Revolting: This woman celebrated, according to her own statements, the Hamas massacres in Israel: “This is good, very good.”
The following article and video report on official efforts to track down and punish a Muslima in the German city of Hamburg who expressed her support for and celebration of Hamas in a media interview.
As an American, I consider it anathema to suppress people who state their support of this or that repugnant political movement. Isn’t it better to find out who holds disgusting opinions? Besides, it is the very essence of freedom of speech that even appalling sentiments are protected from sanction by the state.
But that’s the way an American thinks, not the way a German thinks.

Police are looking for woman who celebrated Hamas murders
Hamburg — The statements are so loathsome that they make your blood boil.
A woman — obviously a Muslim — gave a statement to an NDR camera team near the Steindamm at Hamburg’s main train station.
“This is good, very good. I am happy that they (Hamas terrorists) accomplished such a thing. We celebrated at home.”
And as she says this, she laughs and grins. She couldn’t get any more contemptuous. Other respondents with migration backgrounds uttered similar sentiments in front of a rolling camera.
What will politicians do so that these kinds of things will NOT happen on our streets anymore?
Apart from appeals and assertions (“We stand on the side of Israel”), unfortunately not a lot.
Hamburg’s minister of the interior Andy Grote (56, SPD): “Whoever willingly advocates and endorses this kind of contemptuous and complete lack of humanity type of barbarian behavior by Hamas or is excited about this, there is no tolerance in our society for these people. The cheering and celebrating of the massacre of Jews by Hamas is unbearable, and there is no room for it on our streets. We will therefore proceed consequently with appropriate actions. Authorities will exhaust all legal latitudes for future assembly applications.”
The department of security at the State office of criminal investigation is investigating the woman on suspicion of sedition and hate speech. It is not yet clear if the woman has yet been identified.
Sedition means: A person will be indictable under it if a he or she openly call for hate or acts of violence, against strangers, against people of different skin color or people who have different political opinions. The degree of penalty lies somewhere between monetary penalties and five years in prison.
Additionally: Also “endorsement and approval of such criminal acts” is legally indictable under §140. It is against the law to endorse or approve of criminal acts such as murder, manslaughter, rape or hostage-taking. The sentence: monetary fine and up to three years in prison.
The risk that there will be more Israel— and antisemitic outbreaks, is high. The police in Hamburg expect protests in solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza across all mosques in Hamburg Steindamm.

#NDR has asked Muslims their opinions about #Israel in Hamburg. The answers of the interviewees show reactions from ducking away all the way to outright contempt for humanity. This has nothing in common with Constitutional rights and raison d’état. Shocking. But I also know many Muslims who clearly condemn #Hamas-terrorism.
Personnel are now being mobilized in force to quash any turmoil and protests.
One demonstration has already been announced on Heidi-Kabel-Platz in Hamburg. The police have prohibited it from taking place. But: Courts tend to value the freedom of expression over police action.
However: “Should any crime be committed, we will immediately intervene,” say Hamburg police. The force has even employed translators to mingle, in case there is hate-speech in Arabic.
Dennis Thering (39), chairman of Hamburg CDU faction: “Sympathetic statements for the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas are simply disgusting. It is good that the state security agency is investigating. One thing is clear: Whoever celebrates the murder of innocent babies, children, women and men, has no place in our country. Those who glorify and glamorize terrorism must be deported without any question!”
Hamburg’s FDP boss Sonja Jacobsen (51): “The senate needs to act fast now and utilize all resources in order to cancel the planned pro-Palestinian rally. There is no evidence that the organizers have distanced themselves from Hamas’ terror. I therefore find it absolutely impossible to let a demonstration of friends of terrorism happen out in the open, in the heart of the ‘Hansestadt’ Hamburg.”
Dirk Kienscherf (57), chairman of the SPD faction Hamburg: “Racist demagoguery and incitement of the masses will not be tolerated in Hamburg. It is absolutely correct that the Hamburg police immediately check on the legal relevance of such statements.”
Jennifer Jasberg (40), co-faction chairwoman of the Green Party: “The statements in said interview have shocked us all to the core. We have to prevent an escalation of violence coming from Hamas from also infecting our peaceful solidarity.”

I’m sure the man is right–that every true Muslim wants to destroy Israel. I also think that every true Muslim wants to kill Jews. Someone (whose name I can’t remember) who was raised in Cairo said that there is a saying there: “First the Saturday people and then the Sunday people.” She says that everyone knew what that meant: First we deal with the Jews, then the Christians.
As readers of this site probably know, so-called “moderate” Muslims don’t have a theological leg to stand on. Islam is not moderate.

You’re quite correct about that saying regarding the “Saturday people” and “Sunday people,” meaning Jews and Christians respectively. The Koran accords a special place for the former, who are even mentioned as targets by name!

That is the point exactly. Freedoms like freedom of speech is a good thing among civilized people. But when a group who worships hate uses freedoms to propagate hate and support killing and will not change, then these people need to be ejected from freedom loving countries. And when push comes to shove the moderate Muslims will kill Jews and Christians too. There are no “innocent/moderate” Muslims living in Gaza. The moral to all this is that it’s time for nations to deal with the Muslims, not as a religious community but as a political one, and as a belligerent community at that.

It is very much like it was in Iraq where the US experiment in democratization of a Muslim country has not only plunged the country in question in a bloody anarchy and abject poverty, making the situation for its entire population much worse than it was under Saddam (and thus resulting in a massive migration of Iraqis to Europe), but also resulted in a near disappearance of the Iraqi Christian community. A great number of Christians there were brutally murdered by Muslim extremists and the rest had to flee. Only a small number of Christians too poor to pay for a ticket after the hell of the newly democratized Iraq remain and lead a twilight existence, oppressed and intimidated by their Muslim countrymen and forgotten by the outside world.
Why does no Western power spare a thought for the Christians of the Middle East whose suffering has been exacerbated by the US and its allies meddling in the affairs of the region? Why do we not hear the voice of Western human rights activists on behalf of Palestinian, Iraqi or Syrian Christians?
Has Biden or Macron or the Hindu PM of Great Britain ever shown any concern for the plight of the ancient Christian community of the Middle East? Even the Pope does not seem to take their problems to heart.
Why so? Are Christians considered “subhuman” nowadays? Do Western rulers, media, NGOs regard them as “human animals” whose disappearance would be rather welcome?
My heart bleeds for both the Christian and the Jewish communities who have to face the onslaught of Islam.

No, I’m not British. I lived in England during my secondary school years, so I have an affinity for things British.
