The Tomb is Empty

Happy Easter, everyone!

This is the first time I’ve missed an Easter Sunday service in more than thirty years. It’s disorienting and somewhat depressing — what am I doing here, typing on the keyboard, when I should be down there at church singing Easter hymns…?

Dymphna and I usually included some music in our Easter posts, so I’ll continue that tradition. This one is a change of pace: a bluegrass song entitled “My Father Owns”. The link was sent to me by the man who wrote it:

He is risen!

  1. and so will all the tombs of those who have put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ, our Risen Lord and Savior, when He sounds the trumpet that calls us home to Him. Amen
A blessed Easter to you and all of the watchers on the wall at the Gates of Vienna.

  2. He is Risen indeed.

And a note for non-believers. Being a good Christian is hard. But the culture resulting from that is better than other cultures I could name.

The US of A became a First World Country based on good values from Christianity.

For the UK, Muscular Christianity did muck good over the world. And some bad. But the balance is good.

  3. Happy Easter, All! Believers, knowers, and future knowers of His physical Resurrection. Present times remind of what was then a meager, sparse life, a simple life at best.

Throughout our current ordeal, I’m often these days reminded of the Ark opening scene, of the release of the “furies” from the Ark, aka Hollywood’s “Opening The Ark Full Scene: Indiana Jones And The Raiders Of The Lost Ark” https://youtu.be/Pr-8AP0To4k relating the release of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, potentially from the CCP Wuhan lab.

Remember, too, polio has a similar high asymptomatic rate, 75%, vs. SARS-CoV-2 with around (presumed so far~(25-75%)) 50% asymptomatic. This asymptomatic issue causes much greater difficulty in control, until antibody tests are massively available. Polio has not yet been eliminated either, but endemic in only 3 countries. Similarities, details, seen here, https://ourworldindata.org/polio.

Many are becoming confirmed believers, after listening to the likes of noted you tube and inperson lectures by James Tour, Hugh Ross, Gary Haberman, others. Science, history, archaeology are yielding new absolute certain proofs of events before, during, and after Jesus 750 years prior predicted life and death, in the first Covenant “witnesses”-writers like Isaah53, several other writers BC, and all the disciple witnesses of the 2nd Covenant, revealed-were recorded.

His new commandment, as preached by Jesus at the Seder, the day before his crucifixion and death, John’s Gospel, Chapter 13:
34A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
35By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

  4. Happy Easter to all Christians all over the world a specially in Europe, pray for better Easter next Year , this whole thing is just ridiculous..

  5. Adding this, core of 2nd Covenant, and a special musical arrangement, on a cloudy, amazing mountain top moment…
    Matthew 28:1-10

After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.

There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it.

His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.

The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.

The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.

He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.

Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”

So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.

Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him.

Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”

Once, twice, I rose on a Beaver Creek chairlift, Easter sunrise service, into the clouds, before dawn, silently, mystically, wherein this scene reminds of the “gift” I experienced, in the ’90s, first time ever an Easter sunrise service, actually. Many others, not sunrise, and then, this “gift”, even then, again the next year, mystically….

  6. He IS risen indeed. Happy Easter to all. In the name of Jesus Christ who is the ONLY mediator between God and man. And to you Save Europe THERE IS NOT A BAD EASTER. You should be grateful for this day in history.

  7. Happy Easter to y’all. As a non-believer and skeptic I do wish all of you who believe – the best you want and deserve, overcoming the current hardship and optimism to the years to come.

(The symbolic message of his Resurrection is something dear to me, mainly on emotional level. Civilizational significance of Christianity is beyond any doubt even for many non-religious).

    • Just as the Jews who were enslaved in Egypt were instructed to paint the door posts and lintel (header) with the blood of the Passover Lamb that they had just slain so the Death Angel would “Passover” their home and not kill anyone in the household, we are instructed to paint the doorposts and lintel of the door to our heart with the blood of the Lamb of God that was slain so that the death angel would “pass over” our hearts and not smite us and consign us to hell. Oh, and the vertical brush stroke that paints the lintel along with the horizontal brush stroke that paints the door posts results in a cross being painted on the door, (to the house and/or the heart).
Before Christ came the Jews and whoever else, had to remember the Passover in Spring and confess their sins during Yom Kippur in the fall EVERY year because the blood of earthly lambs could only cover sin, not take it away. Jesus promised eternal rest for those who would accept Him as the Lamb of God and His sacrifice on the Cross. His resurrection sealed the deal as neither death, nor grave, nor hell could undo what He had accomplished for us.
BTW, Jesus showed up in Jerusalem on the exact day that the Angel Gabriel told Daniel the prophet He would, about 500 years previous. Zechariah’s prophesied chronicle of Holy Week reads like he was the proverbial ‘fly on the wall reporter’ that no one seems to notice, until their story shows up in the morning news. The fact that no human could make this up or even arrange and self-fulfill these events is what sold me after having been brought up Catholic and being lied to. When Yah told Isaiah that He alone is God, declaring what is to come before it occurs, and will perform all that He has spoken, and I had dug up the proof of what He had said in the books of the prophets, I chose to fully believe all that He had said because He is God and is good to His Word, which is a lot more than I can say about most humans that I have encountered in my 65+ really odd years here on this planet.

  8. My Easter is next sunday.Whose is the real one i do not know and it does not mater.I hope you all,in the West Europe
    ,had a very happy Easter.

  9. I believe that painting the lintels had absolutely NOTHING TO do with the cross. and it has nothing to do with crossing your heart. That is Catholic myth and is certainly not in the Holy Bible which is the ONLY authority on matters of Jewish history. But I really like the fact that you converted to Jesus Christ the ONLY Mediator between God and Man. I Timothy2:5 It was a pleasure to read your thoughts.

  10. I hear the Roman authorities are seeking Jesus for leaving his tomb, thus breaking quarantine. And no, I’m not mocking the sincerely held beliefs of Christians (which I quite envy); God must have a sense of humour, or he wouldn’t have made humans.
