I’ve often said in this space that Islam is not a religion, but a totalitarian political system with a quasi-religious superstructure. In the following essay Michael Copeland cites authoritative sources to support this thesis.

Islam is Government

Islam is government. This sober reality is so important that it deserves to be repeated, with no distractions:

Islam is government.

Culpably and very reprehensibly, Western leaders fail to warn the public of this serious concern, and persist in treating Islam as a matter only of worship. Islam, though, is emphatically NOT restricted to worship. It concerns very public matters — territory, criminal law, punishments, marital law, restrictions on speech, second-class status for non-Muslims, rules of dress, diet and fasting — inflicted on all — and a host of other details. More than that, it contains the built-in command that it be imposed over everyone — by force if needed. The imperative is that it must displace all other systems. Our politicians have given us no inkling of this, and very probably have no inkling themselves.

Islam is a system

“Islam is the perfect system for all mankind”, says the placard. “System” here means system of rules, of laws, namely, government. The system is, in Tariq Ramadan’s favoured phrase, “all-encompassing”, that is to say, totalitarian. Though billed as “a” total system there is no choice available. Islam is THE ONLY system permitted: “If anyone desire” [a system] “other than Islam never will it be accepted of him”, says Koran 3:85, part of Islamic law. Islam’s system is neither inclusive nor tolerant:

“My religion doesn’t tolerate other religion. It doesn’t tolerate”, … “The only one law …anywhere… has to be Islam”,

says the cleric Abu Bakr, in Australia. Membership is compulsory. There is no private conscience in Islam. The Egyptian sheikh Yassir al-Burhani makes this clear in an interview:

“…is it the right of the Muslim to convert to Christianity or another religion?”

“Of course this is not a right.”

For anyone who leaves Islam the penalty is death: leaving is treated as treason against the government. Any vigilante can perform the killing: there is no penalty, “since it is killing someone who deserves to die” (Manual of Islamic Law, Reliance of the Traveller, o8.4).

The revered 20th-century Pakistani scholar Maududi explains:

“Islam is not a ‘religion’ in the sense this term is commonly understood. It is a system encompassing all fields of living. Islam means politics, economics, legislation, science, humanism, health, psychology and sociology. No one can regard any field of his affairs as personal and private. The Islamic State bears a kind of resemblance to the Fascist and Communist states.”

Islam, the system, has a prayer component which makes it also a religion, and the two are inseparably conjoined. In Mohammed’s day the leader ruled through the mosque: there was no distinction between mosque and state. The threat of everlasting divine hellfire is what gave the law its power. Islam has not undergone change since. It continues to meld the two together in one. Scholar Dr. J.S. Idris of Sudan confirms,

“Separation of mosque and state is not an option.”

Islam’s system is a rival system

Islam has no use for man-made legislation: its laws, Sharia, are already established and unchangeable, and have to be enforced.

Dr. Ijaz Mian in Derby, UK, told his mosque listeners:

“… you have to live like a state-within-a-state — until you take over. There will be no House of Commons.”

Islam also has no use for nation states:

“The Muslim nation is one nation, to the exclusion of all others”,

reads the placard in an Oxford Street pro-Sharia march (ThinkAfricaPress at 0.31).

It is through the mosques that Islam administers its government.

Islam’s system is hostile to the West

The Islamic system of government, as applied in mosques, is hostile to Western laws. It is instructed as intrinsically superior to them, being not man-made, but from Allah. The Islamic system has no room for any other system. Democracy, monarchy, republic, communism, all must be made to yield to the Global Caliphate under Islam. Muslims are under a duty to impose Islam’s system, Sharia, on non-Muslims. Hear what spokesmen say:

• “It is a duty incumbent on every Muslim to struggle towards the aim of making every people Muslim and the whole world Islamic.” — Hassan al Banna (www.watson37).
• “Islam must dominate, and not be dominated.” — Hassan al Banna.
• “If we are practicing Muslims we are above the law of the land.” — Mustafa Carroll of CAIR Texas.
• “Man-made law go to Hell!” — Al Muhajiroun.
• “Democracy go to Hell!” — placard.
• “Queen and Country go to Hell!” — Al Muhajiroun.
• “Burn, burn, USA!” — Choudary and companions.
• “I must have allegiance to where the Sharia says I must have allegiance ….If we have enough… power we are obliged as Muslims to implement the Sharia.” — Choudary.
• “The Islamic movement can and must take power as soon as it is morally strong enough … to destroy the non-Islamic power.” — Alija Izetbegovic

Western leaders, apart from Geert Wilders, have failed to sound warnings about this state of enmity. Worse still, they parrot the false narrative that Islam is peace.

Mosque is the place of war

The mosque is the meeting place (with compulsory attendance) where sentences are passed, troops sent out, and where arms are stored. Ayatollah Khomeini said it:

“Out of the mosques wars should proceed. Mosque is the place of war.”

In Islam’s worldview the West is Dar al Harb, “Realm of War”. The mosque is a political statement of claim over territory. It is an indoctrination centre where jihad — “struggle” — with weapons is promoted — “We teach how to stab” (www.islam-watch.org) — and where watch is kept over members, to make sure they, and their daughters, are in line. It is a centre for news of under-age sex-slaves for hire. It is a court of law, a school, a training-place for troops, and an assembly place for prayers, all in one. Non-Muslims are not permitted at the sermons.

The Arabic word “deen” is used of the regime that mosques administer, and is frequently, but inadequately, translated as “religion”. The Koran commands Muslims to fight non-Muslims until the “deen” is “all for Allah”, that is, Islam. Translating “deen” as “worship”, as many Muslim translators do, is more than just inadequate: it is deceptive. Deception, though, of non-Muslims is authorised by Islam’s doctrine of taqiyya, sacralised lying. “Deen” is governance, regime: Islam is government.

Conquer and destroy

Islam’s system of government is not only opposed to Western governance and hostile to it, but, crucially, commands Muslims to impose it “by persuasion or by force”, as Ibn Khaldun wrote, to make Islam dominate. Maududi expresses the agenda well:

“Islam wishes to destroy all states and governments anywhere on the face of the earth which are opposed to the ideology and program of Islam.

“Eliminate the un-Islamic system… establish Islamic state rule.”

Abu Hafs al Masri, of the Madrid train bombings, explained, “We change and destroy countries.”

Mohammed Mahdi Akef of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt proclaimed:

“Islam will invade Europe and America, smashing Western civilisation and replacing it with Islam.”

The Brotherhood’s own “Internal Memorandum” for North America names its goal as:

“…destroying the Western civilisation from within…”

Sayyid Qutb expressed it forcefully:

“Islam has the right to destroy all obstacles [to Islam].”

Islam uses force. Osama bin Laden set it out years ago, but no politician took it seriously:

“Does Islam or does it not force people by the power of the sword to submit? Yes!”

Consider also these proclamations:

• “Islam will return to Europe as a conqueror and victor.” — Yusuf al Qaradawi, veteran adviser to the Muslim Brotherhood.
• “We shall conquer their countries, whether they like it or not.” — Sheikh Muhammad Ayed, in Al Aqsa Mosque.
• “We are coming. to regain our land and purify it of the unbelievers.” — Fouad Belkacem, of Sharia4Belgium.
• “Europe must be invaded… Jihad demands the conquest of Europe!” — Imam Monzer Abdullah, Hizb ut-Tahrir, Denmark July 23, 2017.
• “Muslims will destroy the crusade”, says the placard, where “crusade” stands for the Christian world.
• “The answer is, as the Prophet said, to fight the infidels until the religion belongs to Allah.” — Musa Cerantonio, Australia.

Quasi-military

Obedience is expected: the word Islam means Submission, which is a code word for Control. Islam is a quasi-military organisation:

“The mosques are our barracks, …the faithful our soldiers”, declaimed the politician Recep Tayyip Erdogan, now an increasingly hostile President of Turkey. One of the London 7/7 bombers, Mohammed Sidique Khan, insisted, “I am a soldier and we are at war.”

The Soldiers of Allah are training to take over, and have already established no-go zones where Islamic law is imposed by force. The media refer to these lamely as “parallel societies”.

No. Not parallel. They are set on a collision course.
