Liberia attempted to contain its Ebola outbreak by quarantining West Point, a slum neighborhood of Monrovia. Soldiers guarding the barbed-wire fence surrounding the quarantined area used live ammunition against local residents who attacked them in an attempt to escape.

The Islamic Jihad Conquest Formula
I read Western Rifle Shooters Association every day, but their mission and ours rarely overlap, so I don’t quote them very often.
Today, however, Matthew Bracken has written an excellent essay entitled “The Islamic Jihad Conquest Formula”. Some excerpts are below:
Mohammed’s unchanging formula for conquest is time-proven; variations were also used in history by the invading Mongol hordes among others. Emissaries ride forward of their advancing armies, offering to spare the lives of the targeted population in return for their unconditional surrender and explicit submission to their new rulers. In the Islamic context this submission is exemplified by the fresh converts repeating the Shahada prayer before Muslim witnesses.
There is no god but Allah, and Mohammed is his messenger.
The Shahada prayer is the first of the Five Pillars of Islam. The Shahada prayer is also what is written on the black battle flags of Islamic jihad. Along with Allahu Akbar — our God is greatest — the Shahada is the battle cry of advancing Islamic armies. In fact, the very word Islam means submission, and not peace, as it is often intentionally mistranslated by duplicitous Muslims practicing taqiya, or sanctified lying for the cause of advancing the spread of Islam.
It’s purposefully made very easy for a town or a city to submit and convert to Islam. But the entire city must surrender without posing any resistance at all. In the event of any violent or even physical resistance, a new formula applies: the Islamic jihad conquest formula. From the time of Mohammed until today — as we are seeing in the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq — the formula has not changed.
1. During the battle and immediately afterward, there is a period of unbelievable savagery and wanton hyper-violence.
Any of the defeated population from infants to grandmothers may be subjected to the most extreme cruelty, including beheading with knives or swords, crucifixion, being burned or buried alive, or thrown down wells or off cliffs or high walls. During this period, women, girls and boys are routinely gang-raped by frenzied jihadists, to the point that survivors almost always suffer lifelong crippling internal and external injuries. Suicide among the survivors of these savage gang rapes is common. The Christian and Zahidi girls and boys in Northern Iraq are only the most recent victims of this traditional Muslim depraved cruelty.
Those who survive until the victorious jihadists have consolidated their hold and sated their blood-lusts are the fortunate ones. They may have caught a potential protector’s eye, or hidden themselves until the jihadists’ most bloodthirsty passions have subsided. No jihadists will ever be called to account by Muslim jihad leaders for their atrocities committed during the battle and victory consolidation phase.
For the first time in history, today we are seeing what the previous millions of victims of Muslim conquests have experienced for 1,400 years. The recent beheadings and crucifixions in Syria and Iraq are not new or novel. What is new and novel is that today these Muslim jihad atrocities are being filmed and transmitted for the purpose of spreading the propaganda of Islamic State terror, to encourage their next intended targets to submit and surrender without resistance.
2. Captured men will be beheaded, shot or enslaved.
Our Love Affair with the Ikhwan
Some interesting points came up in the comment thread on last night’s post about ISIS. A couple of issues raised by our commenters merit further discussion.
First, the questions posed by maninthepub:
What made you make that assumption [that the Ikhwan has compromised government decision-making]? How could the Muslim Brotherhood exercise such control? Who benefits other than the Muslim Brotherhood?
I’ll tackle these questions in reverse order.
Depending on the exact policies that are formulated, a lot of different interests other than the MB could well benefit. For example: the trans-national oil companies, or the munitions industry. It depends on who needs to sell oil at what price. Or who wants to buy weapons, and who’d like to sell them.
It’s well-known that the Muslim Brotherhood has highly-placed agents in the Pentagon, State, the CIA, the White House, etc. This is not classified information. It’s on the public record, if you’re willing to dig into the organizations these men and women belong to, and follow the trail back to the Ikhwan. Steve Emerson’s site is a good place to start.
The number of these culturally enriched “advisors” increased exponentially after 9/11. Suddenly, after those nineteen misinterpreters of the Koran brought down the Twin Towers and redecorated the Pentagon, the military and the executive needed much more information about Islam. So who better to provide it than these pleasant, urbane, cultivated Muslims who just happened to be hanging around Washington D.C. already, relaxing in their plush executive suites?
The Ikhwan teaches its Western operatives to be “the nicest person in the room”, and that’s the way these people are. Just compare them with the profane, sweaty, irate, shouting “Islamophobes” — who would you believe?
The Muslim Brotherhood has no need to exert control as such — influence is sufficient. Like their Communist predecessors, if they place their agents shrewdly and wait patiently, eventually the moment will arrive when a crucial policy decision can be nudged in the right direction. Less than eight years after 9/11 the words “Islam” and “jihad” disappeared from all federal government training manuals on terrorism and “extremism”. How likely is it the pointy-heads at the FBI and the Pentagon thought that one up all on their own?
Also worth mentioning is the Independent’s discussion of the current mess as if it were primarily the creation of the Obama administration.
It’s important not to focus too much on the current occupant of the White House when examining the origins of the present mess. Barack Obama made everything much worse, of course, but today’s policies were firmly in place long before Mr. Obama first put his feet up on the Oval Office desk. They predate George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and possibly even George H.W. Bush.
One might say that the love affair with the mujahideen began during the Reagan administration, when the CIA provided arms, logistical assistance, and training to no fewer than seven jihad groups fighting the Soviets in Afghanistan. That enterprise turned out so well — what with the USS Cole and Osama bin Laden and all — that they decided for a reprise in the 21st century in Mesopotamia. Why abandon a proven strategy?

A second man was shot dead today by police in St. Louis just a short distance from where an unarmed teenager was killed more than a week ago. The new casualty, however, was armed with a knife — he had been brandishing it at a policeman, and refused to drop it, telling the cop to “kill me now”. The policeman granted his wish.
Meanwhile, the Egyptian government urged the American authorities to show restraint in their response to the ongoing violence in Ferguson.
In other news, possible cases of Ebola have been reported at a job center in Berlin and in the Basque region of Spain.

The Monster has Escaped the Laboratory
Satan has been unleashed in the world.
Or, if you are an atheist or secular and uncomfortable with theological imagery: Dr. Frankenstein’s monster has escaped the laboratory and is rampaging across the landscape.
The most recent atrocities committed by the Islamic State — notably, the beheading of an American journalist by an ISIS mujahid on video, as a warning to President Obama (see Fox News, CNN, and the Mail Online) — demonstrate that something unprecedented is at work in the Middle East. Not since the defeat of the Ottoman army in 1683 has barbarity of this magnitude gone unchecked in the region.
Actually, you’d have to go back farther than 1683, or even 1453, to find comparable events. During its entire suzerainty over Mesopotamia, the Ottoman Empire did not engage in the systematic demolition of Shiite mosques. But that is exactly what ISIS is doing, even as it massacres and enslaves Christians and Yezidis.
This is a moment of enormous historical import. The proclamation of a Caliphate by the Islamic State has electrified Islamic zealots all over the world, which is why the black flag of jihad is appearing now in so many places. ISIS is saying to the Ummah: “We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.” And getting an enthusiastic response, based on all the demonstrators who have taken to the “Muslim street”.
The process that has now reached its maturity in Syria and Iraq began in earnest more than three years ago, when a Tunisian street vendor immolated himself and initiated what eventually became known as the “Arab Spring”. It became obvious fairly quickly that this was a moment that both the Muslim Brotherhood and the Western intelligence services had been waiting for. Assets that had been kept ready were set into motion, and long-standing plans were systematically implemented in the months that followed.
Much of the analysis below is pure speculation, but it is based on factual material. It is an attempt to fit the known facts into a plausible general framework that would help explain them. I don’t have the time (nor will my eyes hold up long enough) to find links to all the relevant material; readers are advised to hit the search engines to find corroborating material.

For several years I’ve been assuming that the Central Intelligence Agency — along with various other parts of the Executive Branch of the American government — has been thoroughly co-opted by agents of the Muslim Brotherhood. The heart of Al-Ikhwan al-Muslimeen is in Qatar, and not Egypt, as many people believe. The analysis below refers to “CIA/Qatar” when describing this convergent nexus of the American intelligence establishment and MB notables in Qatar and elsewhere.
Back in the fall of 2012 I devised a theory about what happened in Benghazi on September 11 of that year, based on reading various sources — not all of them totally paranoid. Since then, everything I put together in those days has been borne out by later revelations. I’ve posted about this before, but here is a general outline of what I consider the likely process behind what happened that night:
| 1. | The Innocence of Muslims was produced by a man who had turned state’s evidence for the Feds, in return for a sentence of probation for his fraud conviction. | |
| 2. | He was ordered to make that video (and probably supplied with the money for it) and told to make it look like Jews were involved. He had no idea he was to be exposed and locked up after his video had served its purpose. | |
| 3. | The CIA/Qatar team arranged to subtitle the video in Arabic and release it in the Egyptian media just before September 11, 2012. | |
| 4. | When the demo in Cairo started, it was originally on behalf of the Blind Sheikh. It later morphed into an attack on the embassy in outrage over the blasphemous video. | |
| 5. | The attack on the consulate in Benghazi was also supposed to be blamed on the video. The Al Qaeda groups that had been paid off to do it were supposed to kidnap Ambassador Stevens. The plan was that after tough negotiations, he would later be released in exchange for the Blind Sheikh, who would return to Egypt in triumph. This was all designed to satisfy the Muslim Brotherhood and the Jihad Masters in Qatar. | |
| 6. | The Al Qaeda groups in Benghazi had been recruited to collect the various weapons that we had supplied them to take down Qaddafi with. They were paid to turn them over to the CIA so that they could be shipped to Syria, where we were planning a scenario like the one that had just finished up in Libya. | |
| 7. | However, the whole thing went to pieces, because Iranian intelligence had infiltrated the Al Qaeda groups (they have infiltrated everything in that part of the world, with the help of the Russians) and had outbid the CIA. They contracted with the jihadis to kill the ambassador, and thus throw a monkey wrench into US plans against Syria, which is an Iranian client state. |
The rest is familiar to most readers.
This account may or may not be true, but it does fit Occam’s Razor — it is the simplest explanation available that uses what we know to be true about the U.S. government and the players in the region. The only assumption I have had to make is that the Muslim Brotherhood has totally compromised decision-making in the administration and at the CIA. And that seems more and more of a fact these days, and less and less an assumption.
The cover-up (which began immediately early on September 12, 2012) was simply the reflex reaction you’d expect to hide what agents of our government had been up to vis-à-vis Syria.

As mentioned in last night’s news feed, a combination of U.S. air strikes and Kurdish Peshmerga fighters forced the mujahideen of ISIS to relinquish control of the Mosul Dam. However, when they departed, the jihadis left behind booby traps and mines, so that the Kurds were unable to gain access to the dam’s water pumps. Nevertheless, President Obama announced tonight that Iraqi forces now control the dam.
In other news, without consulting the White House, Governor Jay Nixon of Missouri ordered the National Guard deployed to restore order to the riot-torn city of Ferguson.

Eyewash
I returned a little while ago from a visit to the retinal specialist, and the news about my eye remains good. The doctor says my condition (wet macular degeneration) has stabilized, and I don’t have to get any more injections into my eyeball for the time being. Absent any symptoms of new vascular growth, I just have to go in every two months so that he can, well, eyeball me.
This is welcome news, and not just because I no longer have to endure the needle: a standard scan and a quick checkup are significantly less expensive. So things are looking up.
Since dilated pupils were the only aftereffect of today’s ordeal, I took the opportunity to do major grocery-shopping while I was in town, which kept me out late. That’s why posting has been light. Actually, if you exclude Dymphna’s work, it has been non-existent.
There will be a news feed in a little while, however. And normal programming will resume tomorrow.

As home-schooling parents we were fortunate: we got to choose the future Baron’s reading. But after our initial introduction, he proved the point that left to their own devices children will often choose things you would consider “too advanced” for them. For example, the fB found a book on the World War I poets in one of our bookcases and he soon had much of it memorized. Obviously, he was intelligent, but no more so than his friends. Many of those friends — e.g., Cub Scout troop members — went to the local school and the last thing in the world they wanted was to have to read something.
Muzzled in the Rhineland
Last week we posted a translation of an “Islamophobic” essay by Frank Meyer that had originally been published at the Swiss site Blick.ch.
A newspaper in the Rhineland called the Rheinische Post subsequently republished Mr. Meyer’s essay. Since then, however, the piece has been taken down from RP’s website.

No doubt Mazyek* and Co. have put really heavy pressure on the editorial staff! The guest editorial by Frank A. Meyer, “Islam is a Totalitarian Religion”, which appeared originally in the Swiss illustrated newsmagazine BLICK on August 2nd and was mentioned in PI, was removed from the Post in an act of self-censorship. Meanwhile, on August 15th, the Post squeezed in, as an afterthought, a positive story on the civilizational contributions of the Muslim world (“Without the Open-Minded Islam of the Middle Ages, the Heritage of the Classical Era Would Have Disappeared”). N.B., the more obvious the contradiction between “peaceful” Islam and its totalitarian reality becomes, the more desperate are the deceptive maneuvers of the mass media.

The Final Death of Western Civilization
Last week in the Austrian daily Die Presse Michael Ley about the new anti-Semitism and the role of the Left in the Islamization of Europe. JLH, who has kindly translated the piece, includes this note:
The Muslims’ faithful reprise of Mohammed’s original temper tantrum at the Jews makes Sicilian vendettas and Appalachian feuds look like cocktail party spats. Modern leftist Jew-hatred, on the other hand, is an echo of the age-old search for a scapegoat — any scapegoat — guided by the Alinskyite technique of identify, isolate, destroy, but older than socialism and its acolytes. Just think Fiddler on the Roof.
This is a very effective picture of how and why Islam and Leftism suit each other so well, and how they are bound by anti-Semitism. The example of wheat happened to the Left after Khomeini at least offers some ironic feeling of poetic justice.

Anti-Semites like to compare Jews, Zionists and Israelis to Adolf Hitler. Recently, Prime Minister Erdogan of Turkey certified that the Israelis are worse than Hitler. “What Israel is doing to Palestine and Gaza is beyond what Hitler did to the Jews.” In the Arab world, this equivalence has the status of legend. It was not only Yasser Arafat who made use of this smear. It is a part of Arab identity. This extreme hatred of Jews has long since spilled over into European societies and spread quickly through the Muslim parallel societies. The image of the radical rightist anti-Semite is overdue to be augmented by the Muslim Jew-hater. The French political scientist Pierre-André Taguieff determined years ago: “The originators of violence against Jews are no longer mostly from the extreme right. They are recruiting above all among young immigrants, especially from the Maghreb*.” Hatred of Jews is a part of their cultural identity.
For several years sociologists have been confirming a “new anti-Semitism” which is above all else a Muslim anti-Judaism. The contemporary violent excesses and Jew-hostile slogans of the Muslim mob are energetically supported by many from the Left and are also sympathetically received by leftist media personnel. In the leftist daily taz the editor Stefan Reinicke recently wrote: “In a free country, it must be possible to question Israel’s right to exist.” From there to questioning the right of Jews in general to exist is a shorter step.
Hostility to Jews is nothing new among Muslims or leftists — it is as old as socialism or Islam.
Islam exhibits an extreme anti-Judaism. The Koran is permeated by Jew-hostile stereotypes overlapping with those of Christians. The Jews have the hardened hearts of the uncircumcised; they have broken the bond with God and killed the prophets; they lie and have falsified God’s word; they do not honor treaties; they are usurers; they steal money; they do not believe in the afterlife. The Jews appear in the Koran as evil characters. Thus the battle cry: “Fight against them until they are humiliated and pay the tax.” (9:29) The Koran portrays Jews as not only warmongers guilty of every misdeed on earth, but also curses them as “apes and pigs” and assigns them the lowest, subhuman rank: “And you have surely known those among you who broke the Sabbath. Then we said to them: ‘Be outcast pigs and apes!’’ (Surah 2:56) Because the Jews did not recognize Allah, they were dehumanized and became as animals: “Say this: ‘Shall I teach you of those whose penalty from Allah is even worse than that? They are those who have cursed Allah and whom he has scorned and made into apes, pigs and idolaters. They are in an even worse situation and have wandered still further from the right path.’” (Surah 5:60) This motif occurs again and again.
Islam’s end-times prophecy sees the annihilation of the Jews. The pertinent Hadith says: “In the final hour, Muslims will fight against Jews. Since Jews belong to the army of Satan and Muslims are the soldiers of the Prophet Jesus, they will fight against each other, and the Muslims will be victorious until every stone and tree will say: ‘Come here, Muslim. A Jew is hiding behind me. Kill him.” But Islamic anti-Judaism is only the tip of the iceberg in the battle against the infidels.

Violence flared up again in Ferguson, Missouri during continuing protests over the death of an unarmed teenager who was shot by police. The governor declared a state of emergency and imposed a curfew in the city.
In other news, in an op-ed for the Telegraph, Prime Minister David Cameron wrote that the Islamic State poses a deadly threat that Britain must confront and defeat. Meanwhile, ISIS reportedly massacred 80 Yezidis in a village in northern Iraq as well as 700 tribesmen in eastern Syria.

The Italian Revival
