Fears of Recession Grow as UK Economy Shrinks in March

LONDON (AP) — Britain’s economy grew at the slowest pace in a year during the first quarter as retailers and manufacturers were hurt by supply disruptions and higher prices, raising concerns that the country may be headed for a recession.

Gross domestic product, the broadest measure of economic activity, rose 0.8% in the period, slowing from 1.3% in the previous quarter, the Office for National Statistics said Thursday. Monthly estimates indicate GDP shrank by 0.1% in March.

The globalist architects of the Great Reset at the World Economic Forum have thrown their weight behind the concept of Central Bank Digital Currencies, claiming that state-controlled cryptocurrencies will “revolutionize” the future of finance.

Just days before its annual meeting in Davos, in which elites from enterprise and government descend upon the Swiss ski resort town, the World Economic Forum (WEF) has released a list of technologies that it believes will “change the world by 2027”, including such New World Order staples as the Metaverse and so-called green energy.

AP Suggests Elon Musk is a Hypocrite for Supporting Free Speech But Using it to “Attack” His Critics

The Associated Press published a bizarre article suggesting that Elon Musk is a hypocrite for supporting free speech on Twitter yet using the platform to “attack” his critics.

“Elon Musk boasts that he’s acquiring Twitter to defend freedom of speech,” the AP reported. “But he has long used the platform to attack those who disagree with him.”

Apparently, the news agency can’t comprehend the basic notion that Musk exercising his free speech to respond to his critics is also a form of free speech.

Congressman Eric Swalwell Says Apple and Google Should Decide What’s Allowed on People’s Phones

During an appearance at a Tech Antitrust Debate hosted by Axios, Congressman Eric Swalwell, a Democratic representative for California’s 15th Congressional District (CA-15), opposed sideloading and claimed that users prefer mobile app stores being controlled by Big Tech gatekeepers.

Sideloading is a process where users install apps directly on their device instead of going through an app store but Swalwell framed it as forcing device makers and software platforms to “open up their stores to anyone.” Based on this premise, Swalwell suggested that allowing sideloading would cripple mobile security and benefit China.

Driverless Cars Record Everything, Making Them Moving Surveillance Machines

Driverless cars have video cameras that record everything around them. Companies use the cameras and footage to improve the safety and operability of these vehicles.

However, these companies, including General Motors’ Cruise and Alphabet’s Waymo, promote the potential of these vehicles and conceal the fact that the footage these vehicles capture can be accessed by the police.

A memo obtained by Motherboard, through a freedom of information request, reveals that the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) has previously used footage from autonomous vehicles for investigations.

The expansionism of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) and the European Union was cited by Moscow as one of the central motivating factors in the February invasion of Ukraine by the Russian military, however, it appears that the so-called “special military operation” has resulted in more expansionism by the West.

Great Reset: ‘Famine Threatens to Wipe Out 300 Million’

The mainstream media has repeated the simple logic regarding the supposed causal chain of the current disrupted trade and supply flows and global supply shortages: It is the aftermath of the Ukraine war, the inevitable consequences of morally justified sanctions against Russia, and repercussions of the “pandemic”.

But the culprits have been clearly identified. In fact, the crisis is going according to plan.

The fact that war and sanctions are having ever more catastrophic consequences for large parts of the world was the subject of a recent interview published in the German daily Bild in which German Development Minister Svenja Schulze expressed her thoughts. She said there was now a threat of “the worst famine since World War II, with millions of deaths because of “Corona, extreme droughts and now the war that increased food prices worldwide by a third” and were “now at record levels”. The World Food Program is “currently assuming that there are far more than 300 million acutely starving people” and must “constantly revise its forecasts upwards”.

The UK Government Shocks Observers With a Host of New Genuinely Conservative Bills

The government of Boris Johnson has faced an endless list of accusations since its accession to power in 2019, except for one: being too “conservative.” In fact, the Johnson government’s impotence at meeting the expectations of the Brexit movement, its complacency about the Channel migrant crisis, and its endless praise for multiculturalism and diversity, have led some to question its conservative credentials entirely. That is why Tuesday’s list of new policy proposals, announced during the Queen’s Speech, were met with a certain degree of shock.

To the casual observer, the main story of the day was that Queen Elizabeth II could not attend the ceremony in the Houses of Parliament, and her eldest son, Prince Charles, filled her role for the day. He was tasked with presenting the government’s 38 new bills that will determine the government’s policies for the coming parliamentary season. Some among these are well worth noticing, because for the first time since leaving the clutches of the EU, the British government is demonstrating the virtues of political freedom and national sovereignty, for which the majority of British citizens voted for in the Brexit referendum.

Professor John Edmunds was part of the SAGE team that told the government there would be 6,000 Omicron deaths per day in the absence of another lockdown late last year.

In reality, the death toll never got anywhere near that number as the doomsayers were proven spectacularly wrong yet again.

What Do Elon Musk, The Pope and the Hungarian Government Have in Common?

The richest man in the world, Elon Musk, has recently used his heightened media profile to publicize a growing trend in declining birth rates across the Western world and other advanced economies.

The serial entrepreneur has lamented the societal trend in the past, saying “civilization will crumble if we don’t have more kids,” but is raising concerns once again, this time pointing out the dramatic net drop in population seen in Japan. He also addressed the decline in birth rates across Europe, namely the Italian city of Venice, which now has a quarter of its population over the age of 64 and is witnessing death rates outpace birth rates considerably.

He warned that Japan, the third-largest economy in the world, will “cease to exist” if the declining birth-rate trend continues.

Latest News in the Russia-Ukraine War

NATO: Finland said it would apply to join the military alliance without delay, breaking its neutral defense policy in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Ukraine: About 14 million Ukrainians have been forced from their homes and nearly 3,500 civilians have been killed since Russia invaded Ukraine, United Nations officials said.

Russia’s limited gains in Donbas and the Ukrainian goal of reclaiming the entire territory portend a long battle in eastern Ukraine. Kyiv offered to exchange Russian prisoners of war for injured fighters trapped in Mariupol’s besieged Azovstal steel plant. Moscow hasn’t responded to the offer.

Evacuees, injured civilians and wounded soldiers are piling into the city of Zaporizhzhia seeking safety and treatment.

The blockade of Ukraine’s seaports could result in global food shortages, the head of the U.N. World Food Program said.

European Union: European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said Russia was “the most direct threat to the world order.” She also criticized China, which has resisted Western pressure to distance itself from Moscow or condemn its invasion of Ukraine.

North Korea Announces First Death From COVID-19

North Korea has confirmed its first death from Covid-19, with state media adding that tens of thousands more are experiencing fever symptoms.

Six people died after suffering a fever with one testing positive for Omicron, state media reported on Friday.

It said 187,000 people with a fever were being “isolated and treated”.

While experts believe the virus has been present in the country for some time, the authorities only announced the first cases on Thursday.

They said there had been an outbreak of the Omicron variant in the capital, Pyongyang, and announced lockdown measures. They did not give precise case numbers.

But in an update on Friday, the official KCNA news agency reported that the outbreak extended beyond the capital. “A fever whose cause couldn’t be identified spread explosively nationwide from late April,” it said.

Around 350,000 people had shown signs of that fever, it added, without specifying how many had tested positive for Covid…

Czechia: ‘The Situation May Lead to a Ghetto’ — Refugee Crisis in Prague Has City’s Mayor Warning of ‘Fatal’ Consequences

Prague has a big problem with the influx of refugees from Ukraine, and the city’s mayor, Zdenek Hrib, is warning that “the situation may lead to a ghetto,” with the capital in danger of collapsing due to low capacity.

According to the mayor, the individual regions in the country are unevenly burdened, with Prague arguably the hardest hit. The government must develop a functional system for effectively distributing refugees from Ukraine.

The dire situation has intensified in the last several days now, mainly at Prague’s railway station, where hundreds of mostly Roma refugees are sleeping. It is not evident whether these people came from Ukraine because they have both Ukrainian and Hungarian citizenship. The police are, therefore, ordered to check more strictly from next week whether the arrivals have a stamp from the Ukrainian border on their passports.

Hungary-Style Child Protection Law Very Much Needed in Spain, Says Leader of Spanish Lawyers’ Organization

Why is a Christian lawyers’ organization actually needed in Spain?

The Spanish Christian Lawyers’ Foundation Abogados Cristianos was created in 2008 as an association in the face of an escalation of attacks against crosses and religious freedom, as well as in the face of how abortion was being increasingly promoted. We thought things were going wrong. And now, in 2022, our organization is even more necessary as things are much, much worse.

In Spain, efforts are being made to extend abortion without limit, euthanasia has been made legal, every year there are more attacks on crosses, there are attacks against priests and members of religious orders, and now children are being targeted in an attempt at imposing a pernicious ideology on them and indoctrinate them.

Rights Groups Call on Zoom to Stop Surveilling People’s Emotions

Governments and companies are exhibiting a growing trend of wanting to, simply put, ultimately own people using their products — whether it’s their biometric data collected via ever more advanced facial recognition and other mass surveillance tools, or personal data exposed and harvested on social networks, apps, and elsewhere on the internet.

All that doesn’t seem to be not enough, though: now the push is to try to “read users’ minds” — starting with figuring out the state of their emotions. There’s “invasive” — and then there’s “invasive” — and one of those reportedly planning to implement a high level of invasiveness is Zoom, the pandemic’s videoconferencing success story.

Reacting to all this is a group of more than two dozen organizations located around the world, who have now addressed founder and CEO of Zoom Eric Yuan in a letter to express their concern over the plans to introduce “emotion tracking software.”

  1. In Russia, in the Far North, peoples like your Eskimos live. Lots of different tribes.

Central Asian migrants also reached these places. From the social network VKontakte:

“Today such a case happened. A taxi driver, a migrant from Central Asia, refused to take local people in national clothes. Did they come to earn money or to exhibit their nationalist Wishlist?”

    – This is not the first time!

    – I once encountered this in Salekhard, like, they say the car will be in wool, seats, etc. I think then let them taxi in their homeland
