The Brain Rot of White Socialists

A trenchant comment by Laine on one of yesterday’s posts about Norway is worth reproducing here in its entirety. The text has been edited slightly for punctuation and clarity:

Even if you grant the leaders of Scandinavia their false belief that immigration is needed to keep up the tax base and staff to support elderly non-workers, we’re left with the question: what kind of mental midget and/or ignoramus looks around the world and decides to import the culture with the worst work and education ethic, and that is unassimilable due to a supremacist colonist ideology in tandem with a unique legal system sharia that contradicts Western law?

And why does the average Scandinavian keep re-electing such suicidal fools after noticing that the newcomers are not emptying bedpans in nursing homes but lolling about on Welfare making mischief such as rape and vandalism and more parasites hostile to education?

The only explanation is that the trenchant satire in Hythloday’s comment [see the original post] is actually truth: Scandinavians have been brainwashed into white guilt without ever having colonized the Third World. They’d rather their culture die than be called racist by a non-white world and their lib enablers, both of which seethe with racism themselves.

Along with cultural (spiritual) death comes physical degradation as in rape and then bodily death when Muslim numbers permit. This is a sickness found only among whites who are socialist. Neither factor alone is sufficient. Black socialists don’t develop race shame about their much greater failures and lack of achievement. And white conservatives do not prostrate themselves to inferior cultures or political systems.

It’s only in white socialists that one sees the full effect of brain rot and resultant masochism.

Gates of Vienna News Feed 5/24/2012Belgian health minister Laurette Onkelinx was upset when the visiting deputy health minister of Israel refused to shake hands with her. He represents the haredi Torah Judaism party, whose orthodoxy forbids touching members of the opposite sex.

In other news, about 15,000 Muslims will be at this weekend’s 37th annual convention of the Islamic Circle of North America in Hartford, Connecticut. The main topic of discussion at the meeting will be how to defend freedom of religion and thereby counter Islamophobic opponents of sharia.

Putting a Minion in His Place

EU Skull Dragon

Here’s another piece from today’s SOS-Österreich. This brief vignette describes the treatment of the president of the only popularly-elected body in the EU by the VIPs who make the real decisions in the European totalitarian superstate.

EU Socialist Schulz as an “Appetizer” at the EU Summit
May 24, 2012

The following report comes courtesy of a French blogger. It is a little anecdote about the EU summit of 27 heads of states and governments that took place yesterday. It concerns the full-blooded Socialist, Martin Schulz, who was present as EU parliamentary president:

Martin, Schulz, chair of the European parliament, does not like to be demeaned. But that is what happened yesterday evening in Brussels. At the opening of the informal council of heads of states and governments, Martin Schulz (SPD) was given the opportunity to greet the powers-that-be in Europe, and then asked by the chair, Herman Van Rompuy, to leave the working meeting.

EU Stalin“I am happy to be the appetizer to dinner, but I think it is a mistake to remove the parliamentary president who, after all, represents the people,” he declared and indicated with annoyance the different treatment accorded the European Central Bank, president Maria Draghi, who was allowed to stay. It seems that the bosses of Europe had things to talk about that were not for parliamentary ears.

So… should we chuckle about the understanding of democracy of these EU bureaucrats, or about the fact that SPD general secretary Martin Schulz is calling himself a representative of the people?

We will not conceal our schadenfreude.

“You Must Kill All Members of Pro-NRW”

As reported in last night’s news feed, a radical Islamic group has called on Muslims in Germany to kill members of Pro-NRW and media personnel for displaying the blasphemous Mohammed cartoons in recent street demonstrations. In the video below, a mujahid from the region of Khorasan in Central Asia calls Muslims in Germany to murder all members of Pro-NRW and the journalists of the “Jew-controlled” German media.

In preparing this and similar material for posting, Vlad Tepes and I are always presented with a dilemma: how to publicize the ghastly and bloodthirsty incitement broadcast by these murderous thugs, without also helping them spread their message to those who are sympathetic to such ideas?

In this case, Vlad’s solution was to… ahem… augment the graphics of the original video, adding elements that will make the entire production distasteful to committed Salafists. Kind of like antabuse for Islamists, I suppose.

The translated text of the Salafist message is faithful to original. A few incidental sounds have been added to the audio track, however, and the visuals have been thoroughly infidelated.

Many thanks to Hermes for the translation:

Below is a full transcript of this video in article format:

In the name of Allah, the All-merciful / The Islamic movement of Uzbekistan.

“Whoever insults the prophet, either Muslim or kafir, must be killed.” Al-Imam Ahmad.

Today, May 19th, my particular greetings from the Khorasan are directed today at my brothers and sisters, the devoted servants of Allah in Solingen and Bonn, and to all brothers and sisters in Germany. Allah the sublime says: Those who annoy Allah and His Messenger — Allah has cursed them in this World and in the Hereafter, and has prepared for them a humiliating Punishment. And the Sublime says: those who molest the Messenger will have a grievous penalty.

Dear brothers, in recent weeks, a huge blessing has been displayed in German cities to the German people. Muslims sacrificed their time, went to the streets and distributed Qurans by the score, and for free. This distribution was a sign of compassion, with which Islam was sent out, and also a sign of the care of the Muslim, the care he takes for his fellow men, because he feels pain that the treasure of belief, the treasure of Islam is hidden from men. Summarized: with this action our brothers wanted to drive men, and with the help of Allah, from darkness to light. And regarding this, the Creator said: “Who is better in speech than one who calls [men] to Allah, works righteousness, and says, “I am of those who bow in Islam”?

Yet many people, and first of all the leaders, just as in earlier generations in times of Hud, Salih, Nuh and other prophets, received this (sign of) compassion with aversion, many German politicians saw and depicted this friendly call as radical and aggressive. And some let their aversion be followed by evil and hideous actions. The extreme right and Islamophobic Pro-NRW showed its aversion and hate the most plainly. They have exceeded the limits by far, and their provocations have exceeded the limits of patience, and these shall not be passively accepted. Once again, cartoons of our beloved prophet, who is loved by us more that our parents, more than our children, and more than our souls, were distributed, and this happened just as previously with the full awareness that this is an insult [Arabic].

Dear brothers and sisters in Germany, as soon as I got to know what happened, sadness and anger settled in my heart due to the insults to our beloved prophet, but at the same time pride arose in me as I saw how many brothers attacked the enemies of Allah, and did so for the honor of the prophet. You are to be praised, to be admired, and I dedicate to you my [Arabic].

Dear brothers and sisters, following this I went to meet some Mujahideen here in Khorasan, and I told them what happened, and as Allah is my witness, their faces changed immediately as words left my mouth, and they told me to salute you in their name and tell you, to tell you that you must kill all of them. You must kill all members of Pro-NRW. So, last but not least, because of the [Arabic] of the Mujahideen, I would like to call you to that, and to give you some advice.

We would like you to be successful in your business, that’s why we give you this advice:

Go no more to the gatherings of Pro-NRW, because this leads to a fight without control, and there’s a big risk that the police, who of course also stand inimically against you, will arrest you. You do not need to go there and see if they show the cartoons again. They have already done it and that’s why things are already decided.

So we advise you to lurk and search one by one for members of Pro-NRW secretly and undercover. Gather enough information on where they live, their daily movements, their workplace, and other information, and after having done a good and adequate research and having a strategic plan, strike. Strike, with trust in Allah, optimally under the protection of night, or at daybreak, and in this case it is preferable, and I think that you know the indications of the Islamic sharia, that you kill all of them so that you revenge your prophet by killing all of them. And if this is not possible, then strike on them for so long, strike on them for so long, that they regret to the very extreme that they ever insulted the seal of all prophets.

Dear brothers and sisters, no matter what you do, do not forget to meet your prophet in your heart, he will say you proudly: This is one who followed the path of my sunna without having seen me. May Allah bless your actions.

You devoted servants of Allah: the German media have also once again collaborated in this crime. Under the disguise of the neutral reporting they have once again published the cartoons. They have published them as they showed the pictures of Pro-NRW in which placards with the cartoons were held up. This is also not tolerated by the followers of Mohammed. Der Spiegel, which is leaded by Jews, and other known German sections of the media have also insulted our prophet in this way, also and regarding this, I tell you: let your devotion flow in a systematic fight and lurk in ambush for the members of the staff, kill them and teach them a lesson they will never forget.

In conclusion, I’d like to tell you that we too, Mujahideen of Khorasan, who stand in a state of war with the Federal Republic of Germany, declare war especially against Pro-NRW, and we have included them in our war plans, and Allah willing we will take revenge on them.

My dear and utmost appreciated Ummah, I conclude with the words of Allah: “And Allah hath full power and control over His affairs; but most among mankind know it not.” and our last prayer sounds like this: all praise goes to Allah, the Lord of the World.

The Turks Are Coming!

Cultural Enrichment News

The European Court of Justice has overruled a series of Austrian restrictions on “family reunifications” as they apply to Turkish residents in Austria, essentially opening the floodgates to waves of new Turkish immigrants, without the Austrian government having any say in the matter.

Many thanks to JLH for translating this article from SOS-Österreich:

EU Verdict: the Turks Are Coming!

by der Patriot
May 17, 2012

According to the EuGH (European Court of Justice), virtually every Turkish or Anatolian sheep-herder with any relatives in Austria (regardless of whether Austrian or Turkish citizen) can settle in Austria. This onslaught will certainly not mean an enrichment of our work force, since, as is known, these Turks will no longer need to be able to speak German. From that, we can conclude that this expected follow-on move will have to be absorbed by Austria’s social services.

The Kurier’s online edition reports:

It’s about immigrants from Turkey living in Austria who want to bring family members here. Because of supreme court decisions, the various tightenings in immigration law since the middle 1990s do not apply to them. The background is an EU-Turkey agreement that was in existence before Austria joined the EU. Foreigner rights lawyer Helmut Blum, who brought a case to the European Court of Justice: “You could say that the legal situation in 1995 is the standard.”

In principle, it is about a prohibition of deterioration (“reformatio in peius” — a ban on making things worse) for close family members who intend to work in Austria. Much of what policy dictated in terms of obstacles to immigration and restrictions on integration is obsolete. More or less: German before immigrating, minimum age of 21 for a spouse, as well as the agreement to integrate which requires certification of German knowledge for extension of residence. The last amendment took effect in July, 2011.

Recently, in a circular, the interior ministry informed immigration authorities to which persons the exceptions applied. From this emerges that not only Turkish relatives of Austrians will be affected — as originally assumed — but also spouses (as well as registered partners) and their children who want to join a Turkish citizen who is living here.

In fact. knowledge of the decisions is getting around. Turkish media have also reported on them. “We are getting a lot of calls about it. People want to know how things stand — especially with regard to knowledge of German and the minimum age of the marriage partner, before they can come,” says Veli Cayci of the Counseling Center in Vienna.

The country’s largest immigration authority — magistracy division 35 — has for weeks been recording a rising number of inquiries on the new situation. MA 35 head Beatrix Hornschall believes that substantially more provisions no longer apply than the interior ministry assumes in its circular. Hornschall: “We believe that the whole legal situation of the right to settle and the right to sojourn was invalidated.”

To Hornschall, the law, for the application of which there is an almost 300-page compendium to offer guidance to responsible officials, is overdue for reform. “It is no longer the case that that someone who is coming to Austria knows from reading the law what is in force. That is legally very worrying. Distribution of information is becoming increasingly difficult.”

The interior ministry cannot say how many people will make use of the more favorable provisions and whether more Turkish immigrants will be coming. Minister Johanna Miki-Leitner has not yet spoken publicly about the altered legal situation.

Turks in Austria

An extraordinary dilemma! Our government is silent, and meanwhile countless Turkish uncles, aunts, cousins and grandparents are packing their bags.

As a lone voice, the FPÖ several times demanded that the association agreement with Turkey be announced immediately. From the SP and VP, not a peep! The Turks can celebrate — their victory is assured.

Dutch Teacher Sacked for Anti-Islam Tweets

A reader in the Netherlands sends this translated digest from the Dutch newspaper Leidsch Dagblad:

Dutch teacher sacked for anti-Islam tweets: Freedom of speech, but for the select few

Recently Anand Soekhoe, a Dutch sociology teacher from Leiden, Netherlands, was sacked by the Fioritti College in Lisse. The reason for his discharge was some biting anti-Islamic messages he wrote on Twitter.

Soekhoe, who has been employed at the college since last summer, wrote among other things that Islam is not a religion, but “barbarian retardation”. Last Wednesday, the college council called him on the carpet, after which he could go home, according to the newspaper Leidsch Dagblad.

PPV member of parliament Harm Beertema will ask questions about his discharge in parliament, as for Beertema the professional ban seems based on someone’s personal opinion. “One cannot be sacked because the college council thinks his pupils might take offense.”

An Immigration Ponzi Scheme

Our Norwegian correspondent The Observer has translated a fascinating article about the inevitable failure of Norway’s immigration policies, despite the enormous reserves of oil money which are expected to keep the national welfare system afloat.

The translator includes this note:

This article is interesting not because of any ground-breaking content, but because the SSB has finally admitted that the current immigration/asylum system is unsustainable.

One of the first posts I published at my old blog dealt with a study published by NHO (Norwegian business organization) which warned the government that the country’s oil fortune could disappear if current immigration policies weren’t drastically overhauled.

That was six years ago, and the government didn’t heed that advice. Maybe they will this time?

But then again maybe not — after all we’re talking about the Norwegian authorities here.

The translated article from Dagens Næringsliv:

Compares immigration with a pyramid schemes

The head of research at SSB [Statistisk sentralbyrå, Norwegian Bureau of Statistics], Erling Holmøy, punches a hole in the myth that immigration can save Norwegian government finances when oil revenues begin to dwindle and the aging population means that more people are living on the pensions and in need of care, Dagens Næringsliv writes.

Together with senior advisor Birger Strøm, he has studied how immigration affects government budgets.

“Immigration bears certain similarities to a pyramid scheme,” Holmøy tells Dagens Næringsliv.

It generates increased revenues for the public coffers in the early years, but eventually the budget goes into the red, according to his calculations.

The research shows that immigrants from low-income countries receive more than they contribute both in the short and the long term. The main reason is that they have a lower rate of participation in the labor force, lower taxable income, and receive more public assistance than the rest of the population.

“They are pushing the problem in front of them”

More surprising is the fact that neither the traditional skilled immigrants from Western countries are not profitable in the long run, according to the researchers’ calculations.

The reason for this is that over time they become just like Norwegians.

If the politicians don’t do anything they’ll be forced to use the Oil Fund to pay for social security and welfare benefits in a few years, energy consultant, Hans Henrik Ramm says. In that case the oil fund will be depleted within fifty years.

“They push the problem in front of them when they constantly keep adding more people. In the short term the immigrant doesn’t pose a burden with childhood and old age costs, and therefore it appears that the immigrant can provide us with some more flexibility. But the immigrant will eventually have children and grow old. That means that the picture changes over time,” Holmøy tells Dagens Næringsliv.

Holmøy also points out that the average citizen in Norway contributes less than he or she receives in the form of welfare services and assistance. Oil revenues make it possible for the national budget to operate with higher outlays than what is generated in taxes and fees.

When the population increases as a result of immigration, the oil wealth will have to be shared among more people. Consequently immigration becomes an unsustainable enterprise in the long run.

The Global Shakedown

CAIR and other Muslim lobby groups’ eternal bleating about “Islamophobia” is in inverse proportion to any examples of it. Meanwhile, “moderate Muslims” in London warn the government: “I’m a peaceful fellow myself, but I can’t speak for my excitable friends. Nice little G7 advanced western democracy you got here. Shame if anything were to happen to it.”

— Mark Steyn, from “The ‘Oldest Hatred’”

We’ve seen Anjem Choudary do these shakedowns. We’ve heard Mullah Krekar issue his veiled threats.

The same type of thing occurs in Sweden, the Netherlands, and Germany. We’re even starting to hear it in Australia. It only exists in a larval stage in the U.S.A., but its mature form will emerge here eventually, too, once the urban concentrations of Muslims become dense enough.

The routine is always the same, as if scripted by a common source: “We Muslims are peaceful. The believers who live in this country would never cause any violence. But your infidel countrymen in Muslim lands may experience unfortunate consequences if you do not stop this provocative behavior that insults all Muslims everywhere.”

That’s the protection racket: If you want your safety to be guaranteed, you must conform to our behavioral demands.

Pay close attention to the following video message from Germany, because we will be discussing its nuances later on in this post.

Many thanks to Hermes for the translation, and to Vlad Tepes for subtitling this warning from the Salafist Abu Abdullah to the German interior minister and Chancellor Angela Merkel to stop the cartoon initiative by Pro-NRW and other “provocations” against Muslims — or else:

There’s a lot of rich, useful material in this video, more than can be adequately covered in one post. But we’ll touch a few of the high points, and see what we can learn.

The Muslims in Germany were provoked, and they were humiliated, and they were attacked.

This is the primary message that is always communicated by these warnings: Muslims feel humiliated; they are being provoked, and even attacked.

These attacks are not generally physical, of course. But any perceived insult to the prophet is considered to be the same as a physical attack on all Muslims. It is the moral equivalent of an act of war, and must be responded to as such.

Unfortunately, many Western political leaders and media writers share the same sentiments: to make a Muslim feel insulted or humiliated is equivalent to attacking him, and at least partially justifies his violent response. The blame for the violence thus lies with those who insult Islam, rather than with the Muslims who stab, shoot, bomb, throw rocks, or set fires.

This craven Western solicitude towards the injured dignity of Muslims is part of the reason why these shakedowns are becoming bolder and more frequent.

I’m not allowed to insult Jews in the streets.

The speaker is playing on the common assertion that Muslims “are being treated the way German Jews were in the time of the Third Reich.” This false equivalence is a popular ploy, particularly among German Muslims. This Salafist knows his audience.

As if humiliated Jews burned cars in the streets of Berlin in 1938. As if the Völkischer Beobachter were so offensive in its insults that Jews took to the streets of Hamburg, stabbing policemen and throwing rocks at passers-by.

We would never insult Jesus.

This is particularly disingenuous. When a Muslim refers to “Jesus”, he means Isa, the Muslim prophet. He does not consider Isa to have been the son of God. Nor did Isa die on the Cross. The Muslim Isa is not part of any Trinity, nor co-equal with God the Father.

If Christians were as thin-skinned as Muslims, they would consider these sentiments grievously insulting. But of course they aren’t and they don’t, which is why Muslims can say they are not “insulting Jesus”. If the tables were turned, there would be blood in the streets — Christian blood.

I consider him [the judge or politician] to be responsible for this escalation.

Muslims are not responsible for their violent actions: those who insult Allah or Mohammed are.

Once again, this causative analysis is at least partially accepted by the numerous Western enablers of Muslim ferocity. Muslim “humiliation” would not so huge an issue if the ruling class did not accept the basic premises of this argument, as they are understood by Islam.

Islam will in any case seize power over everything.

Now we get down to the nitty-gritty. Everything else is just temporary, a holding pattern until Allah’s will is finally carried out and the infidel is converted, subdued, or exterminated.

Make this people abandon what they are doing, and… we will remain peaceful.

Could the message be more explicit than this?

It is not allowed to insult and degrade us, and this [is] by no means a threat, this is simply reality.

This “simple reality” contradicts the earlier assertion that “we also find that freedom of expression must not be restricted, and according to this one can insult, one can insult me.”

So which is it? Can we insult you or not?

As soon as other Muslims in other countries, in Muslim countries hear about this, German citizens will be in danger… This is not a threat; this is a plea and a request for peaceful coexistence in this land.

“This is not a threat.” No, it never is.

The speaker is simply stating the plain facts about what will happen to those who insult Islam. It’s always left up to Muslims somewhere else, those in majority-Muslim countries, to will carry out the violence. The shakedown artist hastens to remind his listeners that under Islamic law he is bound by a covenant of peace with non-Muslims while he lives in their country.

Until the Muslims become strong enough, that is. Then they can take action. Then they can teach the infidel a painful lesson, and it will all be in complete accord with the Koran and the will of Allah.

Muslims have no agency. When certain actions take place, Muslims feel humiliated. Then people get burned, tortured, maimed, and killed. This is essentially the same as a natural disaster, like a tornado or an earthquake. These consequences can be avoided, of course, and if the non-believer has any sense, he will mend his ways and stay safe.

If he doesn’t, he may wind up dead. But that’s nobody’s fault — it’s simply the will of Allah.

*   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *

Finally, here is a full transcript of the video in article format:

This is a plea to every politician, to every politician in this country. This is a plea and a request to all politicians here in Germany, and I speak especially to Federal Minister Friedrich, to Chancellor Merkel, and also to the Interior Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia.

I have seen what happened some days ago, I have seen this escalation, and none of us wanted this escalation, none of us wanted blood to be spilled, none of us wanted stones flying, but we were provoked, the Muslims in Germany were provoked, and they were humiliated, and they were attacked. And this is something unacceptable even according to German laws and the constitution.

I’m not allowed to insult Jews in the streets, I’m not allowed to insult police officers or anybody else in the streets, and as usual, I’m brought to account, denounced, and punished. One is not allowed to humiliate us. and also not in this way.

It is neither permissible nor acceptable that one is humiliated, and one is insulted on grounds of background or religion, and we will not accept this. Just as we in this country have obligations, and we have to comply with the laws, we must be peaceful, we must comply with lots of things, just as we have obligations, we have also rights. And these rights dictate first of all that our dignity is not to be trampled, that we are not to be degraded.

And this is one of the most important points which lies consistently in the constitution. The dignity of people is inviolable. How is it possible, that here in this country where the dignity of people is inviolable, or it allegedly is, how is it possible, that people are allowed to insult others and to humiliate others in the most heinous way?

They know very well that we Muslims have sacred things, just as any other person has. In the same way we also have sacred things, and these are for us sacred, and to these belong most particularly almighty God, the book of God, the Koran, and his messenger. We make no jokes with these things. These are things which we worship, which are sacred to us, absolutely sacred.

We are not against these people or against others, extreme right or whoever, when they insult us, we can pay no attention to that. We also find that freedom of expression must not be restricted, and according to this one can insult, one can insult me, say “foreigners out”, “Muslims out”. We have nothing against this, we have no objections, I myself especially not. If others have something against it, they can do something against it, or have objections to it, but I say explicitly that we have nothing against the fact that some people have something against us, also if this is not a particularly intelligent behavior, or, or not very human to despise others regarding their religion or origin.

But even if this happened, that this should necessarily be done, and people simply feel hate towards others, and try to gain followers with these actions in which they provoke other people, in which they humiliate and insult others, and we do not engage in this; yes we do not do such things, we have dignity and we would never insult Jesus, neither here not anywhere else. We would never insult Jesus, Moses or any other prophet (pbu them), we do not provoke in this way, and when we say that people don’t believe in the last prophet, and don’t get closer to Islam, Islam means simply devotion to God, and also believe in God’s last message, and follow it. That these people do not follow this message, for instance, the core message of all prophets, that one serves an almighty God and no other, nobody else, one doesn’t pray to any other God, and he who does goes to hell — this is no insult, this is something in which we believe, which was imposed on us by God, and it’s he who decides who goes to paradise and to hell, and not we. And this is something we believe, it’s neither provocation nor insult.

One can also, one can also ask a rabbi in a synagogue, where we je… we Muslims and also Christians go, and he’ll also say we go to hell. It’s their opinion, and it’s OK, anybody can suggest this, and the Christians, when one talks to a priest, they say just the same about us, and I have already spoken with missionaries here in Germany: if I do not believe in Jesus, that is, as he believes in his divinity, in the son of God, so to say, then I go to hell. And as already said, that one says that the other goes to hell, this is not something we wish for the others, because if so, then we wouldn’t distribute and finance free Korans, and stay somewhere regardless of the weather, and dedicate our time and energy to give so much, in order to bring others to the right path. It’s not compulsory, but we wish that everybody might go to paradise, and that’s why we call for and announce the truth, and this is no provocation, to distribute Korans is no provocation.

Because in the first place this is something totally legitimate, it is legitimate to announce a religion, it is legitimate to give a book as gift, this is no provocation, and in the second place, the Bible is also distributed and given as gift in shelters, in many many countries in the world, and also in Islamic countries in Africa, where there’s famine, and to whom one gives with one hand bread, and with the other a Bible, and they are also promoting their religion, and as already said, other religions too are promoted. And this is no provocation; this is a gift, and we are convinced that this is the truth, we would very much like that people should go to paradise, we would like to take everybody to paradise with us, and we wish the best for us, and also for others.

And this is no provocation, and nobody has the right to, let’s say, rebuke us. And if one asks us about our intentions, those are harmless, because this book does not say that one has to become an extremist Muslim, or to join a faction, a group, a party, the Salafists or any other. We would like others to be Muslims, to be devoted to God in order to go to paradise and be exempted from punishment, just as we wish the same for ourselves and our families, and this is no provocation, and we are not looking forward to see people join us, or make numbers in Islam grow.

Islam will in any case seize power over everything, and this will be so, it is day by day protected by God, and it keeps growing day by day in the entire world, in each and every country. Islam keeps growing on the earth, and also in numbers, and as already said, this is the religion of God, and we’ll protect it. And we would prefer that things not escalate any further; one has already seen that regarding this issue, Muslims, and this was already seen yesterday in Bonn at the counter-demonstration. There were not only Salafists or practicing Muslims, there were also normal Muslims who were not pleased with that, one has seen this, one knows this, and one must…

I’m not absent from reality, I know how thing run, one has to learn from mistakes, one already saw that back in 2007 when people died because of the provocations of Kurt Westergaard – may he in one or other way be cursed for what he did – now and always, one has to see this clearly. Muslims will never accept this, neither here nor anywhere else, and that’s why I ask and I call upon all politicians in this country, and specially upon the interior minister from North Rhine-Westphalia, the Federal Minister and personally Mrs. Merkel: don’t allow this to happen. The Interior Minister from N. Rh.-W. prohibited it, and with total reason, because he knew that this would not end well, but somebody did let it happen, these politicians, or the judge who let this happen, who revoked this ban, I consider him to be responsible for this escalation, because one saw what happened before; one has to learn from mistakes; one has to see what happened in history; one has seen how many people died in 2007, after the issue of the cartoons, and that’s why I appeal for a deliberate stop to all this.

We did not want this escalation, we do not want this to happen again, we wouldn’t like violence, and although some say that we are violent, that we want to be provoked, we do not want this. Make this people abandon what they are doing, and we will not say a word, we will not engage in counter-demonstrations, we will remain peaceful, but one has to respect our rights, it is not allowed to insult and degrade us, and on the other side, this no by no means a threat, this is simply reality.

As soon as other Muslims in other countries, in Muslim countries hear about this, German citizens will be in danger. This is not a threat; this is a plea. This is a thoughtful appeal to the common sense of each and every German, for you to suppress this issue, to stop those provocations, and those insults, and those humiliations, so that German citizens will not be in danger abroad.

You have seen what happened in Arab countries during the Arab spring, the revolutions, people who are already in an insurgency, who are stirred up with everything that happens in their countries, with violence, with injustices etc… that’s why you should not put Germans in danger.

If Muslims get to know that in this country, and I’m already realizing that one is trying to minimize, to minimize this issue in the media, so that this does not reach foreign countries, does not reach the Arab world, I do not find it bad from the point of view of the Germans, because if Muslims get to know this, I’m pretty sure that because of this, Germans are in danger, Germans live in many Arab countries, in Morocco, in Egypt, in Algeria, in Tunis, Indonesia, Yemen. There are Germans there; there are also embassies with employees, so these people are by all accounts in danger, because if Muslims are provoked over there, and Muslims are in this case, when their sacred things are attacked, their pride, their honor, that what they honor and live above all, so when these things are attacked, then many people will make things — because they won’t make fools of themselves — things will escalate, and that’s why I say once more, this is not a threat, this is a plea and a request for peaceful coexistence in this land. four million people live here in Germany, four million Muslims, live here in Germany, more or less four million Muslims, and nobody wants this escalation here, nobody wants these dangers here, that’s why I ask for this to be stopped.

And Muslims living here have also done something for this country. We are not here to get welfare payments, as some portray us, but we’ve done something for this country, and there are lots of converts, that is, German Muslims, Germans who profess this religion, and practice this religion. And as already mentioned, we are here in this country, and many of us are citizens who pay taxes. There are people, intellectual citizens, there are academics, people who work for this country. My father came here after WW2 and became an architect, and has built up Germany; he has planned and built roads, bridges, lots of things.

So we have contributed a lot to this country; we have done something for this country, and as I already said, we have rights, we have also obligations, and we want to have these rights, and politicians must want a peaceful coexistence, as they prevent these provocations.

We so do not provoke in this way, and neither do we want to be provoked. We insult nobody, and this deeply, we do not insult the prophets of other religions, of the non-Muslims, we do not insult sacred things. That’s why we demand and ask that our sacred matters, that there simply be a red line. There we know no jokes, and not by us Salafists or extremists, but by us Muslims, we are simply people devoted to God, and we have sacred things, and there we know absolutely no jokes, and that’s why I ask you to put an end to this, stop these provocations, and then things will be…

Murder in the Asylum

Cultural Enrichment News

Our Norwegian correspondent The Observer has translated two news stories from VG.no about a fatal stabbing that occurred on Tuesday at an asylum center in Bergen, on the west coast of Norway.

He includes this note:

The first article claims that there were three individuals involved in the attack, but the second one claims that only two individuals were present at the time of the murder. I assume that the updated second article contains the correct details.

There was another very ugly incident in Oslo a few days ago in which a plainclothes police officer was brutally assaulted in Oslo and almost killed. He was attacked from behind and received kicks to his head while lying on the ground. The perpetrator was a ‘new Norwegian’.

Also, a poll in VG today shows that FrP (the Progress Party) would lose 50% of their MPs if an election were held today. This poor voter response is presumably a result of FrP’s decision to relax its immigration policies. They adopted this position this to become more ‘palatable’ for other political parties, but unfortunately it has backfired on them big time.

First, translated excerpts from a VG.no article published yesterday (May 22) :

A dead man has been found at a reception center in Fana in Bergen. Another one has been injured. The police have confirmed the death in a press release. The police were informed of the fatal stabbing at 12:14 pm. The deceased man appears to have been stabbed several times in the upper body.

According to information that VG has been given, the two stabbing victims are of Afghan origin, while the perpetrator is from Somalia.

Several witnesses are now being questioned by police .According to Bergens Tidende [local paper], the police have brought in thirteen residents from the detention centre for questioning. They have been given the status of witnesses.

According to sources VG-Nett has been in contact with the two Afghans who locked themselves inside a room at the reception out of fear of the alleged perpetrator.

“I can confirm that two people have been stabbed and that one person has been arrested. That’s all the information we have at the moment,” Morten Ørn, the chief of police at Bergen Police Station south, tells BA.no.

Efforts to determine the course of events has proven to be difficult due to the surviving Afghan’s poor English skills.

The second piece is a complete translation of an article published today (May 23):

Asylum seeker accused of murder claims that he was attacked

The asylum seeker who is charged with fatally stabbing a fellow asylum seeker at a reception center in Bergen on Tuesday claims that he was locked inside a room and attacked.

According to the man’s attorney it could be a case of self-defense.

The Afghan man has been charged with manslaughter, but has so far not entered a plea, defense attorney Gisle Didriksen tells Bergens Tidende.

“My client claims that he was invited into a room on the second floor of the building. There he was accused of having converted to Christianity. At the time of the incident there were only two people present in the room, my client and the deceased. My client was attacked almost immediately with a knife after the door was locked behind him,” Didriksen says.

The Afghan was able to jump sideways, but received an injury to his hand.

“During the attack, in what clearly appears to be a self-defense situation, the deceased sustained a knife-inflicted injury. Following this my client managed to escape by jumping out the window. He suffered an injury to his back in the process,” Didriksen concludes.

Da’wa in the Pennsylvania School System

A debate has arisen in the town of Norwin, Pennsylvania over the contents of a history book that is being used in area middle schools. Controversial passages from myWorld History: Early Ages include:

  • “Religious toleration also helped the Arab Muslim Empire expand.”
  • “The Arab Muslim empire was generally tolerant towards Jews and Christians.”
  • “As the Arab Muslims build their empire, Islam spread peacefully both inside the empire and to the lands beyond its borders.”
  • “Mobs of Christian peasants turned on those Jews who would not convert to Christianity.”
  • “Medieval Christians would not tolerate even minor differences in beliefs.”

Why should there be any problem with these assertions? Anyone who has paid even the slightest attention to the news on network television is thoroughly familiar with the peaceful origins of Islam, and the dangers of radical Christianity. This is unexceptionable stuff, right?

Well, a Lutheran pastor in Norwin disagrees. Many thanks to Vlad Tepes for uploading this news report from a local TV station:

Below are excerpts from an article on the same topic in The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review:

Norwin defends 7th-grade textbook

Norwin administrators are defending a middle school social studies textbook that a local pastor called “an Islamic Trojan horse” in requesting that the district revise its curriculum involving the religion.

In an administrative report this week, Superintendent William Kerr said the textbook is “an acceptable reference for the seventh-grade global studies course of study.”

The book, “myWorld History: Early Ages,” is one of several used in seventh-grade social studies “to teach comparative religions in a nondevotional, instructional manner,” according to the district.

In March, The Rev. Bruce Leonatti of Zion Lutheran Church in Circleville told the school board that the book “promotes Islam over Christianity and Judaism” and “denigrates Christians.”

Leonatti said he plans to present a second report to the district about two textbooks under consideration for purchase because he disagrees with how they describe the Muslim aspect of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

“This is not a done deal in terms of what we’re looking at,” Leonatti said. “We’re still exploring this. And they seem to kind of want to put it away and get rid of the whole issue, but it’s still there.”

Leonatti, who formerly taught history at Duquesne High School and in Ohio, contends the social studies text is riddled with errors. He said he’s involved with “ACT! For America,” whose mission is to “give Americans concerned about national security, terrorism, and the threat of radical Islam, a powerful, organized, informed and mobilized voice,” according to its website.

The book’s publisher, Pearson Education, “reaffirmed its commitment to a balanced and accurate coverage of world religions.” The “myWorld History” program is used in thousands of classrooms nationwide, a spokeswoman said.

Kerr states in the report that “there are no errors or misrepresentations in the textbook at issue which are significant enough to render it unusable as a curricular resource.”

“I believe the board has been very supportive of our teachers and administrators and concur that the administrative report brings closure to this topic,” Kerr said.

As part of the administrative review, the district asked a second pastor, the Rev. Clifton J. Suehr, to review the book. Suehr is pastor of Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity in Irwin and president of the Norwin Ministerium.

In his report to the district, Suehr called the book “well-written and enriching” and “well-suited for middle school-aged youth.”

“Without using inflammatory language, a historical overview is presented in an even-handed manner,” Suehr wrote.

Leonatti said he believes a conflict of interest exists because Tracy McNelly, assistant superintendent of secondary education, is a member of Suehr’s church and helped to review the book for the district.

But Kerr said there is no conflict of interest and “no validity to any conspiracy theory.”

“(Suehr’s) credentials are exceptional,” he said. “Why not reach out to a very well-respected and well-known community member here in Norwin?”

Kerr said the district will address curriculum issues as they arise.

“Whatever time it takes, we’ll take the necessary time to do any comprehensive review,” he said.

The district’s focus should remain on teacher quality and the effectiveness of how they instruct, he said.

“Norwin isn’t going to have any curriculum or textbook that’s going to be harmful to students,” Kerr said. “We are here in this case to teach about cultures. Part of culture is religion and tradition. We have made every effort to teach comparative religion in a nonbiased, nondevotional way.”

Narcissism Trumps Ideology

Anders Behring Breivik

The article below from the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten discusses the evidence that pathological narcissism, rather than political ideology, was the primary motivation for the atrocities committed by Anders Behring Breivik. This analysis highlights the absurdity of calling critics of mass immigration to testify as “expert” witnesses at the killer’s trial.

Fjordman has this to say on the issue:

Ideology is very much secondary for the mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik. He’s first of all a mentally disturbed person who has no conscience, but a great fascination with violence. His “ideology” was summed up in court when he himself indicated that he admires all those who use violence, regardless of their political views.

He also professes contempt for those who don’t use violence. In Breivik’s case, violence is not a means to achieve an end; it is an end in itself.

Ideology is just a cloak he uses to wrap around himself to hide his naked thirst for murder. One could argue that it is therefore an abuse to discuss Breivik’s “ideology,” in the courtroom or anywhere else, since he doesn’t have any.

Many thanks to Henrik Ræder Clausen for translating the relevant sections of the article:

Psychology:

Were the crimes of Anders Behring Breivik on July 22nd 2011 an expression of his extremist views on immigration, or rather an attempt of an offended man to restore his ego? While Norwegian court psychiatrists disagree, a group of psychologists tries to figure out why Breivik killed 77 of his countrymen.

By Jakob Binderup

At roughly 6:30 PM on July 22nd, Anders Behring Breivik let go of his rifle and surrendered to the police, who had scrambled to the island Utøya, after he had killed 77 of his fellow countrymen in the preceding hours.

It wasn’t long after the smoke had cleared from the Norwegian government quarters and the sun had set over Utøya before a discussion began that has not only occupied a divided team of Norwegian psychiatrists, but also been a major issue in everyday discussion inside and outside the borders of Norway.

And the question that has occupied everyone in the roughly nine months since, and which the Norwegian court is to resolve in the pending court case, is whether the 33-year-old Norwegian can be considered sane and fit for punishment, or if he really from suffers paranoid schizophrenia and should be institutionalized.

Breivik in black #2

While the Norwegian court psychiatrists quarrel over the riddle, in search of a fitting diagnosis for the first mass murderer in Norwegian history, psychology actually does have several adequate labels for mass murderers of the Breivik type.

“Pseudo-command”, “Violent believer” and “Ultimate warrior” are all labels applied by psychologists to mass murderers, ever since the American Andrew Kehoe detonated three bombs killing 45 (most victims being children) in the village of Bath in 1927. The attack was supposedly a protest against high taxation levels, after he had given up paying off his mortgage. It is still considered the most dramatic attack on a school in US history.

A deliberate attack

What is held in common among Andrew Kehoe, Anders Behring Breivik and other mass murderers, who have planned their attacks after long deliberations, is a combination of destructive personality disorders and repeated violations of a twisted self-perception.

That is the opinion of Inge-Arne Teigset, a psychologist at the Centre of Competence for security, prisons and court psychiatry at the Hospital of Gaustad, Norway.

He has worked with the criminally insane for two decades, and in a team with two colleagues, he has used Breivik as a case to examine what creates and motivates a particular category of mass murderers.

“These mass murderers frequently kill random persons in the public sphere, but may also kill family members or particular groups of people they believe have treated them poorly. The killings take place without emotional influence. In this way the mass murderer comes across as a predator hunting, not a madman out of control,” explains Inge-Arne Teigset.

But in order to understand a — to most people incomprehensible — act, one has to analyse the background and psychological development of the mass murderer. And since Breivik not only survived his attack on Utøya, but also described his upbringing in his 1,500 page compendium, he offers a unique insight in the universe of a mass murderer, making it possible to analyse why he killed 77 persons on the 22nd of July, says Inge-Arne Teigset.

Socially excluded

In his “Manifesto”, Anders Breivik offers his own justification for his attacks on the government buildings in Oslo and the AUF summer camp on Utøya on July 22nd.

The attack was supposedly Breivik’s brutal protest against the liberal immigration policy in Norway, and an attempt to raise awareness of what is claimed to be a war between Europe and Islam.

Breivik emphaticBut according to Inge-Arne Teigset, Breivik’s “ideology” was not the driving force behind the attacks.

On the contrary, a series of trigger events, traceable to his childhood and adolescence, are crucial.

At one point of his life, the Anders Behring Breivik’s father chose to break contact with his son. The father had already left the family when Breivik was a year old, and the last contact between the two took place in 1995.

In his manifesto Anders Breivik describes himself as socially competent. At that time he was 15 years old, and, according to his own account, one of the most significant graffiti artists in Oslo.

At the same time, he also lost contact with his friends. According to him, that was due to the increasing criminal conduct of his friends, but according to testimony by several of them, the friends chose to exclude Breivik from the group. They add that he never had a significant position as a graffiti artist.

This twisted self-image later developed into a key issue in the trial.

Court psychiatrists have concurred that Breivik is excessively self-occupied and narcissistic.

“These experiences have been central in the development of the narcissist personality disorder. Being let down early is a key element for many mass murderers, who have been abandoned by those who should offer them security and love. When those close to you consciously abandon you, and lacking alternative relations to fulfill the need, it can be extremely traumatic,” explains Inge-Arne Teigset.

Although Anders Behring Breivik characterises himself as socially well-founded, he moved back to live with his mother in 2006 after a series of business failures.

For an entire year, he remained in a basement room by his mother, doing nothing except sleeping and playing “World of Warcraft” on his computer.

94 percent of all mass murderers are characterized as “social outcasts” or “loners”, spending most of their time alone.

Teigset explains that a narcissistic personality disorder in itself can be extremely destructive. And if an exaggerated self image is violated over and over, that can develop into a dangerous cocktail for fragile and impressionable persons.

Replacing the violated self-perception

The father, according to Teigset, played a crucial role, but also business failures and the rejection from his friends contributed to breaking down Breivik’s identity.

Breivik in the Dock

Therefore he saw it as a necessity to construct a new self, and it is this version of Anders Behring Breivik that can be studied in his large compendium.

In this, Breivik seeks to come across as a gifted, well spoken and dedicated idealist, fighting for a higher ideal. And willing to use any means in order to achieve his goal.

The compendium has several photos of Breivik wearing a uniform and carrying firearms, according to Inge-Arne Teigset, evidence of the warrior mentality that is a common compensation mechanism among mass murderers.

“This is a mechanism needed for psychological survival. One develops an alternative self-perception, because it becomes too burdensome to live with the realization that one is undesired and unloved. In the case of Breivik, he has developed an identity diametrically opposed to the perceived reality: namely that he is extraordinarily valuable, clever and able to execute operations out of reach for others.”

Projecting revenge

These alternative egos are known and categorized by psychology. For “pseudo-commando” as well as for “violent believer”, revenge constitutes a common motivating factor. Timothy McVeigh, who bombed a federal building in Oklahoma in 1995 and killed 168 people, used the expression “ultimate warrior” about himself. He had a dream of joining an elite military force, the Green Berets, but had to give up when he failed the admission test.

Rejected, humiliated and socially isolated, McVeigh was looking for a purpose in life. Using his extraordinary knowledge of weapons from his army background, he turned against the institution that had rejected him, the American state. In letters he elaborated how he desired to be the first in a new American revolution, and when he was arrested by the police, he was wearing a T-shirt with the text “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.” Anders Behring Breivik described himself as a Crusader of an anti-Communist resistance movement, and Inge-Arne Teigset states that some mass murderers consciously use ideologies to justify their mass killings.

They have a need for revenge and a perverted desire for recognition. And for mass murderers such as McVeigh and Breivik, only the gaze of the entire world suffices to satisfy their needs.

During the interrogations of Breivik, the 33-year-old Norwegian has at no time shown any signs of regret or remorse over his acts. To the contrary, he has stood upright and in a self-confident voice boasted about how well-planned and well-executed the attacks were. According to Inge-Arne Teigset that is a clear expression of his elevated self-perception.

“His narcissistic self-image gets lots of nourishment from this. Well aided by the huge media hysteria.”

I’m Baaaack!

DoctorsWhat a trudge through the valley of the shadow of death that was! You know it’s bad when you’re afraid you might live. I sure don’t want to experience that kind of pain and fever again in a hurry.

Our doctor says I probably had “cruise ship fever”, also known as norovirus.

Due to the damage the novovirus caused — without even a cruise to show for all that misery — the second act of the drama was some kind of hiatal hernia revenge resulting from the torture my illness inflicted on my alimentary canal. “Attention will be paid”, it rumbled. And indeed it had my full focus. Like I had a choice? The worst of it was not being able to lie down. Fortunately, it receded just in time to avoid a trip to the Emergency Room.

Act Three is the euphoria that invariably accompanies the cessation of pain. I’m fond of Isaak Dinesen’s observation about happiness. She said there are only three portals into that state, and the first is simply the animal spirits released by the sudden cessation of pain. The Baron says it’s the release of endorphins.

Whatever it is, here I am in Act Three — mildly euphoric and enjoying this rare pain-free state. Or relatively pain-free. High spirits make it hard to sleep soundly — however, that’s an observation, NOT a complaint. I’m glad — gleeful even — to be here playing in the sandbox, and plan to enjoy this freedom as long as it lasts. The secret is to avoid any attempt to prolong the joy past its natural span. Experience has taught me that routinization and ho-hum will descend soon enough.

Meanwhile, thanks to everyone for their well wishes and prayers. During that episode — both parts — the Baron would come down from his office and tell me about your concerned responses. Those messages were and are a balm… My gratitude to all of you.

Now I wait to see what tomorrow brings.
