Video transcript:
00:11 | Good morning to everybody. Ladies and gentlemen!
00:15 | Dear American friends and conservatives gathering here from all around the world,
00:23 | I welcome the defenders of the free world to Budapest.
00:29 | We thank you for the opportunity of being here together.
00:34 | Here I see colleagues, people I have special respect for.
00:42 | The President of Georgia is here with us.
00:50 | From him we can learn how to live in the shadow of Russia
00:58 | while keeping one’s country and preserving peace.
01:03 | Today he is in possession of the most valuable knowledge in all of Europe.
01:07 | We wish you much success!
01:15 | And here with us is my friend Mr. Babiš,
01:19 | whose premiership was a time of resounding Czech-Hungarian friendship.
01:26 | Together at European Council meetings we would fight long into the night.
01:36 | I have to admit that he is a greater fighter than I am.
01:41 | He would still be standing his ground at 4 in the morning.
01:44 | And I confess that if he had not been there when we had to decide on migration,
01:49 | we might not have been able to prevent other leaders
01:54 | in the European Council from flooding Europe with migrants.
02:00 | And here is with us… President Klaus is here with us, too.
02:09 | He does not like to hear us say it, but the truth will out,
02:13 | and I have to say that he is probably the wisest leader in Europe today.
02:17 | If anyone is faced with a difficult decision,
02:21 | I can only advise them to make sure they ask his opinion.
02:25 | This also shows that the Czechs are well-endowed with intellectual strength.
02:29 | I do not understand why they are not at the very forefront
02:35 | of Europe, but I hope that we will see that eventually.
02:41 | And here with us we have my colleague Prime Minister Janez Jansa,
02:46 | whom we simply call the highest-ranking officer.
02:51 | It was a long time ago, so only old people like me remember,
02:57 | but he played an important role
03:02 | in ensuring that Slovenia emerged from Yugoslavia
03:07 | and gained its national independence with the least possible sacrifice.
03:10 | He has been prime minister several times.
03:13 | He is the great comeback specialist, my role model,
03:16 | a man who never gives up and never loses his composure.
03:22 | I’ll give you a tip about him:
03:27 | The quieter he talks, the more important the things he is saying.
03:38 | If you have formed a good habit, keep it;
03:41 | because those who have good habits will be happier and more successful in life.
03:47 | It has become a good habit for the conservative world to flock to Budapest in the spring.
03:54 | In other words, when it is spring in Budapest,
03:58 | it is time to calibrate your compass and set your watch.
04:01 | A good habit can become a tradition.
04:05 | Budapest always welcomes you — please come again next year!
04:09 | As I was preparing for today’s event, I thought back to how we got here:
04:17 | Why CPAC comes to Budapest.
04:22 | There are CPACs in the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Israel and Japan.
04:29 | And there is a CPAC in Hungary. Not bad company to be in.
04:34 | But how did Hungarians manage to gain entry to such a prestigious club?
04:39 | We are not huge, we are not intimidating, we are not rich.
04:46 | We do not have a big army, we do not have a huge GDP, or a particularly large population.
04:54 | Who would be interested in us? Yet here we all are today.
05:00 | I think there is only one reason we are in this elite club.
05:08 | There is one thing that makes our country an important place:
05:14 | the fact that Hungary is an incubator,
05:20 | where experiments are being conducted for the conservative politics of the future.
05:24 | Hungary is the place where we not only talked about defeating progressive liberals
05:31 | and turning in a conservative Christian political direction, but we have actually done it.
05:45 | Dear guests, It all started in 2010.
05:51 | There is a Hungarian saying: “Where need is great, help is nearby”
05:56 | “Where there is poison, there is a remedy.”
06:00 | My friends, it is hard to imagine a country in a worse situation
06:05 | than Hungary was in 2010, when we returned to
06:09 | government after eight years [in opposition].
06:13 | I remember that the question then was whether conservative policies
06:20 | could restore a country bankrupted by liberals who had run amok.
06:27 | We thought then that if it could be done here, it could be done anywhere.
06:34 | After New York, it was also true for Budapest:
06:38 | “If you can make it there, you can make it everywhere.”
06:43 | The experiment has succeeded, and we are the proof that only conservative policies
06:50 | can help in those places where the liberals, the leftists, have wrecked a country.
06:57 | And the Hungarian success story has continued ever since: full employment, record levels
07:05 | of investment, flat tax, 40 percent fewer abortions, the best public safety in Europe,
07:12 | migration under control and a strong national identity.
07:18 | My dear friends, part of the truth, however, is that although
07:24 | Hungarian success shone brightly in 2010, as shown by our
07:29 | re-election with a two-thirds majority in 2014,
07:33 | it was of no interest to anyone in the world until 2015.
07:36 | As the Hungarians say, not even the dogs were interested.
07:40 | It had remained our secret.
07:44 | We were not famous at all. We simply lived better and happier than earlier.
07:52 | Perhaps you can understand me when I say that I sometimes yearn for the days
07:58 | when we were not in the limelight.
08:02 | But nothing can be done about that: Man proposes, God disposes.
08:08 | In fact, the Hungarian experiment owes its worldwide fame to George Soros.
08:15 | Indeed God moves in a mysterious way.
08:19 | If George Soros had not attacked Hungary, if he had not announced his program
08:26 | to resettle millions of illegal immigrants in Europe with the help of his mercenary NGOs,
08:34 | we would never have made it onto the world’s front pages.
08:40 | But Uncle Georgie announced his resettlement program. He mobilized his NGO army
08:49 | and set about implementing his grand plan.
08:53 | They flooded the Balkans with illegal migrants
08:59 | and built a people-smuggling route leading into the heart of Europe.
09:04 | But then they came up against Hungary.
09:08 | We gave the command to halt, we took up the gauntlet
09:12 | and we defended ourselves: we built a fence and we defended our country.
09:17 | After a while I realized that it is not enough to defend our borders,
09:22 | it is not enough to fight in physical self-defense,
09:28 | but we can only defend our country if we also
09:33 | engage in intellectual and ideological battles.
09:37 | We found ourselves in the middle of an intellectual-ideological battlefield,
09:43 | because migration is an important part of the liberal progressives’ philosophy.
09:50 | We had no choice but to call out the ideology of the borders,
09:56 | open society, and with it the entire empire of George Soros.
10:01 | And so this is what happened, dear friends. Some people would devote
10:05 | half their lives to be world famous, and yet they do not succeed.
10:10 | We did not want to be famous, and yet we are.
10:14 | We defied the liberal canon and were swept to world fame.
10:18 | I do not know whether we or the liberals were
10:22 | more surprised, but perhaps that does not matter.
10:35 | Ladies and gentlemen, dear guests,
10:38 | it is essential, especially for those coming from abroad, to clearly understand
10:45 | that we Hungarians do not attack.
10:49 | We do not want to tell other countries what they should think
10:54 | about migration, gender theory or the European superstate —
10:59 | and we certainly do not want to tell the Americans.
11:05 | Every people has the right to live according to its own will and nature.
11:11 | Yes, we do not attack: we defend.
11:16 | We defend because the globalist progressive elite want to impose
11:22 | their will on us, want to tell us what to think and how to live.
11:27 | Our fight for freedom has become important for the Western world
11:33 | because it has turned out that it is not only Hungary that is under attack,
11:38 | but all the nations of the free world.
11:42 | This time last year I addressed you as your host.
11:49 | Last summer in Texas I was the man who comes from afar and feels free to tell jokes.
11:56 | My role today is a different one. Today, as the leader of an incubator program,
12:01 | I am reporting to you that we are all under attack — in Europe as well as in America.
12:09 | I must also report to you that the attack is not economic in nature:
12:16 | we are dealing with a biological weapon.
12:21 | A virus attack has been launched against us. The virus
12:27 | was developed in progressive liberal laboratories.
12:33 | This virus is attacking the most vulnerable point in the Western world: the nation.
12:43 | It is a nation-devouring virus that will atomize and pulverize our nations.
12:53 | My friends, the nation is the great invention of the West. It is the heart
12:59 | of the free world. But it is also the Achilles’ heel of the Western world.
13:04 | If nations evaporate, disintegrate or rust away,
13:10 | the possibility of free life is lost, and the West will fall.
13:17 | People without a homeland can never be free: they can only be wanderers,
13:24 | to be transplanted here or there, playthings of the global elite.
13:30 | The Judeo-Christian tradition teaches us that God divided the world
13:37 | into nations, and even appointed a guardian angel for each nation.
13:43 | And speaking of guardian angels, His Holiness
13:47 | Pope Francis was here recently. He was our
13:51 | guest for three days. And we were able to pray
13:56 | with him for peace in the world and in Hungary.
14:01 | It was a fantastic apostolic journey. The Hungarian
14:04 | people are extremely grateful to the Holy Father.
14:07 | A year ago, Pope Francis and CPAC were here, but separated
14:12 | by around six months. This year the gap was only one week.
14:16 | Who knows, if things continue like this,
14:20 | next year perhaps the Holy Father will drop in on this event!
14:35 | But let me return to my message. My friends,
14:39 | the idea of the nation is our special Western heritage.
14:44 | This is why the Hungarians also recognized it, this is why they made a blood oath,
14:49 | this is why they organized themselves into a nation, this is why we
14:54 | joined the Western world, and this is why we did not disappear into the
14:59 | mists of history — as happened to the other Asian peoples who came to the West.
15:04 | As nation-based political organization spread in the West, we ascended,
15:12 | and the West overtook its counterparts, in the competition between civilizations.
15:21 | The nation proved to be the best framework. It is the best framework for unleashing the forces
15:27 | latent in the citizens of a country and for serving the interests of the whole community.
15:33 | If someone knows, accepts and embraces a common language, history,
15:39 | and culture, that person is a full member of the nation — and therefore free.
15:45 | This represented Western civilization’s enormous advantage,
15:50 | the reason we were centuries ahead of other continents.
15:55 | This is the civilisational competitive advantage,
15:59 | Dear friends, that is under attack today.
16:03 | And I am sorry to say that the attack is proving to be successful.
16:09 | Our progress has slowed, and even stalled. Other civilizations have
16:15 | strengthened, have accelerated, and in many areas have simply outgrown us.
16:23 | They have caught up with us economically.
16:26 | Thirty years ago the Western world accounted for
16:29 | more than 60 percent of global output. Today the figure is somewhere around 40 percent.
16:36 | We have fallen behind in terms of natural resources — the US perhaps less so.
16:42 | But Europe is at the mercy of others, dependent on imported energy.
16:48 | Eighty percent of the vital raw materials needed for a
16:53 | modern economy are to be found outside the West.
16:57 | And we are also in a bad way demographically: the world’s population
17:02 | is growing, but the West’s population is shrinking.
17:06 | Resettlement and migration are masking the problem, but not remedying it.
17:12 | The only metric for which we are still in first place is military strength.
17:17 | At first sight this is good news. But a second glance makes
17:22 | it obvious that if we have lost all our other advantages
17:27 | and only our military force remains competitive, this
17:32 | will push events in the direction of military conflicts.
17:37 | This is what is happening today. So we are not doing well, the
17:42 | West is not doing well in the competition among civilizations.
17:46 | And the worst thing is that we only have ourselves to blame.
17:52 | None of our competitors could have wreaked such havoc.
18:00 | When the left unleashed its virus on the world,
18:06 | many well-meaning conservatives said
18:12 | that that anti-national virus was just an accidental laboratory leak.
18:17 | Surely, they said, the left would not want — or could not —
18:22 | unleash its radicals on the world; they will rein them in themselves.
18:27 | But that’s not what happened. Let us not be naïve! Today we can see
18:33 | that this virus has not simply escaped: it has been bred,
18:39 | it is being propagated and spread all over the world. Migration, gender,
18:45 | and woke: these are all just variants — variants of the same virus.
18:52 | Ladies and gentlemen, The essence of illegal migration
18:56 | is the destruction of the national community.
18:59 | It is the dismantling of the cultural foundation necessary for the functioning of the nation state,
19:04 | and the creation in its place of marginalized, atomized,
19:09 | coexisting — but mutually hostile —
19:14 | groups that will never form a community, and who ultimately will never form a state.
19:18 | The same is the goal of the woke movement and gender propaganda.
19:23 | Obviously you non-Hungarians do not know that we Hungarians have
19:31 | no separate words for sex in social [“gender”] and biological contexts.
19:35 | And I will tell you something even more astounding:
19:38 | Our language uses the same personal pronoun for everyone,
19:42 | so in Hungary there is nothing to argue about on that score.
19:46 | Therefore we see perhaps more clearly than people in other parts of the world
19:50 | that the woke movement and gender ideology are exactly what communism
19:57 | and Marxism used to be: they artificially divide the nation into minorities,
20:03 | in order to foment discord between groups. This is their power base.
20:09 | The Hungarian conservative experiment is successful
20:14 | because we can detect Marxists from miles away —
20:19 | indeed by smell without even needing to see them.
20:24 | They pressed down on us for fifty years.
20:28 | “Gender” and “woke” also divide the nation into classes,
20:32 | and proclaim that class is more important than nation,
20:36 | taking precedence over belonging to the nation and over national identity.
20:41 | My friends, I lived twenty-six years under Marxist oppression.
20:45 | In those days there was a popular joke
20:49 | that defined the absolute class struggle as the cat
20:53 | from the Party headquarters chasing off the church mouse.
20:58 | If you do not understand this joke, that is no problem — in fact
21:02 | it is a good sign! You are lucky and I hope it stays that way!
21:14 | Wherever class struggle rears its head,
21:19 | countries based on peaceful cooperation become the scene of unrest.
21:24 | Mutual respect and acceptance cease to exist, leaving only implacable hostility.
21:32 | Ladies and gentlemen, the third virus variant
21:39 | threatening Western nations today is progressive foreign policy.
21:45 | Progressive foreign policy always leads us into war. It brings upheaval to countries
21:54 | in the name of exporting democracy, and then either leaves or gets sucked in,
22:00 | trapped in the disorder it has itself created. I have seen many such “color revolutions.”
22:06 | They start with the slogan of freedom,
22:11 | continue with liberal-progressive re-education
22:15 | and human betterment, and end in chaos, disorder
22:19 | and the disgrace of countries abandoned to their fate.
22:24 | I am sure that if President Trump were President,
22:31 | then today Ukraine and Europe would not be stricken by any kind of war.
22:35 | Come back, Mr. President! Make America great again, and bring us peace!
23:02 | Ladies and gentlemen, in recent years
23:06 | progressives have again divided the world into the good, the bad,
23:09 | Nazis, non-Nazis, democracies and autocracies.
23:14 | Progressives always pursue imperialist policy.
23:19 | What they are doing is textbook imperialism.
23:23 | First of all they put diplomatic pressure on nations, expecting them
23:29 | to declare whether or not they support migration, gender propaganda,
23:36 | the relativization of families, and the sexualization of children.
23:40 | Those who refuse to do so are the enemy, and a liberal fatwa is pronounced on them.
23:49 | If you say that “gender” and the LGBTQ movements
23:54 | are about the sexualization of children,
23:57 | you will be accused of betraying Western values.
24:01 | If you say that universities should not be about woke
24:05 | ideological education but about seeking the truth,
24:10 | you are attacking academic freedom.
24:14 | If you say that war is not in the interest
24:18 | of the Western world, you are branded as one of Putin’s enablers.
24:23 | Here in Budapest we are getting a little tired of all this, but we cannot just brush it off.
24:29 | The latest imperial foreign policy goal of the progressives is to deprive the
24:35 | member states of the European Union of the right to conduct their own foreign policy.
24:41 | They must be stopped. This will be the biggest battle in Brussels in the months ahead.
24:47 | Dear friends, in conclusion, this virus is numbing the brains
24:56 | of nations, demoralizing their hearts and paralyzing their limbs.
25:00 | It is turning living nations into lifeless communities.
25:05 | What we are celebrating here is the fact that there are incubators like Hungary,
25:08 | the purpose of which is defense.
25:14 | But let us not forget that there are also progressive research labs
25:20 | where the virus attacking the West is being developed to an ever-greater degree.
25:24 | Here in Europe one such laboratory is Brussels, and the progressive elite that run it.
25:32 | I suppose there are also such laboratories in the United States.
25:38 | Some of them are in private hands in the NGOs of wealthy billionaires,
25:44 | while others are in the world of progressive party foundations and think tanks.
25:49 | The good news, dear American friends,
25:53 | is that here in Europe the “Reconquista” has begun.
25:58 | There are encouraging results.
26:09 | In Italy our conservative friends have won, Ms. Meloni has won.
26:13 | But we must acknowledge that the work does not end with electoral victory.
26:19 | I could talk a lot about the fact that it begins exactly then.
26:24 | The real work always begins with victory. We are rooting for Ms. Meloni
26:30 | to produce inspiring results with the Brothers of Italy as soon as possible.
26:35 | And in Jerusalem the conservative forces have also won. I see that the progressive Left
26:44 | does not accept facts there, either. But I have good news for PM Netanyahu:
26:48 | But I have good news for PM Netanyahu:
26:51 | The louder the liberals are, the faster they lose popularity.
26:58 | I say this from experience. Then we have the promising upcoming Spanish
27:04 | general election, and the stars are also well aligned for our Polish friends.
27:12 | And there will be the European Parliament elections,
27:17 | when we can finally topple the progressive elite and drain the Brussels swamp.
27:26 | My friends, the good news for everyone
27:33 | is that we need to look no further for a serum for the progressive virus:
27:39 | It is here, in Hungary. It is available to everyone.
27:44 | You can take it freely, it just needs a little local adaptation,
27:50 | and it will work anywhere: in hot or cold climates,
27:53 | in the North or in the South. It protects against all variants of the progressive forces
27:59 | and has no side effects. Ask your doctor or pharmacist.
28:07 | All that is needed, before the election, is to write in
28:14 | huge, prominent letters on your flag: “No migration! No gender! No war!”
28:30 | My friends, we have stopped migration at our borders,
28:34 | we have banned the sexualization of children and gender propaganda in schools,
28:39 | and we are also working uncompromisingly for peace.
28:42 | And it is working. We have won four times in a row. People feel
28:47 | that their future is at stake. They will support the political force
28:54 | that protects the whole nation and represents its interests.
28:59 | Yes, the main weakness of the progressive forces is the popular will: democracy itself.
29:05 | This is how they can be beaten. Ladies and gentlemen, There are two ways to occupy a city.
29:12 | This is something that was already known in ancient Rome.
29:17 | Either you take the city’s walls, or you take the city’s sanctuaries.
29:22 | I suggest we start with the sanctuaries, and then take the walls.
29:28 | In recent years we have taken some great European sanctuaries:
29:33 | Budapest, Warsaw, Rome, Jerusalem — and Vienna is not hopeless either.
29:38 | But the truth is that the two main sanctuaries of modern democracy,
29:43 | Washington and Brussels, are still in the hands of the liberals.
29:47 | Let us make sure they do not stay that way!
29:50 | For this I wish all of you God’s support and perseverance in your work.
29:55 | And since we happen to meet here on May the fourth:
30:00 | May the force be with you! |
Bravo Victor Orban !, last man standing for Europe..
