Gates of Vienna News Feed 11/15/2014

The ESA’s comet probe Philae was forced to shut down, but not before it had transmitted valuable data about the comet 67P to controllers on Earth. The probe landed in the permanent shadow of a cliff on the comet’s core, and was unable to obtain enough sunlight to keep its batteries charged.

In other news, Fuad Nahdi, a British Muslim with ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, has been invited to address the Church of England’s General Synod. The topic for the occasion will be the persecution of Christians in Islamic countries.

Dear friends,

It is always a pleasure to be in the United States. And it is an honor to be at Restoration Weekend again. Especially at this moment when a new Congress and a new majority in the Senate are preparing to lead this great country and change it for the better.

I am a politician from Europe. I am a member of the House of Representatives in the Netherlands and the leader of the Party for Freedom, the leading party in the Dutch opinion polls today.

Before I continue, let me tell you something about my life as a European politician. I am not a President, nor a Governor, nor even a member of Cabinet, just a member of Congress. For over ten years now, I have been living under 24/7 police protection. I lived with my wife in army barracks, prison cells and safe houses until this very day, just to be safe. Wherever I go, armed policemen accompany me to protect me against Islamic jihadis. Al Qaida, the Taliban, ISIS and many others threatened to kill me because I tell the truth about Islam and speak out against the Islamization of our free Western societies. In Europe we have made a terrible mistake. During the past decades, our politicians foolishly allowed millions of Islamic immigrants to settle within our borders. Everywhere the Islamic culture was welcomed as an enrichment. Nowhere the demand was made that the immigrants assimilate.

Not a single European leader had the guts to state the obvious and tell the truth: our Western culture based on Christianity, Judaism and Humanism, is far superior to the Islamic culture and immigrants have to adopt our values. And now, we in Europe are paying the price for this folly. Islam is eating away our Judeo-Christian and humanist civilization and replacing it with intolerance, hatred and violence. And our so-called leaders allow it.

25 years ago, the Berlin Wall fell and the Iron Curtain was dismantled. Thanks to President Ronald Reagan, America’s greatest and best President ever, the totalitarian ideology of Communism was defeated in Europe and my continent was liberated. But now another totalitarianism has nestled itself in the heart of Europe.

Last Summer, my home town, The Hague, witnessed scenes which brought back memories of the darkest period in our history, the Nazi era. Sympathizers of the Islamic State paraded in our streets. They carried swastikas, they carried the black flags of the Islamic State. They shouted “Death to the Jews” and “Oh Jews, the army of Mohammed is coming for you”. In the streets of The Hague in broad daylight. And instead of rounding up these hatemongers, the Dutch authorities did nothing.

Taqiyya and Kitman in Washington D.C.

As we reported yesterday, while an imam was saying a prayer on the floor of Congress, the Episcopal Church was hosting some imams from various Muslim Brotherhood front groups for a prayer service at the National Cathedral (now the National Masjid) in Washington D.C. The latter event was live-streamed, and Vlad Tepes captured the footage and uploaded it so that our Arabic translator ritamalik could evaluate it.

Ritamalik just wrote me back with this summary of what she noticed in the video. Here’s what she said:

Hi Baron,

I listened to the video! I must admit the amount of mush and nonsense and taqiyya was stomach-turning, but there was nothing really controversial in their Arabic prayers.

Most of the time they translated right away what they said into English, and although sometimes their Quranic quotations were a little bit creatively translated, shall we say (to give it more goody-good and New-Agey feel), they were OK enough translations to give the gist of what the verse said.

Some verses from Meccan Surahs were quoted, but quite a few Medinan verses were recited too, such as 3:26-27 which was recited and translated into English right afterwards by the ambassador during the khutbah, or sermon, which says:

Say, “O Allah , Owner of Sovereignty, You give sovereignty to whom You will and You take sovereignty away from whom You will. You honor whom You will and You humble whom You will. In Your hand is [all] good. Indeed, You are over all things competent. 26

“You cause the night to enter the day, and You cause the day to enter the night; and You bring the living out of the dead, and You bring the dead out of the living. And You give provision to whom You will without account.” 27

And during the Salah itself the Imam or prayer leader electively recited the first two or three verses of Surah 2:

Alif, Lam, Meem. 1 This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah — 2 Who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them,… 3

The rest was the standard Salah chants which are repeated ad nauseam, which of course have all the built-in insults to Christians and Jews in the mandatory recitation of Surah 1:7:

The Cameron Creature

“I’m not a scholar of any religion.” — David Cameron.[2]

Lee Rigby was a 25 year old drummer who served with the Second Fusiliers in the British Army in Cyprus, Germany and Afghanistan, where he was part of the Fire Support Group at Patrol Base Woqab. He was a young father and a lifelong supporter of Manchester United. On 22nd May 2013, he was murdered while walking along the street in London, the capital of Great Britain.[3]

Michael Adebolajo, one of the murderers, was caught red-handed by a passerby who filmed him on their mobile phone at the scene of the crime. Holding a dagger and a meat cleaver, Adebolajo stated clearly that he was following commands found in the Koran. He specifically cited surah at-taubah, the ninth surah of Islam’s foundational text.[4]

Following the brutal murder of a British soldier by two devout Muslims carrying meat cleavers and daggers, Cameron stood in front of the TV cameras, adopted a very stern face indeed, and asserted that there were no Islamic doctrines that justified such savagery. Then he flew off to Ibiza for a few days in the sun with the wife.[5]

In recent months we have witnessed the rise of Al Qaeda in Iraq, which has been re-branded as the Islamic State.[6] The atrocities committed by the Islamic State are almost beyond comprehension. In the face of savagery that can only be compared to the Nazi’s actions carried out in Eastern Europe during WWII, David Cameron has said that although he knows nothing about Islamic doctrines and practices, he believes that Islam is a religion of peace, because he once met a woman from Birmingham who happened to be a Muslim, and he liked the cut of her jib.[7]

What Cameron has done here is make an I proposition; where the subject term is Muslims and the predicate term is peaceful people, Cameron’s assertion is that Some S are P. That is the only proposition that his evidence supports. It can be shown using a Venn diagram (where x ≥ 1):

In logical terms, Cameron’s I proposition is quite different from the corresponding A proposition (All S are P), as we can see by looking at another Venn diagram (where the hash marks on the left indicate that a category is empty):

Clearly the two propositions are different. It is important to understand that Cameron’s evidence only supports the I proposition. And if an I proposition is true, it does not follow that the corresponding A proposition is true.

It is possible to see a marmalade cat walking along the street, and to say truthfully that at least one cat is a marmalade cat (Some S are P) but obviously, that is not the same thing as saying that all cats are marmalade cats, nor does it follow that all cats are marmalade cats (All S are P).

That is the logical error that Cameron wants you to make. However, the truth is that although some Muslims are peaceful, there are some who are violent, and there are some who may not be violent but who share the beliefs and goals of the Islamic State.[8] The new reality in Britain is that Muslims are being arrested every other day for planning to commit acts of terrorism. The political elite no longer mention the terrorist attacks of 7/7, but that did happen in our country. The wife of one of the terrorists who perpetrated that attack was wanted around the world after she entered her husband’s line of work (until the Russians allegedly shot her dead). And we all know that gangs of sexual predators have been raping thousands of young girls throughout England for years. Where the subject term is Muslims and the predicate term is peaceful people, it is obvious to anyone living in the real world that the O proposition (Some S are not P) is true:

Topless feminist activists for the group Femen were arrested in St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican today during a protest against the pope. The young ladies inserted crucifixes into their… ahem… nether orifices as part of their protest.

In other news, a jihad group in Sinai formerly known as Ansar Beit al Maqdis has declared allegiance to Caliph Abu Bakr al Baghdadi of the Islamic State and changed its name into “State of the Sinai belonging to Islamic State”.

On This Date in History…

The video below features the incomparable Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) explaining on the floor of Congress the significance of today’s Muslim prayer service in Washington D.C. at the edifice formerly known as the National Cathedral.

As Dr. Andrew Bostom pointed out, today is the 100th anniversary of the last jihad declared against infidels by the last Caliph, who was also the last Sultan of the Ottoman Empire.

The significance of the date is undoubtedly lost on most Americans, including the highly-cultured cognoscenti who administer the national organization of the Episcopal Church in the United States. But, as Rep. Gohmert emphasizes, the meaning of the date was most assuredly not lost on the leaders of the various leaders of Muslim Brotherhood groups who today converted the former cathedral into the Washington National Masjid:

Gasp! Obama Lied About Amnesty!

Obama lied. He lied over and over and over again just about this one subject.

After all his broken promises about that planned slaughter/induced poverty known as “The Affordable Care Act” — more accurately labeled ObamaCare though he hates the label (perhaps because it nails him), are you surprised to see The Serial Lying Campaign he mounted in order to get elected?

Aside from the inevitability of death and taxes, we now have the sure-as-shootin’ big, bad and smooth Liar-in-Chief.

Is this quirk of his pathological or is it simply a Saul Alinsky tactic? Hard to say, but one thing is for sure: his momma deliberately and with malice aforethought raised a Red Diaper Baby.

We Will NOT Comply! #2

During the recent election, Washington State voters approved a ballot initiative numbered I-594 that would restrict the rights of gun owners, requiring background checks in most cases whenever a gun changes hands. After the law takes effect, a citizen may not loan a gun to a friend without first performing a background check on him.

Before the election, Gavin Seim started a movement to resist I-594 through civil disobedience. The resistance among gun owners has snowballed since November 4:

Thousands of gun owners plan to gather on the grounds of the state capitol on December 13th and exchange guns with one another, in defiance of the new law.

According to the latest reports from sources in his administration, President Barack Obama is planning to take executive action that will grant amnesty to up to five million illegal aliens and allow them to become citizens. Mr. Obama is planning to use his pen and his phone — executive orders — to accomplish this historic task.

In other news, the al-Nusra Front and the Islamic State have reportedly signed a formal truce in Syria, and now plan to act in alliance against the Assad regime and Kurdish forces in northern Syria.

The Washington National Masjid

As many readers already know, Dymphna and I are Episcopalians. We are admittedly hanging onto the church by the thinnest of threads — mostly because we like our small local parish — but we are still canonical residents of our diocese, the ECUSA, and the Anglican Communion.

That’s why I almost didn’t post about tomorrow’s momentous event at the Washington National Cathedral. It gives me the creeps. It causes me to despair for my church, and for Christendom in general. And it makes me deeply, deeply angry.

The administrative leaders of the Episcopal Church obviously have no idea what it means to allow their building to be used a place where formal Islamic prayers take place. Or maybe they do, and they don’t mind. In any case, once Muslims have said their prayers as an assembled group, the structure becomes a masjid, a mosque, and the property of the waqf board, the Islamic trust for the Ummah. The local Islamic community may decide to defer taking formal title to the building until their numbers in the Washington area are sufficient to make it prudent to do so, but after tomorrow, the National Cathedral will have become a mosque.

And not just any old mosque, but one with full connectivity to the Muslim Brotherhood. Here’s what the Center for Security Policy said about the whole sordid affair in a press release from earlier today:

Americans of Conscience Urge Cancellation of Jihadist Day at the National Cathedral

(Washington, D.C.): On the eve of the 100th anniversary of the start of one of history’s most horrific acts of genocide, a group of prominent figures in the religious, national security and human rights communities have written a letter to the leadership of Washington’s National Cathedral. They urged the Cathedral not to allow a group of Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated organizations to utilize its house of worship on November 14th, 2014 for a prayer service that will inevitably — given the nature of the sponsors, their traditional service and the occasion — be a highly symbolic demonstration of Islamic supremacism.

The group’s letter notes:

November 14th, 2014, will be the 100th anniversary of the last sitting Caliph of the Ottoman Empire’s call for jihad against non-believers. The call for violent jihad against non-believers directly resulted in a genocide against the Armenian, Assyrian and Greek residents of Turkey. And while for most westerners the November 14th Jihad declaration is little more than a footnote in the annals of World War I, for Islamic supremacists like those associated with Muslim Brotherhood, it is a date pregnant with meaning. To permit such a public display, and permit such groups to occupy the National Cathedral of the United States on this date represents an affront to the memories of those who were killed as a result of this genocide, and an affront to those Christians across the Middle East who are currently under threat by those who seek to emulate it.

Among the signatories of the letter, which was organized by the Center for Security Policy were:

  • Lieutenant General William G. Boykin, Former Deputy Under Secretary of Defense
  • Dr. Ron Crew CH (COL) USAR, (Ret.), Executive Director, Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty
  • Pastor Jim Garlow, Senior Pastor, Skyline Church
  • Reverend Dan Cummins, Founder, Come Pray with Me
  • Pastor Paul Blair, Fairview Baptist Church

The group offered to meet with the leadership of the National Cathedral and to provide additional evidence regarding how the groups involved in the November 14th event have ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. The signatories called to mind that, as proven in federal court, the stated goal of the Brotherhood in America is to “destroy Western civilization from within.”

The letter also notes how the Muslim Brotherhood has “…repeatedly targeted Middle Eastern Christians,” including “bombing places of worship” as well as attacking “fellow Muslims who do not meet the Brotherhood’s strict Shariah standards.” Such atrocities and other acts of violent jihad are not things of the past; they are happening currently.

Center for Security Policy President Frank Gaffney observed:

The National Cathedral was recently rocked by an unusual earthquake, causing millions of dollars in damage to its exquisite structure. The act of opening its doors to top members and front groups of the Muslim Brotherhood — an organization that epitomizes and practices the worst of Islam’s intolerant Shariah code — on a day that will always be associated with genocidal jihadism should rock the conscience of every member of the Cathedral’s community. If this outrageous event is not cancelled, the damage that will assuredly be caused to the reputation of the institution’s leadership and, by association, the Cathedral itself will likely be far more severe and difficult to repair than any caused by the tremor.

National Cathedral to host first Muslim prayer

WASHINGTON — Washington National Cathedral is hosting a Muslim prayer service for the first time on Friday.

Planners say they hope Friday’s service at the historic cathedral will foster more understanding and acceptance between Christians and Muslims around the world.

The prominent Episcopal cathedral often hosts national events, such as presidential funerals, and has hosted Muslims at various interfaith services in the past. But planners say this is the first time the cathedral has invited Muslims to lead their own prayers there, which they call a “powerful symbolic gesture.”

Planners say the prayer service developed after the cathedral’s liturgical director met South African Ambassador Ebrahim Rasool while planning the national memorial service for Nelson Mandela.

In a statement, Rasool says, “This is a dramatic moment in the world and in Muslim-Christian relations.”
