Éric Zemmour: “Islam is a Totalitarian Religion”

In the following clip from his recent appearance on television, the popular French commentator and former presidential candidate Éric Zemmour describes the ideological framework that supports the worldview of Islam.

Video transcript:

00:00   I don’t think that what we have lived through since 2012, since Mohammed Merah’s [murders],
00:05   since Charlie Hebdo [massacre] in 2015, since the Bataclan [massacre],
00:08   the slaughter of Samuel Paty, the slaughter of priests in their churches
00:16   or of the police in their police stations. I don’t think that’s terrorism; I think it’s jihadism.
00:22   Jihad is the conquest of a territory by Islam, by violent means, prescribed by the Qur’an.
00:31   Everything in this regard is written in the Qur’an, which orders Muslims
00:37   to conquer territories to Islamize populations and the entire world.
00:40   This is the goal of Islam and of the Qur’an.
00:43   In this case, there are people who attack populations of infidels
00:52   to turn them into subjects of Allah.
00:59   Islam functions according to a binary framework:
01:04   there is what they call the Dar al-Islam and the Dar al-Harb,
01:08   that is, the world of Islam and the world of war.
01:11   And Dar al-Salam.
01:14   Yes, Dar al-Islam is the same thing. Dar al-Salam is the world of peace.
01:17   But it is the world of Islam, because we have peace only when we are converted
01:21   and have submitted to Islam and submitted to God. It’s the same thing:
01:24   Islam means submission and it has the same roots as Salam. Because we don’t have peace,
01:29   except through submission. Islam, I think, is a totalitarian religion.
01:33   That is, it takes all the components
01:36   of human existence into account. It does not know the individual,
01:40   and it considers that we are liberated through submission to God.

Monsieur Zemmor is at alll not wrong about Islam, but there is more than can be said.

When most westerners, especially the secular ones, think of religion they think of something they have seen in their own cultures and societies, i.e., Christianity, Judaism, perhaps also Hinduism and Buddhism. And quite naturally, since most of them lack the insight and knowledge to understand Islam properly, they tend to lump it in with the other religions. And as the readers of this website know, that is a big mistake.

Islam can be properly described as a totalitarian way of life and a highly-effective system of conquest, disguised as a religion.

Islam is totalitarian, not just in the sense of theocratic and dictatorial regimes, but also in the sense that there is virtually no part of a believer’s life that is not touched or influenced in some manner by it. Virtually everything a Muslim does is influenced or guided by his faith, by sharia law, or both.

In this sense, free will as westerners and other non-Muslims understand it, is anathema to those inhabiting Dar al-Islam, the “House of Islam.” Likewise, there is no real analog to the western notion of liberty or freedom. The Arabic word most-closely corresponding to “freedom” is typically said to be “hurriya,” but this is false for the term does not correspond to “liberty” or “freedom”in the sense that an American, for example, would understand it. It instead means “freedom” to do as “Allah wills” for that individual.

Many traditional religious faiths and systems have laws or codes of law which attach to them. What makes sharia (Islamic) law unique, however, is that in theory it applies not only to Muslims, but to non-Muslims as well. At least that is what the Koran, the Hadith and the Sira command.

Non-Muslims or kafirs ~ also known as infidels ~ are denied the most-basic of human rights under Islamic suzerainty. They are most often akin to slaves, serfs or supplicants, and even those non-Muslim dhimmis who serve a useful purpose to the sultan or caliph and survive on that basis, are still treated with inhuman brutality and can be beaten or slain at the whim of any Muslim male.

Most westerners are familiar with the history of slavery, but how many know that Muslims have been the greatest slavers in history? Which is to say, the most-prolific takers, buyers and sellers of slaves in history. Even today, in many parts of the Islamic world, the Arabic word for slave, “Abd,” is synonymous with the slang or informal word for a black man.

And although the Muslims took many millions of black Africans as slaves, they likewise took many millions of Europeans and other peoples as slaves from temperate climates further north, venturing as far north as Ireland and Iceland on slave-taking raids.

As some of your readers may know, the very first war fought by the United States as an independent nation was the Barbary War of 1801-1805 (with a brief flare-up in 1815), fought against Islamic raiders and pirates off the coast of North Africa. These nautical jihadists had been seizing American shipping and holding the passengers and cargo for ransom. President Thomas Jefferson grew tired of their demands and sent the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps to Tripoli to teach them a lesson.

Various Islamic potentates, rulers and warlords have infamously slain infidels by the multitudes down through the centuries. According to the work of historians and political scientists who have studied such phenomena, the greatest or largest single genocide in human history was committed by the Islamic Mughal Empire in what is now the Indian sub-continent over a period of years in the 15th century.

During that time, an estimated 270 million Hindus and other non-Muslims were put to the sword. So many were slain that the streets ran with blood and giant pyramids of human skulls were erected by the soldiers of Allah. Of course, many other empires and nations have committed acts of genocide, but such wanton bloodletting is impressive even by the standards of the worst tyrants of the 20th century ~ who had modern industrial warfare and weapons at their disposal but did not manage to even approach the totals of the Mughal Empire.

Historians consider the Armenian genocide (1915-1921) to be the first “modern” genocide since it was the first such atrocity which was recorded by still and motion-picture photography. The Sunni Muslim Ottoman Empire in what is now modern day Turkey were responsible for it and even today, under the government of Recep Erdogan, the president of Turkey, it is still a crime to speak or write of the extermination of the Armenians and Greeks, most of whom were Christians.

Anyone who has seen the haunting photos of young girls, Christian virgins, crucified by their captors and slowly dying in the hot sun in the desert, will never forget them….

These basic historical facts about Islam used to be widely known and taught across the West, but they have been politely airbrushed out of our history in recent decades, and now few people know of them …. or the danger presented by the soldiers of Allah.

  2. Excellent analysis and exposure of the history and goal of Islam. I’m in the UK and criticism of Islam is a social taboo. People turn away in case they see the atrocities and turn a deaf ear to the jihadis proclamations of world caliphate to come.
Millions will die and yet the jihad will continue as various Islamic factions fight for supremacy. How China and Russia will react is still unknown. But God help today’s generation, protesting against Israel and crowing for their own destruction in the process. Tragic and desperate times ahead. Best Wishes.

  3. @fredthreethreethree –

Today, it is common to read/hear multicultural platitudes extolling the virtues of Islam as “one of the world’s great monotheistic religions,” or praising it along similar lines.

However, seventy-five or more years ago, it was all but unheard of to experience anything similar.

Islam was seen as being off on its own and fundamentally different from the other religious traditions and practices. Many eminent leaders and scholars spoke and wrote of Islam as being a “creed” or a “faith,” but few likened it to a religion in the way that Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism and Hinduism are religions. It’s militant and aggressive nature vis-a-vis the West or Christendom as it was then called, was a matter of common knowledge.

Some authorities may have even used the same descriptor as you have, likening it to a cult rather than even terming it a religion.

It is germane to note that one of the reasons those pushing the “Great Replacement” now underway in Europe, took such great pains to cripple Christianity in the West, to turn many Europeans into secular people. It is because that in a very real sense Christianity has been the sword-and-shield of Old Europe for over a thousand years. It’s foremost defense against the implacable Moors, Saracens, Arabs, Mongols and Turks who assaulted Europe from virtually all points of the compass over the centuries.

It is no accident that today’s secular Europe is finding itself increasingly defenseless against the invaders.

    • “Some authorities may have even used the same descriptor as you have, likening it to a cult rather than even terming it a religion.”

The principal difference between a religion—any religion—and a cult is that a religion’s core ethos is consistent with basic mainstream standards for human dignity. Leaders of cults dictate all aspects of followers’ lives. Followers’re personally monitored to ensure they’re following guidelines.

      This’s not rocket science: MOHAMMEDANISM’S A CULT.
