It’s been less than five years since I first met the classical Jewish intellectual David Littman, and it is with great sorrow I now hear that I shall never again enjoy his razor-sharp criticism of the moral decay of the United Nations, of the dhimmification of Western authorities, nor his eloquent quoting of Shakespeare, not to mention his loving words to his wife and lifetime ally, Gisèle Littman.

My first encounter with David Littman was a now-legendary conference in Brussels, where he presented a paper entitled “Creeping Dhimmitude the United Nations”. Here he presented what then seemed obscure information about Islamic anti-Semitism and the “Cairo Declaration of Human Rights in Islam”, pointing out that these problems were not being addressed by the UN at all, in spite of the original intentions of the organisation.

At that point, David Littman had become the “Lone Wolf” at the United Nations’ Human Rights Commission (later Council), speaking on behalf of the World Union for Progressive Judaism wupj.org, repeatedly lashing out against the systematic corruption of the founding ideals of the United Nations. This was most vividly expressed by letting the worst human rights violators chair the very organisations that should be policing them, effectively disarming these bodies’ ability to speak against the severe and extensive racism and human rights violations that still take place in the Arab world and elsewhere.

His interventions, undertaken in the original spirit of Eleanor Roosevelt and her peers, caused much dissatisfaction in the Committee and later the Council. These can still be viewed on YouTube and other Internet video providers. Examples include:

To find the defining moment in the life of David Littman, however, one needs to go back more than half a century, to Operation Mural. The state of Morocco was using its newfound sovereignty to crack down on the Jewish citizens in the country, and Mossad, the Israeli intelligence agency, was seeking ways to protect the Jewish populating, preferably through facilitating clandestine immigration to Israel. After a capsizing accident with the ship Egoz, the agency was looking for new ways to protect the Jews.

That help came in the most unlikely form of David Littman, who had just read “The Rise and the Fall of the Third Reich”, and had been searching for opportunities to do something meaningful to help Jews, anywhere. Tall, awkward and very visible, David Littman was possibly the least likely secret agent anyone could envision. Yet he and his wife Gisèle undertook the difficult task of smuggling Jewish children out of Morocco, with their final destination Israel. Working through pretences, challenges and weird coincidences, David managed to rescue 530 Jewish children directly. Further, and a few months later, the government of Morocco gave in, and permitted unlimited Jewish emigration from its lands. This is documented in the movie Operation Mural, which was freely distributed in 2011 and can now be viewed on Vimeo.

Formal recognition for his pivotal role in Operation Mural came late, but it came. At a ceremony in Israel, 2009 awarding David Littman the “Hero of Silence” award, he commented:

Looking back, I can truly say that the best decision I ever made in my life was to marry my wife, Gisele, and the second best was to volunteer to bring out Jewish children from Morocco to Israel, via Switzerland. Our Casablanca mission remains indelible in our minds, as will this unforgettable moment here. In conclusion, I wish to quote those inspiring words of the prophet Jeremiah:

“Behold, I will bring them from the north country and gather them from the coasts of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child . . . a great company shall return thither. They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them . . . And there is hope in thine end, saith the Lord; that thy children shall come again to their own border”

As indeed it happened.

Fortunately, more opportunities to encounter David came up, in particular at the 2010 Hudson Institute “Vienna Forum” conference in Vienna, Austria. In his speech at that conference he detailed how the 57 countries of the OIC are attempting to impose a Sharia-compliant perversion of “Human rights” on their citizens, diametrically opposed to the Judeo-Christian inspired Universal Human Rights originally endorsed by the United Nations.

At that time I had the wonderful opportunity to accompany David and his wife Gisèle for a day in Vienna, visiting the Jan Sobieski Church overlooking the city, as well as several Viennese palaces and churches. On a day like this the formal façade falls away, and intellectual playfulness manifests itself, interacting with whatever the surroundings offer, such as competing in quoting Shakespeare with Robert Spencer (who usually had to admit defeat quickly).

After those days in May 2010, I had the opportunity more frequently to discuss matters with David, concerning articles and videos to be published. Ever the perfectionist, David would keep working on matters until they were perfectly right, open to suggestions but never to imperfection.

On this day, after having lost a unique personality, a friend and a ally in the fight for classical human rights and liberty, one could be burdened by the sorrow of never again meeting a classical intellectual like David. However, hope does spring eternal, and new individuals and organisations are growing to replace those who fell. Organisations such as UN Watch and HonestReporting are undertaking important tasks to expose the corruption of the UN and discreet anti-Semitism, respectively. They are making an increasing impact in the battle to keep the United Nations and the press honest, while bloggers worldwide are standing for freedoms under threat from Islamic fundamentalism and moral corruption.

I am confident that David Littman, if he were 30 again today, would join the Internet-based struggle for human rights, liberty and freedom. Of course in his unique, intellectual manner, and preferably with his beloved Gisèle by his side.

May the memory of David Littman be larger yet than he was in real life.

The trial of the mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik in Oslo will feature, in addition to survivors of his terror attacks, a somewhat bizarre list of so-called political expert witnesses. A few of the initial names have already been dropped, as the list keeps being changed. Among the scheduled witnesses, Lars Gule from Norway and Mattias Gardell from Sweden are both alleged academic experts in the field of contemporary Islamophobia.

Lars Gule is, as of 2012, a postdoctoral research fellow at Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Sciences. His stated research interests are multiculturalism, the Middle East and especially Arab-Islamic political thought. The Socialist Gule is usually referred to as a respected “expert” on multiculturalism in the national media or even the international press. In The Christian Science Monitor he was labeled a neutral academic “terrorism expert” after the Breivik case, although he is in fact an admitted terrorist himself.

In 1977, Gule was arrested in Lebanon for carrying explosives intended for an armed attack in Israel. He has not denied this since, yet his history hasn’t notably impeded his career. He is a prominent national figure on the political Left and was the Secretary General of the Norwegian Humanist Association from 2000 to 2005. Gule was one of seven writers to receive a special scholarship from the Norwegian Non-fiction Writers And Translators Association after the 2011 terror attacks, which he used to write a book focusing on right-wing extremism.

Sadly, the phenomenon of left-wing terrorists who enjoy respectable academic careers afterwards is not limited to Scandinavia. A particularly nasty case in the USA involves the unrepentant Marxist terrorist bomber Bill Ayers. In the late 1960s, Ayers became a leader of the Weather Underground (WU), “an American Red Army.”

Ayers summed up the organization’s ideology as follows: “Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home, Kill your parents.” This didn’t prevent him from becoming a well-connected university professor in Chicago a few years later, however. In 2008, journalists such as Stanley Kurtz and Sean Hannity tried to bring more attention to ties between the presidential candidate Barack Hussein Obama and various representatives of extreme left-wing organizations and groups, among them Bill Ayers.

One of the alleged experts cited by the mainstream media about Islamic issues is the Swedish historian and Socialist activist Mattias Gardell, author of a book about so-called “Islamophobia” that was hailed by reviewer Per Jönsson in the liberal paper Dagens Nyheter as a gold mine of wisdom about the supposedly irrational Islamophobia of the medieval Crusades as well as the politician Kent Ekeroth of the Sweden Democrats.

In 2010 Mattias Gardell, the Swedish organizer of the Ship to Gaza initiative, said Israelis had committed “premeditated murder” and were guilty of piracy. Gardell, a professor of religious history at Uppsala University, returned to Sweden accompanied by six others who had been held captive after their ship was boarded by Israeli soldiers. The activists were met at Stockholm’s Arlanda Airport by a crowd of journalists and sympathizers. People presented them with flowers and chanted “long live Palestine” and anti-Israeli slogans. Another passionate supporter of the ships to Gaza is the Swedish bestselling crime author Henning Mankell.

When asked directly about this, Mattias Gardell made no attempt to hide the fact that the pro-Palestinian ship which he organized headed for the Gaza strip contained members not just of Fatah and the PFLP, but of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt as well as Hamas. He sees nothing wrong with this, and claims that Hamas, responsible for hundreds of individual terror attacks, is not a terror organization but a social movement.

A county commissioner for West Miami-Dade in Florida says that the huge house a Muslim resident is building in his district is really a mosque. The owner of the property says that the building is simply a house for his mother, and that the commissioner’s accusations are fueled by racism, discrimination, and religious intolerance.

In other news, European banks are concerned about capital flight, after panicky depositors withdrew more than a billion euros from banks in Greece and Spain over the past week. Meanwhile, several international airlines have terminated service to Greece, thanks to the collapse of the Greek tourism industry.

A Subtle Cultural Shift

This case of enricher-on-enricher crime is fascinating on a number of levels. A Muslim boyfriend foolishly puts pictures of his naked Muslim girlfriend up on the internet. In revenge the girlfriend’s mother lures the boy to her house, where she bludgeons him so hard with a table leg that he later dies.

Placing the murder weapon in her daughter’s hand in order to throw police off the scent, and in the knowledge that the daughter is under the age of full criminal responsibility anyway, the perpetrator Gedu Bibi gets away with murder for six years.

The cover-up having of this inter-Bengali “honour” crime was discovered, and Mrs Bibi has today been found guilty at the Old Bailey in London.

Bibi, however, was initially and self-evidently perfectly happy for her 21-year old victim, Sumon Miah, to view her daughter as a sex-object and let them be “boyfriend and girlfriend” even though her daughter was but thirteen years old. (And why shouldn’t she have been? Her Muslim faith told her after all, that her daughter had reached maturity.)

But that was, of course, up until Mr Miah tarnished her family’s honour by positing the naked pictures online. Then he had to die. And was deliberately brought to a spot and killed effectively. And then the killing was covered up… the obliging culturally-sensitive British jury though (no doubt operating under the judge’s instruction) found her guilty only of manslaughter:

Mother who lured 13-year-old daughter’s boyfriend, 21, to his death after he posted topless pictures of her online is facing jail

A mother who arranged for her 13-year-old daughter’s boyfriend to be battered to death after he posted topless pictures of the girl on the internet is facing jail today.

Gedu Bibi, 47, lured 21-year-old hospital worker Sumon Miah to her home after being shown the photos of the schoolgirl.

Once there he was hit over the head with a table leg and fell into a coma from which he never recovered.

Mr Miah died nine days later from brain damage on October 17, 2006.

Bibi got her teenage daughter to tell police she had hit the victim in self defence after he turned up with a knife. Her 12-year-old son Fhalak also backed up the story.

Detectives shut down their investigation in 2008 but fresh information emerged two years later which led to Bibi and her former lover, 48-year-old cafe owner Lilu Miah, being charged with murder.

After a trial at the Old Bailey, jurors cleared Bibi of murder but convicted her of manslaughter and perverting the course of justice. Lilu Miah was cleared of both murder and manslaughter.

Just days before the attack, Lilu Miah had shown Bibi four lewd photos of her daughter he had discovered on the internet.

On October 8, 2006, he was invited into Bibi’s family home in Walthamstow on October 8, 2006.

After being knocked out with the table leg, the weapon was immediately wiped clean and then thrust into the hands of [daughter] Shuhina to ensure it held her fingerprints.

When Bibi was finally arrested, she claimed she was asleep when the killing took place, while Lilu Miah claimed he had been working at his cafe.

She was overheard by a police officer fluent in her Bengali dialect muttering: ‘One bastard died, and we have to go through this.’

While being photographed in the police station, she added: ‘It’s good the b*****d died.’

Did you spot it? The subtle cultural shifting prompted by demographic change?

In Western civilization for some time now, grown men do not have 13-year-old “girlfriends”; they have 13-year-old paedophilia victims.

Unless of course the man’s called Jerry Lee Lewis or Roman Polanski, in which case they would face howls of universal public derision and the ostracism of every right-thinking person in civilized society.

This is a story in The Daily Mail, possibly Britain’s most right-wing sympathetic newspaper, yet in the very first sentence it has unconsciously accepted that Islamic premise of a 13-year-old female child as a viable object of the sexual attention of grown men.

No doubt tomorrow the paper will run a story about yet another Muslim child-rape gang, and incredulously ask itself: “Why?”

As mentioned in last night’s news feed, the redoubtable Counterjihad activist David Littman died yesterday in Switzerland after a long battle with leukemia.

Mr. Littman has been eloquently eulogized by Jerry Gordon at The New English Review, and by Andy Bostom at his own website. I’m sure many more remembrances will be published in the next few days.

Vlad Tepes has compiled two video retrospectives to illustrate the enormous efforts that David Littman made at the United Nations in the thankless task of resisting the Islamization of that body.

The second video shows the almost superhuman persistence exhibited by Mr. Littman in the face of continuous interruption during his various attempts to speak at UN meetings. You will see the servants of the OIC sandbag him over and over again in these clips, yet he never gives up:



We won’t see the likes of David Littman again anytime soon. But we who must continue without him will always remember him.

We’ve reported numerous times in the past on the wave of culturally-enriched rapes in Oslo, the capital of Norway.

Different explanations have been offered — global warming, for example, or an increased willingness on the part of the victims to report the crime — to avoid discussing the massive over-representation of non-European immigrants in the rape statistics.

The latest theory holds that irresponsible media outlets are exacerbating the situation by reporting the rape statistics and thereby encouraging racism. Our Norwegian correspondent The Observer has translated excerpts from an article on the topic, and includes this introduction:

This very interesting piece was posted on Document.no earlier today. It’s a response to an op-ed published in one of big newspapers in Norway a couple of days ago in which the author accused the media and the police of causing racism by publishing rape statistics!

These figures deliver a decisive blow against those who claim that non-Western immigrants are unfairly stigmatized in the media in these types of cases.

The translation below is an abbreviated version. I decided to translate only the first half of it.

The translated article:

The chicken or the egg?

And here we go again. Armed with an amateurish news report from Utrop [immigrant newspaper] Anna Kathrine Eltvik, a politician from Rødt [The Reds] accuses the police and media of creating racism with rape statistics. Ms. Eltvik gets right down to the nitty-gritty in her op-ed:

“Why doesn’t VG write about “Per” from Horten, or “Nils” from Trondheim? The fact that most girls and women experience abuse and rape at the hands of their boyfriends, friends and acquaintances is not mentioned at all. Nor is it mentioned that most rapists are ethnic Norwegians. By omitting this fact the country’s best-selling tabloid newspaper creates the impression that only immigrants behave in such a completely unacceptable manner. They should rise above such tactics.

“Are the media and police going to spend any significant time rectifying the damage that they have caused? That’s highly unlikely. And what’s astonishing is that they are likely to get away scot-free, too. After all, there are some Norwegians who thrive in their abominable prejudice, and who don’t wish to admit that they have been wrong.”

The article in Utrop is based on a report published by the Oslo police in 2011: Voldtekt i den globale byen [Rape in the global city], which makes for dismal reading. The source of Tanweer Hussain’s — and thus Anna Kathrine Eltvik’s — sensational headline “The myth about non-western rapists is starting to crack” can most likely be traced to Table 3 (p.28) in the report, which deals with known, convicted perpetrators.

But convictions alone do not paint a correct picture, as only 12% of all reported rapes in Norway result in a conviction. The number of rapists in Norway who are convicted of rape is only between 0.5% and 1%. It is therefore customary to base rape statistics on police reports and the victim’s description of the perpetrator when trying to determine the frequency of rape. And these numbers paint a very clear picture, so clear in fact that some feel compelled to a) disregard all tables except the one that support their own views and b) attempt to sustain other myths.

In the original article Hussain proclaims that:

“The huge surge in rapes in 2012 is attributed to the so-called party-related rapes (date rapes) in which ethnic Norwegians are over-represented.”

But this assertion is incorrect. Ethnic Norwegians are not over-represented in any of the five rape categories drawn up the police. In all the categories, including party-related rapes, there is an over-representation of men from Africa, Asia and the Middle East, which is rather baffling, considering the size of this group in relation to ethnic Norwegians.

The numbers for 2010 tell us that 19.7% of the rapists came from Africa, 15.1% from the Middle East and 14.1% came from Asia, and when considering that the Middle East comprises parts of Africa and parts of Asia it means that 48.9% of the rapes were committed by perpetrators from these two continents. The report’s Table 30, Typer voldtekt anmeldt til Oslo politidistrikt 2010 med identifisert mistenkt/siktet [types of rape reported in Oslo Police District in 2010 where the suspects/accused have been identified], which has been divided according the perpetrator’s country of origin, tells us that men from the Middle East, Africa and Asia are significantly over-represented in all five rape categories:

In comparison, immigrants and individuals born in Norway to immigrant parents from Africa and Asia comprise 17.4% of Oslo’s population, while ethnic Norwegians make up 70%. This means that 17.4% of the population account for 48.9% of the overall rapes, which is a huge over-representation: Individuals from Africa and Asia are four to five times more likely to commit rape than the rest of the population.

This is an overwhelming problem and should be the topic of the debate — not well-meaning or ideologically driven individuals’ constant attempts to obfuscate statistics they find uncomfortable.

Another interesting twist has taken place in the Behring Breivik circus.

You are probably aware that the Breivik defence team has called Hanne Nabintu Herland as a witness. Mrs. Herland is not happy about that and she has written an op-ed in today’s Aftenposten in which she says that under no circumstances will she testify in a show trial that is orchestrated by a madman. She is also saying that she is willing to go to jail over this.

This has the potential to get very interesting.

In other news, Abdel Baset Al-Megrahi, the convicted Lockerbie bomber, has died in Libya two and a half years after the date his doctors had predicted.

It’s my sad duty to report that David Littman has died in Switzerland after a long illness. It was an honor to have known him. He was a tireless supporter of human rights and a staunch opponent of Islamization up until the very end of his life.

Dymphna has been very ill all day today. Her symptoms include a high fever, so she has mostly been confined to her bed. As a result I’ve been busy with non-blog activities, so posting has been light.

As mentioned here previously, earlier this month a group of Salafist radicals attacked members of Pro-NRW during a street demonstration in Bonn. One of the Islamic radicals on the scene that day was the cute ’n’ cuddly Reda Seyam.
