We reported last Sunday about the controversy in Sweden over Erik Svensson, a professor of biology at the University of Lund. Dr. Svensson had engaged in a notably abusive exchange on Twitter with (among others) Ingrid Carlqvist of Dispatch International, and had expressed his desire to spit on her.
The Twitter-spitter’s expectorant bile was too much even for Swedish public discourse, and an uproar ensued. The distinguished Dr. Svensson, now widely known as “The Spitting Professor”, was pressured into a public apology to Ms. Carlqvist — also on Twitter. I’ve been told that he has since deleted his entire Twitter account.
A couple of days ago a Swedish reader emailed the dean of the science faculty at the University of Lund and asked, “Avser Lunds universitet utreda personangrepp av twittrande professor?” (“Is Lund University investigating personal attacks of the twittering professor?”) His message included a link to the Gates of Vienna post.
Yesterday he received this reply:
Erik Svensson has been twittering as a private person, not representing Lund University. We have nothing to do with his views and his expressions. Nevertheless, his behavior is damaging Lund University, and we cannot accept that. We shall start with a serious discussion with him, and then see what action is appropriate.

A typical commenter on the Twitter-spitter controversy at Fria Tider said:
“Stoppa Kulturmarxisterna!” (“Stop the Cultural Marxists!”)
“Has he apologized?” But, still he did not hesitate from writing what he wrote, and that applies not only to Ingrid Carlqvist.
The Sydvenskan’s Israel-friendly editor Mats Skogskär was told that he was a “fascist devil” and “Anders Breivik’s handyman”.
Of course, Erik Svensson would not have apologized if there were no alternative sites online. The only thing the (extreme) left is good for is HATE, and they tolerate no views other than their own. Also: by calling themselves “Marxists” they have lost their case in advance.
For those who are interested, here’s Erik Svensson’s bio page at Lund University. His “research is focused on some central topics in behaviour, ecology and evolutionary biology”. Nothing about spitting, nor does the text mention the study of fascist devils.

What the hell, why this thing even bothers anyone? [Manifold obscenities redacted]?
There are real concerns, like:
1. onslaught of Islam on Europe
2. onslaught of Islam on Human Rights
3. onslaught of Islam on everything we hold dear
Why bother about this [obscenity]? Why even talk to him?
As a Marxist I am sure that Professor Svenson would feel at home in one of the world’s most multicultural cities. Why doesn’t he find a crash pad in one of the more culturally enriched parts of London? I don’t think that Lund is quite so multicultural as yet. To the Vikings it was the home of a sacred grove; a shame that Thor can’t land his mighty hammer straight on the professor’s arrogant little brain.
This is the Celts’ Llundain, the Romans’ Londinium and the Lundenbyring of the Saxon kings; now a majority Afro-asian city, not even a European one any more. But it is shortly to be joined in that distinction by England’s second city Birmingham whilst Leicester, where Richard the Third’s remains have been found, Slough and Luton are now officially offshoots of the Indian sub-continent.
Meanwhile back at the pigsty that is the Palace of Westminster we learn that the three major donors to the three main political parties are on a list to become members of the House of Lords where they will frame laws to control the great British unwashed that was the former British working and middle classes. If that doesn’t stink to high heaven then I don’t know what does. We should never have got rid of the hereditary peerage if this was what was obviously going to happen, the House of Lords as a repository for political corruption. Time for Madame Guillotine. The problem is that the French know they have brought down a corrupt establishment and could do it again. The English have been ruled by one since 1066 and are terrified of it.
His hateful attitude is not only harming all the students he teaches, the reputation of Lund University, but perhaps all Sweden. I hope the Spitting Professor will need new employment after their “discussions.” Perhaps Putin will consider his application.

I have a solid background from Lund University.
1. The Dean Olov Sterner answered the mail from a reader of GoV (He could just as well have treated it as spam.).
2. According to my opinion, the deans rapid answer was very professional.
According to my opinion, the only unique thing about Prof. Svensson is that he suicidedly made himself a target to the “Twitter Pirayas”. His children will probably suffer from years of mobbing.
I certainly don’t agree with the language used by Prof. Svensson. But I hope that my old University will stop by giving him a warning. I prefer “lessons” from violent reprisals.
In a way, I feel sympathy with Prof. Svensson. Among all liers, he has been honest.
Regarding the role of Ingrid Carlqvist: She is an experienced journalist, and Prof. Svensson was a sitting duck when she started her provocations.

Here is the thing Marten. Under normal circumstances with Western Civilization, I would agree with your forbearing hand. However this man is probably on hiring committees and whatnot and combined with a sittuation where Leftwingers now dominate our institutions…I think that it time to drop the Marquis de Queensbury rules and start playing to win. There needs to be serious negative consequences brought to bear on the enemies of Western Civilization. This idea that we are going to win this political battle against Marxists and Alinskyites by polite objection is ludicrous. These mugs play to win, and we better start doing likewise if we want to limit the already massive misery that has and will be suffered.
So, I think this fellow should be hounded out of Lund University, for a start.
Unfortunately, the professors at Swedish Universities have life long contracts.

Pat Condell has made a video with the title “Goodbye Sweden”. Dear Pat does only partially know what he is talking about. The reality is much, much worse than he describes it.
Pat Condell sounds like an Antipodean to me from his accent but I believe he resides in what used to be called the Mother Country. Has he yet or could he soon make a video called Goodbye England for aren’t already ahead of Sweden?
