Santiago Abascal: A Message for CPAC Hungary

The second annual CPAC Hungary conference wrapped up yesterday in Budapest. Santiago Abascal, the leader of the conservative VOX party in Spain, was unable to attend the conference, so he sent the following video message to be played in his absence.

Many thanks to HeHa for the translation, and to Vlad Tepes and RAIR Foundation for the subtitling:

Video transcript:

00:13   Dear friends, I am really sorry I cannot be there with you in Budapest.
00:18   Firstly because every time I visit it, I enjoy its beauty and hospitality;
00:22   and secondly, because CPAC Hungary has become
00:26   one of European patriots’ and conservatives’ major venues.
00:31   As you know, in Spain we are going to hold local and regional elections soon,
00:36   whose importance is vital to the future of our fatherland.
00:40   Our economy, our unity, our traditions, our freedom and our safety
00:44   are in jeopardy, because of our government,
00:48   which stands for the worst left-wing in Europe. A good result
00:51   obtained on this election date will be crucial to create an alternative,
00:55   one that can eradicate Socialists’ and Communists’ totalitarian policies.
01:00   That is why my duty and my sense of commitment urge me to remain in Spain.
01:05   I am convinced that this day in Budapest will help strengthen the ties that bring us together,
01:10   in order to predict the diagnosis of the situation our European countries are experiencing,
01:16   and also the countries on the other side of the Atlantic,
01:19   from the US to our brotherly nations of Ibero-America,
01:22   that we should care about and help in their struggle to oust Communism.
01:29   But predicting is not enough. We need to offer an alternative which needs,
01:33   without doubt, to look at the examples coming from Hungary, Poland or Italy.
01:38   Because Europe is asking us for a path to its own survival.
01:41   The path of the Europe of Nations versus the forced federalization.
01:45   The path of sovereignty versus the bureaucrats and the technocrats that nobody elected.
01:50   The path of freedom versus meddling and impositions.
01:54   The path of prosperity versus sacrificing our industry and our agriculture.
01:59   The path, basically, of community and roots versus globalism.
02:04   The path of law and order versus massive and illegal immigration.
02:08   That’s how we can preserve and pass on to our children all the things we love.
02:13   You already know that united, we are stronger.
02:16   And together, we will win. Forward, patriots and conservatives of Europe.
