Canoes Carry Migrants to the Canaries

The following Spanish news video reports on the continuing flow of record numbers of African “refugees” into the Canary Islands.

00:02   Arrivals of launches in the Canary Islands were very numerous this Saturday.
00:06   1,100 immigrants arrived in the Islands, one of them dead.
00:11   It’s the highest number in a single day since the crisis of the canoes in 2006 and 2007.
00:17   More than 600 immigrants made their way in 16 boats
00:22   to Gran Canaria, almost 300 to Tenerife, 150 to El Hierro,
00:27   and 23 to La Gomera. Several launches were sighted
00:31   by maritime rescue since the early morning south of Gran Canaria.
00:34   The immigrants were transferred to the dock at Arguineguin
00:38   and treated by emergency services.
00:42   More boats were rescued during the day in waters near Gran Canaria
00:46   and Tenerife. New groups of immigrants were
00:50   treated and transferred to the port. Another group
00:54   arrived at El Hierro and one canoe at La Gomera.
