Climate Bills in Oregon Criticized for Negatively Impacting Rural Farming Communities
Climate bills in the Oregon legislature are being criticized for potential devastation of rural communities and could possibly fuel further inflation.
One of the bills titled House Bill 3158, the “Clean Diesel Engine Tax” would add new taxes to off-road machinery, such as that used in farming and logging.

Green Bay Man Charged in Stabbing at Islamic Society of Wisconsin
GREEN BAY ? A 22-year-old Green Bay man was charged Friday for reportedly stabbing his 52-year-old family member at the Islamic Society of Wisconsin in February.

A Louisiana judge threw the book at a man convicted of raping a juvenile ordering the pervert to be chemically castrated before he is released back into society.

Ohio Legislation Would Stop State Law Enforcement From Enforcing Federal Gun Laws
A bill that would stop Ohio law enforcement officers from enforcing federal gun regulations that are more restrictive than state law is drawing opposition from country prosecutors, chiefs of police and mayors.
Rep. Jean Schmidt, R-Loveland, called the proposed legislation a response to federal regulations she said infringes on Second Amendment rights.

A civilian helped stop an armed suspect Thursday, who was fleeing from police officers in New York City.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office Southern District of New York, the suspect, Jason Fleming, was arrested on March 16 after he brandished loaded firearms in broad daylight after a dispute in a bodega in Chelsea.

Opposition parties in France’s National Assembly, including Marine Le Pen’s populist National Rally (RN) and the centrist Liot group, filed motions of no-confidence in President Emmanuel Macron’s government on Friday after it used a controversial mechanism to pass a contentious increase to the pension age without a vote on Thursday.
The fate of the government of Emmanuel Macron, who once proclaimed that he would govern France like Jupiter, the Roman king of the gods, was thrown into question on Friday as a growing coalition from across the political spectrum lined up to table measures of censure (no confidence) in his government in response to Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne invoking article 49.3 of the constitution to ram through legislation to raise the retirement age from 62 to 64 without a vote after it appeared that it would not gain a majority in the National Assembly.

Just Stop Oil protesters blocked traffic in Bristol as part of a demonstration today (March 18). Around 60 campaigners took part in the city centre protest where they “marched slowly”.
Activists gathered at Queen Square at around 1pm to “demand that ministers stop investing in fossil fuel extraction”. The group’s spokesman posted on Facebook: “Enough is enough. Stand against this failing regime.”

A fight over a boy may have driven two twisted schoolgirls to stab a 12-year-old classmate to death, as comments from their fellow pupils on TikTok have emerged in a case which continues to horrify Germany.
The two killers, aged 12 and 13, allegedly posted a sick video of themselves dancing on TikTok the day after they had stabbed their victim — named only as Luise — more than 30 times.
It has since emerged that Luise, who went missing after leaving the 13-year-old girl’s house in Freudenberg, was killed by her two classmates ‘in revenge’ after she told an adult they had been bullying her for months, according to German newspaper Bild.

Dozens of Russian Missiles, Drones Strike Ukraine
KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Widespread Russian attacks continued in Ukraine following the International Criminal Court’s decision to issue an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russia’s commissioner for children’s rights.
Ukraine was attacked by 16 Russian drones on Friday night, the Ukrainian Air Force said in the early hours of Saturday. Writing on Telegram, the air force command said that 11 out of 16 drones were shot down “in the central, western and eastern regions.” Among the areas targeted were the capital, Kyiv, and the western Lviv province.

MH17: Netherlands, Australia Press Case Against Russia for Damages
The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) will hear the case of the Netherlands and Australia against Russia for the downing of flight MH17, according to Minister Wopke Hoekstra of Foreign Affairs on Twitter. “Encouraging news for the loved ones of the victims.”
The civil aviation organization rejected Russia’s objections, Hoekstra tweeted. “This is an important step towards establishing the truth, justice and accountability. Together with Australia, we will continue to do everything in our power to find closure for the loved ones of the 298 victims of the flight.”
In mid-November, three suspects in the MH17 trial were convicted in absentie and sentenced to life imprisonment for their involvement in shooting down the flight on July 17, 2014, over eastern Ukraine. All 298 people on board, including 196 Dutch citizens, were killed.
A year ago, the Netherlands and Australia approached the civil aviation organization, ICAO, to demand compensation from Russia for the MH17 disaster. “After Russia terminated negotiations with the Netherlands and Australia in 2020, we brought the case to the ICAO. Russia believed that the ICAO had no authority in this matter, but they have now been proven wrong,” tweeted Minister Mark Harbers of Infrastructure and Water Management.

Russia is preparing to widen conscription in order to shore up its military strength, according to British intelligence.
In its Saturday update on the course of the war in Ukraine, Britain’s Ministry of Defence (MoD) observed that members of the State Duma — the lower house of Russia’s federal legislature — had “introduced a bill to change the age bracket for conscription to men aged 21-30 years, from the current 18-27.”

An agreement allowing Ukraine to ship grain from its Black Sea ports was due to expire on Saturday.
A deal allowing the export of Ukrainian grain over the Black Sea, which had been due to expire on Saturday, has been renewed, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the United Nations have announced.
The agreement was concluded after talks with Russia and Ukraine, Erdogan said in a speech in the western city of Canakkale on Saturday, but he did not specify how long the extension of the deal was for.

Drunk African Illegal Attacks Woman With Broken Bottle in France
A severely drunk illegal migrant from Africa was arrested for beating and gashing a woman with a bottle in France last week, according to reports.
The disturbing incident unfolded at around 6 p.m. last Friday evening in Annemasse, a French city near Geneva, Switzerland.
A woman had just left her job at a pharmacy in the town center and was preparing to step into her car when a man ambushed her and struck her in the head with a beer bottle.
When the bottle broke, the suspect then used it to slash the woman multiple times in the face.
Bystanders eventually managed to subdue the assailant until police arrived.

Migrants could be deported to Rwanda within months after Suella Braverman sealed the Government’s hardline policy with a visit to the African country yesterday.

A group of drag queens and activists dressed in black and white showed up on Friday at the Fayetteville Public Library in Fayetteville, Arkansas, to protest actor-writer Kirk Cameron’s story time event for families and children, according to book publisher Brave Books, whose staff were present at the reading.

California English Teacher Claims Exposing Kids to Drag No Different Than Teaching Shakespeare
A California English high school teacher — whose classroom sexually explicit materials previously led to a district-wide investigation — said that there was no difference between teaching kids Shakespeare plays and introducing them to drag, Fox News Digital is first reporting.

Wyoming Governor Signs a Law Banning Abortion Pills
Wyoming GOP Gov. Mark Gordon signed a bill that bans the selling of abortion pills in the Cowboy state.
There are already “trigger bans” on abortion pills in Wyoming and 12 other states including Alabama, Arkansas, South Dakota and Tennessee. Trigger bans were bans on most abortions set to go into effect if and when Roe v. Wade was overturned by the Supreme Court, which it was in June of 2022.
Wyoming is the first state to sign off on a separate piece of legislation outlawing the pills.
The ban is set to take effect in July if legal action does not block it.

S demand: Säpo must investigate Paludan’s “links” to the Kremlin

On Thursday, TV4 accused Danish-Swedish politician Rasmus Paludan of having links to the Russian private army Wagnergruppen. Now, TV4 has called in former Defense Minister Peter Hultqvist (S) and the Swedish Psychological Defense Agency to continue suspecting the Islamic critic. The former minister demands that Sweden’s various intelligence agencies investigate Paludan’s “connection” to the Kremlin.
The background is that Kalla fakta has found an account on the Russian social media site VKontakte which they suspect belongs to Paludan and which has “friends” allegedly belonging to the Wagner group.

Samnytt has spoken to Paludan and he makes no secret of the fact that he previously had an account on VK, but is skeptical of TV4’s claims that it is his account they have found.
– “It could very well not be my account. They say that the account controls a Stram Kurs page on VK, but I have never controlled any such page on VK.
He also said that he can no longer access the account, which was closed five years ago.
– But Stram Kurs has never had a page on VK, Paludan told Samnytt.

The weak evidence of Paludan’s “contact” with the Wagner group does not stop state-owned TV4 from continuing to cast suspicion on the politician. In a follow-up segment, Peter Hultqvist (S) is interviewed and demands that the government “get to the bottom” of Paludan’s alleged contacts. Hultqvist therefore wants to see the Swedish Security Service, among others, tasked with investigating the politician.
“Right-wing extremist environment involved”
– “If it is the case that we have provocateurs who may have links to foreign powers and also a course of events where a right-wing extremist environment is involved and it has an effect on such an important process as NATO membership, there is every reason to look at this,” says Peter Hultqvist (S) to TV4.

State psyche warrior: “That’s how they work”
TV4 has also called Mikael Tofvesson, former head of unit for “protection against information influence” at MSB and now head of operations at the Swedish Agency for Psychological Defense, to act as an expert and comment on Paludan’s alleged “contacts” with the Kremlin.
According to Tofvesson, the Wagner group is “central to the Russian state apparatus” and engages in influence campaigns, which allegedly enables cooperation.
– It is not unreasonable to assume that this would be the case, one must ask why they want to be friends with Paludan, why do they seek contact there. It could be to start a relationship or to start building an influence. That’s how they work,” says Mikael Tofvesson to TV4.
