Björn Höcke of Alternative für Deutschland (Alternative for Germany, AfD) was interviewed recently by Dale Hurd of CBN. This interview took place before Sunday’s regional elections, in which AfD scored major gains.

Here’s a question for Germans or someone who knows German politics — does the Bundestag not have an equivalent of the UK “Question Time” which is also duplicated in many other democracies — regularly the Prime Minister has to answer questions from opposition, and it’s usually filmed. I don’t get it why I am hearing that major politicians don’t know why Merkel did what she did — did she not have to answer tough questions about it on camera? Was the problem that there wasn’t sufficiently tough opposition to pose the tough and revealing questions to her?

No, it doesn’t.
They do have some questions, but it requires a real opposition, which currently does not exist due to the 5% entry threshold which (just) kept out both the FDP and AfD in 2013, leaving only Merkel’s Union (CDU-CSU), her coalition partners SPD, and the even more leftist Greens and Linke.
I used to think the parliamentarian form of legislatures were less moribund than our two party system. I’ve changed my mind. This is paralysis.
Indeed, a term I have used myself for the situation. There are various causal factors, including previous mass immigration, but the 5% entry threshold is the clearest and simplest to solve, although on current form the AfD at least will romp in next year with over 10%. Unfortunately it’s too long to have to wait.
Is Merkel a Manchurian plant?
Speculated the same possibility myself. Soemthign very strange about that woman and her antics of recent times.

A decent, sensible, rational man who has had his reputation traduced by the establishment and media in Germany. However he has the courage to try (& wake the German people up) and is a patriot and should be applauded for that.
Satanic hag Angela Merkel is the most evil soul of 21st century. She deliberately wants to convert Germany and Europe into islamic nations- for this aim she is in secret collaboration with Turkey’s Erdogan. There is great possibility that evil Merkel is mentally sick, the other great possibility is that she has in her heart secretly converted to islam. There is no greater traitor in history than Merkel who betrayed her country and people in such a fatal way- her deliberate plan is to destroy not only Germany but the whole Europe. How cowardly and dumb Germans and Europeans are that they can’t fight an insane old ugly hag who single-handedly is destroying whole Europe. Her next clever scheme to instantly destroy Europe is visa free entrance to Turkey citizens.
Another possibility is that she is in fact a hard leftist (commie background) who infiltrated the CDU in order to basically wreck it when the time came (which turned out to be when Obama was in the White House). Or is just an Adolf-like egomaniac using different tactics for different though still hugely ruinous ends. One thing’s for sure, her migration ‘policy’ is not rational (or even legal) and has some dark secret behind it, even if it’s just a deal with big-business and the left, and a lust for a Nobel (at least).
