Abandoned by the Republic

A substantial crowd of French Jews who gathered in Paris to protest recent incidents of Jew-hatred (such as the gang rape of a 12-year-old girl) discovered to their chagrin that they have almost no “ecumenical” support for their cause. They’ve also learned not to trust the words of politicians — which is something they should have known already.

The following video shows a French TV report on the demo in Paris. Many thanks to Gary Fouse for the translation, and to Vlad Tepes and RAIR Foundation for the subtitling:

Video transcript:

00:03   A demonstration has started this evening, in Paris, in front of the Hôtel de Ville.
00:06   We are joined by Marie Schuster. Marie, good evening. You are at the scene.
00:11   Tell us a little bit about this. First of all, is there a big crowd?
00:16   Yes, well, indeed, behind me, at the Place de l’Hôtel de Ville in Paris,
00:22   about 800 people are gathered by the call of the collective “Nous Vivrons”,
00:28   a gathering that was organized in less than 24 hours.
00:32   So, a lot of people, a lot of people of Jewish faith.
00:36   We have been able to meet with some of them, who lament, by the way,
00:39   that there is no national unity around anti-Semitism.
00:43   They deeply lament that there are not more demonstrators of the Muslim faith,
00:47   or of the Catholic faith, who come to support them,
00:51   following this aggression and this anti-Semitic rape,
00:55   and who come to support them in the fight against anti-Semitism in France.
00:59   They also lament that few politicians are present here with them tonight.
01:05   And yet, there are some politicians present tonight,
01:09   since the Minister of Justice, Éric Dupont-Moretti, himself,
01:12   spoke just a few minutes ago at the tribune.
01:15   The Minister of Justice, who was thoroughly booed.
01:18   A lot of demonstrators with whom we interacted explained to us
01:21   that they blame politicians first of all
01:25   for throwing gasoline on the fire for months.
01:28   Éric Dupont-Moretti, who quickly came out of the tribune
01:31   faced with an audience that did not receive him at all.
01:36   This demonstration also shows the extent of the disarray of the Jewish community in France,
01:41   which feels, as we were told, abandoned by the Republic,
01:45   Jews of France who no longer believe in the words of politicians.
01:53   Thank you Marie. This was Marie Schuster, live from Paris, at the Hôtel de Ville, in Paris.

  1. They are clearly unfamiliar with the Torah( Old Testament) the operating manual for Jews. This is the most important lack in their existence and G-d is reminding them of who is in control.
