Throughout the Western Ecumene including the UK socio-cultural collapse and ethnic treason in high places continue apace. Mind you, this debacle is not confined to this small archipelago; wherever one looks from the USA to Canada, from non-EU Europe (Norway, Iceland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, etc.) and to the EU itself and then on south to the Antipodes, the picture is the same.

Simply put, we are in the midst of a mass invasion by primitive barbarian hordes, an invasion enabled and orchestrated by ruthless global power seekers who are pulling the strings in the background whilst at the same time paedophiles, perverts and deviants of every conceivable persuasion simultaneously infiltrate and poison virtually every public and private body with their toxic sexual indulgencies. The once Hallowed Halls of Academia have become so infested with this insanity that they now do little more than churn out young people with minds so crippled that they cannot differentiate between make-believe and reality.

Nevertheless, it is worth bearing in mind that Europeans became civilized only after several centuries of methodically executing criminals and invaders and imposing other violent forms of civilisation. In Africa, genetic patterns that had been significantly reduced in the other primary human sub-species were never eliminated and are still prevalent there and throughout the African diaspora.

[Disambiguation: The short précis in the paragraph immediately above is written from my memory of an article I read quite some time ago but did not archive. Furthermore, I do not recall ever reading any anthropological or genetic arguments, either then or now, challenging or substantiating the article’s central hypothesis so I must leave that line of research to any interested readers, other than to say that it is not unreasonable to conclude that evolution by artificial selection doesn’t produce new species, but it most certainly does produce more socially coherent and smarter human beings. —SIII]

The latest result of this African-heritage genetic pattern was horrifically demonstrated a few days ago in the London Borough of Croydon, a.k.a. the stabbing capital of London, where a 15-year-old black schoolgirl trying to defend her friend on the way to school was stabbed to death by a 17-year-old black ‘youth’ because her friend had rejected his advances; he subsequently used a foot-long, serrated zombie knife to stab the girl in the neck and chest. This, however, is really no surprise when looks at the demographics of Croydon.

According to the latest 2021 census, Croydon is predominantly white at 48.4%** with non-white minorities representing the remaining 51.6% of the population. Black people were the largest minority group in Croydon accounting for 22.6% of the population. In England more broadly the portion of the population that is white is 81%, 10% are Asian and 4% are Black. Metropolitan Police statistics also show Croydon had more stabbings than any other London borough in the year to last month — recording 211 knife crimes. (** ‘Predominantly white’ is an obfuscation used to mislead the reader from the reality that Croydon is a minority white Borough in the heart of our capitol city). The barbarians are definitely through the gates and increasing by the day; this could well be described as a form of ethnic Quantitative Easing which is eliminating the civilised values of this nation.

So, we the people of the West have a choice: either impose the same cruel and merciless system of punishment on criminals and invaders today that the medieval Europeans did, or watch our civilisation collapse everywhere such archaic genetic patterns are permitted to prevail. We must let Anarch’s Legions march or we are finished. Hence, the only question now is just how brutal and comprehensive the process of recovery will be, and as for the biology-denying plague of transgenderism, it is a fabricated attention-seeking condition used to legitimise abnormal behaviour, and will simply cease to exist in the midst of that great turmoil that will soon impact us.

Further on the home front, we now live with violent criminality by day and night in the form of drug peddling, stabbings, muggings, violent burglaries and gangs of organised thugs plundering shops and businesses [1] & [2], in the main perpetrated by a protected criminal sub-class with little fear of meaningful punishment in a system that is terrified of being labelled as racist unless the offender is white. As a consequence, the everyday activities of millions of law-abiding citizens are curtailed, and they now go in fear of their lives and livelihoods even before they are hit with yet more punitive taxes simply for leaving their homes in vehicles that are not compliant with Sadiq Khan’s highway robbery project.

Add to this the undefined number of homegrown benefit junkies sucking at the public teat and further emptying what little is left in the nation’s coffers already drained dry by supporting the hundreds of thousands of criminal predators and parasites who have invaded these islands by land, sea and air.

Where I live is not to too badly infected at the moment; it remains somewhat of a backwater, an island of semi-calm within the eye of the storm that is tearing the rest of the country apart, although this small town has had its quota of ‘asylum seekers’ secretly dumped on it (quietly in the dead of night, of course, in case we long-established inhabitants should be so white racist as to object to this forced non-British occupation) and who have taken up all of the available social housing where they are sheltered, fed and watered and provided with free pocket money at the taxpayers’ expense whilst our own young people despair of finding affordable rental housing for themselves.

Londonistan/Africa-on-Thames, long under the draconian thumb of a Labour Muslim Mayor, plus Birmingham, Manchester and every other large urban conurbation in the UK are no longer British in any meaningful sense of the word. They have become the fiefdoms of the imported scum of the world, in many cases by the Demented Slaves of Allah, who have arrived both illegally or, as with the Pakistani and Bangladeshi paedophile rapists…

…mostly legally thanks to decades of high treason on the part of the self-serving drones who are still warming their posteriors on the green benches in the House of Commons and the red benches in that geriatric nursing home known as the House of Lords, all of whom are now themselves being quietly cleansed and replaced in both the Legislative and Executive arms of government. The photograph below, published by Khan’s apparatchiks in the London Assembly, make it quite clear what future lies in store for what remains of the native British still managing to survive in their capital city and elsewhere throughout this once green and pleasant land.

The document describes how female slaves who’d been given to IS fighters in should be treated if found to have contracted AIDS. Enslavement of these women and their forced marriages to IS fighters is considered normal and taken for granted. If testing shows they have AIDS, however, the marriages are dissolved, and the women are then married off to an IS fighter who likewise has AIDS. They can also be offered for ransom or killed if they refuse to become Muslims.

Koran: Read Chapter Nine

Read chapter nine of the Koran. This is important. The text is easily available online. The website corpus.quran.com shows parallel translations and has a “word by word” breakdown and other features.

Why is chapter nine important? It is because this is the final and latest “revelation” allegedly given to Mohammed, which overrides everything elsewhere.

Some background explanation is needed. The Koran is not arranged chronologically. The chapters are placed with the longest first and the shortest last. Accordingly, the subject matter jumps all over the place, and makes the book very confusing. About one fifth of it does not make sense and has to be “interpreted”. The language is archaic: even Arabic speakers find it difficult. Most Muslims, though, are not Arabic speakers. They are, however, instructed how to read the script, and are required only to memorise it and recite it, an action that is highly esteemed. Not required to understand what they recite, they depend on their imams to explain what it says. Imams are thus in a considerable position of control, and have for years made use of various lies, for instance the “perfect preservation” of the text (as proclaimed by Yaser Qadhi), when Islam’s own trusted sources record many historic changes.

An important aspect of the Koran is that all of it forms part of Islamic law. This is no light matter: Islam is not Pick-Your-Own. Koran 33:36 explains:

“It is not for a believer, man or woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decreed a matter that they should have any option in their decision.”

Citing this verse, Dr. Salah as Sawy, who is Secretary General for the Assembly of Muslim Jurists in America (the Association of Lawyers for Sharia in America), gave this ruling:

“For things which have been stipulated in the texts of Islam, the Muslim community possesses no power except to acknowledge and obey…”

“Acknowledge and obey”: that is the instruction. Muslims have to submit. Islam means Submission. Submission, of course, is one end of a relationship. The real importance is in the other end — Control.


Syed Abul Al’a Maududi

“No one can regard any field of his affairs as personal and private”, wrote the revered scholar Maududi in his 1960 book The Islamic Law & Constitution. Islam is a system of control, “all-encompassing”, as Tariq Ramadan expressed it. “Islam Is The Perfect System For All Mankind”, announces a placard held by an unidentifiable niqab-clad Muslim woman.

Denying any verse of the Koran brings the death penalty. This may be carried out vigilante-style by anyone without legal repercussion, “since it is killing someone who deserves to die” (Manual of Islamic Law, Reliance of the Traveller, o8.4). In Islam your brother doubles as your executioner.

Abrogation

The text of the Koran contains statements which contradict each other. The way that Islamic teaching copes with this is by the doctrine of Abrogation. Under this doctrine the later revelation “abrogates” the earlier. For this it is necessary to know which chapters are later than which others. With chapter nine there is no problem. It is the latest complete chapter, and “abrogates” all previous texts that disagree with it. Esteemed scholar Sheikh Al-Shawkani (1759-1834) says:

“[The verses] about forgiving them [the unbelievers] are abrogated unanimously by the obligation of fighting in any case.”

The significance of chapter nine, the “Sura at Tawba”, is that it sets out Islam’s instruction of permanent hostility to non-Muslims, kafirs, involving their subjugation, extortion, or else killing. It also contains the justification for suicide bombing.

Airbrushing the English Out of Historical Existence

Last month Paul Weston recorded the first in a series of videos on the reign of London Mayor Sadiq Khan, who makes no attempt to conceal his loathing for the white English Christians he and his fellow culture-enrichers are in the process of supplanting.

Okay, I really wanted to talk about just how a man like Sadiq Khan could ever become an elected representative of an English city, and how he could possibly become the Chair of the C40 Cities scheme, a global network of one hundred city mayors who all promote the Green New World Order. Khans’ posturing with his Ultra Low Emission Zone, or ULEZ, is nothing to do with air quality and everything to do with totalitarian global government. Before I get onto that though, I need to finish what I started in my previous video, where I outlined his behaviour prior to becoming Mayor of London. This video is about his anti-English, pro-Islamic extremist behaviour after he became Mayor in 2016.

Now, every year in London an Al-Quds day march is held. This is an anti-Israel pro-Palestinian event held globally. And every year in London the Hezbollah flag is flown, despite the fact that Hezbollah is a genuine, heavily armed Islamic terrorist organisation proscribed in most parts of the world. In 2017, London Assembly member David Kurten, then in UKIP — and a great chap by the way — asked Mayor Khan why he allowed Hezbollah flags to be paraded through the streets of London. Khan replied it was not within his remit to ban Hezbollah, and that this was a matter for the Home Secretary alone. Kurten then suggested that that being the case, might not Khan consider writing to the Home Secretary voicing his concerns?

Khan replied, quite disgracefully, that there was nothing stopping Kurten writing to the Home Secretary, thereby implying that he, Khan, had no intention of doing so. When further pressed by Kurten, he stated he might read up on it and might consider doing something about it, possibly, at some point, or as Sir Humphrey Appleby might have put it “in the fullness of time, or at the appropriate juncture.”

Khan’s words and attitude suggests he has no intention of pressuring the Home Secretary whatsoever, so nothing further need be said about this, other than the clear, undeniable fact that Khan has no problem at all about genocidal militias proscribed across most of the world casually walking through the streets of London under the eyes of Khan’s Metropolitan Police, an outfit as useless as it is politicised.

In addition to this, Khan claims London was built by immigrants and desperately needs more of them, although I don’t suppose he means white ones or non-Muslim ones. He is upset, apparently, about the sheer number of annoyingly white men on the tube, although he neglected to mention if this only occurred at specific times of the day, such as rush hour for example.

Khan heavily promotes Black cultural events financed by his office yet wants to attack our culture and heritage via the toppling of our ancestors’ statues, the renaming of our streets and the decolonisation of our institutions. In other words, he wants to airbrush us out of historical existence.

Khan also supports the whole LGBT jamboree as well, which some might think odd considering Islam’s particular take on homosexuality. Khan is most probably practicing Taqiyya, one imagines, which is the Islamic art of deception. It is a matter of historical record that despite a spirited defence by Mayor Khan himself, Khan’s pet speechwriter was eventually sacked for publicly exposing his traditionally Islamic views on homosexuals and women in general, describing them on social media in terms not dissimilar to those utilised by popular rap-musicians such as Mr Ice-Tray and the mischievous Ditsy Rascal.

A Connoisseur’s Guide to the Stoning of Women

The following report is a reminder that diversity is our nation’s greatest strength. How fortunate we are to live in such a glorious mélange of different cultures that enrich our own!

This is true here in the USA, and it’s even more true of Modern Multicultural Britain. Take the example of Shaykh Zakaullah Saleem, who is the head imam of the Green Lane Masjid in the culturally enriched English city of Birmingham. A video of Imam Saleem’s recent Koranic instruction went viral last week, due to the hysterical overreaction of ignorant Islamophobes who failed to understand his nuanced explanation of the Koran’s instructions on the legal penalties for adultery.

A video of an imam lecturing an audience on how to stone a woman to death emerged on social media on Tuesday. The video is from Birmingham’s Green Lane Masjid that recently received £2.2 million (Rs 23.24 crore) from the British government to support young people across Birmingham.

In the video, Imam Shaykh Zakaullah Saleem can be heard telling the audience that the woman should be buried waist-deep in the ground before stoning.

“According to the Sharia (Islamic law), when it comes to women, there must a hole dug in the earth, in the ground; and she must be covered up to half of the body,” the imam said.

The video made rounds on X (formerly Twitter). Some users expressed doubts whether Zakaullah actually advocated the practice. However, another video of the same sermon shows the imam explaining to the audience that stoning to death is the punishment for ‘zina’ — and Islamic legal term for illicit sexual relations.

“The person who commits zina, according to the Islamic or the Sharia, whenever the Sharia is established, the punishment (for) the adulterer — man or woman — the punishment for them is, if they are married, then they will be stoned to death. If they are unmarried, they will be beaten with 100 lashes in front of a big Muslim gathering,” Zakaullah said.

The Reformation

The illustrious gentlemen in the photo above made the hijrah to Syria in the early days of the “Arab Spring” to volunteer for jihad in the path of Allah. It’s unlikely that they were motivated to do so for financial reasons — after all, the entity that eventually became known as the Islamic State was not renowned for paying its soldiers lavishly. Mind you, some of them may have been lured by the possibility of free chicks (and when the Yazidi and Christian communities were eventually overrun, they got their chance). However, we may presume that their primary motive was one of religious fervor. One thing that Islam is good at is ginning up fanatical zeal among its followers.

Fervent zeal is the product of reform within Islam, and that reformation has already occurred.

The current wave of Islamic zealotry may be traced to the formation of the Muslim Brotherhood (Al-Ikhwan al-Muslimeen) in 1928 in Egypt by Hassan al-Banna. The Brotherhood was formed to return Islam to its roots, but it was hardly the first such reform. Waves of fanaticism had occurred periodically before that, including the Sudanese Mahdiyya, which achieved notoriety in 1885 by slaughtering General Gordon in Khartoum.

Islam is prone to these periodic spasms of reformation due to the instructions laid down in its foundational texts. A righteous believer is required by those texts to fight against unbelievers and massacre or enslave all those who refuse to submit and convert to Islam. If he is killed while fighting jihad in the path of Allah, the believer is rewarded with access to the highest level of paradise, where he may partake of banquets and wine and lots more of those free chicks (or “young boys fresh as pearls”, according to his taste). If he survives the jihad, he may share the booty and slaves with his fellow mujahideen and enjoy the perquisites of the victor during his time here on Earth.

Most infidels don’t realize that when reform in Islam occurs, it looks exactly like what is commonly known as “Islamic extremism”. When Islam gets back to basics, it slits throats and subjugates women. It’s in the Koran! (See the Michael Copeland’s extensive compilations for more information about the scriptural basis for Islamic slaughter and brutality.)

I bring all this up because of insightful remarks made by a commenter named Jason on Friday’s post about reform in Islam:

There is a lot that can be said about reforming Islam, but there is one fact that most people seem to miss.

Islam is winning. You don’t reform winning strategies.

It is the losers that need to reform. That’s us.

He’s got a good point there. I’ve often said that the West is currently losing the struggle against the Great Jihad, not because Islam is more powerful or has superior strategies, but because we infidels have preemptively surrendered to it.

Since we have largely abandoned our Christianity, we have nothing left to fight back with. Once upon a time we responded to jihad by organizing the Crusades. Nowadays we heap up teddy bears and light candles.

When those who have a spiritual void within themselves go forth to do battle with righteous zealots, they will invariably lose, regardless of better technology or superior weaponry.

My intuition tells me that when the scimitar is at his throat, the average atheist will submit. It’s so easy just to say the shahada and go through the forms — that plus zakat is all that Islam requires. Yes, there are occasional atheists who are willing to put their lives on the line for their principles — Lars Vilks comes to mind — but they are rare.

Caucasophobia-on-Thames

Paul Weston’s latest video is the first part of an in-depth investigation of the esteemed culture-enriching mayor of London, Sadiq Khan:

London Mayor Sadiq Khan appears to be an Islamic fundamentalist with a burning hatred of England and the English. His office recently put out side-to-side photographs showing a wholesome looking English family strolling along the Thames riverbank with the caption “Not representative of Londoners.” Alongside this was one of Khan himself, surrounded by the sort of people he would like to see in place of hated old whitey, captioned “Positive and optimistic.”

In actual fact, Khan isn’t wrong about white families being non-representative of London; the English now account for only 45% of London’s population and are rapidly declining even as the positive and optimistic non-white demographic is rapidly growing. But Khan wasn’t talking about demographics and percentages; he simply doesn’t think England’s capital city should be represented by the English at all, period. The sooner we are air-brushed out of London, England and the entire world, the better.

In order to fully appreciate the virulent anti-white hatred here, try to imagine two photographs put out by Hitler’s 1930s Nazi regime, one showing a Jewish family in Berlin happily sauntering Spreeside, the other a photograph of Hitler himself surrounded by SS soldiers — and above both photographs the same captions utilised by Sadiq Khan, albeit with Berliners rather than Londoners.

If you think my mentioning Hitler in the same breath as Khan is an example of gross exaggeration and paranoia, I can only point out that Khan has gone well out of his way to help people with a distinct admiration for Adolf. The first is Louis Farrakhan, the black supremacist leader of the Nation of Islam who has repeatedly denounced white people as a race of devils who deserve to die. Farrakhan doesn’t like Jews much either. He describes them as Satanic and has repeatedly stated Hitler was a Great Man.

Farrakhan was barred from entering Britain in the early 2000’s after the British government described the Nation of Islam as a Hate Group. This annoyed Khan intensely, and as a purported human rights lawyer back in the day, he sought to overturn this government ban. I think it is fair to say Khan spent as much time and energy trying to get Farrakhan into Britain as he later did as mayor of London in trying to keep President Trump out.

After being embraced by the Labour Party, Khan tried to deny his role in the Farrakhan affair but according to Full Fact and numerous newspaper articles at the time, it is very much true. Khan’s admiration for Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam is hardly a one-off. Prior to his election as a Labour MP — he was sworn into British high office holding the Koran of course — Khan spent close to two decades intimately involved with white hating black supremacists and Islamic extremists.

In 2004 Khan was Chairman of the Muslim Council of Britain’s (MCB) legal affairs committee. Those in the know were already talking about the MCB as a front for the Muslim Brotherhood which seeks a global Islamic caliphate, but it took another five-years before the Labour government finally got around to recognising it as such and dropping it like a hot potato.

The Koran, Islam’s book, is “dripping with murderous levels of hatred”, as a critic put it. “Kill them,” it commands, of non-Muslims, kafirs, “Kill them wherever you find them.” (2:191, 9:5) “Between us [Muslims] and you enmity and hatred forever.” (60:4) “When you meet the kafirs strike the necks.” (47:4) Kafirs are “filthy” (9:28), “the vilest of beasts” (8:55), “a clear enemy to you” (4:101): “Do not take them as allies.” (4:89) “Let them find harshness in you” (9:123); “Fight the unbelievers until they pay the jizya [extortion tax] … in a state of subjection.” (9:29) Muslims are “the best of peoples raised up for mankind” (3:110), “merciful to each other, ruthless to the kafir.” (48:29)

These are not quaint Old-Testament-type exhortations from their historical time, like “Slaughter the Amalekites and Hittites.” The Koran, all of it, forms part of Islamic law. These are current instructions of Islamic law. “Muslims must kill kafirs wherever they are unless they convert.” said Ali Gomaa, the Grand Mufti of Egypt. “Islam says: kill all of the kafirs. Jihad stands for killing all kafirs. Prophet had sword to kill people,” thundered Ayatollah Khomeini. “Enmity and hate shall forever reign between us,” wrote Osama bin Laden. “Jews and Christians are filthy. Their lives and property can be taken by the Muslims in jihad,” preached Yasir Qadhi in Tennessee. “Allah, strike the Jews and… the Christians, Allah, count them and kill them to the last one” — Al-Aqsa TV (palwatch.org 2010-12-03).

The Koran is promoted as “valid from eternity to eternity,” explains Sam Solomon, a former professor of Islamic law. Its instructions are “universal and trans-time,” says Ahmed Saad, the imam of North London Central Mosque. “None may change his words,” says Koran 18:27. Denying any verse instantly makes a Muslim an apostate, one who has left Islam, a kafir. The punishment is death, with a sinister twist: the killing may be performed vigilante-style by anyone. There is no penalty, “since it is killing someone who deserves to die.” (Manual of Islamic Law, Reliance of the Traveller, o8.4) Islam is a tyranny held in place by fear. “If they had gotten rid of the punishment for apostasy Islam would not exist today”, said the famed scholar and broadcaster Yusuf al Qaradawi.

For kafirs the Koran is the Book of Kill Them, the Book of Enmity and Hatred. Islam is opposed to Christianity and Judaism, in fact all other religions, and atheism: in Saudi Arabia atheists are beheaded. Islam is much more than prayers: it is a system of governance, in Arabic a deen, with its own body of laws. “Islam is the perfect system for all mankind, Man-made laws go to Hell,” say the placards, “Ban Democracy, Implement Islam!, Islam will dominate.” Mullah Krekar explained, “Islam is not like Christianity. Our Islam is political.” Islam’s deen opposes democracy, and indeed any kind of governance other than Islamic. “Fight unbelievers”, says 8:39 “until all the deen is for Allah.” Islam has to dominate: it must be spread “by persuasion or by force” (Ibn Khaldun) to form a global Caliphate. “If anyone desire a deen other than Islam never will it be accepted of him,” says Koran 3:85.

Karlsruhe Judicial Failure

Hardened criminal Albanian is set free — because extradition to Great Britain is “inhumane”.

The Karlsruhe Higher Regional Court decided not to extradite a drug dealer wanted by Interpol to Great Britain because of prison conditions that allegedly violate human dignity. Instead, he was simply released in Germany.

An Albanian wanted by Interpol, who was actually supposed to be extradited to Great Britain, was released by German authorities. The reason: the Karlsruhe Higher Regional Court (OLG) found his extradition inadmissible in a judgment at the beginning of the year. This was reported by the legal online magazine LTO. According to the Higher Regional Court, it cannot be ruled out that the prisons in Great Britain might violate the European Convention on Human Rights.

The man was wanted on an arrest warrant issued by Westminster Magistrates Court. The police accused him of dealing in drugs on a large scale — five kilos of cocaine — in Great Britain and also laundering funds to the amount of €384,000. Interpol issued an international arrest warrant, red notice, against him after he traveled to Germany to visit his sick girlfriend. The German police temporarily arrested him on December 28, 2022, and he was taken into extradition custody.

Possible violation of the European Convention on Human Rights

His criminal defense lawyer Janssen, a lawyer from Freiburg, had studied partly in Glasgow and wrote his dissertation on the penal system in England, Wales and Scotland in national and international comparison — and was therefore also very familiar with the weaknesses of the British prison system. He argued that conditions in British prisons were simply inhumane. So you have to contend with constant overcrowding and staff shortages, which leads to violence among the inmates. In addition, some of the prisons date back to the 19th century Victorian era and the conditions are still the same: small, dark and poorly ventilated cells. [What about an oubliette or a guva? Would be a perfect place, in my humble opinion.]

The Karlsruhe Higher Regional Court took these concerns very seriously and, among other things, demanded a guarantee from the British side that the prisoner would not be taken to a prison whose conditions did not at least meet the minimum standards of the European Convention on Human Rights. The police department in Manchester replied by email at the last minute before the deadline — they could not offer any guarantees, nor what prison the Albanian would go to.

Last month my Bin Day was blessed with some half-decent weather and I was out tidying up the front garden and my compulsory edible weed patch when the ‘sanitary operatives’ came with their monochromatic prideless garbage truck. The next thing I noticed was how hard they grafted, running house to house, hefting heavy bins to the truck and then joyfully throwing the empties to the pavement in front of the houses without pausing. And then, suddenly, I realised that there was something about this scenario that made my blood to run cold and caused me to begin to question my senses — were they all horribly white males exercising their critical heterosexual cisgendered privileged patriarchateness in full view, or had I somehow slipped into a different, pre-enlightenment space-time continuum?

Confusing, to say the least, so I had to look again just to make sure I wasn’t dreaming. I wasn’t; there was not a single transgender bloke in a frock (complete with a small penis) amongst them! Nor could I see a BAME, a Stonewaller, a Mermaid, a rainbow-coloured unicorn, an OAP or a Drag Queen in falsies and suspenders throwing tampons dipped in tomato sauce at the two young children playing in their garden a few houses down from me.

Having sat down for a moment to regather my strength by consuming a 3D printed slug sandwich washed down with a refreshing draught of grasshopper milk, I phoned my local Thought Constabulary to report a whole series of hate crimes… sexism, racism, ageism, heterocolourphobism, breathing heavily, working hard with unpainted fingernails and engaged in a public demonstration of masculinity that I thought was a long-gone dark chapter in our nation’s history.

As is normal, the overworked heroes at our local Plodshop took over three hours to respond, but later called to apologise and explain that they had all been otherwise engaged either practising the Macarena or terrorising autistic children for not using correctspeak when referring to their Nanas.

Consequently, as all actions are said to have an equal and opposite reaction, I have decided to open a new type of welfare agency. Its name will be ‘Jobs for Deviants’ and it will offer employment entailing two hours light work a day for three days a week at the same generous salary as our National Death Service Diversity Managers, irrespective of personal pronouns.

A Bundle of Daffodils

I mentioned a few days ago that a good friend of mine has died. Her death has been very hard for me, but nothing like it has been for her husband, who was my college roommate. They had been together for almost fifty years.

She was the same age as me, so you can’t really say that she died before her time, but it still feels that way. It prompted me to dig out this poem by Michael Roberts, a between-the-wars British poet who died in 1948 at the tender age of 46, and is no longer well-known. He had a terminal illness, and wrote the poem when he knew the end was near.

A side note: he joined the Communist Party in the 1920s, but was expelled from it. That little biographical detail endears him to me.

His poem is light and humorous, a good one to be remembered for (raccourci means “shortcut” in French):
