The Sicilian Connection

The Italian government declared a state of emergency earlier this week due to the catastrophic increase in the number of African culture-enrichers arriving on Italian shores.

The video below from Dutch television reports on a boat carrying 700 illegal migrants that landed in Sicily. Many thanks to Gary Fouse for the translation, and to Vlad Tepes and RAIR Foundation for the subtitling:

Here’s an English-language article about the situation (hat tip Reader from Chicago):

Italy Declares National Emergency as Migrants Pour Off Boats, Flood Shelters

The Italian government declared a six-month nationwide state of emergency Tuesday as thousands of migrants flooded the country’s southern coast, resulting in overflowing shelters, according to a cabinet meeting statement.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and her cabinet met Tuesday at Palazzo Chigi in Rome to discuss the substantial increase in the migration flow towards Italy, “which is causing situations of very serious overcrowding in the first reception centers,” according to a cabinet meeting statement.

“From these data follows the need to urgently provide for the implementation of extraordinary measures to decongest the Lampedusa hotspot and to create new structures, suitable both for the reception needs and for the recognition and repatriation of migrants who do not have the requisites for stay on the national territory,” reads the statement.

Video transcript:

00:08   A boat carrying around 700 migrants is towed into a Sicilian port Wednesday.
00:13   The boat ran out of fuel in the middle of the sea.
00:19   On Tuesday, the Italian government declared a state of emergency.
00:25   They did that because of the large numbers of migrants
00:28   who have recently crossed the Mediterranean Sea.
00:31   That is three times as many migrants as in the same period last year.
00:37   Under the state of emergency, Italy can more easily send people back who are not allowed to stay.

    • I was thinking a canister of nerve agent or a fuel-air bomb. Sharks probably prefer their food rare instead of well-done.

  1. I look at that boat above and see nothing but a nice big fat target, a simple fast attack boat, some 50 ma deuces, 20 and 30 mm okerlion guns and no more bloody invasion problem.

    • I am reminded of the movie “The Rock” where the General tells his Marines that if they take part n this mission they will be rich but can never return to the US.

Just imagine someone powerful would tell you the same, but you could protect Europe / USA in the manner Sir Peter, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress and G imply.

      • Alex, nice thought and there are plenty of places to live in the world that doesn’t have extradition. lol

    • It’s a nice daydream, but even that kind of force isn’t really required.

Most of those tubs, especially the giant inflatables, are severely underpowered and only have enough fuel to get them a few miles from shore where the water is deep enough for a rendezvous with the orc/invader ferry services. After all, why waste money on enough fuel to reach Europe when they’re going to be transported by ferry most of the distance?

Sinking or impounding the ferrys is far more efficient, and just letting the orcboats drift once they run out of fuel will mean most of the orcs starve, drown, or are pushed back to Orcfrica by the currents.

      • That was my thought, sink those NGO boats while they are full and drop leaflets along the coast telling the invaders that nothing but death awaits them in the sea.

  2. All very well, but even if the majority of the “refugees” are young men of fighting age, there are women and children aboard. This is stretching the concept of acceptable “collateral damage”.

After the 2014 Gaza conflict, a commission of military experts concluded that the IDF took more trouble to avoid civilian casualties than any military in history. A recent statistic states that while the average ratio of civilian to combatant deaths in most conflicts is 4:1, in Israel/”Palestine” it’s 1:1.

If a nation fighting for its very survival can manage this, even while its enemies are targeting Israeli civilians and using their own as human shields (both “war crimes”), is this the best we can do while retaining credibility as the more “civilised” culture?

    • There is no such bloody thing as a war crimes, there is only war, as for the Israeli’s, they take far too many casualties that is unacceptable in that foolish and stupid endeavor. As for women and children invading the west? Or warfare in general? Too bloody bad, get on a boat the consequences are severe and I have zero remorse if I am the guy sinking that boat. In combat around the globe, my first and only rule is, get everybody home, and don’t give a damn about them or theirs and that is why I am still here today and I make zero effing apologies for it. That is the GD problem right there, you cannot make war civilized, period! In the end, there is only Victor and vanquished, that is it, the whinners, bitchers and complainers have no say so. Oh if you must know , I have had enemies use human shields, still didn’t give a damn, shot them too.
