Amazon Downplays Latest Relocation Rumors, But Experts Say COVID Makes Seattle Even Less Attractive

Amazon is downplaying the latest report that it plans to shift Seattle employees to the suburbs, but business leaders and economic experts warn that, with the pandemic, expensive cities like Seattle face an increasing risk of a corporate exodus.

On Thursday, Bloomberg reported that Amazon had offered its Seattle-based employees the choice of working in five outlying communities: Bothell/Woodinville, Renton, Tacoma, Redmond, or Issaquah.

The report, which cited an internal Amazon message that was briefly posted on Reddit, suggested that “the Covid-19 outbreak and a new local employers tax have pushed the e-commerce giant to consider alternatives to its hometown.”

On Friday, Amazon tamped down the idea.

Antifa Rioters Storm Through Seattle in Night of Mayhem While Police Do Nothing

Roving gangs of Antifa rioters spent Friday evening rampaging through the streets of Seattle — with police often nowhere to be found, video and eyewitness accounts show.

Video shared by journalist Andy Ngo shows mobs of individuals clad in black destroying property, smashing windows and spray painting anything in sight, all with impunity.

“Marauding Antifa black bloc in Seattle smash up property as they march around the city. People watch in disbelief. No police,” Ngo reported while sharing video.

Chaos Erupts in Portland on the 79th Night of Violence After Police Declare an Unlawful Assembly and Clash With BLM Protesters —setting Off Smoke Bombs

Chaos erupted in Portland for a 79th consecutive night on Friday after police declared an unlawful assembly during a peaceful demonstration and stormed a protester shield line, beating people with batons.

About 300 protesters had gathered in the city’s Peninsula Park around 9pm for a peaceful march across North Portland that was expected to end at the Police Association building on N Lombard Street.

But even before demonstrators could begin heading toward their destination, cops — changing tactics from the previous nights — cut off access to the streets leading to the police union headquarters.

Chicago Shuts Down Its Business District Overnight This Weekend Due to Continued Riots and Looting

Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot desperately wants the world to believe that she has the situation in her city under control and that she doesn’t need help from the federal government — nor would she ever need it from President Trump.

But while she puts that facade on during interviews and press conferences with national media, the reality of constant looting, rioting and crime in Chicago continues to unfold; as do its consequences.

For example, this weekend, the city will shut down its Central Business District overnight, effective at 9PM each night. The decision comes “in the wake of looting and unrest downtown, on the Magnificent Mile, and in Streeterville, River North, and the area near North and Sheffield avenues,” according to CBS Chicago.

Democrat-Controlled Chicago Spent $66 Million on a Coronavirus Facility That Treated 38 Patients—total

Chicago taxpayers spent $66 million renovating a convention center into an emergency coronavirus hospital that ended up only treating 38 patients. Further, the contract to renovate the facility went to a politically connected company instead of one that said it would waive fees or donate such money to coronavirus relief organizations.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported Friday that top aides to Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot defended the decision to spend $1.7 million per patient on the renovations, calling it an “insurance policy” for the unfounded fear that Chicago’s hospitals would be overwhelmed with coronavirus patients. Samir Mayekar, deputy mayor for economic and neighborhood development, told the outlet that he was “incredibly proud of” the converted facility, adding that the millions of dollars in taxpayer money was “not spent in vain.”

Protest Blocks Streets, Officers Assaulted, Pelted With Rocks, Glass Bottles, Other Objects (Photo)

In the evening hours of August 14, 2020, a group of a couple hundred people gathered in Peninsula Park at 700 North Rosa Parks Way. Around 9:20 p.m., the group left the park and began marching westbound on North Ainsworth Street. As the group marched, several support vehicles followed, blocking vehicular traffic. The lead marchers held heavy wooden shields. Many in the crowd were wearing helmets, gas masks, and other protective gear.

Around 9:30 p.m., the group marching had blocked all traffic on North Ainsworth Street. As the group approached North Maryland Avenue, public address announcements were made instructing the group to exit the street, or they would be subject to arrest or use of force. Despite the announcements, the group continued to stay in the street, but move southbound towards North Killingsworth Street. Around 10 p.m., the group reached the area of North Killingsworth Street and North Albina Avenue. Once again, public address announcements were made instructing the group to exit the street.

The acronym, which stands for “All cops are bastards,” is favored by some Antifa and Black Lives Matters protesters and has recently appeared at anti-police brutality demonstrations across the country — from Lower Manhattan to Portland, Oregon.

Will it take an out of nowhere revolution with armed to the teeth indigenous demanding papers and lock-up pending. Times have changed. Lots of unemployed pissed off patriots fuming. If this situation is not turned around fast then no surprise at anything that follows. How do fat fools like BJ and PP last do long?
