An evangelical church with a Haitian congregation in Montreal was deliberately set on fire and seriously damaged over the weekend. There’s no indication as yet that the incident was motivated by Islam. It could have been a disgruntled parishioner, an insurance scam, or a non-Muslim lunatic — there’s no way to tell. However, the fact that it was done intentionally using an accelerant, and occurred during the most sacred holiday of the Christian liturgical year, is indicative.

I truly feel sorry for these congregants. I hope the community will rally round and help them as they have muslim institutions.
I look forward to hearing who will allow them to hold services in their own religious sites.
