As promised yesterday, here’s a video in which Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini talks about the latest migrant-ferry vessel that is trying to run the blockade at the island of Lampedusa. The celebrity Richard Gere happens to be aboard that boat.
In other remarks not recorded in this video, Mr. Salvini said, “[Richard Gere] can take back to Hollywood, on his private plane, all the people aboard and support them in his villas.”

This is something that I have never understood about the do-gooders: why don’t they support these people through legal channels. Gere has enough money to sponsor people; why doesn’t he? He could also get his fellow perverts who have too much money on their hands to chip in. Why does he want to these people to partake in a kind of amazing race across oceans and deserts?
I always found Mr Gere’s gerbil troubles to be amusing if a little unfair, and cut him a lot of slack over what he endured by the innuendos to his reputation. I enjoyed Officer and a Gentleman, and such a movie could never be made today due to it’s many subversive messages.
It is therefore disappointing to see that he is every bit as much a moron as the rest of his fellow actors, and I can only suppose that either he truly is a moron and believes what he says, or he is a virtue signaler who has no trouble with the human misery that would be caused should the cause he agitates for be achieved in large numbers. It is always easy to be generous with other people’s money and consequences to their lives, especially if one can do so from within the safety of their gated, secured compound.

Think of Tom Sawyer and his conniving his friends to do work (=suffer the consequences of having wall-to-wall Muslims) and getting them to pay to do the work to boot (=taxation).
