Gates of Vienna News Feed 5/18/2022

In the southern California town of Palmdale, a man crashed his car into a building, tore off all his clothes, and then ran across the street into a McDonald’s where he stabbed an elderly man. When he tried to attack a security guard, the guard shot him dead. The elderly man is in the hospital and is expected to recover. The security guard was unhurt.

In other news, Nina Jankowicz, who was appointed to head the Disinformation Governance Board in the Department of Homeland Security, has resigned.

How Dare You Criticize My Hijab!

A Swedish father is in trouble with the law for complaining that Muslim teachers at his daughter’s school are fully veiled while teaching in the classroom. His views are considered unacceptable in Sweden, and he is being prosecuted for his “hate speech”.

Many thanks to LN for translating this article from Samhällsnytt:

Critic of Islam charged with harassment

In Ronneby, Former SD [Sweden Democrats] politician Tomas Lundberg criticised the fact that four teachers at his daughter’s school wear hijab and full Muslim dress. Tomas was reported to the police, and in the interviews the investigator says that one should not equate full Muslim dress with the Islamic State (ISIS). Furthermore, the investigators are noticeably bothered by Tomas’ Islam-critical views. But it doesn’t end there — behind the indictment is an SD-hating prosecutor. Now Blekinge District Court has convicted Tomas of the crime, and he must pay tens of thousands of kronor to the hijabbed teachers and the state. One of the hijabbed teachers said that they would rather see the police take Tomas to a forced course in Islam because of his “ignorance”.

In November of 2019 the 70-year-old property owner and father Tomas Lundberg published a Facebook post in which he showed a picture of several Muslim teachers in Säckebacksskolan.

In the post, Tomas wrote, among other things: “The children in my daughter’s 8th-grade class at Säckebacksskolan in Ronneby should not have to have teachers who express sympathy for foreign religious views through their frightening attire.”

In addition, he wrote: “It is not helped by the fact that Islam is difficult to distinguish from Islamism. Daesh (editor’s note: ISIS) should not be given a second chance in Sweden.”

Tomas also made it clear to his followers on Facebook that he was “not singling out Muslims as a group but only demanding that the school be politically and religiously neutral, especially with regard to teaching staff.”

Below is a screenshot of Tomas’ Facebook post, which is included in the preliminary police investigation report:

SD-hating prosecutor pushed on

Tomas’ post was something that police officers at the Democracy and Hate Crime Unit and the Karlskrona Prosecution Service could not tolerate. A police investigation was initiated and resulted in a charge of defamation and libel, but also a case of “incitement against a group of people” [hets mot folkgrupp] on another occasion.

Samnytt can tell you that the SD-hating prosecutor Lena-Marie Bergström at the Karlskrona prosecutor’s office was behind the investigation against Tomas. It is the same prosecutor who was involved in the earlier witch hunt against SD politician Christopher Larsson in Karlskrona.

In 2017, Christopher Larsson (SD) was reported to the police on suspicion of the opinion crime “incitement against a group of people” after writing a Facebook post in which he described it as “a day of sadness” and referred to the fact that the mosque in Karlskrona is to start calls to prayer on Fridays. “…Then for the first time the minaret will call out over Karlskrona that ‘Allah is great’, the same phrase ‘Allahu Akhbar’ that Islamists shout when they blow themselves up.”

During the investigation, the prosecutor Bergström was revealed to be an SD-hater who shared a video on social media equating the party with Nazism. As a result, she had to leave the investigation. Below is a picture from prosecutor Bergström’s Facebook account:…

Deputy Chief Prosecutor Marie Lindström took over the investigation against Larsson (SD) and shared Bergström’s view that it was a issue of opinion crimes. But in Blekinge District Court, the court ruled that the post was not punishable. Lindström argued that the district court was wrong and appealed to the Court of Appeal.

A Nice Culture-Enricher Gets Himself in Trouble

A Tunisian immigrant — an alumnus of the holding pen on Lampedusa — has gotten himself into a spot of bother in the French city of Nice. It seems the high-spirited “youth” forced his unwanted attentions upon a young English woman in the wee hours of last Wednesday morning.

One line in the following news story made me guffaw: “The individual was arrested while he was in the process of breaking the glass of a parked vehicle with a rock.”

How fortunate the French are to live in such a vibrant, diverse, colorful society!

Many thanks to Gary Fouse for translating this article from Le Figaro:

Nice: An illegal Tunisian suspected of raping a young English woman

May 16, 2022
by Guillaume Poingt

The individual, recently arrived from the Italian island of Lampedusa, was charged and placed in pre-trial custody.

A Tunisian, born in 1996, without fixed abode and with an illegal status, was charged with rape and placed in pre-trial custody on Friday, 13 May, Le Figaro learned from the prosecutor’s office in Nice. A judicial investigation has been opened.

The events, reported by Nice-Matin, occurred Wednesday, 11 May shortly after 5am in the Port neighborhood. A woman of English nationality, who was leaving Garibaldi Square, was followed by a man. The rape took place in an adjacent street.

According to our colleagues, The Center of Urban Supervision of the Nice municipal police, were able to retrace the steps of the victim and her attacker up to the point of the rape, captured by city cameras. Officers of the CSU found the presumed attacker an hour later in the same quarter. The individual was arrested while he was in the process of breaking the glass of a parked vehicle with a rock.

According to our information, the suspect had recently arrived from the Italian island of Lampedusa and was under the influence of drugs at the time of the rape of which he is accused.

The Droning of Transnistria

Map of Moldova showing Transnistria (predominantly Russian) and Gagauzia (predominantly Turkic)

Transnistria (“across the Dniester”) is a region of Moldova located between the Dniester River and the Ukrainian border. It is inhabited mainly by ethnic Russians, and has been quasi-autonomous since the breakup of the Soviet Union.

Moldova proper is populated by ethnic Romanians who speak a dialect of Romanian. Another fragmented ethnic region in Moldova, Gagauzia, is populated by descendants of Turkic people who settled there during the Middle Ages.

Since the war in Ukraine began, Transnistria has been targeted by drones launched from outside its borders. Mysterious explosions have been reported on multiple occasions.

Many thanks to Hellequin GB for translating this article from Anti-Spiegel:

More attacks on Transnistria from Ukrainian territory

Unnoticed by Western media, attacks from Ukrainian territory continue and a Ukrainian presidential aide has openly threatened war.

There are topics that don’t appear in Western media. This applies, for example, to all the overly frank statements made by Ukrainian President Zelensky’s most important adviser. This is Alexei Arestovych, whose name you should remember; see here for details.

Arestovych openly said that Ukraine is ready at any time to expand the war to Transnistria. Since Russian peacekeeping troops have been stationed there since 1992, this would be a very unpleasant situation for Russia, because the Russian troops there would be effectively cut off from supplies. Russia would either have to abandon them there or massively change its strategy in Ukraine to come to the aid of the soldiers there.

Western media recently reported on an explosion in Transnistria, but Western media have not heard anything about the fact that there have been constant new explosions and overflights by armed Ukrainian drones since then.

Russian television reported on this, and I translated the report. Before we get to the translation, however, I want to remind you once again what the region is about, because perhaps not all readers will be aware of it.

Moldova and Transnistria

Moldova is a small country with a short but difficult history. Located between Ukraine and Romania, the country is a former Soviet republic that experienced civil war after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Since then, the country has been divided and consists of Moldova, which is recognized under international law, and the breakaway Republic of Transnistria. The civil war was ended by an agreement between Moldova and Russia, and Russian peacekeepers have been protecting the former front line for almost twenty years now.

Moldova is comparable to Ukraine because it is a multi-ethnic country where the dominant Moldovans, who are often referred to as Romanians, discriminate against the languages of other minorities. For example, although Russian is widely spoken and used primarily in cities and in business, it does not have the status of a national language. Exactly these ethnic problems were the reason for the civil war at the time.

Moldova has written into its constitution that it is a neutral state. However, in late 2020, the pro-Western, US-educated politician Maia Sandu, closely associated with George Soros, narrowly won Moldova’s presidential election. After that she also replaced the government with controversial political maneuvers in 2021 and has been consistently leading the country West since the summer of 2021.

After taking power completely, she openly announced a “cleansing” of the country’s judiciary in the summer of 2021, which was presented positively in the West and as a measure to fight corruption. In truth, it was a political purge, as Sandu wants to cement her country’s westward course and remove its opponents who want to preserve the country’s neutrality. Sandu also spoke of needing support from the USA for the upcoming reforms and shortly thereafter described the USA as an important strategic partner.

As early as January there were indications that the situation in the region was getting worse; you can find details about that here.

Now we come to the translation of the report from Sunday evening’s news review from Russian television on the current situation in Transnistria.

Start of translation:

Transnistria: Moldova tightens blockade

Officially, Transnistria is on the “red” terrorism threat level. As recently as Thursday a drone with explosives launched from Ukraine was neutralized over the territory of the republic. Four explosions occurred near the village of Voronkovo, near the Ukrainian border, on Friday evening. A report from Transnistria.

The site of the explosion is cordoned off. The area may not be entered. Behind the cordon is a Military Unit that has been the target of several terrorist attacks over the past two days. Another provocation by the Ukrainian Secret Services.

Och! The Puir Wee Syrian Bairns!

Many thanks to Hellequin GB for translating this article from Die Zeit:

Federal government pledges one billion euros for Syria

Millions of Syrians are dependent on humanitarian aid, and the war in Ukraine is worsening the supply situation. The EU countries have pledged billions in aid.

At a Syria donor conference in Brussels, the German Development Ministry and the Federal Foreign Office pledged €1.05 billion in aid for the coming years. “The money is intended to improve the life prospects of the people in Syria and the neighboring countries that have been badly affected by the Syrian war and have taken in millions of refugees,” it said. According to the Federal Development Ministry, the money comes from this year’s federal budget and is to be used in the coming years.

“Even if Europe is naturally looking at Ukraine right now, we are not forgetting the Syrian civil war and the suffering it is causing,” said Development Minister Svenja Schulze (SPD) in a statement. Further money for development cooperation is being planned. In Syria alone, almost fifteen million people are dependent on humanitarian aid, and twelve million people are at risk of being fed. The situation is also getting worse in the neighboring countries of Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq, where many Syrians live. Not least because of the Ukraine war, which has resulted in rising wheat prices.

At the start of the donor conference, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell drew attention to the effects of the war in Ukraine on Syria. Already, 60 percent of the Syrian population suffers from food insecurity and hardly knows where their next meal will come from, Borrell said. For the EU, he announced aid of €3.16 billion for the period 2022 to 2023.

“Our strong political commitment to Syria must be backed up by an equally strong financial commitment,” said the foreign policy officer. The EU will maintain sanctions against the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. A normalization of relations cannot take place until the Syrian refugees can safely return home, Borrell said. Aid organizations hope that the conference, jointly organized by the EU and the UN, will draw some of the world’s attention back to Syria. The funds are also to be used to help the 5.7 million Syrian refugees who live in neighboring countries.

Afterword from the translator:

It is always remarkable how the government generously distributes German tax money in all directions as if there were no tomorrow, while the local working population can still pull the cart and is burdened with high taxes to cover the endless expenses.

Brandtner from AfD stated that after retiring as chancellor, Schröder has six people who are paid by the taxpayer.

Mutti Merkel gets by with ONLY nine people, at a cost of €100,000 per month! It’s hard to believe that the people are putting up with this.

Audit the Vax!

Virginie Joron is a French member of the European Parliament for Rassemblement National (National Rally). In the following video from the floor of the EP, Ms. Joron calls out the European Commission for the non-transparency of the EU’s purchases of doses of the COVID-19 “vaccine”. Billions of doses of the vax were bought and paid for by the EU, and a large proportion of them will have to be destroyed because they will remain unused after their expiration date.

Death by Cop

Even before the “pandemic”, German police had become noticeably more physically aggressive in their treatment of ordinary citizens. But after Corona was unleashed, police officers took the opportunity to handle people even more roughly if they were identified as posing a threat to public health.

The following article reports on a mentally ill man who died after his encounter with police in Mannheim. Many thanks to Hellequin GB for translating this article from Tag24:

Officer Hits Him in the Head, Man Dies: Police Scientist Stunned

According to police scientist Thomas Feltes, the way the police dealt with a mentally ill man who died last week after a police check in Mannheim was disproportionate.

It was clear to the officials that the 47-year-old was mentally ill. “That makes the case so unbelievable for me,” he told the Stuttgarter Zeitung and the Stuttgarter Nachrichten.

“In such cases, the police officer should know that the person reacts differently to certain police measures than other people.” According to his estimates, in three out of four cases in which a person dies after a police measure, the person concerned is mentally ill.

On the one hand, police officers usually do not know how to deal with such people. On the other hand, it is often difficult for them to recognize a mental illness. The man died after police checked and overpowered him.

A doctor from the Central Institute for Mental Health had previously informed the police that a patient might need help. Videos circulating online show a police officer beating a prone man’s head. The authenticity of the film sequences has been checked. Punches in the face are permissible for a person who is standing, Feltes said. But here a person was lying on the ground. The incident caused widespread criticism of the actions of the police.

Afterword from the translator:

The fear of a dying dictatorship can be seen in the police violence.

After the many actions I’ve seen AGAINST the citizens at demos, trust is completely gone for me. Sure, there are those who aren’t like that, but that doesn’t change the fact of how they have treated the citizens in our countries over the last two years. Whether it was the old man whom they tore off his bike — from behind — just because he was openly carrying the Basic Law with him, or the attack on the young pregnant woman, or the old lady who got trampled by mounted police — the list is almost endless, and then it will only be the tiniest tip of the iceberg! I could throw up and cry at the same time every time I see the system’s henchmen strutting around with the knowledge that their actions are backed up by the state and subsequently the judiciary. Did anyone vote for THIS?

But the main thing is to point the finger abroad and rail against “dictatorships” and how inhuman, repulsive, unacceptable this is…

Ukraine: The Pfizer and Moderna Open-Air Testing Laboratory

The following article contains a lot of Russian material which may or may not be fully factual. Readers are advised to activate their inner skeptic when reading this essay.

That said, much of what the article talks about has already been published, at least partially, by non-Russian sources. And the United States government, in the person of Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland, acknowledged the existence of US-sponsored “biological research” facilities in Ukraine. She did not use the more loaded term “bioweapons laboratories”, but attempting to parse the difference would require casuistry. Given the nature of the pathogens that were mentioned as objects of “research”, biological weapons must have been at least part of the mix.

We may learn more about all this if the Russians ever hold their promised public hearings on the topic, and also if those alleged NATO military officers are eventually rousted out of their tunnels under the Azovstal plant in Mariupol and taken into Russian custody.

Many thanks to Hellequin GB for translating this article from Anti-Spiegel. The translator’s comments are in square brackets:

Test area for Pfizer & Co.

New documents released on US bioweapons program in Ukraine

The Russian Ministry of Defense has released new documents about the US bioweapons program in Ukraine, in which Pfizer and Moderna were also involved.

Let me remind you that the Russian statements about the US bioweapons program are not Russian propaganda, but that I and my informant, with whom I did research for the book Inside Corona, already have much of the information now published by Russia, known from publicly-available sources. However, the Pentagon recently took most of it offline to cover their tracks, as I have pointed out here.

The publications of the Russian Ministry of Defense did not surprise me, because, firstly, there had already been publications by investigative journalists, and secondly, after researching Inside Corona, of which I was already aware, because in Ukraine, for example, the same Peter Daszak researched coronaviruses from bats, who also researched them in Wuhan, China.

None of this is bad Russian propaganda; you can find that out on the website of his NGO EcoHealth Alliance, details to be found here.

The chronology of Russian publications

At the beginning of March, the Russian Ministry of Defense published documents proving that Ukraine rushed to destroy dangerous pathogens after the start of the Russian military operation. In the West, meanwhile, it was denied that these pathogens even existed in Ukraine. Also in early March, the Russian Ministry of Defense published details about the pathogens that were being researched, and also announced which American organizations were researching them.

What was still “Russian propaganda” at the beginning of March was confirmed under oath by US Deputy Secretary of State Nuland a few days later at a hearing in the US Congress, but the Western Media did not consider this newsworthy. The Western media also did not find the fact that meanwhile the WHO called on Kiev just a few days later, mid-March 2022, to destroy “highly dangerous pathogens” that Kiev allegedly did not have, according to the Western media and politicians, to be interesting enough to report on it. That’s why hardly anyone in the West knows about it, while Russian media have reported on it in detail.

At the end of March, the Russian Ministry of Defense published further details and documents on the US biological weapons program in Ukraine, which revealed, among other things, that a New York company called Rosemont Seneca was involved in the financing.

Regular readers of Anti-Spiegel are familiar with the company because it played an important role in Ukraine in a different context. Incidentally, the company belongs to Hunter Biden, the son of the US President.

We Have Ways of Making You Drive Electric Cars

It seems that German citizens are less than enthusiastic about buying electric cars, so the government is increasing and extending financial incentives to stimulate them to do their duty.

If these new measures prove ineffective, I would expect more coercive strategies. Such as outlawing private ownership of internal combustion vehicles, for example — that would do the trick.

Many thanks to Hellequin GB for translating this article from the German public broadcasting service:

Ministry of Transport

Wissing has the billion-euro expansion of electric car premiums checked

According to a report, Federal Transport Minister [Volker] Wissing [FDP] wants to extend the purchase premiums for electric cars.

The Handelsblatt reports, citing a government report, that the FDP politician wants to keep the subsidies for purely battery electric vehicles or fuel cell cars until 2027. According to the coalition agreement, the premiums should actually expire in 2025. According to the report, Wissing is also committed to an expansion: under the plans, anyone who buys a car with a maximum purchase price of €40,000 should receive a subsidy of €10,800 instead of the previous €6,000. For more expensive vehicles, the ministry is planning a bonus of €8,400 instead of the previously promised €5,000.

This message was broadcast on Deutschlandfunk on May 9th, 2022.

Afterword from the translator:

Well, well, well…This looks to me that the sale or purchase of e-cars does not seem to be taking off as hoped and the e-car is developing more into a slow seller? This shouldn’t come as a surprise, given the rising electricity prices, the short range, the problems in cold weather, the long charging times, the scarcity of public charging stations and the risk of fire.

A friend of mine from my old hometown, who works for the Stadtwerke Bliestal (electricity supply), and who’s a member of the volunteer firefighters, told me a few years back that they do not want to go to accident sites — even fender benders — when there’s an electric car involved in the accident, because of the strong possibility of a sudden explosion of the battery. He also told me at the same time that in town there are two public charging-stations and only three private charging-stations allowed in homes, because if there were a fourth private one, and all were being used at the same time, the whole electrical grid of Blieskastel and the surrounding villages would collapse. Needless to say he’s very ANTI e-car.

The Islamization of German Schools is Progressing Inexorably

Many thanks to Hellequin GB for translating this article from Ansage:

The Islamization of German Schools is Progressing Inexorably

Islamization in Germany’s education system has currently reached a level of progress that was not assumed, even in the boldest projections of 2015/2016, when the long-term social effects of a predominantly Arab-Maghreb Muslim mass immigration under the pressure of the wave of refugees were anxiously discussed. Not just where over 90 percent of non-German students at so-called “hotspot schools” dominate everyday school life, but also wherever Muslim students are — still — in the minority, a fatal attitude of submission and docility has become entrenched among school authorities and government officials, which, in cowardly and anticipatory obedience, places avoiding conflict at all costs above even a weary remnant of cultural self-assertion.

Previous excitement in this direction has tended to be anecdotal, such as the dispute over burkinis in school swimming lessons, the display of crucifixes in classrooms, the ban on pork in canteens, or time off for Muslim prayers. In the meantime, the obtrusive expectations with which the local Ummah is replete — often with the abusive use of trigger terms such as “cosmopolitanism”, “tolerance”, “diversity”, and of course “non-discrimination” and “anti-racism” — call significantly further for the enforcement of special and particular rights. It no longer demands that locals and “organic Germans” (more correctly: the Christian-Western “traditional Europeans” among the population) allow the German and foreign Muslims in the country all their freedom — this claim has long been exceeded! — but that they adapt themselves to Muslim habits and cultural expectations.

Cultural appeasement

Two recent events at schools in Bavaria and North Rhine-Westphalia show how far the cultural appeasement pursued for this purpose — which is pure Islamization — has already progressed in this country.

Referring to a rule anchored in the house rules of a secondary school in Ebersberg as early as 2007, its headmaster this week imposed a ban on wearing” objectionable” clothes, which means short skirts and cropped T-shirts for girls. Teachers with a migration background had complained about this overly open fashion — and their cultural feelings had to be taken into account. According to the headmaster, his school stands for a “cosmopolitan society” (meaning the Islamic world) — but the principle asserts that “the right of the individual ends where others feel disturbed” — an interpretation of the constitutional principle of proportionality, with which one could have justified the disenfranchisement of Jews 88 years ago.

Perfidiously, said headmaster did not even shy away from pointing out the consequences of the “long-distance lessons because of Corona”, which left “traces”: There is just a difference between online and face-to-face classes; the school closures have made us aware of this. “School is different from the beach,” the headmaster stated — who also seriously instructed his class teachers to talk about and “discuss” this nonsensical topic with the students. Some even did it with a PowerPoint presentation, he rejoiced to say. Incidentally, the parents were not informed of this step.

Perversion of self-determination

Such a questioning of clothing fashions and censure of all too-“sinful” permissiveness, especially of female clothing, is fatally reminiscent of the mustiness and prudery of the ‘50s — only that it is the effect of a reactionary worldview that identifies itself as “religion”, but in truth raises an increasingly social claim to totality. The fact that wearing a headscarf or even a burqa is judged to be a legitimate expression of female self-determination while short summer skirts are branded as unseemly shows the perversion of this development, which not only turns 50 years of feminism and emancipation on its head, but also leads religious freedom to an absurdity.

The Knockout Game Comes to Antwerp

The following TV news clip from Belgium reports on a sudden attack on an American photographer by a culture-enricher in Antwerp. The incident, which was caught on video, reminds me of the “knockout game”, which was a fad here in the USA a few years ago. An African-American thug would randomly select a passerby, usually a white person, and clock him without warning from behind. It was customary to record a video of the incident and upload it to WorldStar Hip Hop or some similar site. The incident in Antwerp seems much the same, except that the perp is a North African.

The news report features an interview with Sam van Rooy of Vlaams Belang. As a matter of interest, ten years ago I shared a podium with Sam van Rooy at ICLA’s second Brussels conference.
