A Repeat of the Battle Athens, TN?
Edmund Burke said “Those who don’t know history are destined to repeat it.” As I read the reports of questionable vote counting practices, if not actual fraud, I am eerily reminded of a part of our past I’m sure most Americans would not like to repeat.
In the small town of Athens, the seat of McMinn county in eastern Tennessee, an election was held in 1946. With a history of investigations into election fraud that were never resolved and multiple claims of vote tampering on both sides, the news could just as easily be describing the Presidential election of 2020.
Many veterans had returned from the battlefields of World War II to find that their county was being run by a corrupt political machine. After fighting for the rights of their fellow citizens abroad, they decided to fight for them again at home. Several of these veterans ran for political office in direct opposition to the county’s political machine. To say the least, the campaigns were contentious. Accusations of stuffing ballot boxes, bringing in people from other counties for assistance, and even calls to the federal government were part of the lead up to election day.
Trouble began early on election day, 1946, with the largest voter turnout in local history. Legally appointed poll watchers were arrested for protesting voting irregularities and people were denied the opportunity to vote while illegal votes were allowed to be cast. Voting was even suspended in some precincts after poll watchers challenged illegal voting processes.
Trouble also began early on election day 2020. Even before election day, disputes over voting procedures, primary elections that were delayed due to problems counting votes, and even reports of ballots being disposed of or hoarded, all pointed to a challenging election day.
When the polls closed in 1946, county officials hid away in the jail in order to count ballots without any prying eyes. In certain counties in 2020, counters worked behind closed doors, had poll watchers removed, or prevented them from entering to observe the process. In one instance caught on video, the windows of the counting room were covered over to prevent the observation of the count. In Pennsylvania, several counties mixed late mail-in ballots with legitimate ones, in violation of a supreme court order, thus spoiling the entire election in that county.
In both 1946 and 2020, the election had turned into a powder keg just waiting for a match to set it off.

Authorities: Patterson PD Raid COVID-Violating Hookah Lounge for 3rd Time in Two Months
BASH CRASH: More than 100 patrons were partying at a Paterson hookah lounge well past midnight Friday when they were joined by a group of uninvited guests.
City police had raided Fadi Abuawad’s Besan Café and reported several COVID restriction violations twice two months ago after finding 160 people there one night and more than 300 another, authorities said.
This time, police followed the sound of loud DJ music at the East Railway Avenue building shortly after 12:30 a.m. Saturday, Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale said.
In back, they found more than 100 people gathered at tables inside a closed addition, Speziale said, adding that several were drinking and smoking hookah, filling the enclosure with smoke.

Hunter Biden Subpoenaed Over Burisma, Two Dozen Other Entities as Part of Four Investigations
Hunter Biden has been subpoenaed by federal investigators over his involvement with at least two dozen entities — including Ukrainian gas company Burisma, according to the Associated Press, citing a ‘person familiar with a Justice Department tax investigation.”
News of the subpoena follows a joint announcement from Hunter and his father Joe Biden’s campaign last week which acknowledged that he was under investigation for tax fraud, with the Washington Post noting that Hunter had yet to be interviewed by the FBI or served with subpoenas.
The subpoena, issued Tuesday, covers a wide swath of Hunter’s taxes and international business dealings — in what could be a serious case against the Biden family (or a serious attempt to put a DOJ ‘bow’ on the ‘matter’). AP notes that it’s unclear if Burisma is a central part of the investigation — despite Joe Biden admitting on tape that he had Ukraine’s chief prosecutor fired during the same period as said investigator, Viktor Shokin, was investigating Burisma’s founder for corruption.

Scott Adams Hit With YouTube Censorship
YouTube has decided to delete a video uploaded on the platform by the Dilbert comic strip creator Scott Adams. This was episode 1213 on Scott’s YouTube channel, entitled, “Biden COVID Plan, Swalwell’s Chinese Spy, Pelosi Still a Steaming Pile.”
As Adams announced to his 600k+ followers on Twitter, he had been “shut down” by Google, the owner of the video giant, and that given that the video they went after was similar to his other content, he expected the rest to also be removed soon.

The term TEXIT has gone viral on social media as multiple Republican lawmakers float the idea of secession if the federal government continues to disenfranchise Texans by allowing other states to flaunt election law with zero repercussions.
A lawsuit filed by Texas and backed by dozens of other states that sought to hold Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, and Wisconsin accountable for allegedly illegally altering election laws was thrown out by the U.S. Supreme Court on Friday, leaving many citizens frustrated with both U.S. political parties.
Texas GOP chair Allen West said the Supreme Court ruling effectively decreed that states will face no repercussions for violating the Constitution, and suggested that the only solution may be secession in order to form a union of states that will actually abide by the Constitution.

The Revolving Door Between the Democratic Party and Facebook Policy Jobs

Kew Gardens Ambassador: ‘UK Gardening Culture Has Racism Baked Into Its DNA’
James Wong, a mainstream media columnist and ambassador for the iconic Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, has alleged that “UK gardening culture has racism baked into its DNA” in a bizarre rant on social media.

UK: Millions of People Are Expected to Attend Illegal Raves Over New Year
The UK’s Night Time Industries Association (NTIA) has warned that it expects more than 5,000 illegal parties to take place across New Year weekend, despite ongoing COVID-19 restrictions. According to new research from the association, that means we could see “millions of people converging across the UK” between December 31 and January 3.
The NTIA has previously called for the UK government to relax the 11pm curfew on businesses such as pubs and restaurants, to allow people to celebrate New Year and discourage them from staging their own house parties or outdoor gatherings. “What they are going to learn very quickly is that people are not going to allow the government to curtail their New Year’s Eve celebrations,” NTIA CEO Michael Kill told HuffPost UK earlier this month. “They will take it in their own hands and they will do what they need to do to have those celebrations.”

UK: Sadiq Khan Planning £3.50 Charge to Enter Crime-Ridden London
London mayor Sadiq Khan is exploring a £3.50 “entry charge” on people driving into the crime-plagued British capital, a move which could hammer tradesmen, key workers, and others as the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic and associated lockdowns is already biting.

Iran Executes Journalist Who Encouraged 2017 Protests
Iran executed an journalist Ruhollah Zam, 47, over his encouragement of nationwide economic protests in 2017.
Iranian state media called Zam “the leader of the riots.” An Iranian court sentenced Zam to death in June for “corruption on Earth.”

Police Arrest Three People After 21 Migrants Found in Spanish Sweat Shop

Sheriff’s Officers Pepper-Sprayed, Pelted With Rocks at ICE Protest Outside Bergen Jail
Escalating tensions erupted Saturday night when a few protestors pepper-sprayed and threw rocks at sheriff’s officers outside the Bergen County Jail, witnesses said.
EMS units were summoned to treat at two injured sheriff’s officers, a ranking officer with direct knowledge of the incident said.

Brave Has to Remove Key Tipping Feature on iOS to Comply With Apple’s Demands
The developer of Brave Browser, a chromium-based browser that automatically blocks ads and trackers, had to update the iOS version to remove key features in order to comply with Apple’s strict App Store regulations. Apple has come under fire in recent times from developers for antitrust practices and for stifling future technology advancement of rivals.
On Thursday, Brave released a new version of the browser for iOS devices — iPhones and iPads. In the new version, the app no longer rewards users for using the browser and opting to view ads. Also, it is no longer possible for users to tip creators, a key feature of Brave.
Following the release of the iOS 14, Apple notified Brave that the Brave Rewards System violated guidelines 3.1.1 and 3.2.2 of the App Store.

A major leak containing a register with the details of nearly two million CCP members has occurred – exposing members who are now working all over the world, while also lifting the lid on how the party operates under Xi Jinping, says Sharri Markson.
Ms Markson said the leak is a register with the details of Communist Party members, including their names, party position, birthday, national ID number and ethnicity.
“It is believed to be the first leak of its kind in the world,” the Sky News host said.
“What’s amazing about this database is not just that it exposes people who are members of the communist party, and who are now living and working all over the world, from Australia to the US to the UK,” Ms Markson said.
“But it’s amazing because it lifts the lid on how the party operates under President and Chairman Xi Jinping”.
Ms Markson said the leak demonstrates party branches are embedded in some of the world’s biggest companies and even inside government agencies.
“Communist party branches have been set up inside western companies, allowing the infiltration of those companies by CCP members – who, if called on, are answerable directly to the communist party, to the Chairman, the president himself,” she said.
“Along with the personal identifying details of 1.95 million communist party members, mostly from Shanghai, there are also the details of 79,000 communist party branches, many of them inside companies”.

The names of 793 New Zealanders have been found in data leaked from Zhenhua Data to an American academic. ……

A specialist in political interference from China, Brady said the Chinese Communist Party was trying to cultivate relationships with economic and political leaders worldwide.
The leaked data included lists of New Zealanders identified by the Chinese company as “politically exposed” and of “special interest”. ……
“But we can see the pattern here very clearly: many of the individuals on the list… are very clearly some of the most influential people in New Zealand.
“There’s our senior court judges, there’s our former ambassadors and present ambassador to China, there’s China desk people… What’s really heartbreaking is to see our most senior politicians family members there.” ….
….. The Chinese intelligence gathering on New Zealanders and people from other countries was followed by plans of action, which was “very concerning”, Brady said.
“It’s happening on a grand scale – there are about 2.4 million names.”
“This is evidence, if any was needed, of the global reach of China’s efforts to use political interference as a tool of foreign policy.”
The leaked data showed in-depth knowledge of New Zealand politics, she said.
“There are names in there, you would have to have extremely intimate knowledge of New Zealand politics and who’s who and their family members and that’s not easily found.”
The data could be used for blackmail or developing strategic relationships, Brady said.
“[Family members] can be targeted, offered business opportunities.
This is very much the pattern overseas, or other opportunities, or they get into trouble – blackmail, you name it.”
She said the government needed to overhaul its China strategy, which was set in 2012, and provide better guidance for the public on dealing with China.
“We need to inform the public, we need to inoculate them, so they can do the right thing when they’re engaging with China – particularly I’m thinking about our universities and our local government officials and there has been an inquiry into the New Zealand Parliament about some concerns there. ….
