A drunken Syrian migrant drove his car up onto the sidewalk in the German town of Cuxhaven, injuring six people, four of them seriously. The cause may have been a fight in a nearby disco prior to the accident.

In other news, a man in a mall in upstate New York inadvertently discharged a firearm, injuring two people and causing a lockdown in the mall.

Taking it to the Streets — But Not Yet

Why don’t native citizens of Western nations take to the streets by the tens of thousands to protest what is being done to them, and demand change?

The above question is a recurring topic in comment threads here at Gates of Vienna. You might call it the “Pitchforks and Torches” question. Previous generations in the various nations of the European diaspora took to the streets with far less cause — or so it seems — than the current cohort has. So what has changed?

The reasons are complex, but the short answer is: Citizens of the West are not yet at the point where they have nothing left to lose.

Consider the streets of Berlin and Munich in 1919 and 1920. During the chaos that reigned in the early Weimar Republic, the Freikorps took to the streets almost daily to do battle with the Communists. This was before Fascism and National Socialism — the Freikorps were largely comprised of demobilized members of the Imperial German military, who came together to resist their arch-enemy, international Bolshevism. It was out of that milieu that the NSDAP (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, National Socialist German Workers’ Party) arose later in the 1920s. After the Nazis came to power, order returned to German cities, much to the relief of the average citizen. But the early years were the heyday of the street-fightin’ man.

So why isn’t something similar happening now?

The cultural deracination and population replacement that is currently being inflicted on Germans, Britons, Swedes, Austrians, and Frenchmen is arguably much worse than what happened in the aftermath of the Great War in Europe. Yet there is no indication of any uprising by the indigenous population. Nobody is taking it to the streets. Not yet.

One of the main reasons is that the average indigenous Westerner is far better off, in material terms, than were his counterparts in 1919. The average Berliner in those days had almost nothing, and the inflation of 1923 wiped out what little he had. Why not take to the streets and do battle with the Bolsheviks or the Nazis? He had nothing left to lose.

But Joe Europe has a lot to lose in 2017. Regardless of the fate of the Bolsheviks, Socialism won in the end. The megastate that is the modern EU (or the modern federal behemoth in the USA) caters to the citizen’s every need. If he decides to do something that meets with the disapproval of his masters, he may lose his job, his car, his house, his pension, and all the fripperies and gewgaws that keep his wife and kids happy. He may not like the fact that the streets are full of feral Third World immigrants, that his wife and daughters (or even sons) are increasingly likely to be raped by “refugees”, and that he himself may be car-jacked, mugged, or knifed as he goes about his business in his once-safe city. But a public protest has its price.

Demonstrating against current conditions has to be weighed against the penury and shame of what would happen if he spoke out against mass immigration and Islamization. He’s seen what happens to people who do such things — why should he take to the streets in protest over a lost cause?

“But Baron,” you say, “the antifas take to the streets all the time and do battle with clubs and rocks. Why can’t the ‘Islamophobes’ do the same?”

Street Prayers in Clichy: Now it’s Leftists vs. Fachos

We’ve posted several reports about the controversy over Muslim street prayers in Clichy-la-Garenne, a suburb of Paris. The story was unusual, because elected leaders, in full mayoral regalia, were among the demonstrators who gathered during prayer time to protest the blatant violation of the laws on laïcité.

Many people have been asking: “If street prayers are illegal, why don’t the police shut them down?” Oz-Rita has translated a piece about Clichy by Christine Tasin, the director of Résistance Républicaine (the embedded video was also translated and subtitled by Rita), that sheds some light on why the prayers continue unmolested.

Note: “facho” is a slangy abbreviation for “fascist” in French:

The street prayers in Clichy are a scandal. A scandal that lasts. A scandal of the State. Why does Macron’s State not end it? Easy, water cannons exist, right?

I remember the Prefect of Côtes d’Armor who had banned one of our demonstrations taking out the water cannons in case our people would not disperse.

Easy, when facing French citizens who respect the law. Unthinkable when facing Muslims who have trampled the law every week for 8 months. Unthinkable or rather… Macron does not want to. Why ?

Just look at the pictures of what happened yesterday in Clichy to see the second scandal, the worst without a doubt. Certainly it’s good to see these elected sing the Marseillaise against Muslims, but what we are witnessing is a frightful spectacle [translation and subtitling by Oz-Rita]:

Muslims, foreigners probably for a large part — and mainly foreigners in Clichy, according to the mosque and the Mayor — perform, in an obscene and provocative way, their prayer under the eyes of all, in the public space, imperturbable, while a few meters away, French citizens are tearing themselves apart…

…And it is they who are the spectacle, they are the ones who interest the journalists. The Muslim problem no longer exists in Clichy, thanks to Macron, it has become a Franco-French problem, the leftists against the Fachos. Not the leftists against the patriots, no, against the fachos. Because what will remain of this video, it is the cry of the little useful idiot: fachos!

Macron lets the leftists and other antifas defend them (the muslims).

They do not even need to get their hands dirty.

Almost half of the migrants in Hamburg who were registered as “minors” during the past year are in fact adults, according to the latest official report. The figure was 49% for this past year, whereas the year before it was only 47%.

In other news, the death toll in yesterday’s mosque-bombing in the Sinai by the Islamic State has risen above 300. Of those killed, at least 27 were children.

Are They Dredging Foggy Bottom?

Lots of Americans are wondering about the signs of conflict between the President and part of his Executive Branch, the hoary denizens of the State Department. There is an uncertainty that comes from a miasmal mist surrounding President Trump’s appointment as head of state, Rex Tillerson. These are both alpha males; things do not go smoothly in the pack if they can’t learn one another’s signals.

But even more interesting than the miasma surrounding those two is the great news that the State Department is slowly but surely shrinking. Along with our criminal IRS, State is another tumor on the body politic that must be reduced to a manageable size.

Bill Whittle’s triumvirate has hopeful statistics on the sinking of the unsinkable flotsam in Foggy Bottom. Pay attention to the numbers:

For those not familiar with these gentlemen, here’s some information on each commentator.

1.   Bill Whittle is the most well-known of the three. He recently married an immigrant from Russia. Better late than never. Here’s his wiki.
2.   Scott Ott is better-known from the old days as ScrappleFace. Back when we finally had enough bandwidth to access the wider reaches of the internet and to create Gates of Vienna, both the Baron and I immediately found his satire to be spot on. He is/was a satirist of some renown in conservative circles, writing under his pen name. Until these Three Musketeers began doing videos for Pajamas Media (before striking out on their own) I didn’t make the ScrappleFace-Ott connection. His eponymous website is rarely active anymore, but I do check it occasionally. Mr. Ott doesn’t have his own Wikipedia entry, but ScrappleFace does. He probably has a FaceAcheBook page but that’s not a pit we visit.
3.   Stephen Green is one of the first of the serious bloggers. He established Vodkapundit early on (you can find it archived by doing a search on that title). He is an Objectivist — i.e., a follower of Ayn Rand. While I find his commentary on Right Angle often cogent, I don’t care for Rand’s simplistic political philosophy. Still, Mr. Green has been around a long time. Most recently, as far as I can tell, he was a writer for Pajamas Media, but the contract seems to have died in 2016. [Pajamas Media appears to do unannounced “trimming” and one is left to guess who is still active there].
 

Three very different philosophies, which is what makes the chemistry of these three men all the more interesting. Mr. Ott is a professed Christian and active in his hometown. Green, I would presume from his arch expression at the mention of religion, is an atheist, and Bill Whittle is possibly an agnostic. But I’m only guessing on Whittle, based on years of watching his work. He often seems much like a deist from the era of America’s founders.

At any rate, these brief “Right Angle” discussions are better than anything you’ll see on the MSM. Blessings be especially upon them for not interrupting one another. I’ve given up on internet dialogues for that reason: the constant cross-talk is migraine-inducing.

Austria is a Democratic Dictatorship. Its Law Flows From Subjective Justice and Authoritarian Caprice

1. November 17, 2017 was literally a Black Friday.

Reinhard Fellner, a card-carrying Social Democrat as well as chief of “Initiative Social Austria,” was sentenced in provincial court to three months (three years on probation) for denigration of Islam (§ 283 StGb). Any ever-so-small criticism of Islam in the next three years will lead to the completion of the sentence. This is so much more shocking, since he made a very mild criticism, which is far below the level of criticism which would be possible and necessary in a free and open society, to call attention to the dangers endemic to Islam. He simply began to investigate to what extent (terrorist) acts of violence as well as sexual abuse of women, children and animals are connected to Islam. Fellner’s conviction is so much worse because he undertook this attempt in the course of participating in the assessment of a bill published on the Parliament’s homepage. So he was legally convicted for performing the honorable task of an active citizen, participating in the process of parliamentary lawmaking.

The proceeding against Fellner can certainly be called a scandalous trial. The court did not examine several expert assessments by experts on Islam offered by the accused as proof of the truth of his statements. Likewise, witnesses named by the defense were not allowed to testify. Although the document gives no indication of a complainant, the state prosecutor suddenly claimed that the charge had been brought by the IGGiÖ (Islamic Faith Community in Austria) which “had felt insulted” by Fellner. The defendant was also confronted with a newspaper article which had not been in the document before the trial began. To Fellner’s indication that Ayatollah Khomeini, the most significant Shi’ite of the 20th century, had given approval to sexual intercourse with animals, the judge responded that this was not significant and had nothing to do with Islam, since Khomeini was already dead. Altogether, there was no serious effort by the judge or the state prosecutor[2] to formally align the evidence of Fellner’s criminal activity with the charge. Instead, the judge and the state prosecutor voiced the opinion that hate speech would apply even if the defendant’s claims were true.

The verdict does not concern just a number of oddballs who have chosen Islam-criticism as their strange hobby. It is an expression of the continued pushing of a blatantly political and subjective system of justice being established to enable the unresisted installation of a multicultural dictatorship, population replacement and Islamization. And it is a landmark in the transformation process which is morphing our disappearing democracy into an autocratic rule by mob.

This arbitrary judicial act is the inglorious apex of the years-long persecution of political undesirables using religiously- and subjectively-based punishment. The trail of devastation of the right to free expression extends over several prominent victims of political justice: from Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff and Pro Vita head Dr. Alfons Adam to the former Muslim convert Laila Mirzo, whose trial for “denigration of religious teachings” (§ 188 StGb) was adjourned, to be sure, but who was afterwards — because of her Islam-critical stance — denied her right be designated a journalist and Islam expert (February 5 of this year) by Kurier editor Karl Oberacher. An ultimate in judicial partisanship and scurrility is the recent verdict of an Innsbruck court of a €480 fine against a former district head of the “Ring of Free Youth” (RFJ, the Freedom Party’s youth movement), whose Facebook entry celebrated a “piglet barbecue” for Ramadan. (Der Standard of November 15, 2017)

For years, justice has applied subjective and religious law selectively and one-sidedly. While the Christian faith, its God, its commandments and its symbols may be besmirched and denigrated at will without a single prosecution in three decades, let alone a conviction, critics of Islam are habitually legally persecuted, even if their conclusions can be meticulously documented with reference to high religious sources.

2. The purposeful dismissal of freedom of opinion, convictions and scholarship through a selectively and arbitrarily applied religious system of criminal justice is not the only instrument which gives our society progressively more totalitarian characteristics. Relevant mechanisms can also be found in the judicial and administrative realms.

On June 17, 2017, the traditional “March of the Family” took place. While, on the Ring, decorated tractor-trailers growled along holding thousands of strident figures from every earthly and unearthly realm and hellish rubbish heap, displaying their painted genitals and writhing to a never-changing techno-rhythm — on Albertinaplatz, dedicated custodians of life and representatives of a Christian picture of marriage and family were having a peaceful demonstration. Nearby, lesbians with spiky, pink hair and hollow-cheeked stoner faces were chanting “If Mary had aborted, we would have been spared.” As the representatives of the culture of life formed up to march toward the Schottentor, hooded leftists blocked the passage to Josefsplatz and threw themselves at police who had arrived to protect the supporters of family. Shortly thereafter, the leader of the police detachment informed those in charge of the demonstration that violent and armed anarchists were waiting at the Freyung and in Schottengasse. He had been given too few personnel to control the situation. Serious injuries were not out of the question. He would urgently recommend halting the march and pulling back to Albertinaplatz. If not, the sponsors of the march would bear the responsibility for the consequences. The director of the demonstration sadly decided to turn around — very sadly, since the main purpose of the march had been to strike up conversations with passersby in the lively areas of the Freyung[3] and Schottengasse, and pass out flyers. What other purpose could there be in a public demonstration than to come into contact with the people and influence opinions?

Islamic activists detonated a bomb inside a mosque in the Sinai during Friday prayers, and then gunned down people who managed to escape from the carnage inside. At least 235 people were killed, and an undetermined number of others were wounded. The attack was carried out by Sunni militants, targeting a congregation who were predominantly Sufi, and therefore mushrikun, according to strict Sunni doctrine. The Egyptian government responded by launching air strikes against the Palestinian city of Rafah.

In other news, former Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa was sworn in as the new president of Zimbabwe, after the resignation of Robert Mugabe earlier this week.

Self-proclaimed “performance artists” install what they claim is a copy of Berlin Holocaust Memorial vis-à-vis AfD politician Björn Höcke’s private house.

On Wednesday left activists erected what they claim is a local version of the Berlin Holocaust Memorial made of concrete stones (but is in fact, according to police, made of papier-mâché boxes) next to the private house of the AfD politician Björn Höcke.

According to F.A.Z., the activists announced that they had covertly rented the property next to Höcke’s house almost a year ago, and that they had been monitoring and observing him 24/7 ever since. If Höcke would get on his knees before the memorial in Berlin, or before their “version”, they would cease to surveil him. As for now, according to Die Welt, they were looking for more staff to surveil him.

Björn Höcke became the hate figure of the mainstream media when in a speech in January 2016, he called the Berlin Holocaust Memorial a ‘Monument to Shame’. Even in their gleeful article today, Der Spiegel fail to mention that it was their very own founder Rudolf Augstein who coined that expression for the Memorial. The press also does not care that Höcke clarified that he wasn’t criticizing the memorial, but that he, in his words, “characterized the Holocaust — the genocide of Jews by Germans — as a disgrace for our people. And I said that we Germans installed a monument to this still unfathomable crime — this guilt — in the middle of Berlin.” (Down the Rabbit Hole With the AfD, Gates of Vienna, Feb. 23, 2017).

Interestingly, the leftist activists here aren’t ashamed of (ab)using the memory of this terrible crime in a cheesy mise en scène, for the very mundane purpose of attacking a politician they hate.

The activists call themselves “center for political beauty” and have been campaigning for years to bring in more refugees.

A look at the AfD’s results in the recent elections explains why Höcke in Thuringia, Thüringen (dark blue, in the center) is a main target, and not a prominent AfD figure from, say, Schleswig-Holstein (top):

There have reportedly been brawls between ‘artists’, the owner of the property they rented, and the press in the afternoon. Police have, according to F.A.Z., announced that they are protecting Höcke’s house.

In other migration news, a Swedish municipality near Stockholm plans to house migrants in spare rooms in a nursing home, due to an acute lack of other accommodations.

Happy Thanksgiving, Y’all

A double-barreled gratitude for us at Schloss Bodissey: not only is it Thanksgiving, but today is also the Baron’s and my wedding anniversary. How truly fortunate we are!

Every family has different holiday traditions. Entering into marriage, each of the partners brings ‘the creed, the cult and the code’ of those feast days from their own family of origin and from there the two people begin to negotiate what will constitute their holiday ritual(s). An example: during most of my life, a roast turkey was the main feature of this November feast. As the years wore on it dawned on me how much I truly loathed that bird. Except for the beautifully browned skin and the giblets, there was nothing to love. Thus began my search for a substitute.

Back in the time when there was still a small specialty butcher shop in town, I could order capon (and lots of other meats that have since gone out of style. Sweetbreads, anyone?). With the coming of Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods into the area, that store was squeezed out. These two big stores that were responsible for the demise of The Carriage House don’t even know what capon is, much less how to order one. Like other craftsmen, real butchers are disappearing. The only capon I could find was online, in Missouri, and far beyond our budget. Sigh.

Determined to stick with poultry, we moved on to duck. One year I even learned how to spatchcock one and what to do with the lovely rendered fat. Spatchcocking is a nice strategy for almost any kind of poultry. But not for this year’s Thanksgiving supper. Since the future Baron is our only guest, we’ll be having quail, marinated in the fB’s mixture. The fB is always happy to eat, and as accommodating to my peccadilloes as his father has always been.

Time to turn the quail in their marinade again. Not only do I love the flavor but sans stuffing they cook in twenty minutes or so. I’ll probably cover them lightly with buttered parchment paper so they don’t dry out.

Sides? Roasted potatoes, a relish tray, homemade cranberry sauce, and haricots verts with slivered almonds. I had planned on carrots and/or sweet potatoes, but virtue and sloth won out over the carb load those would provide.

Funny how life minimalizes everything as one approaches the gates of infinity. Someday, when I have more energy and there are no quail awaiting their turn in the oven, I will tell you the story of holding my very first brace of quail in one hand and a French cookbook in the other. The latter unveiled the mysteries of plucking feathers, cleaning out the innards, and roasting one of the most memorable meals I ever prepared. I was eleven years old at the time; that experience was to define many years of culinary adventures.

But I forgot: this is a day for gratitude! Besides, my good fortune in finding the Baron, in raising my children, etc. there are particular ones for this year. The main gratias I offer to the universe? That Hillary Clinton isn’t president. Another? That during our Thanksgiving supper there won’t be any smartphones or politics. Just good food, a wine picked out by our sommelier son and lots of laughter.

We will raise our first glass to toast you, the readers of Gates of Vienna. May God bless you all.

Now that the Italian government is interfering with the migration route from Libya to Italy, people-smugglers are devising different routes for getting their charges into Europe. Some traffickers are offering package deals that include a flight to Casablanca in Morocco as well as passage to Spain.

In other news, an NGO linked to George Soros is demanding that the European Union accept an additional 540,000 migrants from poor countries.

According to Focus, they have learnt from investigator circles that the arrested suspects were photographing rubbish bins, installed at hip height, on Kennedyplatz, where the Christmas Market will open soon. Investigators think this means the suspects intended to plant explosive devices in the rubbish bins. The suspects were also scouting the Limbecker Platz shopping mall and the nearby Rathaus-Galerie mall.

According to Hessenschau, data storage devices, mobile phones and laptops, and documents were seized. The investigators also found city maps of Essen with the Christmas Market location marked.

Six Arrests

Large-Scale Raid! ISIS terror suspects apparently planned attack on Christmas Market Essen

Tuesday, November 21, 2017, 1:59 PM CET

During large-scale raids in several German states on Tuesday, six alleged members of the Jihadist militia Islamic State were arrested. They are suspected of preparing “an attack with weapons or explosives on a public target in Germany”, the General Prosecution Frankfurt announced.

The suspects accordingly planned an attack on the Christmas Market Essen, Hessische Rundfunk learned from sources among the investigators. The plans for the attack were not yet completed. According to Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger they probably planned an attack on a shopping mall in Essen.

As the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger (Wednesday edition) learned from sources among the investigators, one of the men, a 20-year-old asylum seeker, together with other persons, was taking photographs of the shopping centre Limbecker Platz, Essen not long ago. The men pretended they were students of architecture. While they carried out this operation, they were allegedly already being observed by the authorities. The investigators became suspicious, as back in March there was a terror threat to this shopping centre in downtown Essen. It remained closed for several days. It is still not clear who was behind the threat.

This information is yet to be officially confirmed.

Police arrest six Syrians

The investigations concern six Syrians between 20 and 28 years old. Four of them have been in Germany since December 2014, and two came as asylum seekers in the late summer of 2015.

They are suspected of being members of a foreign terrorist organization and of preparing a grave subversive act of violence.

At the early Tuesday morning raid, 500 officers of the Hessian Land Office of Criminal Investigations and other police stations searched eight apartments in Kassel, Hannover, Essen and Leipzig. The authorities declined to specify more details.

Suspects entered Germany as Refugees

Welt first reported about the anti terror-raid in several German states. Accordingly, hints by refugees led the investigators on the tracks of the six men. They had come, using false identities, as civil war refugees to Germany.

The witnesses stated that the men had been fighting for the terror militia Islamic State in Syria. Investigations showed that the men had contact with each other and had radical-Islamic convictions, says the report.

The Multiculturalization of Eastern Europe

In the title of this post I refer to “multiculturalization” rather than “Islamization”, because Islam is just one of demolition tools chosen by the trans-national elites to deconstruct Western nations and cultures. Flooding the USA with illiterate Central Americans, for example, is another preferred method. In Europe, gypsies and non-Muslim Africans are always useful additions to the pool of “refugees” pouring into Europe. As an alternative to migration strategies, handy demolition tools include Pride parades, homosexual marriage, demands for transgender rights, and other initiatives designed to mainstream perversion and weaken traditional culture.

Our Romanian correspondent cxt sent this note about a Soros-funded effort to deconstruct Romania:

A video meant to promote the hundredth anniversary of the union of the Romanian regions features a black woman wearing a Romanian national costume walking around London. The video project was realized with the financial support of the Culture Ministry and the Romanian Cultural Institute in London.

Following negative reactions, the video was removed, but a copy is available on YouTube.

I passed the link on to participants in a skype group that includes Central and Eastern Europeans. It prompted a discussion between our Romanian correspondent Stefan Cel Mare and our Hungarian correspondent CrossWare. An excerpt is reproduced below:

Stefan Cel Mare:   The video was produced by ICR (Institute for Romanian Culture), and this is funded by Soros. The video was removed very quickly, and generated a war in Romania. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs had agreed on the project, but they didn’t knew about the movie. Romanians are [dumping] on the Facebook page of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. An investigation has been started regarding this.

Many people are talking about the $18 billion injected into Eastern Europe — looks like a few millions have been injected into Romania.

Romanians on YouTube and Facebook are saying : “You are all paid by Soros… What were you thinking of, using a crow to present traditional Romanian costumes? We have beautiful girls — and you selected an ugly crow.”

And imagine — those pages are not suspended or blocked. There are extreme racist messages, and nobody is blocking this.

Salut cxt… am inteles ca esti romanca… in Romania 🙂

They are pushing it, and I think I know why. They need to build a negative image of Eastern Europe. And when the West sees how savage Eastern Europeans are, then they will not care so much if actions are taken against the East.
CrossWare:   Seems like the Soros soldiers are busy screwing with Romania, too. You are spot-on, demonization…
Stefan Cel Mare:   But I really don’t know what they are thinking or plan to achieve? It was only logical that by doing this, you would have a massive attack against it.
CrossWare:   For a NATO hit against the barbarian Eastern Europeans.
Stefan Cel Mare:   NATO will not hit East… rather West. This is why the EU wants its own army.
CrossWare:   I think the banker elite is rushing things. Events are not happening according to plan; they improvise, and are making mistakes.
Stefan Cel Mare:   It is like presenting a cannibal from the Amazon making Magyar goulash using a Magyar woman.
CrossWare:   An EU army, loaded with Muslims.

No, I understand. They are screwing with you guys.
Stefan Cel Mare:   They are [dumping] on all of us… all of us with a functional brain.
CrossWare:   EXACTLY! Provoking us to lose our cool and respond to their provocation.
Stefan Cel Mare:   I am sure in the near future we will see these kinds of provocations regarding all Eastern European nations. They try to provoke aggressive reactions, so they can present the barbarians of the East. So… hold on tight and watch the ride.

They can do a lot of dirty things with $18 billion.

And while we are busy with this kind of garbage, something bigger is happening. And we are busy, so not paying attention. I just wonder, what can this be?

Bowing to intense pressure, Robert Mugabe has resigned as president of Zimbabwe. Mr. Mugabe ended 37 years of authoritarian rule with a resignation letter sent to the speaker of parliament.

In other news, two “Australian” “youths” were arrested for robbing a supermarket in a Sydney suburb at knifepoint, while wearing burkas.
