“Disinformation Experts” Blame “Conspiratorial Narratives,” “Far-Right Websites,” for Silicon Valley Bank Panic

Just days after a Senator was caught asking whether there were systems in place to censor social media in an attempt to prevent a bank run, “disinformation experts” are partially blaming the Silicon Valley bank collapse exacerbation on online conspiracy theorists on social media.

“Russian media outlets, far-right websites, short sellers and doomsday preppers were among those who pushed and amplified conspiracy theories online focused on the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank,” Bloomberg alleges.

According to anti-disinformation for-profit firm Alethea, a wide range of accounts used the bank’s collapse to promote their own agendas.

AI Expert Warns of Too Much ‘Hype’: Humans Will Still be in Charge, Won’t be ‘Pets’ To New Tech

However, Robert J. In an interview with Fox News Digital, Marks, the Director of the Walter Bradley Center for Natural & Artificial Intelligence, suggested that the culture gets a lot wrong about the technology. He suggested, “I maintain that all technology goes through what I call a hype curve.”

Alan Dershowitz Overrules Manhatten DA, Says Trump Will Win on Appeal: “Highly Questionable Campaign Contribution Provision That Has Never Before Been Used in a Comparable Situation”

Alan Dershowitz broke his silence on the bombshell news that former President Donald Trump said he will be arrested Tuesday by the Manhattan District Attorney’s office. Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg is reportedly bringing criminal charges against Trump stemming from a $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels.

Alan said: “There are two systems of justice in the United States and our justice system is in deep trouble. We’ve created a special system of justice for Donald Trump. This is selective, targeted prosecution. The indictment itself if, it comes forward would be an act of hypercreativity.

“They have targeted Trump. The attorney general of New York ran on the campaign, Get Trump. Bragg essentially did the same thing. They rummaged for years to try to find something. They gave immunity to witnesses. They couldn’t find a real statute, so they put statutes together.”

Chicago Thief Sets New Record, Gets Busted With 38 Stolen Catalytic Converters Inside His Car

A Chicago thief set a new record for criminal behavior according to a Chicago media outlet. CWB Chicago is the most consistent media outlet covering crime in Chicago. They think Izarious Cannon, 22, set a new record when he was caught with 38 stolen catalytic converters.

“Thirty-eight catalytic converters inside the car?” a stunned Judge Maryam Ahmad asked a prosecutor during Cannon’s bail hearing yesterday. “Yes,” replied Assistant State’s Attorney Alexander Konetzki.

According to CWB Chicago: “Chicago cops have allegedly found people hauling twelve, twenty-four, even twenty-six stolen catalytic converters around town. But this may be a new record: Izarious Cannon, 22, is accused of having 38 stolen catalytic converters inside his car at a West Side gas station Thursday afternoon.”

Climate Bills in Oregon Criticized for Negatively Impacting Rural Farming Communities

Climate bills in the Oregon legislature are being criticized for potential devastation of rural communities and could possibly fuel further inflation.

One of the bills titled House Bill 3158, the “Clean Diesel Engine Tax” would add new taxes to off-road machinery, such as that used in farming and logging.

The Oregon Farm Bureau (OFB) came out against this bill, pointing out that it would tax virtually every piece of equipment that’s used in agriculture, plus the fuel and tires that are also necessary for its use.

The OFB added that this bill would put the burden on rural businesses with the cost of retrofitting trucks in the state’s largest metropolitan area.

NIAID Website Belies Longtime Director Fauci’s Claim to Have Urged ‘Open Mind’ on COVID Origin

Weeks after a second Department of Energy lab joined the FBI in asserting the lab-leak theory is the most likely explanation for COVID-19’s emergence, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases still maintains that anyone who questions the natural-origin theory is rejecting science.

The National Institutes of Health component led by Anthony Fauci for four decades has not updated its page on “SARS-CoV-2 and NIAID-supported Bat Coronavirus Research” since its apparent creation 17 months ago.

Its finger-wagging insistence on natural origin contradicts Fauci’s belated claim to have “stated repeatedly that we must keep an open mind” on the possibility of a lab leak, which he deemed a conspiracy theory from the start.

Ohio Legislation Would Stop State Law Enforcement From Enforcing Federal Gun Laws

A bill that would stop Ohio law enforcement officers from enforcing federal gun regulations that are more restrictive than state law is drawing opposition from country prosecutors, chiefs of police and mayors.

Rep. Jean Schmidt, R-Loveland, called the proposed legislation a response to federal regulations she said infringes on Second Amendment rights.

“This is a straightforward bill that will ensure Ohioan’s Second Amendment rights are not infringed. This bill eliminates references of the United States Code as they relate to gun laws in Ohio,” Schmidt said in testimony. “The ATF’s recent attempt to curtail Second Amendment rights by classifying legal handguns as illegal short-barrel rifles was a clear overreach of the federal government against law-abiding citizens. This bill helps to stand against these unlawful rules by ensuring that Ohio gun law is the standard for those who reside in Ohio.”

House Bill 51 would stop law enforcement officers, including prosecutors, from enforcing or attempting to enforce any federal acts, laws, executive orders, administrative orders, rules, regulations, statutes or ordinances infringing on the right to bear arms.

France: Jupiter Falling? Macron Govt in Jeopardy as Opposition Parties File Motions of No Confidence

Opposition parties in France’s National Assembly, including Marine Le Pen’s populist National Rally (RN) and the centrist Liot group, filed motions of no-confidence in President Emmanuel Macron’s government on Friday after it used a controversial mechanism to pass a contentious increase to the pension age without a vote on Thursday.

The fate of the government of Emmanuel Macron, who once proclaimed that he would govern France like Jupiter, the Roman king of the gods, was thrown into question on Friday as a growing coalition from across the political spectrum lined up to table measures of censure (no confidence) in his government in response to Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne invoking article 49.3 of the constitution to ram through legislation to raise the retirement age from 62 to 64 without a vote after it appeared that it would not gain a majority in the National Assembly.

MH17: Netherlands, Australia Press Case Against Russia for Damages

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) will hear the case of the Netherlands and Australia against Russia for the downing of flight MH17, according to Minister Wopke Hoekstra of Foreign Affairs on Twitter. “Encouraging news for the loved ones of the victims.”

The civil aviation organization rejected Russia’s objections, Hoekstra tweeted. “This is an important step towards establishing the truth, justice and accountability. Together with Australia, we will continue to do everything in our power to find closure for the loved ones of the 298 victims of the flight.”

In mid-November, three suspects in the MH17 trial were convicted in absentie and sentenced to life imprisonment for their involvement in shooting down the flight on July 17, 2014, over eastern Ukraine. All 298 people on board, including 196 Dutch citizens, were killed.

A year ago, the Netherlands and Australia approached the civil aviation organization, ICAO, to demand compensation from Russia for the MH17 disaster. “After Russia terminated negotiations with the Netherlands and Australia in 2020, we brought the case to the ICAO. Russia believed that the ICAO had no authority in this matter, but they have now been proven wrong,” tweeted Minister Mark Harbers of Infrastructure and Water Management.

The Netherlands-based International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued arrest warrants for President Putin and Russia’s Commissioner for Children’s Rights, Maria Lvova-Belova, over the deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia — although executing the warrants could be difficult given Russia is not subject to the ICC.

Wyoming GOP Gov. Mark Gordon signed a bill that bans the selling of abortion pills in the Cowboy state.

There are already “trigger bans” on abortion pills in Wyoming and 12 other states including Alabama, Arkansas, South Dakota and Tennessee. Trigger bans were bans on most abortions set to go into effect if and when Roe v. Wade was overturned by the Supreme Court, which it was in June of 2022.

Wyoming is the first state to sign off on a separate piece of legislation outlawing the pills.

The ban is set to take effect in July if legal action does not block it.

S demand: Säpo must investigate Paludan’s “links” to the Kremlin

    Published 2023-03-17

On Thursday, TV4 accused Danish-Swedish politician Rasmus Paludan of having links to the Russian private army Wagnergruppen. Now, TV4 has called in former Defense Minister Peter Hultqvist (S) and the Swedish Psychological Defense Agency to continue suspecting the Islamic critic. The former minister demands that Sweden’s various intelligence agencies investigate Paludan’s “connection” to the Kremlin.

The background is that Kalla fakta has found an account on the Russian social media site VKontakte which they suspect belongs to Paludan and which has “friends” allegedly belonging to the Wagner group.

READ ALSO: Paludan on Wagner accusations: “A propaganda thing from TV4”

Samnytt has spoken to Paludan and he makes no secret of the fact that he previously had an account on VK, but is skeptical of TV4’s claims that it is his account they have found.

    – “It could very well not be my account. They say that the account controls a Stram Kurs page on VK, but I have never controlled any such page on VK.

He also said that he can no longer access the account, which was closed five years ago.

    – But Stram Kurs has never had a page on VK, Paludan told Samnytt.

The weak evidence of Paludan’s “contact” with the Wagner group does not stop state-owned TV4 from continuing to cast suspicion on the politician. In a follow-up segment, Peter Hultqvist (S) is interviewed and demands that the government “get to the bottom” of Paludan’s alleged contacts. Hultqvist therefore wants to see the Swedish Security Service, among others, tasked with investigating the politician.

    “Right-wing extremist environment involved”
    – “If it is the case that we have provocateurs who may have links to foreign powers and also a course of events where a right-wing extremist environment is involved and it has an effect on such an important process as NATO membership, there is every reason to look at this,” says Peter Hultqvist (S) to TV4.

State psyche warrior: “That’s how they work”
TV4 has also called Mikael Tofvesson, former head of unit for “protection against information influence” at MSB and now head of operations at the Swedish Agency for Psychological Defense, to act as an expert and comment on Paludan’s alleged “contacts” with the Kremlin.

According to Tofvesson, the Wagner group is “central to the Russian state apparatus” and engages in influence campaigns, which allegedly enables cooperation.

    – It is not unreasonable to assume that this would be the case, one must ask why they want to be friends with Paludan, why do they seek contact there. It could be to start a relationship or to start building an influence. That’s how they work,” says Mikael Tofvesson to TV4.
