Bodyguards for Silvia Sardone

Silvia Sardone is an Italian member of the European Parliament. Formerly of Forza Italia (Silvio Berlusconi’s party), she now represents the Lega. Her outspoken opinions on immigration and Islamization have been featured several times previously in this space.

Ms. Sardone’s expressed opinions make her the target of repeated death threats, which have recently increased in frequency, so that she now travels with a bodyguard when in public.

“I will continue to be free”

Sardone under escort due to threats from Islamists

by Francesca Galici
October 23, 2023

The climate of tension in our country is palpable, and the escalation in the Middle East war has recently exacerbated the tensions. The consequences can be very grave, and it is for this that the anti-terrorism system is on alert. As the ministers have explained several times, at the moment, there are no specific threats in our country, but the risk that there exist lone wolves ready to strike sensitive and symbolic targets is very high. Among the targets, there are prominent political personalities, especially those who expose themselves by countering the spread of violent and supremacist Islam. Among these, Silvia Sardone stands out, whose vulnerability increases considering the fact she is a member of the European Parliament and often travels between Brussels and Strasbourg.

She receives threats daily, many of these from people in the Muslim world residing in Italy. Particularly worrisome are those death threats directed at herself, but also at her two children, especially in a historical moment such as this one. For this reason, considering the strong risk she is exposed to, now Silvia Sardone has been provided with an escort. “Obviously, for these extremists, it is particularly bothersome that it is a liberated woman expressing certain ideas, not oppressed and silent as many of them would like,” explains the Euro-Parliamentarian in a note. The Lega representative is often at the barricades and has no fear of expressing her positions on the Islamic veil, the Islamization of Europe, and illegal mosques.

“I have also recently reported the new death threats sent to me on social media and in the mail to the competent agencies. Notwithstanding the obvious worry in my family, I will continue to express my opinions freely; I will not back off of our values, which are put in danger from extremism,” she declared, making it clear that the threats will not force her to self-censure, that it will not happen. “I firmly believe that in Europe, and also in Italy, there are dangers of radicalism and of a growing Islamization of our cities: In the face of an Islamism that is gaining strength, it is worrying that there is weak behavior, in particular, on the part of European institutions, which respond with do-goodism and political correctness,” she added, stressing the right of defense of local traditions at the expense of substitution. For that reason, she concludes, “it is important to be present at the Lega demonstration Saturday, November 4 in Milan where we will be there to reiterate the values of liberty and democracy in the fight against terrorism, anti-Semitism, and Islamist fanaticism.”

Open Warfare at the Hungarian Border

The following report describes the situation on Hungary’s southern border, which has descended into open warfare involving automatic weapons.

Many thanks to Gary Fouse for translating this article from the conservative Austrian site Unzensuriert:

Migrants shoot their way out with automatic weapons — already 168 injured

September 27, 2023

The violence of asylum-seekers streaming into Europe is becoming more and more brutal. As Hungary’s prime minister, Viktor Orbán, reported today, Tuesday, in Parliament, over the past few nights migrants have shot at Hungarian border agents with automatic weapons. 168 border guards have already been injured, some seriously, on the southern border of the country, said Orbán, who noted that the illegals “had crossed the Rubicon.”

As Express reports, there were already similar incidents in June on the border with Serbia. Here there were also shootouts with border guards — where the migrants reportedly were wearing combat clothing.

Hungary wants to protect border with civilians

Despite the excess violence on the border, Hungary’s migration policy is successful. Just in this year, almost 130,000 illegal border crossings have reportedly been prevented. The Hungarian government also plans to use civilian forces against the illegal migrants in the future.

Orbán: Lampedusa asylum-seekers are an “invasion army”

The already catastrophic situation is unlikely to be defused in the near future, after all, tens of thousands more asylum-migrants, mostly young and male, want to come to Europe. Orbán himself described the illegals, who are arriving in droves to the Italian Mediterranean island of Lampedusa, as an “invasion army”.

EU wants to make Hungary a “migrant country”

The Fidesz politician declared that the “Brussels Migration Pact” had failed: The EU had abused its power and wanted to use force to turn Hungary into a “migrant country”, he posted on X (formerly Twitter) in July.

Damien Rieu is a “right-wing extremist” in France who has been active for the past ten years in Génération Identitaire — which was banned by the Ministry of the Interior in 2021 — and other identitarian groups. The first video is a brief interview conducted by the online German news portal Nius that was posted by Mr. Rieu on his Twitter account:

Menton is a French city on the Mediterranean coast just inside the border with Italy, while Ventimiglia is an Italian city on the other side of the border. Both cities are choked with migrants who land at Lampedusa and other Italian ports and make their way overland in an attempt to reach France.

The second video, which was also posted on Damien Rieu’s Twitter account, features conversations with migrants and natives in Menton and Ventimiglia about the cultural enrichment of both cities. Some of the exchanges were recorded using hidden cameras:

What About Viktor Orbán?

Long-time readers will remember our Hungarian correspondent CrossWare, who has translated large numbers of Hungarian-language videos and articles, including many speeches by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. Long-time readers will also remember the dismay experienced by many people — including our Hungarian correspondents — when Mr. Orbán jumped aboard the COVID bandwagon, and then pushed vax mandates on Hungarian citizens.

The following reassessment of Viktor Orbán was written by CrossWare and published earlier today at Vlad Tepes in a slightly different form.

What about Viktor Orbán?

Thoughts by CrossWare

First of all, what is the connection between the Prime Minister of Hungary and myself?

We were both born and raised in the very same country town, both went to high school there (different ones) and Orbán is one year older than me. But we both grew up in the last period of socialism, so we are both a product of the same era. He went to law school after high school; I went for a BA in Engineering. So even though we ended up in very different places, our beginnings were pretty close to each other.

When socialism ended in 1989, I did not really care much about politics. However I followed his media presence, because he came from the same town as me. Fidesz was an insignificant liberal party at the time, with exactly the same type of message as all the other liberal parties in the world. That was the time when Gorge Soros (a.k.a. Schwartz) “helped” all these liberal parties against the dying socialist/communist powers. In 1998 the Fidesz party won the election (that was the year when I left Hungary and emigrated to Canada) and after just a single term, they were defeated by the communists and their latest liberal party partner the SZDSZ (Federation of Free Democrats). The voting process was suspiciously similar to the later 2020 USA election; the voting papers were destroyed before recount could be requested (against the rules), and Hungary faced eight years of the same type of system that the USA now lives under with Joe Biden.

Viktor Orbán and Fidesz regained power in 2010, and now he is the Prime Minister of Hungary for the fourth time with a two-thirds super-majority. (There are no term limits in Hungary.)

I started focusing on politics again and OV’s role in it when the great migration started in 2015 and he had such a remarkable staunch view on it. That is when I started to translate videos of his speeches for both Gates of Vienna and VladTepesBlog. In 2017, I had to move back to Hungary to help my aging parents and my sister, who suffered some losses and chronic diseases in her life.

That was the point when I started to face reality, which was not always in sync with what Orbán spoke about in his speeches.

In his early years, Viktor Orbán was confronted by a journalist about some difference between what he said and what he did, his answer was eye-opening (at least for me):

“Never listen to what I am saying, only what I am doing” — Viktor Orbán

Well, herein lies the problem…

Living in Hungary opened up for me various sources of information, which contradicted the rosy picture suggested by Orbán’s speeches. Also, I watch all politicians with suspicion, looking for alternate motives for their behaviour. (This could be my personal issue with this “profession”.)

Let’s review all the issues based on some groupings of mine:

His personality, leadership:

I think Viktor Orbán is a highly intelligent, talented politician. Without his knowledge and diligence, Fidesz as a party could have never become so organized and ready to lead. He has a typical type A personality, which makes him a strong, charismatic leader. But it comes with all the negative side of such personality: controlling, aggressive and looking at team members as potential risk to his own power. Orbán successfully eliminated most of the potential talent for leadership in his environment, which means that when he is no longer able to lead Fidesz, the party will face a crisis finding a similar talent to continue to lead.

Economy:

In 2010 the new Orbán government announced a new “movement”, which they called the NER (National Cooperation System). The idea behind it was to strengthen Hungarian-owned companies in all sectors of the economy and with that decrease our dependence on foreign companies, which many times followed their owners’ economic and political agendas. The point was to try to recreate layers of Hungarian owners, rich people who can support national causes. This societal layer was completely eliminated in the communist era. This idea worked completely in theory, but only partially in practice. As with any successful political movement, the hyenas showed up and slowly they built into the system. I have heard multiple rumours about occasions when a successful small business owner receives a visit from a representative from a large NER company, who has “excellent political connections” and makes an offer to buy the business. This is the type of offer which nobody can refuse, because the next day the tax office people arrive, and because of the overcomplicated tax system (which Fidesz, after twelve years of rule, could not fix or never wanted to fix), everyone may be found guilty of breaking some of the rules. So, mafia behaviour is rampantly present in the system, and it does not seem like there is any political will to fix the issues.

A Real Smear Job

At a recent event in Rhineland-Palatinate, Beatrix von Storch, the Deputy Leader of the AfD (Alternative für Deutschland, Alternative for Germany) was smeared with excrement (some reports say it was dog-doo) in a surprise attack by a leftist pretending to be a fan who wanted to take a selfie with her.

Below are two videos about the incident. The first clip features a brief segment recorded at the event, which shows the actual attack against Ms. Von Storch. It’s not mentioned in any of the coverage about the incident that I’ve seen so far, but it appears that the spirited AfD leader grabbed a lump of the poo and flung it back at the perpetrator.

Flemish Lives Matter

“Our people are not cattle to be slaughtered by the multi-culties #VLTO Flemish lives also matter”

Violence against Flemish people — that is, Belgian citizens whose native language is Dutch — has become so pervasive and frequent, and sometimes fatal, that it has sparked an indigenous protest movement in Flanders.

Many thanks to Gary Fouse for translating this article from ReactNieuws:

Wave of foreigner attacks on Flemish citizens

August 17, 2023

Flanders finds itself under a wave of brutal foreigner attacks against Flemish people. Almost every day there are new testimonies from Flemish people who have been attacked, humiliated, beaten, and even murdered by foreigners. A small overview, just from the month of August.

Jawbone shattered in Denderleeuw

Attention was first drawn by the attack on David (47) in Denderleeuw. After an argument with a foreign bicyclist who was riding on the sidewalk, he was later cowardly attacked and excessively beaten: his jawbone was broken, nose broken, and teeth smashed.

Murder in Ninove

Immediately afterward, a Flemish citizen was murdered in Ninove. After an argument at the exit of the Carrefour [supermarket] on August 4, a foreigner, Nico de Groot (46), attacked with merciless violence. The Flemish citizen unexpectedly received an enormous blow on the throat, fell back, and was left in a coma. He later died from his wounds.

Murder attempt against Flemish woman in Ninove

On 7 August an 89-year-old Flemish woman was brutally attacked by an 18-year-old Moroccan on the Armand de Riemaeckerstraat in the center of Ninove. The elderly Flemish lady was mercilessly thrown to the ground and received life-threatening injuries.

Afghan stabs 15-year-old in Blankenberge

On 8 August, a 27-year-old Afghan attacked a 15-year-old boy. He stabbed him several times in the back. After the aggressive criminal also attacked the police, he was shot but only slightly wounded.

Protest actions: Flemish lives also matter — #VLTO

After these attacks by foreigners against Flemish people, there was a protest for the first time under the slogan: “Flemish lives also matter”. On the initiative of Project Thule and United 93, 150 angry Flemish people gathered on 15 August in Denderleeuw and demanded that anti-Flemish violence come to an end. “This is not senseless violence: There is a clear pattern of targeted violence by foreigners against Flemish people. The driving force is anti-white racism, encouraged by the press and by a lax government.”

It was announced that there will be more protests on the street in the event of more attacks upon Flemish people, and it looks like the wave will continue.

A Cordon Sanitaire Around VOX

Spaniards went to the polls last month to vote in a general election, and failed to give a clear mandate to either the Right or the Left. Prior to the vote, opinion polls indicated that the two major right-wing parties (Partido Popular and VOX) would do well enough to be able to form a government, but in the end the vote was much closer, with neither bloc having a clear majority.

The mainstream parties considered it of utmost importance to keep VOX out of the government, so they formed a cordon sanitaire around the “right-wing extremists”, in much the same way the PVV is kept out of the government in the Netherlands, or Vlaams Belang in Belgium.

The following video shows the announcement of the formation of the new government, which was made possible by the participation of the Catalonian party. The speaker turns the occasion into a celebration of multiculturalism, Spanish style, by repeating the word “speaking” in four different languages — Castilian, Galician, Basque, and Catalan. It may well be that the next time something similar happens, the new government will have to add Arabic and Swahili to its litany of linguistic diversity.

Spain: VOX Frozen Out, as Catalan Support Secures Socialist Majority in Parliament

Spain increasingly looks set for a razor-thin coalition of the Left and regional separatists. Catalan nationalists have lent their support to socialist PM Pedro Sánchez and his PSOE party, as the Spanish Parliament reconvened Thursday, August 17th, three weeks after indecisive elections.

Support from the Catalan separatist parties, Junts, and the Republican Left of Catalonia (ERC), was sufficient to secure the investiture of PSOE MP Francina Armengol as speaker of Parliament, with 178 out of 350 votes, while the Spanish Congress of Deputies assembled for the first time after July’s election also on August 17th.

The election of Armengol bodes well for Sánchez. It is now possible for him to cobble together a coalition deal with separatists and the communist Sumar party and return to power.

The Last Warning

Many thanks to Gary Fouse for translating this article from Résistance Républicaine (re-posted from Le Dialogue):

Riots in France: It’s the last warning

by Christine Tasin
July 23, 2023

Below is a new contribution from Driss Ghali, whom we regularly re-post in our columns. Born in Morocco to Muslim parents, he regularly denounces Western naïveté about Islam, whether on the part of the Americans or the French.

Driss Ghali,

The urban riots following the death of the young Nahel probably constitute the last warning before the rupture of civil peace in France. A rupture that can take the form of civil war or an outright and clear separation between the territories in the hands of France and others under the influence of communities of foreign origin.

Police stations and Gendarme barracks attacked, city halls set on fire, the particular residence of a mayor attacked in the middle of the night, so many insurrectionist acts, for which only a leader, an organization, and a manifesto are missing.

The thugs who terrorized France for a week have neither leader nor organization. But they have a claim, in the absence of a manifest on glossy paper: They cry their hatred for France. They attack its symbols with a relentlessness that underlines their primary motivation: To say to France that they are not French and they will never become French.

If there is a single lesson to be learned from the traumatic episode that just happened, it is that assimilation has not worked. The overturned vehicles and the broken windows cry out the absolute failure of a “Republican dream”, which consisted of making millions of Arabs and Africans into French in one or two generations. As if by “spontaneous generation”.

This failure is a narcissistic wound for France on two levels. She is no longer seductive, or seductive enough, to convert foreigners to her civilization. She is no longer able to understand human nature because she has seen in immigrants bodies and not souls. The bodies may be subjected to work or even seduced by social benefits, but the soul, she doesn’t want to hear about symbols and spirituality. France today is unfortunately a land devastated on the symbolic and spiritual level: the factories of symbols that were the churches are deserted, and nobody believes in anything anymore.

Don’t Romanticize Volodomyr Zelensky

Karl-Olov Arnstberg is a Swedish writer, ethnologist, and retired university professor. His essays are posted at his blog, Invandring och mörkläggning. Below is today’s installment of his “Sunday Chronicle”. Many thanks to our Swedish correspondent LN for the translation:

Sunday chronicle: Don’t romanticize Volodomyr Zelensky!

July 16, 2023

Swedish Wikipedia has a long and excellent factual article on Zelensky. There you learn, among other things, that he was born in 1978 as the only child of Ashkenazi Jewish parents in the then “Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic”. His father is a university professor and computer engineer. His mother is also an engineer. For twenty years Zelensky has been married to his schoolmate Olena. They have two children whom he has not seen, for security reasons, since the Russian invasion began in February 2022. Zelensky has a law degree but has never worked as a lawyer, opting instead for a career as a comedian and actor. In 2003 he founded the production company Kvartal 95, which produces films, TV series and cartoons. From 2015 to 2019 he played the lead role of the President of Ukraine in his company’s TV series “Servant of the People”. In 2018 his colleagues formed a political party with the same name as the TV series. In 2019, he stood in the presidential elections. His two main political promises were to stop the civil war in the Donbass and to end corruption among the authorities and state administration.

Usually art imitates reality. In this case, it was the opposite: reality imitated art. To first make a television series for several years in which an ordinary school teacher becomes president of Ukraine and solves the nation’s major problems, not least corruption, and then immediately afterwards to run for president — that’s genius. Zelensky was rewarded with a landslide victory. He received over 73% of the vote.

Ritter’s video

A blog reader sent me a recent video of the former UN weapons inspector, US Marine Scott Ritter, reviewing Zelensky. I had just finished a first draft of this column and am rushing to watch the half-hour-long briefing, entitled “Agent Zelensky”.

His hypothesis is that the US is not only behind the 2014 May Day uprising, but also behind Zelensky becoming president. He is an American agent. If so, he is a rogue agent. At the time of writing, during the NATO summit in Vilnius, he has angered both Britain and the US by his lack of gratitude for the support he receives. It doesn’t get any better if former CIA agent Larry Johnson is right when he claims in an interview that Zelensky is a major consumer of cocaine.

On YouTube there are a large number of videos featuring Scott Ritter. My feelings about his ongoing reporting and commentary on the Ukraine war are mixed. He is undoubtedly knowledgeable. He also has considerable analytical skills. The problem is that he has openly sided with Russia, to the point where I sometimes wonder if he is on Putin’s payroll. Whether he is a Russian agent, to spin the same theme.

Ritter’s video about Zelensky disappoints me a bit. It is rather thin, and I already know most of it. Maybe the promised part 2 will be more comprehensive? The best part is the account of all Zelensky’s luxury homes, with a total value of about 50 million dollars — more than half a billion Swedish kronor. These include a villa in Miami, a luxurious summer house in Forte dei Marmi, Italy, and an apartment in London.

At the very beginning of his video, Scott Ritter asks the Russian-American film producer Igor Lopatonok to compare Zelensky as president to an airplane pilot: “Imagine getting into an airplane and discovering that the person flying the plane is not a pilot but an actor playing the role of a pilot. This is a rather poor comparison because becoming president of a country requires no special skills. The actor Ronald Reagan is considered one of the best US presidents. I also think Arnold Schwarzenegger did pretty well as Governor of California, as he was re-elected. Besides, the world is full of professional politicians running their countries into the ground. “Sleepy Joe” (Biden) is probably one of them. He has been a politician all his professional life.

The spring offensive

For those who have followed the war on the battlefield, it has long been clear that Ukraine cannot win, despite the massive support it receives from NATO, the US and Europe, including Sweden. The hope has been in the so-called spring offensive, where Zelensky promised a turnaround that would bring Ukraine to victory. It dragged on and on. Many wondered if there really would be a spring offensive. It finally started, albeit hesitantly, in early June. Zelensky felt compelled to give NATO, the US and the West a run for their money. Why would they send ammunition, tanks and other combat vehicles, replenish the war chest and train soldiers if there was no
counter-offensive?
