Israel After the Hamas Attack: Cyber-Experts Locating Missing Hostages

The following video is a German report on the Israeli effort to identify the hostages being held by Hamas in Gaza. The German portions have been subtitled in English; the English portions have the German subtitles that were included in the original clip.

From the text of the video description:

Hundreds of volunteers are investigating the locations of kidnapped Hamas hostages with the help of artificial intelligence and social media. One mother is begging the world for help — her daughter appeared in a Hamas propaganda video.

Many thanks to Nash Montana for the translation, and to Vlad Tepes and RAIR Foundation for the subtitling:

Video transcript:

00:00   They call it the “War Room”.
00:03   It’s a situation room of sorts created for this war.
00:06   From here about 450 Israeli volunteers are currently searching for hostages
00:12   who were kidnapped by Hamas.
00:15   Many of the volunteers come from the heart
00:18   of the IT and cyber sector which is especially well-developed in Israel.
00:21   Since the Hamas terror attack nine days ago,
00:24   these people have left their regular jobs in order to locate
00:27   more kidnapped victims. There are still over 1,000 people missing.
00:42   Volunteers search and investigate social media photos
00:45   and video posts that the missing made before the attack, as well as recordings
00:51   that have been published by Hamas terrorists themselves.
01:27   On Monday evening, for the first time Hamas published
01:30   a video of a hostage for the sake of propaganda.
01:33   The young woman says that she is currently
01:36   in the Gaza Strip and has been treated at a hospital.
01:39   She asks to be rescued as soon as possible.
01:42   The identity of the 21 year old woman has been confirmed by her family.
02:33   Back in the War Room: Even the Israeli government
02:36   is drawing additional information from them by now.
02:39   According to a statement, the IT specialists
02:42   have been able to locate hundreds of people already.
02:45   But Hamas has now begun to retroactively delete videos.
03:06   An estimated 300 hostages are currently being held
03:09   by Hamas, and at least 22 of them have been killed
03:12   due to Israeli airstrikes in Gaza. At least that’s what Hamas claims.
03:15   But it’s just one more reason
03:18   why the work of these volunteers is also a race against time.

  1. God grant these searching for the kidnapped success, and fast! The kidnapped are living hell on earth with the savages who took them. Please, Lord, save your Jewish people. Stop the atrocities against them!
