What the Heck?

As you all know by now, there was another assassination attempt on Donald Trump this afternoon at the former president’s golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida. Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, the alleged would-be assassin, is allegedly shown in the photo above. What I want to know is: what the heck are those button-like things on either side of his chest? Readers are invited to share any (reasonable, not too wacky) theories in the comments.

I’ll assume you’re familiar with the general outlines of what happened, so I’ll just paste a few odds and ends that Vlad and I found in various places on the Interwebs.

The quotes below are from various media sources. I didn’t hang on to the URLs, but if you check the news feed later tonight, you’ll find a lot of material there.

Voter records indicate that he was an unaffiliated voter but did vote in the Democratic primary in Guilford County.

Social media posts allegedly belonging to Routh indicate he was a believer in COVID-19 conspiracy theories, and he had posted that he had voted for Trump in 2016 but was disappointed with him after the fact, expressing support for Tulsi Gabbard in various posts.

The North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections has records for Routh going back to 2002. That year, he barricaded himself inside a business with a gun in Greensboro, per the News & Record.

He’s starting to look like a composite character.

CNN chief law enforcement and intelligence analyst John Miller reported Sunday afternoon that Routh’s social media accounts have focused on his “self-proclaimed involvement” in the war in Ukraine, including his supposed effort to recruit soldiers to fight in the conflict. Routh also claimed to have fought in Ukraine as it continues to hold off Russia’s invasion.

Routh appears to have previously spoken with The New York Times about his effort to recruit Afghan soldiers who fled the Taliban to fight in Ukraine. At the time of the report, which was published on March 25, 2023, Routh told the Times that he had spent several months in Ukraine in 2022.

A Semafor report published on March 10, 2023, cited Routh as the head of the International Volunteer Center (IVC) in Ukraine, a private organization that works to “empower volunteers” and other non-profit groups that work to “enhance the distribution of humanitarian aid throughout Ukraine,” according to the IVC’s website.

In a June 2022 interview with Newsweek Romania, Routh spoke about his efforts to recruit volunteers for the International Legion Defense of Ukraine, a unit of Ukraine’s Ground Forces.

The guy’s really got form:

The Associated Press previously reported that Routh was convicted in 2002 of possessing a weapon of mass destruction, per online North Carolina Department of Adult Correction records but could not provide details about the case.

A December 2002 story by News & Record in Greensboro, North Carolina, said that a man with the same name was arrested after a three-hour standoff with police.

Routh was reportedly charged with carrying a concealed weapon and possessing a weapon of mass destruction, “referring to a fully automatic machine gun.”

Ceramic plates for extra body armor:

(NewsNation) — The man suspected in a second attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump fled Secret Service detection, leaving behind an AK-style rifle with a scope, two backpacks hanging on a fence and a GoPro camera. A ceramic tile found in one backpack was also being processed.

“Certainly, it appears to me that he was looking to go out in a blaze,” former FBI Senior Executive Joshua Skulke told NewsNation. “When you look at the ceramic tiles, the high-powered rifle, he was certainly prepared for a confrontation.”

“I think it looks a lot like those are ceramic plates usually used for protection against high-powered rifles. A lot of military and law enforcement wear them in a high-risk operation,” Skulke said. “It allows … them better protection than the flak jacket or bulletproof vest they’re wearing. That’s what it looks like to me.”

And nobody scoops the Daily Mail, which managed to track down the dude’s son and get some quotes from him.

  1. I spent 16 years in that agency, four in Miami. My jaw dropped when I saw the special agent in charge speak today; he was literally, the dumbest guy I ever worked alongside – so they promoted him to SAIC. That said, the nutjobs we encountered on a daily basis made one numb. I don’t know what those dots are, but rest assured they perform no useful functionality to a rational.

  2. I think the “AK47” is in fact an SKS carbine. You can see the long barrel, and the gas tube very close to it. An AK has a short barrel and a distinct gap between it and the gas tube. However, the ten round fixed magazine seems to have been replaced with a 30 round AK magazine, a common modification. I would have expected the sheriff to have known the difference.

Was this man a lone wolf or part of a deep state operation? At this point, does it matter?

  3. In the order of probability:

1.) They might have been caused by a hard body armour worn too long or too often.

2.) Swollen lymph nodes — symptoms of a very serious, possibly lethal, condition that could be connected to the possible fact that he had had little to lose (or much to gain) before he got an unrefusable offer to [play?] political assassination…

3.) Normal muscles on a very thin but muscular body, in a strange light.

4.) Implanted devices for geolocation and/or remote-controlled murder. Would fit the theory that he [it?] is a tool.

5.) Genetic bone disorder. Might have taken a bit too much of the mrna goo. After all, he seems to believe The Narratives (like Ukraine) lock, stock, and barrel.

6.) That nuclear power plant hit by the Russians in Ukraine was indeed damaged…

7.) That’s where They hang their humanoid robots before use.

  4. Isn’t it strange that once there was another ‘American Sniper’ also called Routh?

    https://people.com/crime/american-sniper-trial-defense-psychiatrist-eddie-ray-routh-is-schizophrenic/

Murderer Eddie Ray Routh allegedly used to fake schizophrenia — however, Ryan Wesley Routh does look schizophrenic to me (actually that’s how I’ve found the story of the other Routh (Eddie): I searched for “Ryan Wesley Routh” plus “schizophrenia”).

Are the two three-named Rouths related, or those guys in the services have no imagination when they’re giving names to their tools…?

Are we seeing political theater (of assassination attempts)?

Also because the stories They’re telling us about the alleged assassination attempts against Trump do not add up the way they’re telling them (and they sound made-up)… But they do seem to make sense as Globalist Narratives designed to herd the flock…

  5. After checking some higher resolution images on google image search, it appears the dots are a reflection of something around the person who took the photo of the video camera’s monitor. The higher resolution image clearly shows “video” written in the corner – it’s been cropped out of this image. To the left of the head, you can see something that looks like a reflection of a cell phone’s edge. The dot’s appearance is inconsistent with being a part of the video camera’s graphic overlay. If it were attached to the body, it’d be pointing more down too and wouldn’t be so bright.

  6. I read that he wants someone to assassinate Putin and to take Russia and China down a notch – not caring if this leads to World War 3,4 or 5.
He also wants Lukashenko taken down and bemoans that there are no real men in the world. Only talk but no action.
Sounds like Antifa, because Antifa is capable of acting, but the other side not.
