The guns have moved. They are no longer up close, but at some distance away. It seems that Gaza is succumbing — if so, that is good news.
We are also getting some information as to what went wrong on the days leading up to 7th October. If the source is reliable, and I have no reason to believe anything else, then the US taxpayers paid for the blinding of Israeli intelligence (as well as their own).
Yet another case where there is a Brandon snafu.
Islam is a harsh enemy, a venomous spider that hides in well-used places and comes out of the woodwork biting and stinging when least expected. I don’t think October 7th will prove to be unique. Any place which thinks itself safe for being a ‘gun free zone’ should think again.
That is most of Europe, and much of Asia.
I think we have to look at what happened at Kibbutz Nir Am:
Security coordinator
In December 2022, the kibbutz appointed Inbal Rabin-Lieberman as its coordinator of military security. Her duties included helping the security of the kibbutz residents in critical situations until reinforcements from the police or the army could arrive. Before her appointment, the position was held by her uncle Ami Rabin. Rabin-Lieberman became the first woman in the kibbutz to hold such a position. After the appointment, she received congratulations from Ofir Libstein, the head of the regional council of Shaar Ha-Negev.
October 2023 Israel-Hamas war
On October 7, 2023, Rabin-Lieberman heard unusual noises near the kibbutz. She correctly assessed the significance of the threat and quickly distributed weapons among the 12 members of the “quick response group” created from the inhabitants of the village, including her uncle Ami Rabin. To do this, she ran between houses, organizing men in different ambushes around the perimeter of the kibbutz and developed a plan to protect the settlement.
Rabin-Lieberman and her fellow citizens held their positions for three hours. They killed 25
militantsterrorists before the IDF arrived.She evacuated with other residents and stayed in a hotel in Tel Aviv. On October 9, she celebrated her birthday, on which Mayor Ron Huldai passed by to congratulate her.
Referring to terrorists as ‘militants’ is part of the problem that Western civilization has with Islam. In their astoundingly naïve ignorance they believe that Islam is a religion of peace, and that Hamas has been kept ‘bottled up’ in Gaza because Israel has ‘occupied’ their land.
The truth is that Gazans are bottled up in Gaza by both Egypt and Israel because they have a tendency to behave like wild animals, and will attack and kill without provocation.
Gaza is the ultimate endpoint of the leftist entitlement culture. It is what will eventually happen in those blue cities that defund their police and believe that aid (welfare handouts) will keep the peace, no matter what.
Gazans believe that they are entitled solely because they are Muslims. There is no morality in Islam; the ends (of Islam) justify the means, and milking the infidel is part of that culture. Only Muslims have rights. Infidels are there to be exploited, and preferably killed en masse.
You cannot treat with Islam or hold a contract. There is no culture of honesty in dealings with the infidel, only deceit. The religion of peace is actually a religion of war, occupation and exploitation.

But you will notice that nothing much has changed. 500 years later, the Hamas bloodlust is fully intact and still the enemy of us all, including those gays and students who so worship their own ignorance.
Europe, too, wonders why it has a problem. It welcomes Muslims and treats them with all courtesy, and then wonders why they turn around and bites the hand that feeds them. That is because Islam teaches them that they are entitled to all that the infidel owns as loot, including his wife and his daughters…

Inbal at the Kibbutz knew the risk, and she acted accordingly. I would have been massacred. I am unarmed, not by my own choice, but because rabid leftists don’t trust me, and slovenly conservatives expended a lot of hot air and did nothing.
The Nuremburg laws in 1935 disarmed all Jews, and basically limited firearms to members of the Nazi party. So the Jews of Germany were ripe for the slaughter. One would have thought Israel would have known better, but Israelis, too, can be blind. However, if, as a government, you disrespect the people, then they in turn will disrespect you the politician. The fence was supposed to protect us, to be the impenetrable barrier that meant we could all live in unarmed peace. It did not work, but the well-armed kibbutz worked very nicely.

Inbal was the Civilian Security Coordinator of the Civilian Emergency Squad at the Nir-Am kibbutz which is only a few hundred yards from the Gazan terrorist encampment. Gaza exists because Egypt, Jordan keep the Egyptians, and Jordanians who fled Israel during the 1948 attempt by their governments to kill off the newly formed Jewish state.

Not to be [too] argumentative, but the Israelis (and US Jews) I know are much too civilized to consider keeping and bearing arms for self-defense. They view aggression as the mark of the unsophisticated. I think that’s because the “bad” Mohammedanists’re afraid of guns. Otherwise, I see little difference between those who shoot Jews (and other infidels) and those who ACTIVELY choose not to stop them.

London gets ruled by a muslim (wait, that’s already happened). Norway, Sweden, Germany, Spain, Belgium, Holland. Catholicism survives only in Latin America, completely disappearing from Europe. The Pope is crucified by the savages and replaced by an ayatollah in Vatican city. Atheism as a religion disappears from the Anglo-Saxon countries, replaced by islam. And we are witnessing it.
What can be done at this point? Concretely, for any individual in the West?

No, M.C., it’s not a snafu. It’s intended. The Obama/Biden policy is for Iran to be a regional hegemon, which requires that Iran have nuclear weapons to offset Israel’s. With all that implies.
It’s why the US is interrupting small arms shipments to Israel when Israel has decided that more of its citizens should be armed.
The US has and arms stockpile in Israel since the Yom Kippur War; it is now “vast but little known”*. The US has been drawing it down to resupply Ukraine, and is using the threat of limiting Israel’s access to the stockpile to limit Israel’s military options.
Obama recently spoke out on the 10/7 jihad attacks; in it he deplored the attack, and then said . . .“what is also true is that the occupation and what’s happening to Palestinians is unbearable.”

The simplest answer is that it was a holiday and no one was thinking about security. Everyone had their Sabbath meals prepared, laid out, and then slept in. Everyone in the security forces who could put in for leave. All those left resolved to do as little as possible. In short, everyone was relaxed and not paying attention.
