Giorgia Meloni: “Christian Values Have Molded Our Civilization”

Giorgia Meloni is the leader of the anti-immigration party Fratelli d’Italia (Brothers of Italy) and a member of the Italian Chamber of Deputies. Her party looks likely to be the largest party in the coming elections, so she may well become prime minister under a new right-wing coalition government.

We’ve been following Ms. Meloni’s career closely in this space for the past six or seven years, so it’s gratifying to see her party doing so well. I’ve always found her to be a real firecracker — principled, uncompromising, and fearless.

The following video features remarks by Giorgia Meloni during a TV panel discussion. Many thanks to HeHa for the translation, and to Vlad Tepes and RAIR Foundation for the subtitling:

Giorgia Meloni Confronted by LGBTQ Activist

Giorgia Meloni, the leader of the anti-immigration party Fratelli d’Italia and likely the next Italian prime minister, has demonstrated that she is a class act. When she was confronted on stage at a campaign rally by an LGBTQ activist, she didn’t duck for cover and hurry off the stage while her bodyguards hustled the interloper away, which is what you would expect from most politicians. Instead she motioned to the bodyguards to hold back while she engaged the fellow calmly and respectfully.

Culture-Enriching Nightmare in Piacenza

Early last Sunday morning a 55-year-old female Ukrainian refugee was raped by an African culture-enricher on the street in the Italian city of Piacenza. Giorgia Meloni, who is the leader of Fratelli d’Italia and will likely be prime minister after next month’s elections, used a video of the attack in one of her campaign ads. By doing so she caused a storm of controversy, with critics accusing her of “electioneering” with the Ukrainian woman’s suffering — as if the horrific incident were something voters should remain unaware of.

The following video report provides details about the incident in Piacenza. Many thanks to HeHa for the translation, and to Vlad Tepes and RAIR Foundation for the subtitling:

For an English-language report on the controversy, see this article from The Daily Mail (hat tip Reader from Chicago).

A Naval Blockade to Keep the Invaders Out of Italy?

Giorgia Meloni — who may very well be the next Italian prime minister — has proposed a naval blockade of Italy to stop the migrants, thereby causing great consternation among the bien-pensants.

Many thanks to Gary Fouse for translating this article from the Fratelli d’Italia website:

Elections, Rauti: Naval Blockade is not an act of war; the EU proposed it in 2017

August 8, 2022

“The polemics of the past few days over the proposal from Giorgia Meloni for the introduction of a naval blockade to stop the flow of migrants is false and specious. In fact, we forget that it was the European Union itself that proposed it in 2017 with the clear intent to stop the arrivals from the coast of Libya. The naval blockade is not an act of war, rather the result of an agreement with coastal authorities from where the migrants come with the purpose of stopping the boats at departure, also a controlled management of the hotspots [high Covid areas].”

That is what deputy vice president of the Fratelli d’Italia [Brothers of Italy] Senate group Isabella Rauti stated during a Sky TV24 Start broadcast.
