Ukrainians Say: Germans Must Freeze to Death For Our Sake!

One of the causes of the natural gas shortage in Germany is the fact that a key turbine for the Nord Stream 1 pipeline has been taken offline for maintenance. It was sent to Canada for servicing (the manufacturer is Siemens, so it’s not clear to me why the repairs have to be made abroad), and has been stranded there by the sanctions against Russia. Siemens has been granted an exemption from the sanctions so that the turbine can be restored to service, but Ukrainian organizations are now fighting the decision in a Canadian court.

Regardless of what one may think of the war in Ukraine, or Russia, or German dependence on Russian natural gas, it’s unconscionable that Ukraine should be able interfere with German state policy about the country’s critical energy supplies. Talk about the tail wagging the dog — the Ukrainians are in effect demanding that Germans should freeze to death in support of their cause against Russia.

It will be interesting to see if they are successful.

Many thanks to Hellequin GB for translating this article from the Berliner Zeitung:

Gas turbine: Ukrainians sue Canada in federal court

A Siemens turbine was serviced in Canada. It is to be brought to Germany by plane. A Ukrainian organization is taking action against it.

The Association for the Rights of Ukrainians Abroad is taking action against the exemption permit for the delivery of the Siemens turbine for the Nord Stream 1 pipeline serviced in Canada. According to combined media reports, the non-governmental organization Ukrainian World Congress, which is supposed to represent Ukrainian interests abroad, said it had submitted an application for review to the Canadian Federal Court. It called for “the determination that the decision to grant Siemens a license was unreasonable and unjustified, and the cancellation of the license”.

Exemption from the sanctions not acceptable

At the end of last week, Ukraine had already criticized the planned delivery of the serviced Russian Nord Stream 1 turbine from Canada to Germany. The exception to the sanctions regime against Russia is therefore “completely unacceptable”. There are real alternatives to meet Germany’s gas needs, including buying through the Ukrainian pipeline. Canada’s Ministry of Defense did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.

Nord Stream 1 is currently shut down for maintenance work. According to the operating company, this is scheduled to last until July 21.

Afterword from the translator:

Is that what you call “biting the hand that feeds you”? The interference and this lawsuit are the height of impertinence and should be last straw.

  1. Yes, it is interesting how an organization based on national citizenship can have such influence on another nation other than its own, but this is the future if the nation state is reduced as an actual unit of organization in this world. Yes, I see the odd in that sentence, and please forgive me. We are still working from an Old Newspeak Dictionary.

    • An organisation based on national citizenship can have such influence on another nation State only when this organisation is strongly – even if unofficially – supported by some big supranational entity, be it formal or informal. In simpler terms, when such an organisation is used as a battering ram by some powerful external force.

  2. Who funds the NGO?

Anyone want to take the bet that Soros’s evil bloodstained hands are involved?

    • @ Moon

Yes, that tracks…. Soros is almost certainly involved somehow, somewhere.
Some old guys play bridge or golf as a hobby, Soros topples governments and undermines currencies for sport, and other such pursuits.

It should be borne in mind that the “Ukraine” as an independent nation does not really exist in the sense that it steers the course of its own affairs. This is the case because since 2014, Ukraine has been in the hands of the puppet government of Zelensky, who was installed by the U.S. and NATO powers after the western-led coup toppled the administration of the Yanukovych government. Thus, when “Ukraine” acts, one should substitute the U.S.A. instead in its place, specifically the Biden regime and its globalist clients… since they are the ones actually calling the shots.

It has been said, more or less accurately, that the western oligarchs are prepared to fight Russia to the last Ukrainian, or the last German, or the last Latvian… for these nations and their people are being used as proxies in the West’s war against Russia. Since Berlin is firmly within the orbit of Washington’s influence, the Germans have been told to take it on the chin in the name of the NWO. Or else risk their position in the western NATO alliance.

Since Germany is the lynch-pin of Europe in terms of her size and economic and political clout, the thinking probably goes that of Berlin can be brought into line, France and the rest of the nations in the alliance will fall into line also.

The member nations of NATO are playing a very dangerous game indeed, for all they are doing by dancing to Washington’s tune is assuring that if the balloon goes up and this conflict “goes hot,” that they will be on the targeting lists generated by Moscow.

If the member nations have any sense of self-preservation left at all, they ought to band together and in concert, do everything in their power to de-escalate the conflict which now looms before us. A conflict whose escalation is being pushed not by Moscow, but by Washington and the insane foreign policy hawks in Biden’s regime.

    • Yes, our conspiracy theorists also write that the goal is to isolate Russia and the West and bring down the economy of Europe.
But once De Gaulle dreamed of a Europe extending to the Pacific Ocean.

  4. Ukraine has always been archetypically perceived as a women rather than a man.
Ukraine behaves like a capricious woman who loves to manipulate.

  5. Nord stream 2 is gassed up and ready to go. The German Greens want it to be used in the event Nord Stream 1 fails.

  6. I was pretty sure the Berliner Zeitung article was a rehash when I read the return of the turbine was “völlig inakzeptabel”. In the original, the Canadian-led NGO filing the lawsuits uses the words “totally unacceptable”.

    See https://www.ukrainianworldcongress.org/uwc_news/uwc-files-legal-action-to-stop-return-of-turbine-to-russia/

In North America calling something unacceptable seems to mean: we feel compelled to complain, but in the end we will accept it. If anyone has a better translation, I am all ears.

    • Sorry, make that “lawsuit”. I am a bit tired. We had a fire in the night not more than 15–20m from my bedroom window. The fire department piped water into it from three sides of the block. Fortunately, the wind took the flames away from our row house and the one next door, but now everything smells of smoke.

  7. If we Germans should freeze to death my reaction is the one finger salute.

And afterwards I cheer for Vlad to win.
And if Vlad would get his act up (Politicians never seem to go hardcore and put the metal to the floor) then I will expect him at the polish-german border to guide his armored divisions to Berlin.

But, as I said, this will never happen.
They all talk the talk, but when it comes to walk the walk they all chicken out.

Where are the Stalin / Hitlers / Churchills, Roosevelt of today?
Those men were willing to let the Galaxy burn, they didnt chicken out.
