IMF Trims Global Growth Outlook as Banking Turmoil Raises Risk of Hard Landing

The International Monetary Fund on Tuesday cut its global growth outlook for the year, warning the world economy faces the increased risk of a “hard landing” due to continued fallout from a spate of bank failures, higher interest rates and stubborn inflation.

The Washington-based institution said in its latest World Economic Outlook that global gross domestic product will grow by just 2.8% this year — which represents a 0.1 percentage point decline from its previous forecast in January — before rising to 3% in 2024.

Biden White House Played Role in FBI Raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Home: Documents

Authored by Tom Ozimek via The Epoch Times (emphasis ours),

Documents obtained by America First Legal Foundation (AFLF) suggest that the Biden White House was involved in the FBI raid on former President Donald Trump’s home in Florida by way of a “special access request,” calling into question statements by Biden administration officials that the White House did not interfere and did “not get involved.”

Specifically, the AFLF documents call into question the Biden administration’s claim that the Office of Inspector General (OIG) of the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) made a “referral” to the FBI over the purportedly classified documents at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence without any involvement from the White House.

CDC “Behavior Change” Project Targeted Vaccine Critics, Was Funded by Pfizer and New York “Misinformation Response Unit”

The benevolently named Public Good Projects (PGP) describes itself as a public health nonprofit with focus on “large-scale media monitoring programs, social and behavior change interventions.”

A new report is now shedding more light of how the system of censorship and deplatforming of Covid vaccine skeptics worked at the height of the pandemic, including the intricate ties between a number of actors, such as the PGP, and their partners.

One of them is the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) non-profit called the CDC Foundation (the CDC itself was established by Congress). Other partners include FDA, Kaiser Permanente, Rockefeller, and Humana, as per the Tennessee Department of Health, which cites these as part of the bio of the PGP CEO, Dr. Joe Smyser.

And the Public Goods Project in the past received funding not from lobbyists for just any corporate players but those strongly interested in stomping out any vaccine hesitancy — namely, vaccine manufacturers like Pfizer and Moderna.

“This Nashville shooting has been erased from memory even though it happened very recently because it’s such an inconvenient narrative given that the shooter was not just someone who was trans but very possibly acted on behalf of this radical ideology,” Greenwald told Kelly.

Video footage shows the suspect, Karen Ivery, getting knocked out when she aggressively menaced store employees after she was denied.

Ivery rolled her cart up to a Target cashier with around $1,000 worth of goods.

She didn’t have enough money and demanded Target pay the balance of her bill, claiming she was owed reparations.

Donald Tusk Will Not Avoid Being Tied to Corruption Scandal, Warns Polish MEP

Poland’s liberal opposition leader, Donald Tusk, is under tremendous pressure as a Belgian police investigation regarding corruption ramps up, said former Polish labor minister and MEP for the ruling conservative Law and Justice (PiS), Elzbieta Rafalska.

Rafalska said the Civic Platform (PO), the main Polish opposition party led by Tusk, has decided to cancel a planned session of the European People’s Party (EPP) in Poland. This action shows that the grouping is seriously concerned about the evolving corruption scandal, which recently saw the EPP offices searched by Belgian police.

According to Rafalska, Polish opposition politicians are concerned that the affair could affect Tusk and the party he leads in Poland. This, Rafalska feels, is inevitable given the fact that the police investigation covers the period when Tusk was the leader of the party.

EU Nations Quarrel About 1 Million Artillery Shells Promised to Ukraine

A few weeks ago, the European Union was quick to prepare a solution on the growing ammunition shortage in Ukraine. Under the decision of the member states, the European Peace Facility, which is now directed towards war, will be swelled by 2 billion euros to fund two separate plans, the main aim being to send 1 million rounds of ammunition to Kyiv over the next 12 months.

It should be noted that while Hungary will pay into the fund, the country wishes to exercise its right of constructive abstention.

There was a compelling reason for the mad rush. Ukrainian arms stocks are dwindling, and Western supplies cannot replace artillery shells as fast as the Ukrainian army is using them up.

The biggest problem is the 155 mm rounds, which have proven the most effective so far in what is now clearly an artillery war. However, production capacity is very tight (Ukraine shoots the annual U.S. production volume in a month), and a problem has emerged that significantly reduces potential quantities: Arms manufacturers would insist on long-term contracts because of the huge investment risk, which governments in the U.S. and the EU are reluctant to sign.

Polish Farmers Continue Protests Over Ukrainian Grain Supplies Despite Preliminary Deal to End Crisis

On Friday, the agriculture ministers of Poland and Ukraine reached a preliminary agreement on resolving the grain crisis. However, representatives of the protesting farmers do not intend to end the protest.

“Nothing changes,” said Wladyslaw Serafin, president of the Agricultural Circles Association, during an interview with RMF FM commercial radio. “We will not back down in Szczecin, Warsaw, or any other region, if the government does not postpone specific documents and regulations by April 15. We are not interested in political schemes and declarations. We will organize protests and blockades in every region,” he added.

As announced, a three-day protest is scheduled to begin at the Dorohusk border crossing on Wednesday, April 12. Farmers want to block the flow of goods from Ukraine to Poland.

Protestors Disrupt President Macron’s Speech in the Hague

Demonstrators disrupted French President Emmanuel Macron’s speech on Tuesday in The Hague. Several protesters shouted at him from the balcony, while holding unfurled banners. On one, Macron was described as the “president of violence and hypocrisy.” The demonstrators referred to the ongoing large-scale protests in France in response to a controversial law extending the retirement age from 62 to 64 that Macron pushed through last month without a vote by the National Assembly.

Macron had only just begun his speech on the future of Europe as part of his state visit to the Netherlands when he was interrupted by a man in the audience, saying, “Sorry to interrupt you, Mr. President.” He was applauded by two women elsewhere in the audience.

“Where has French democracy gone?” cried out one of them. Macron listened to them and tried to deliver a response, but the protesters shouted him down.

“I can answer this question if you give me the time,” he told the protesters.

After about 30 seconds, the three activists were removed from the Amare concert hall. One of the women resisted her removal, and left screaming loudly.

Caroline Glick: Netanyahu Speaks to the Generals

The Israeli public reasonably expected a dramatic announcement was coming when the Prime Minister’s Bureau announced Monday afternoon that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would give a prime-time press conference that evening from the Prime Minister’s Office at the Defense Ministry in Tel Aviv rather than the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem. Over the past several days, Israel has found itself in the midst of a simultaneous and coordinated assault. It has suffered terror attacks countrywide and rocket volleys from Gaza, Lebanon and Syria.

And Iran is on the cusp of independent military nuclear capabilities.

On its face, though, Netanyahu’s press conference did not provide the expected drama. His rendering of the situation was minimalist and descriptive, rather than analytic or thematic. He noted Iran in passing. He described with near antiseptic spareness the retaliatory attacks Israel has carried out against rocket stores and other military infrastructure in Lebanon, Syria and Gaza, and its counterterror operations in Judea and Samaria. He praised the IDF and Israel’s other security services. Netanyahu did not gather the public in front of their television sets at 8:15 in the evening to declare war.

So why did Netanyahu do it?

To understand his purpose, and why despite the absence of any major statement, Netanyahu’s press conference was a dramatic event, it has to be viewed in the context of news that hit Israel like a thunderclap the day before…

British General Says Ukraine War Could Last for ‘Decades’

General Sir Richard Barrons is a former commander of the British Joint Forces Command and is now chairman of the defense and security company, Universal Defense & Security Solutions.

He spoke to RFE/RL’s Georgian Service about the constraints on both sides of Russia’s war on Ukraine, the importance of industrial transformation in a drawn-out conflict, and offered a bleak forecast for the course of the war.

RFE/RL: What have we learned after one year of warfare in Ukraine? And where are we now?

Sir Richard Barrons: There are some lessons at a very high level, particularly for Europe. And the first of those is that we haven’t somehow grown out of fighting in a way that some people wanted to believe at the end of the Cold War in 1990. And we’re being reminded by the war in Ukraine that war is part of the human existence. And even if you would prefer it was not so, there is no guaranteed immunity from it. And as [Prussian] General von Clausewitz says, “You may not choose war, but war can choose you.” And when it occurs, it is the same brutal, feral, dangerous, usually disappointing business it has been for millennia. And yet, at least once a generation, we feel the need to reacquaint ourselves with that thought.

And the second thing it has reminded us [of] is that big wars — and the war in Ukraine is a big war — are fought, won, and lost by civilians, as the war becomes not something that is just conducted by the professional, regular armed forces in the way Western armies principally took part in Iraq and Afghanistan and Balkan interventions in the 1990s. These big wars, where the survival of the state is at stake, which is the case in Ukraine, are fought by citizens who are mobilized and industry that is mobilized. And you can see that actually now, on both sides, in this war in Ukraine, that it’s being fought by Ukrainian citizens who a year ago, in many cases less than a year ago, were teachers, nurses, mechanics, whatever; and increasingly, on the Russian side, the manpower is being mobilized from civil society. So again, people who were not professional soldiers.

Russia Using Space Weapons in Ukraine: US General

Russia has Earth-based lasers capable of attacking satellites, electronic jamming equipment, and anti-satellite missiles, according to Gen. B. Chance Saltzman, chief of space operations for the U.S. Space Force.

Ukraine Resumes Electricity Exports Despite Russian Attacks

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Ukraine began resuming electricity exports to European countries on Tuesday, its energy minister said, a dramatic turnaround from six months ago when fierce Russian bombardment of power stations plunged much of the country into darkness in a bid to demoralize the population.

The announcement by Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko that Ukraine was not only meeting domestic consumption demands but also ready to restart exports to its neighbors was a clear message that Moscow’s attempt to weaken Ukraine by targeting its infrastructure did not work.

Ukraine’s domestic energy demand is “100%” supplied, he told The Associated Press in an interview, and it has reserves to export due to the “titanic work” of its engineers and international partners.

Hindu Girl Meena Kolhi Gang Raped by the Peaceful Muslims for 14 Months & Other Stories of Hindu Persecution in Islamic Pakistan

After 14 months Hindu girl Meena Kolhi returned home to Khipro Sanghar after being forcefully converted-married-and-gang-raped by Muslim criminals and police.

Ranjeet Rana | HENB | Karachi | April 11, 2023:: A few days ago, the kidnapped Hindu girl Meena Kolhi reached her home at Khipro Sanghar in Sindh after 14 months. In a video uploaded by Narain Bheel of the ‘Hindus Organisation of Sindh’, it is seen that the victim is narrating her ordeal that she was abducted within three days after her marriage and forcefully converted to Islam. Then she was married to one of her abductors Iqbal Bambhro. But the matter was not ended in such a condition, she was kept captive for fourteen months when she was being gang-raped day and night. All these were done Islamically by peaceful Muslims.

In the video, Meena told: After 3 days of my marriage, when I came to my parent’s house, one Iqbal Bambhro took me to the court by blackmailing me and told me to convert to Islam, or else he will shoot me.

When the interviewer asked Meena, Had you accepted Islam out of your own happiness? Meena replied:

No, I did not accept of my own free will, I was threatened and threatened to be shot. When I was married to a man Iqbal Bhanbhro, other people used to rape me.

Meena took the names of 5 _6 people who used to rape regularly including Mustaq and Razzak.

Telling her ordeal, Meena added: I was kept locked in a room for 14 months. As soon as I got a chance, I ran away from there and came to my parent’s house. Those people harassed me during the day and the police harassed me at night.

When asked how she came to her parents, Meena replied: My parents have not brought me, I have come here on my own.

It is not the case for Meena, hundreds of minority Hindu girls and women are abducted in Sindh in Pakistan at gunpoint and forcefully converted, married, and raped by the friends and family members of the Muslim abductors.

Taking his Twitter handle, for the last couple of days, Narain Das Bheel uploaded many videos in which the pathetic conditions of Hindu minorities of Pakistan clearly made a severe shock for the people concerned for the minority rights in Pakistan.

Narian Das conveyed: *Justice could not be served to the Daya Bheel…….* Face, hair, and body blood samples could not match those of all the accused. It is noted that only relatives of Daya Bheel were arrested to save the real culprits.

Daya Bheel was murdered and beheaded by Muslim culprits in December last year. The accused are freed but police and investigation agencies kept their lip tightened to say something to apprehend the murderer(s) of Daya Bheel.

On April 10, Narain Das reported through tweeter that Hindu Woman Kimi Kohli daughter of Prabhu Kohli has been forcibly married to Abdul Qadir Jamaili, and converted to Islam in Odero Lal Village, Matiari, Sindh…

Right-leaning news channel Sky News Australia has announced that it would discontinue publishing to the popular Chinese app TikTok in an effort to protect its reporters and audiences from security risks.

Sky called TikTok a “spy network masquerading as a social media platform,” saying the risks of being on TikTok are “far too great for any serious news publisher to ignore” while the gains are “negligible at best.”

The media also criticised other outlets and journalists who reported the platform’s use as a tool for soft power and foreign interference, then later jumped on TikTok themselves. Sky News described TikTok as a “vanity exercise” for media companies who deemed “arbitrary viewership figures” more important than the fact that they “cannot be monetised in any meaningful way.”

Migrant Boat With 400 People Aboard is Adrift in Mediterranean, Taking on Water

On Sunday, a distress alert was issued that a ship from North Africa with 400 migrants on board was drifting out of control between Malta and Greece. NGOs have reported that many of the migrants on board the barge are panicking, as the ship’s fuel has completely run out, the lower deck is full of water, the captain has abandoned the boat, and there is no one to steer the vessel.

Woke AI Means the End of a Free Internet

by Daniel Greenfield

Big Tech has a great big dream of destroying the internet. And it’s mostly a reality.

The vision of the internet was an open universe while Big Tech’s vision is the internet reduced to the feed on a few proprietary apps preloaded on your locked phone. Trying to censor the internet of the 90s or the 00s was a laughable proposition, but censoring today’s internet is laughably easy. Want to eliminate a site from the internet? Just wipe it from Google, ban a point of view from Facebook, a book from Amazon, or a video from YouTube. It’s still possible to browse a site off the Big Tech reservation, for now, at least until your browser goes away.

Then content will be limited to the permitted apps on Google and Apple’s proprietary app stores. But Big Tech has even more ambitious plans to replace the internet with itself.

Big Tech has dramatically simplified the user experience off the internet. It did so by moving users from ‘pulling’ content by browsing the internet to ‘pushing’ content at them by displaying a feed. When your computer or phone shows you a news feed you never wanted, that’s ‘pushing’. Big Tech loved pushing, but people resisted it until the arrival of social media reduced everyone to scrolling down a feed selected by secret algorithms and pushed through a proprietary app.

Search, as we used to know it, has been disappearing. People still think that they’re searching the internet the way that they used to in the 90s and the 00s when what they’re actually doing when ‘googling’ is scrolling through a feed derived from a much smaller index of corporate and leftist sites prioritized by Google’s algorithm. In the past, it was possible to get past them by scrolling through page results but that is increasingly becoming meaningless or impossible…
