The Grassy Knoll of the Lars Vilks Case

Lars Vilks was a Swedish artist who became well-known internationally after he pissed off the Muslim world by a drawing pictures of the Prophet as a Roundabout Dog. Mr. Vilks was killed in a fiery high-speed car crash last October under circumstances that have never been completely clarified.

I reported last month on the latest twist in the investigation into Mr. Vilks’ death, which was the appearance of mysterious bangs (gunshots?) on the audio track of a surveillance video recorded near the site of the fatal crash. Despite the unexplained noises, the investigation has now been officially closed.

Below is a video with more on the surveillance audio. Many thanks to Gary Fouse for translating this report from Expressen, and to Vlad Tepes and RAIR Foundation for the subtitling:

Video transcript:

00:09   This is the sound of bangs seconds before Lars Vilks’ fatal crash.
00:14   The sound recording comes from a surveillance video at a villa that lies
00:17   in the vicinity of the scene where artist Lars Vilks and two bodyguards
00:22   died in a car accident in October of last year.
00:26   From the audio that Dagens Juridik has gained access to,
00:29   two bangs can be heard just before the crash.
00:32   Then there is silence for five seconds before a third bang is heard.
00:38   The investigation into the incident was closed two weeks ago.
00:42   Chief prosecutor Per Nichols tells Dagens Juridik that “no crime has been committed”.
00:46   He says that the incident is a tragic accident that was likely caused by a tire that blew out,
00:52   which caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
00:57   When police technicians went through the car, they found a pistol bullet.
01:02   According to investigators, it is likely a bullet was fired earlier that one of the policemen
01:07   in the car had with him for an unknown reason.
01:11   In another audio that is also part of the preliminary investigation is heard what is described as
01:17   tire explosions and believed to be the sound captured
01:20   after the accident when the car caught on fire.
01:23   But what was heard on the audio recording from the villa’s surveillance camera,
01:26   the police have not been able to identify. On the other hand,
01:29   it has been ruled out that it was a shot since no such traces were found in the vehicle.
01:35   That is what Chief Prosecutor tells Dagens Juridik.
01:38   The car Vilks was riding in crossed over to the wrong side
01:42   of the E4 at Markaryd and collided with a truck.
01:45   The crash caused a large fire, and the three persons in the car died.

Whenever the authorities get anxious to close a particular investigation, my sixth sense starts tingling that something is amiss. And that sense is now alive in this case. I am reminded of a case maybe ten years ago in Minneapolis, MN when there was a massive explosion and fire in an tenement owned and occupied completely by Muslims.

The event itself was of course spectacular, but what was really noteworthy was the manner in which the local authorities were big-footed by the Feds and the FBI, and how quickly the “investigation” determined that the explosion was due to a natural gas leak. Didn’t even have time to do adequate DNA analysis or forensics. Gee, too bad.

Anyway, not long after, a demolitions outfit showed up with heavy equipment and promptly demolished what remained of the entire structure. Guess the big boys didn’t want anyone picking through the wreckage and discovering that the jihadists were running a bomb factory inside the dwelling – which is what independent investigators believe was really happening there. The shahids inadvertently blew themselves and their neighbors up when something went awry in their bomb-making. PETN or pentaerythritol tetranitrate, is notorious unstable and can be set off inadvertently by mishandling. Indeed, the believers themselves call it “devil’s breath”….

So it is natural that I cast a somewhat cynical eye upon the death of Mr. Vilks. My only questions now concern the identity of the assassins: Were they Muslims seeking vengeance, or perhaps deep-state operatives were out to silence him for his indiscretions of the past?

As they say in Chicago, “The fix is in …. all the way in”…

    • I agree on the resonance with the Cedar Avenue explosion in Minneapolis. You must have missed my retrospective on the incident that I posted here last week!

      • Hi Baron,

That’s probably what reminded me of the incident in the first place, so you deserve a shout-out for that. I’m an old guy now, officially, and we sometimes need a little prodding to remember things. Thanks!
