The Gaza War — in Thailand

The attack by Hamas on Israel has impacted foreign guest workers from countries all over the world, among them Thailand. Our Bangkok correspondent H. Numan sends this report.

The Gaza War — in Thailand

by H. Numan

Quite unexpectedly there is widespread interest in the Gaza War. Thais aren’t much interested in international news. The news always opens (if appropriate) with royal news, important national news, usually less important local news, then the international news. The relationship between Thailand and Israel is okay. There is absolutely no religious animosity between the two. Not in favor and not against. The number of Jews/Israelis living in Thailand is minuscule. Fewer than 2,000 is what I could find. A lot more come to visit the beaches. Public interest in Israel is minimal. In the past wars between various Arab states and/or terrorist organizations vs. Israel were reported, but no more than that.

However, this time the ongoing Gaza war is the number one news story. With very good reason: 12 Thais have been killed, 11 were taken hostage and 25,000 are stuck, and can’t get home. About 5,000 of them work in the danger zone close to the Gaza strip. Yes, quite a lot of enterprising men and women work as guest laborers in Israel. The news reports about it 24 hours per day.

— just in: the Thai foreign ministry reports that 18 Thais are reported dead, 9 are injured, 11 have been taken hostage and 3,226 have asked for voluntary repatriation.

Prime minister Srettha Thavisin ordered the air force to prepare to evacuate those in need. Lockheed Hercules C 130 and Airbus A340 are prepared for evacuation missions. That’s a pretty fast response, one that I hadn’t expected. Given the number of possible evacuees and the distance, that has to be an air bridge of proportions. When it will take place, I have no idea. Or even if it will take place. Given the disproportion between Hamas and the IDF, the war is not going to last long.

Which brings me to my worries. Why on earth did Hamas start this war? And why so vile? Yes, I know mohammedans feel insulted by the Dirlewanger SS unit. Is that the most cruel military unit ever? We can do better than that! Isis, not that long ago, excelled at and relished inventing the most painful and cruel ways to kill… mohammedans. Burned alive, slowly crushed to death by a tank — that sort of thing. Those victims were mohammedans. Imagine what they do to anyone with a different faith, let alone the Jews? Yes, they are exactly doing that right now.

Hamas is supported by Iran. The can’t flush a toilet without permission from Tehran. The idea that they launched an attack to avenge something on their own is ludicrous. They were ordered to do so from Tehran. Okay, the attack was a big surprise. 9/11 for Israel, granted. But what will it achieve?

First of all, the wrath of Israel. The Gaza strip is now under siege. Electricity, gas, food and water are cut off. Nothing (apart from the IDF) goes in, nothing gets out. Netanyahu is highly controversial, but that is among Israelis themselves. He is a capable military leader, and doesn’t pussyfoot around. He is not known for that. In other words, something Hamas knows. Yet they still attacked.

Even worse, they try to trump Isis in vile practices. Beheadings, torture, kidnapping, you name it. If they don’t do that it’s not because they lack the will, but the time. I can understand a common Hamas terrorist not giving a hoot about consequences, but their leadership should. They know perfectly well Israel will respond. Certainly not as harsh, but they will. Simply because they have to. Exchanging one hostage for a thousand terrorists sentenced to life in prison is not going to happen. There is no real reason for this attack, yet still they attacked.

I think the main reason might be Iran. The ayatollahs are very close in producing a bomb. If they announce they have a bomb, Israel will respond. So give the Israelis something to worry about elsewhere, then announce they have a nuke. It’s difficult to see the IDF reacting to that if they have a full scale war on their hands.

No Iranian leader will worry about Hamas or Hezbollah losses. They get their reward in heaven. They won’t have to instruct them to be cruelly creative. That’s standard procedure. It will cause a harsh Israeli response, of course. So much the better! That might cause a break in peace talks with Saudi Arabia. Perhaps a response from other mohammedan nations favorable for Iran.

That’s all speculation on my end. I have no information that prompts this conclusion. Yet I have a painful feeling I’m not wrong.

  1. All this begs the question, “Why was this allowed?” Are the Global Elite serving notice to Israel? The apparent focus of the initial attack by Hamas was an open-air music festival that could have been similar to the annual “Burning Man” event that is held in the California/Nevada desert. If that is so, then the music festival would have been a royal anathema to the Muslim, or maybe the festival provided a good excuse and a cover for a larger operation that was enabled by the sabotaged shut-down of Israel’s border security system.
If Israel’s perimeter defenses were sabotaged and disabled and no one said anything even though it would have been known by us and by Europe, then we have a much larger question that is in dire need of an honest answer.

    • I once heard that as long as Israel exists, the Messiah cannot come, e.g. cannot be born.

On the other hand: The Elites need terror and fear to make the population scream for safety and security and they will deliver – for a price. (Our freedoms.)

Why do I have the scene from STAR WARS III Revenge of the Sith book in my mind?

To quote Palpatine from the book: “”Safety! Security! Justice and Peace!”

      • I make no partular claim to expertise, but as I understand it, Shia Muslims (the minority overall, but the majority in Iran) believe that only when the “Hidden Imam” appears, will this world end, and Allah reign supreme, etc.

Unfortunately, this can only happen when the Jews have been eliminated. Which is why any concessions, financial or otherwise, the US makes to the Iranians are so naively misdirected; the fanatics who run Iran may well use nukes on Israel without caring who perishes.

      • Sorry, Alex. What you heard was dishonest and untrue.

The Messiah, Jesus, will come no matter what. He was born two thousands years ago and he now sits on the right hand of God the Father. He is with us every step of the way.

The Bible says that when HE comes again, there will be trumpet sounds out of the east that can be heard all over the world. They will be LOUD and clear. And then He will begin his greatest work of all. Coming for Believers who pray in HIS name.

I would love it my lifetime and from the news I get daily on ScrewTube from Erick Stakleback It may be very soon. And there will be a NEW Israel.
