Antifa vs. the AfD

The following video was recorded in Mannheim a couple of days after Michael Stürzenberger and several other people were stabbed there by an Afghan culture-enricher. The youth wing of the AfD (Alternative für Deutschland, Alternative for Germany) organized a memorial at the site for all those who had been wounded, including the policeman who later died. The participants were confronted by a “mostly peaceful” counter-demonstration sponsored by Antifa and the local Green party.

00:09   [Refugees chant] Nazis out
00:12   It was here, on this square in Mannheim, where Michael Stürzenberger was stabbed on Friday.
00:18   A police officer was wounded in a life-threatening way. The young alternative,
00:22   the youth of the AfD party, has registered a memorial here.
00:25   Candles are being lit. The victims of this terrible knife attack are being commemorated.
00:30   However, there is also a left-wing alliance that has mobilized against the commemoration.
00:36   This alliance is supported by a man named Gerhard Fontanier, a member of the Mannheim Green Party.
00:43   They have called for a counter-demo, which has already tried
00:47   to attack participants in this demonstration.
00:50   They are working with incomprehensible methods.
00:55   Nevertheless, it is an important sign which is being placed here on the market square in Mannheim.
00:59   Yeah, we were all shocked when we saw the video.
01:04   To be honest, there are no words that in 2024, something like this is possible here.
01:11   But there is a reason. Yeah… It happens every day, that women are no longer safe,
01:18   that men are no longer safe on German streets,
01:21   because the government, very specifically, ensures that people like this offender here in Mannheim
01:26   come into our country every day,
01:29   and so ensure that people are stabbed on the streets.
01:33   That’s why we acted very quickly as a young alternative.
01:36   We said we have to go to Mannheim within the next few days.
01:39   The day before yesterday we registered a vigil.
01:42   And today we carried it out with hundreds of people, who stood here in the market square.
01:46   However, I was very shocked that the so-called Antifa
01:52   tried to storm the demonstrative vigil with pyrotechnic and smoke bombs.
01:56   The police had to mount a large-scale operation. The streetcars of the tram are placed
01:59   so that the attackers can no longer assault us here. An activist had also been hit on the head.
02:06   I don’t have enough words for this. When we came back from the meeting,
02:10   I was about with five other people on the street,
02:13   Ten masked Antifa thugs came screaming, with cudgels, and attacked us, hit us.
02:18   They robbed me of my cell phone. That’s really terrible.
02:21   When I went back to the police, and of course we reported the incident directly.
02:25   Because we hoped that it might be possible for the police to follow this group.
02:29   Unfortunately, we were told that no more forces were available.
02:33   The Antifa thugs were able to run away unchallenged. We hope that such incidents
02:36   will not happen again in the future.
02:39   That we will also be protected by the police in the future.
02:42   I know Michael Stürzenberger personally.
02:46   I am a great admirer of the selflessness with which he has taken up the cause in Germany
02:55   that we urgently have to talk about Islam and what Islam is.
02:59   We are standing here in front of the clinic where Michael Stürzenberger is currently being treated.
03:04   Michael Stürzenberger is probably doing better now.
03:07   There is sad news in the case of the policeman.
03:10   According to the latest media reports, he is already brain-dead
03:14   and will only be artificially kept alive by a heart-lung machine
03:18   to make organ donation possible later.
03:21   If that is true, it would mean that there is no longer any salvation for the policeman.
03:26   A man, only in his late twenties, Ruven L., who had been criticized many times
03:31   after the publication of the video of the knife attack.
03:34   The accusation was that he had attacked the wrong person.
03:37   That he tried to immobilize a helper on the ground. Which is also true.
03:42   However, a new video has now emerged from another angle,
03:46   which has shown a different perspective on things.
03:49   Because this helper, whom the policeman wanted to immobilize,
03:52   apparently accidentally hit another helper in all the chaos,
03:56   who had already held the knife attacker on the ground.
03:59   It looks like Ruven L. acted absolutely correctly.
04:02   And paid for it with his life.
04:05   The only policeman who put himself in direct danger.
04:08   And then the knife was rammed into his neck several times.
04:11   Apparently his brain was injured.
04:14   And now there is obviously no more salvation for him.
04:17   So far the current status. Srećko, you just said you were in the city when it happened on Friday.
04:22   And you yourself have a migration background. How do you assess this whole attack?
04:28   This whole attack itself is hell on earth for us foreigners too.
04:31   For the reason —
04:34   because we are also put in the wrong light.
04:38   For the reason — because my parents came here to build up something,
04:43   and yet we’re foreigners again, whether we have a German passport or not.
04:48   And that has to change. Especially since the migration wave from 2013/14, things are going wrong
04:52   and that’s something I say as a foreigner. Zero integration.
04:56   And suddenly a guy shows up and willy-nilly stabs a policemen, people, with a combat knife.
05:00   He came as a refugee, and I looked where he came from,
05:04   and I have to tell you, there is NO WAR, there’s peace.
05:08   There’s something seriously wrong in this country. The police are poorly trained;
05:12   they should have reacted far more quickly, and earlier. Regrettably, the poor policeman —
05:15   what can one do? —You just said that you can understand Stürzenberger on some points.
05:18   Certainly, because politics should not be mixed with religion. That’s why political Islam
05:21   is a bit tricky. Politics and religion need to be separate. One can see this clearly with Iran.
05:26   It’s a country run by political Islam. It’s a fact.
