teeth will grow spontaneously anyway.

Gates of Vienna News Feed 3/23/2014

The National Front made extensive gains in French municipal elections. Dissatisfaction with President François Hollande and the Socialists and anger at the rampant cultural enrichment of France have prompted French voters to mark their ballot for the “extreme right”.

In other Islamophobic news, Geert Wilders and the PVV have dropped from the top position in Dutch polls in the wake of Mr. Wilders’ role in leading the controversial “Fewer Moroccans” chant.

Clever Cannibals?
by Fjordman

Michael Rockefeller was born in 1938 and disappeared in November 1961 during an expedition in what was then still Dutch-ruled New Guinea. He came from the very rich and powerful Rockefeller family. His great-grandfather — John D. Rockefeller of Standard Oil fame — was not just the richest man in the USA. He is often ranked as one of the wealthiest human beings who has ever lived.

Officially, Michael Rockefeller was presumed to have either drowned or been eaten by a crocodile. However, in 2014 the veteran journalist Carl Hoffman published a book entitled Savage Harvest: A Tale of Cannibals, Colonialism, and Michael Rockefeller’s Tragic Quest for Primitive Art. He there presents a very different tale: that Michael Rockefeller was murdered and ritually eaten by a violent tribe of local cannibals.

There were rumors that this had been the case already in the 1960s. Hoffman had these stories confirmed by the locals while staying with the same tribe in New Guinea multiple times. The killing was partly in revenge for a standoff where Dutch colonial officials had killed several tribe members three years earlier. The tribe therefore wanted to kill a white man, any white man, in retaliation for the deaths.

In doing so, they followed an extremely ancient cultural pattern of revenge killings and ritual cannibalism. Tribe members in 1961 plunged a 10-foot spear into Michael Rockefeller’s chest while he was still swimming. Afterwards, they cooked his limbs over an open fire and ate them. He was probably dismembered in what Hoffman calls an act of “sacred violence.” Eating the brain was the high point and delicacy for the New Guinea cannibals.

Carl Hoffman describes how a hole was made in the skull and that only the senior men ate it: “They shook the brains out onto the leaf of a palm, scraped inside the skull with a knife to get every last bite, then mixed the mass with sago, wrapped the leaf up, and roasted it on the fire. This food was special.” When it was all over, they wrapped what remained of the skull in banana leaves, packed it in one of the canoes and paddled home.

Professor Jared Diamond in 1997 published the work Guns, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies. It became an international bestseller, was translated into many languages and earned him a Pulitzer Prize. He writes specifically in order to dispel alleged historical Eurocentrism.

Naked in Berlin

Last Thursday a group of Femen demonstrators interrupted an Islamic presentation in Berlin with a topless protest on the stage during an “Islam Week” event focused on the autonomy of women. The protesters were objecting to a presentation by a speaker from Milli Görüs, a radical and subversive Turkish Islamic organization. (See the report in The Daily Mail for more.)

The video of the incident (which I’ve placed below the fold) includes shots of half-naked young women with obscene slogans painted on their bodies. Readers who find such images disturbing should avoid watching the video.

Feminism and Islam

Our Swedish correspondent Mårten Gantelius returns with a brief look at the parallels between feminism and Islam.

Feminism and Islam
by Mårten Gantelius

The word “feminism” is dezinformatsiya just as ”socialism” and “communism” are. The words imply that these ideologies represent women, weak people and the working class respectively. They don’t!

Feminism Islam
Not equal under the law Sharia
Placing themselves as victims Same
Stealing from men Stealing from infidels
“Woman-hater” “Islamophobe”
Threats Same
Lying Taqiyya
Collectivists. No facts, please. Same
Brutality Same
Aggrieved women Blasphemy
Exterminate men Caliphate
In the best interests of children Religion of Peace
Reprisals Fatwas
Schools of Social Work,
Social Authorities,
MSM, Women’s Refugees etc.
Mosques
Men that are feminists Dhimmis
Hate Same
Infiltration, affirmative action Same

The Swedish Feminist leader Gudrun Schyman said “Men are animals” and got away with it. If a man were to say “Many single mothers are criminals” — which is true — he would be sued for discrimination.

The Muslims slaughter thousands of Christians and Jews. A Muhammad cartoon causes a fatwa.
If women were to start a company “exclusively for women”, it would be regarded as “a worthy initiative”. If men were to do the same, they would be convicted of discrimination.

Maybe this is off-topic, maybe not. In 1977 or ’78, I saw a performance entitled “Ditto Daughter” at a small theatre in Copenhagen. The author was the well-known Elsa Gress Wright, married to the American painter Clifford Wright.

In the play, two women were speculating about how things were 500 years ago when there were still men on the planet. The only male individuals now were castrated slaves to be used for necessary physical work.

Among other things, they quoted Lord Byron and D.H. Lawrence, but they had big trouble catching the point. A thought-provoking and very witty performance.

This vision won’t come true. Paradoxically, Islam is the guarantee of the survival of the male sex.

Case Adjourned Until July

As mentioned here on Wednesday, Tommy Robinson, the former leader of the English Defence League, was summoned to appear in court that day on charges related to his speech at an EDL demo in Tower Hamlets last September. However, Tommy never made it to court — he refused to leave the prison where he is currently held, since it would have meant being returned to a different and more dangerous prison, where he would have been held in solitary confinement.

According to a source in the EDL, Tommy’s case was adjourned in his absence and rescheduled for July 17th. I presume the authorities will drag the process out as much as possible in order to put him through administrative and judicial hell.

But at least we can all be thankful that he didn’t end up in solitary confinement again.

Wilders Delenda Est!

The following article by our Dutch correspondent H. Numan provides some a useful follow-up (and palate-cleanser) to last night’s post about the “Dutch” rapper who targeted Geert Wilders for mock assassination in his latest video.

The political climate in the Netherlands surrounding Mr. Wilders now resembles the demonization of Pym Fortuyn in the months leading up to his assassination almost twelve years ago. In order to facilitate the permanent elimination of a popular politician, any shame concerning his murder must first be removed from popular culture.

It’s not as if the major Dutch political parties custom-ordered that video from a Muslim thug-rapper. “Kill Geert” is simply part of the ubiquitous political atmosphere in the Netherlands at the moment. Everyone — liberal or conservative, native or immigrant — is breathing it. Hozny just inhaled it more deeply than most.

Wilders Delenda Est!
by H. Numan

On Wednesday 19 March municipal elections were held in The Netherlands. What follows is a lengthy article what happened afterwards and why.

As expected, the labor-conservative coalition got a drubbing. The PvdA (labor party) lost massively. So did the VVD (conservative party). Just slightly less.

The winner was, as expected, D66. This is a center-left wing party. Left-wing enough for disillusioned labor voters to vote for, and at the same time conservative enough for conservatives to vote for. As we often say here: conservative D66 voters are VVD voters with a conscience. This party has no other principles than ‘how do we get elected today?’

There is only one real issue D66 stands for: get rid of Geert Wilders! This party mainly focuses on people with a better than average income and is the party most in favor of the EU. Something which the PVV (Wilders’ party) firmly opposes. Both D66 and the PVV are offspring of the VVD party. But you couldn’t find any two parties more opposite to each other.

Not that long ago Dutch politics used to be dominated by four parties: VVD (conservatives) on the center right, CDA (Christian Democrats) somewhere in the middle, together with D66 a bit more to the left, and PvdA (labor) on the left.

Then a new party came along, with a very different agenda. The PVV, whose main issues are: (1) does The Netherlands need so many Muslims, in so many important positions, with so much attention (social welfare)? And (2) do we really need to remain in the EU?

The PVV electorate are the common folk ignored by main stream parties. Something very Dutch, actually. We call this group ‘de kleine luyden’, that’s old fashioned Dutch for ‘the little people. It’s not the first time those people have been ignored.

The conservative VVD is an abbreviation of ‘People’s Party for Democracy’ in Dutch, but can also be translated as ‘Society for Managing Directors’ (Vereniging Van Directeuren) which would be a much better description of that party. The ‘little people’ in that party are the ones serving drinks or cleaning up after a meeting.

The CDA (Christian Democrat) Party used to be the voice of those little people. A long time ago. The CDA is a merger of the Roman Catholic Party together with two Protestant parties. The ‘kleine luyden’ were in the past staunchly conservative Catholic and/or Protestant.

The CDA party was formed as a response to their individual member parties’ losing out to secularization. By merging they were still able to dominate the political landscape, which they couldn’t do alone anymore. This worked for about twenty years. However, secularization is an ongoing process. Since 1980 they have gradually lost so much support that the ‘C’ nowadays is an empty meaningless letter.

The Christian Democrat Party warmly welcomes any religion, especially the one worshiping a black stone in the desert. Representing ‘the little people’ is just about the last item on their agenda. Having lost the national and previous municipal elections they have only one thing on their minds: how do we get back in?

Lastly the PvdA or Labor Party. The last in this list claiming to represent ‘the little people’, notably the workers. Since the late sixties they have focused on migration rather than on laborers. Anyone is welcome, but some are much more welcome than others. The PvdA today is the number one party focusing on ethnic minorities, especially the Islamic ones.

The PVV electorate are the lower social classes, up to and including average-income workers and a bit above. Hence the often voiced complaint that the PVV is actually an extreme left-wing party in disguise.

Nope, they aren’t. They are staunchly conservative. Not extreme right-wing nor even slightly to the left. They run the real risk of having to use the social welfare system a lot more than financially better-off people, and they see that the available funds are being squandered on lots of things, but none of them essential. Usually on something multicultural.

Oh! The Microaggressions!

A useful website called Global Voices has posted an article translated from the Spanish about the latest EU survey on violence against women in Europe.

Needless to say, the phenomena investigated by the survey include behaviors that only a dedicated leftist would describe as “violence”. This is the EU we’re dealing with, after all — what else do you expect?

On March 5, the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) published the results of a survey on violence against women [pdf], the most comprehensive of its kind ever conducted. Undertaken simultaneously throughout the region, it is the first time comparative data has been available by country on the kinds of violence women suffer in their families, at work, in public and on the Internet as well as the effect it has on their lives and the way in which victims respond to aggression.

The report is based on direct interviews with 42,000 female residents of the EU aged 18 to 74, and it reveals some staggering numbers. According to one of the videos presented along with the report, “the results show the scale of violence against women in the EU is vast, and simply cannot be ignored.” In the words of the FRA Director Morten Kjaerum:

The enormity of the problem is proof that violence against women does not just impact a few women only — it impacts on society every day. Therefore, policy makers, civil society and frontline workers need to review measures to tackle all forms of violence against women no matter where it takes place. [sic]

Some of the conclusions of the survey include:

  • 33% of women have experienced physical and/or sexual violence since the age of 15, while 5% have been raped.
  • 55% of women have suffered some form of sexual harassment (unwelcome kissing, hugging or touching) since the age of 15.
  • 75% of women in high level jobs or who are highly qualified have experience sexual harassment at some point in their lives.
  • 11% of women have experienced inappropriate advances on social websites or have been subjected to sexually explicit emails or text (SMS) messages.
  • 67% did not report the most serious incident of partner violence to the police or other organizations.

Surprisingly the countries with the highest percentage of victims of violence against women are in northern Europe: Denmark (52%), Finland (47%) and Sweden (46%), while Hungary (21%), Austria (20%) and Poland (19%) have much lower rates. Spain, at 22%, is well below average:

[…]

It seems counter intuitive that Scandinavian countries, which have higher rates of gender equality should also have higher rates of violence against women. Blanca Tapia, spokesperson for the FRA, explains in El diario [es] newspaper this apparent contradiction:

In countries like Finland, Denmark, Sweden or France, it is culturally more acceptable to talk about violence against women, so women are more likely to denounce it. Women in northern countries have greater gender awareness; they know they have the same rights as men and it is clear to them that there are certain things they do not have to put up with. They don’t let things get by them.

So because women in Scandinavia are more liberated, they are more likely to have the courage to report the abuse. Hmm… I’m not so sure I agree with that logic.

And it goes without saying that there are no statistics correlating the level of cultural enrichment with the rate of gender-based violence, so there’s no way to tell whether it is Swedes or “Swedes” who are whaling on their womenfolk.

As is usually the case with politically correct news articles, the most interesting content may be found in the comments. Not all the Spanish-speaking male readers are as ready to buy the feminized zeitgeist as their purportedly male counterparts in northern Europe:

Rappin’ on Geert

On March 18, 2014, the “Dutch” rapper Hozny released a new song called “Geertje”, along with a video.

The video clip shows a man in a blond wig representing the Dutch politician Geert Wilders, the leader of the Party for Freedom. The fake Geert is abducted by armed men and brought to Hozny, who makes him kneel in front of an Islamic flag. The clip ends with a shot of Wilders being executed.

In his lyrics Hozny refers to Volkert van der G., the assassin of the Dutch politician Pim Fortuyn, and Mohammed B., the assassin of the Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh. Both men were murdered because they were critical of Islam. Hozny hopes that Geert Wilders will have them as cellmates.

Mr. Wilders is taking the implied threat seriously. According to Dutch News:

Geert Wilders, leader of the anti-Islam PVV, said on Tuesday he will take legal action against a rapper for a video clip featuring a man in a bad blonde wig being kidnapped and possibly shot. ‘If this is no threat, then what is?’ Wilders said in a reaction to the video, from Frisian rapper Hozny.

And the NLTimes:

Wilders will file charges against Hozny. [Prime Minister Mark] Rutte also condemns the video. The Minister of Justice and Security, Ivo Opstelten, had not seen the clip yet and stated the Public Prosecution would have to review the clip to assess whether the law was violated.

Below is a subtitled version of the controversial video. Many thanks to SimonXML for the translation, and to Vlad Tepes for the subtitling:

To Be Considered: Are Socialists Fun-Impaired?

Some visible differences were on display in the videos of a debate in a Oxford Union debate in December on whether or not socialism “works”. As someone committed to conservative principles, I was interested to see what the socialists would say in defense of a system that is running out of time and running out of other peoples’ money.

What struck me most, though, were the differences in demeanor. I was tempted to suggest a private charity might offer the socialists some scholarships to a charm school.

Do you ever fall into a You Tube hole? You watch one and then an hour later you look up and realize you’ve been sucked in again. I started watching these displays because someone sent us a video of Daniel Hannan speaking to an Israeli marketing group. Like many of our readers, I enjoy watching Hannan for reasons beyond content; sometimes I don’t agree with him but mostly he gets it right about, say, America. The disagreements are minor; that he has attempted to understand what makes America tick makes him unusual.

Thus it was that after the first video, I looked on the sidebar to see what else was on offer by Mr. Hannan and so came across these December debates, with both ‘for’ and ‘against’ well-represented. And among those speaking “against” was Mr. Hannan, so I watched him explain why socialism is essentially unworkable.

See for yourself:

In the comments, one fellow said:

This was a compelling argument. The other side such as Robert Griffiths didn’t seem to be able to counter this. His ending especially the portion where someone asked “What about the right to be fed, to go to a good school, to get a job” and he responded “And where do you think you’d find the best opportunity for that in North Korea or in South Korea?” was pretty on point.

Definitely, Mr. Hannan is a disciple of Frederic Bastiat. Britain is fortunate to have him.

To be fair – we’re dealing with the question of socialism after all, so things must always be “fair” – there is equal time for a proponent of socialism below the fold. And what a self-righteous prig he is. I chose him because throughout the presentations of the “aginners”, who were having fun with their subject, his face and body language was the very picture of someone being tortured.

Be sure to notice the red-headed fellow sitting near the prune. The former was a bowlful of sour socialist jelly. His face seemed to get increasingly red and apoplectic as the Hannans and Dalrymples spoke. I take it back: the redheaded dude doesn’t need charm school. He needs to see one of those free doctors about his blood pressure.
