Mohammed, Shirk, and Swedish “Justice”

We all know that Islam is a wacky, distorted and crazy pseudo-religion.

What we did not know, and neither did the mohammedans themselves, is that they all must be killed most painfully or inevitably decapitated because they commit on a daily basis the worst sin of all: putting a partner alongside Allāh.

This is called shirk, that is, faith in more than one god, polytheism, or to value something as highly or more highly than Allāh, something that within Islam is the only sin for which forgiveness is not possible.

Allāh the exalted says, “Allāh excludes them from paradise who put a partner alongside Allāh’s and the fire shall be their last residence.”

Viktor Orbán: “Hungary Will Continue to Avoid of the Fate of Becoming a Migrant-Accepting Country”

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán recorded the following video report early yesterday morning, after a grueling all-night session of the emergency EU summit on migration. Mr. Orbán reported that the dissident member states — primarily the Visegrád Four, Austria, and Italy — had managed to prevent the imposition of mandatory migrant quotas and other pillars of German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s preferred immigration policies.

Muslim Street Prayers in the Rue Jean-Pierre Timbaud: The Message is That Faith is Superior to the Law

A couple of days ago we posted a cell-phone video taken on the Rue Jean-Pierre Timbaud in Paris, a brief tour of a street that has become so culturally enriched that it is no longer recognizable as part of France.

The following brief clip discusses open-air Muslim prayers on the same street, which block traffic regularly in repeated and unpunished violation of the law.

The agreement hammered out includes no assigned migrant quotas for member states, and Greece and Spain agreed to accept the return of asylum-seekers who registered in their countries. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that the migration-resisting states had “fended off Brussels”.

A man named Jarrod Ramos entered the offices of the Capital Gazette in Annapolis, Maryland and opened fire with a gun. He killed five people and gravely wounded an unspecified number of others. Mr. Jarrod allegedly held a grudge against the paper because it had reported on a criminal conviction against him.

In other news, the “Bucks County Bomber” has been caught. Federal and local authorities took a man named David Surman Jr. into custody on suspicion of preparing and detonating the explosives that have terrorized the Pennsylvania county for weeks. Mr. Surman allegedly held a grudge against the zoning authority.

Civility and Other Outdated Notions

Time to take notice.

As the public square becomes more and more degraded, as it is consumed by politics (as it once was inflamed by race or religion), it behooves us to pay attention to language. To paraphrase Jordan Peterson, our choice of words is vital to maintaining our own integrity.

Thus, on Gates of Vienna at least, we are going to enforce civility in our comment threads. Civility towards our friends is no problem; courtesy towards our sworn enemies loyal opposition is harder but even more necessary than ever – especially as those on the other side begin to melt in the middle and/or fray around the edges. Let’s take precautions against coming down with their viral infections.

What words will we [edit]? Well, the usual scatological phrases, the ones we learned in the schoolyard but (mostly) knew not to utter in front of the adults. But also scrubbed will be the clever though discourteous ways there are of twisting people’s names or titles. Thus Obummer for Obama is a no-go. So is Shillary for Hillary (and all her variations). Libtard/leftard is another go-to that won’t get through here.

There are lots of sites – Breitbart being one – that don’t moderate their comment threads. You can tell because the IQ level drops precipitously the further down you go into that thread (the permanent Administrative State busy pulling us underwater is not the only Swamp. We have them on the Right, too).

Leftist sites are much worse than Breitbart. For instance, it used to be dangerous to your own personal health to call for the death of a sitting president. Not anymore: you even get to describe your assassination in gory detail, or show up on Twitter holding a papier-maché facsimile of Drump’s head for the camera. Then you’re fêted for your clever double hit. One would be the head, the other would be the twist on his name. No Secret Service agent or FBI employee will show up at your door, as they used to do.

If we’re not careful, we could end up like this doctrinaire leftist who doesn’t understand the basics of the hospitality business in which she is engaged.

But at Gates of Vienna we do care. And we request that our commenters abide by our rules for civil dialogue. No doubt you’ve noticed when the words start getting slung around like yesterday’s hash, real dialogue becomes impossible. When integrity remains paramount natural, unforced courtesy blossoms.

Oh, and the comment edits people think Dymphna makes? Guess again. The B tracks the great majority of them. My eyes are worse than his.

The Italian government is prepared to block any results of this week’s EU migration summit if a declaration of shared responsibility for sea rescues is not included. Meanwhile, Interior Minister Matteo Salvini derided French President Emmanuel Macron in a CNN interview, saying that Mr. Macron had no lessons to give Italy. Mr. Salvini also predicted that the next year will determine whether the EU will continue to exist in its present form.

In other Italian news, according to a recent poll, support for the relaxation of gun controls has risen to 39% among the Italian people.

An Unauthorized Tour of Paristan

The following cell-phone video was recorded by a French mother driving her kids to school. With undisguised disgust she narrates the cultural enrichment of her neighborhood, with its mosque, hijabs, and an imam.

This footage was originally posted on YouTube, then later removed, presumably for violating YouTube’s “community standards” — which, like “community cohesion” in Britain, is codespeak for “slavish submission to sharia.”

Eyeball Update

I went to the retinologist this afternoon for my monthly examination, and received another injection in my left eye (for wet macular degeneration). Everything went as expected.

I’m a little bit worse for the wear and tear, so posting will be somewhat light this evening.

I’m also cheerful and filled with gratitude, because just fifteen years ago there was no way to treat wet macular degeneration. By this point I would have been well on my way to blindness. A needle in the eye every now and again seems a negligible price to pay in the larger scheme of things.

Elections Have Consequences

How quickly things can change.

America itself is now about to flip, in no small part due to Donald Trump’s presidency.

It’s Dr. Turley (again), this time with background and commentary on the breaking news of the resignation of a Supreme Court Justice:

Trump has already gotten one conservative on the Supremes’ team:
Neil Gorsuch. Adding another will change future generations of law in America. This is huge, guys.

Here is the White House list of possible candidates from the previous so-called “shortlist” used to pick Gorsuch.

And this is the infamous Federalist Society, which will have once more have significant input into President Trump’s second selection. The Senate grilling of whoever is chosen will be brutal. Expect every dirty political trick to be pulled out of the Dems’ hats in an attempt to short-circuit the next conservative nominee. The left is seeing its house of cards collapse; leftists never go quietly into that good night – you’ll be able to hear the shrieking from wherever you are.

Just think: these appointments could have been Hillary’s to make. She must be having another meltdown; by now, ol’ Hillary “Fukushima”* Clinton is probably radioactive. Bless her heart.

Next? Look for The Wall/Fence/Barrier to start growing again on our southwest border as Americans increasingly ask for a limit to immigration. With the Supremes’ recent upholding his list of terrorist countries as a valid immigration restriction, The Donald’s on a roll.

Will he gloat?? Does the sun rise in the east?
