Trump or the Tramp?

One of the more interesting twists in these last few weeks of the presidential election campaign has been the increasing support of black men for Donald Trump. The trend obviously has the Democrats worried, as evidenced by the blatant pandering of the “Opportunity Agenda for Black Men” announced last week by the Kamala Harris campaign. I’m not sure that the target demographic is as stupid as Ms. Harris thinks they are, however — young black men usually have a good sense of when they’re being played.

The movement of black men towards Donald Trump really got going after he was arrested, and the famous mug shot was publicized. That’s when the #Niggas4Trump hashtag started trending, and young black vloggers began enthusing over Mr. Trump using boisterous ghetto argot.

I don’t follow sports, but I saw the news that two well-known African-American football players named Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown endorsed Mr. Trump at his rally yesterday in Pennsylvania: @AB84 and @LeVeonBell have arrived at the Trump rally.

A quick scroll through Mr. Brown’s Twitter account uncovers a lot of tweets supporting Mr. Trump and the MAGA movement. Examples: “If you don’t vote for Trump you ain’t black” and Nigga of the Decade.

Earlier in Detroit, a retired boxer named Thomas “Hitman” Hearns joined Donald Trump onstage:

Former President Trump held a rally in the Detroit area, and he invited a local legend to the stage.

The three-time Republican presidential nominee was at Huntington Place in downtown Detroit, and, before he took the stage, he took a photo with boxing legend Thomas “Hitman” Hearns, a Detroit native.

Trump then spotted Hearns in the audience and invited him to the stage.

“I won so much money betting on this guy. … Some of the greatest fights in history,” Trump said.

“One of the greatest fights of all time, and man, I’ll tell you what, he was something special.”

Hearns eventually joined Trump on the stage and seemed in disbelief.

“Hearing those nice words coming from you, man, this can’t be real… Hearing it come from you, I’m very excited. I want to fight now.”

I don’t know how large the trend is, but I’ve never seen so many black men endorsing a Republican candidate, whether black or white. And when Mr. Trump cooked fries and handed food to customers today at a McDonald’s drive-through window, black customers and employees seemed to respond positively to him. He has a deft touch with ordinary people, displaying no phoniness or condescension, and that may appeal to working-class blacks, and not just to whites.

He’s also fearless — after two failed assassination attempts, he stood at that drive-through window and greeted customers with complete aplomb. It must have given the Secret Service heartburn.

There’s no telling how the election will turn out. If the Powers That Be don’t want Mr. Trump to have a second term, I sure they can find enough boxes of extra votes in the wee hours of November 6 to push Cackling Kamala across the finish line.

But consider this: those extra ballots are engineered in big cities where Democrats have complete control of the election process, and the street-level grunt work required for making those “votes” appear is largely performed by African-American cogs in the party machine. What happens when a significant portion of the black community shifts its support to Donald Trump? Will there be enough hands willing to carry the extra boxes in from the closets and loading bays and scan them through the tabulating machines?

Furthermore, consider this: it seems intuitively likely that the #Niggas4Trump cohort of black men don’t usually vote. This means that projections based on previous elections may not be reliable. How many young inner-city homies will be turning out to vote in a presidential election for the first time, and casting their vote for Donald Trump?

It used to be unthinkable that a Democrat candidate might get less than two-thirds of the black vote, but here in the home stretch of the 2024 campaign it’s quite thinkable. If this were a real election, instead of a Potemkin one, the defection of a third of the African-American vote would spell doom for the Democrat Party.

But this isn’t a real election. If for some reason the Deep State wants Donald Trump to win, they’ll let him win. If they don’t want him to win, then they’ll find enough illegal immigrant votes for Kamala to bury him. Or, if necessary, they’ll bury him using more kinetic means. In either case, the Deep State will decide the outcome of the election.

Nevertheless, the last two weeks of the campaign are shaping up to be VERY entertaining.
