Gates of Vienna News Feed 6/12/2019

According to the latest polls, if a Remain-supporting Tory becomes prime minister in the UK, the Brexit Party could win as many as 252 seats in the House of Commons, which is about 39%. Boris Johnson is the only “Conservative” who promises to actually deliver Brexit.

In other news, the UN High Commission for Refugees pleaded with Italy not to implement its new policy of fining refugee boats that enter Italian ports. Interior Minister Matteo Salvini said that the government was ready to apply punitive measures against the refugee-rescue NGO Sea Watch.

After appearing on his show more than 30 times, David Letterman now says that Trump is a “psychotic soulless bastard”.

“I think he just liked being on TV. I had no sense that he was the soulless bastard that he’s turned into,” Letterman told The Hollywood Reporter.

“He used to be kind of like the boob of New York that pretended to be wealthy, or we thought was wealthy, and now he’s just a psychotic,” he added, asking “what went wrong?”

Black Student Activists Demand Columbia Fire Law Lecturer Who Prosecuted ‘Central Park Five’

It looks like Harvard University isn’t the only Ivy League school where student activists believe that working in the criminal justice system is grounds for exclusion from campus life.

Less than a month after Harvard removed Ronald Sullivan as faculty dean of Winthrop House — for representing disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein in his criminal trial — Columbia University’s black student activists are trying to remove another law faculty member for prosecuting defendants.

A Change.org petition by the Black Students’ Organization has more than 8,000 signatures. It was prompted by the new Netflix documentary When They See Us, which tells the story of four black and one Hispanic teenagers who were prosecuted for the rape and attempted murder of a white woman in New York City in 1989.

Church Hosts Summer Camp to Train Grade School Kids to be Antifa Activists

I’m so old I can remember when disseminating communist propaganda in public schools was frowned upon.

Last Friday afternoon, I was sitting at my computer when I received an email from Peachjar. This is a service used by several school districts near me in the Portland area that sends home digital fliers to parents in lieu of paper fliers to advertise extracurricular activities sponsored by various groups in the community. My son’s middle school uses this service, and I receive a few emails a month from them. I’ve used the service myself to send advertisements for recruiting events for Scouts, and I’ve received other fliers such as music lessons, sports teams, and the like.

This one, however, was quite different.

Federal Agency Says Miami Street Should Have Closed Before FIU Bridge Collapse

MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) — Stunning new details have emerged in the case of a deadly bridge collapse in Miami.

Engineers had knowledge of extensive cracking and failed to order a street closed and shore up a pedestrian bridge before it collapsed and killed six people at a Miami university last year, according to findings revealed by a federal workplace safety agency.

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration concluded in a report released Tuesday that the size of the cracks warranted the street be shut down immediately.

Investigators say the bridge cracked because of “deficient structural design,” and blame independent inspectors for not instructing that Florida International University and the bridge contractor to stop traffic.

Included in the findings are emails and texts from construction workers alerting supervisors of cracks days before the bridge collapsed on March 15, 2018…

Google Protecting Jussie Smollett From ‘Disparaging’ Searches

News that Chicago police charged Jussie Smollett with staging a brutal attack on himself was covered on every network and in every major newspaper, but Google is hiding searches of it from its platform due to concerns of “potentially disparaging” the liberal actor.

A review of Google’s autocomplete function on searches of Smollett found no references to anything regarding the hate crime, even though the company’s own data show it is the only reason his name was ever searched.

The top suggested searches for Smollett included Empire (a show he no longer has a role in), Mighty Ducks (a nearly three-decade old movie he had a small role in as a child), and his wife (who doesn’t exist), the Free Beacon found.

Even with a nudge—adding the letter “H” to indicate an interest in the Smollett “hate crime” or “hoax”—the top suggestions were inquiries into his height and ties to Hawaii.

Look Who ‘Coordinated’ With Each Other on Dossier

But Washington watchdog Judicial Watch, along with the Daily Caller News Foundation, on Wednesday revealed more documents that show members of Obama’ s State Department were “coordinating” with Democrats in Congress and others on the dossier, created by British ex-spy Christopher Steele.

The pages of documentation to which they obtained access through a Freedom of Information Act case showed former Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland and Special Coordinator for Libya Jonathan Winer worked with then-House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer’s, D-Md., national security advisor, Daniel Silverberg on Russia dossier.

“Steele is a former British spy and author of the anti-Trump dossier used to justify a series of FISA spy warrants targeting Carter Page. Winer is a former Obama State Department deputy assistant secretary who was implicated in working with Steele and Clinton associate Sidney Blumenthal to circulate the anti-Trump dossier,” the report said.

The players include Fusion GPS, which employed Steele with funds from Clinton’s campaign, and others.

Trump is More Popular Amongst Blacks & Hispanics Than He Was in 2016

Despite three years of the media incessantly asserting that Donald Trump is a racist, his popularity amongst blacks and Hispanics has increased since 2016.

Exit polling data from 2016 showed Hillary Clinton earning 88 per cent of the black vote compared to Trump’s 8 per cent. This figure was still higher than Mitt Romney’s 6 per cent in 2012.

However, a new poll by Quinnipiac which maps out a hypothetical match up between Joe Biden and Trump shows Trump now has 12 per cent support from African-Americans.

Similarly, Trump’s poll numbers amongst Hispanics have improved.

Virginia Democrats Just Voted for a Man Previously Jailed for Sex With a Minor

A former member of the Virginia House of Delegates won the Democrat primary for the state senate Tuesday night, even though he was jailed four years ago for having sex with a minor whom he later married.

Joe Morrissey defeated incumbent state Sen. Rosalyn Dance by 14 points Tuesday night. Morrissey, now 61, was in his 50’s when he was accused of having sex with his 17-year-old secretary, to whom he is now married. He claimed he did nothing wrong, but pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor in 2015 while admitting there was enough evidence to convict him. (This often happens to innocent and guilty defendants alike, they plead to a lesser crime to avoid worse consequences in front of a jury for a larger crime.) The girl and her mother also denied anything untoward was happening between the two, though he was initially indicted on charges of possessing and distributing child pornography (he had, according to prosecutors, a nude photograph of the girl and had sent it to a friend) and the electronic solicitation of a minor.

Watch: Chicago Tower’s Skydeck Ledge Cracks Under Visitors’ Feet

For a brief moment, a few singularly unlucky tourists got to experience one of the most unique experiences the Windy City has to offer: Coming to know the sheer terror of fearing you’re about to plunge more than 100 stories to your death.

According to CBS News Chicago, the protective layer of glass on the Willis Tower’s Skydeck cracked into thousands of shards on Monday, terrifying a group of tourists — although nobody was ever really in danger. Something similar happened back in May 2014; again, nobody was hurt, or ever really in danger.

A spokesperson for the Willis Tower said the protective layer did what it was supposed to do, though he didn’t explain exactly what they believe caused the glass to shatter. The spokesperson compared the glass to “a screen protector” on a smartphone and that it’s intended to prevent scratches on the Willis Tower observation deck glass, and said it had been replaced late Monday.

Boris Johnson, Man Tipped to be Britain’s Next Leader Tells Would-be Voters He Doesn’t Want Hard Brexit

Boris Johnson launched his leadership campaign Wednesday by promising to deliver Brexit as a prelude to healing “divisions” in the country, but made clear he was absolutely opposed to taking Britain fully out of the European Union in a no-strings-attached “hard” withdrawal.

Talking to an audience of Conservative members of parliament and journalists in central London Wednesday morning, Mr Johnson said he was both strongly against a full Brexit, but simultaneously wished the government to prepare for the eventuality so he could use it as a bargaining chip in Brussels in a mooted renegotiation.

Danger of War With Iran Averted, For Now

by Srdja Trifkovic

To Mike Pompeo’s and John Bolton’s great regret, the conspiracy to push the U.S. into yet another war in the Middle East—likely more catastrophic in cost and consequences than all previous ones taken together—has been averted, for now at least.

For several months until the end of May, tensions between the United Stated and Iran appeared to be careening toward armed conflict. Contrary to candidate Trump’s 2016 assurances, America seemed to be on the verge of another war of choice in the Middle East, potentially far more costly and devastating than the disaster in Iraq.

The current crisis started just over a year ago, when the Trump administration discarded the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), an agreement to degrade Iran’s nuclear program, signed in 2015. The other signatories—China, France, Germany, Russia and Britain—all agreed that there was no cause for such move, but the Administration was relentless. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo presented twelve American demands which Iran would need to accept in order to avoid “the hardest sanctions in history” and the implied threat of war. It was a remarkable list, echoing the Austro-Hungarian ultimatum to Serbia in July 1914 which was carefully crafted to be rejected. As I pointed out in Chronicles (July 2018), Pompeo’s demands, delivered in the form of an edict, were impossible for a sovereign government to accept…

EU Commission, Germany: New Prime Minister Cannot Change Brexit Deal

President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker has ruled out time-limiting the Irish backstop as a number of European leaders are telling prospective Tory Party leadership hopefuls that a new prime minister will not be able to change the withdrawal treaty.

“There will be no renegotiation as far as the content of the Withdrawal Agreement is concerned,” Mr Juncker said on Tuesday in comments reported by The Sun, adding that the most the next prime minister could hope for would be “some clarifications, precisions, additions to the Political Declaration relating to our future relations”.

Italy at a Crossroads: To Leave or to Stay in the EU

by Matt Snape

Salvini’s game of irritating Brussels continues as Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister has recently proposed a dual currency for his nation. However, the EU is equally concerned about Salvini’s plan to launch a “fiscal shock” to Italy’s economy by proposing a flat tax of 15 percent. “We need a Trump cure, an Orban cure, a positive fiscal shock to restart the country,” he told one radio station.

The Daily Telegraph’s Ambrose Evans-Pritchard referred to him as the “master of Rome,” after he justified his plans for a dual currency by declaring “I don’t govern a country on its knees.” The Telegraph columnist is right — he may be Deputy Prime Minister, but Salvini is calling the shots.

Members of the Group of Fiscal Money produced an article for Politico which argued that an Italian dual currency is possible. They state that it could be used to avoid the uncertainties of exiting the euro, while allowing Italy to recover economically without breaking any EU rules. Boldly arguing that the downside of this proposal is “nearly nil,” the Group of Fiscal Money suggests this idea will enable the Government to issue transferrable “Fiscal Money” bonds, which bearers can use for tax rebates over two years. They could be exchanged against euros in the financial market or used in parallel to the euro to acquire goods and services…

UK: Brexit Victory: Commons Says No Deal Will be on Table — Now Let’s Find PM Who Can Deliver

JEREMY Corbyn has failed to block a no-deal EU exit after the Government won a significant Commons vote which opens the door for a future Brexiteer Prime Minister.

In a victory that will provide a major boost to Boris Johnson and other Tory candidates determined to take the UK out of the European Union by October 31, a motion seeking to seize control of the Parliamentary agenda was defeated by 309 votes to 298.

The Labour motion had been backed by Tory Remainer Sir Oliver Letwin, who was previously behind a similar backbench bill forced through the Commons earlier this year.

He was joined by nine other Tories rebels who backed the motion while eight Labour MPs voted against Mr Corbyn’s wishes meaning the Government avoided another bruising defeat which would have constrained the next prime minister before they had even taken office.

Italy: New Security Instruments Ready for Sea Watch — Salvini

Minister says NGO is operating a ‘pirate ship’

(ANSA) — Rome, June 12 — Deputy Premier and Interior Minister Matteo Salvini said Wednesday that the measures in his new security decree were ready to be applied to a ship run by the Sea-Watch NGO after it rescued 52 people from a rubber dinghy off the Libyan coast. The League leader said the “new instruments of the second security decree (are ready) to stop access to our territorial waters”. He described the German NGO’s vessel as “a pirate ship that allows some to repeatedly break the law”.

Sea-Watch has on several occasions sought to challenge Salvini’s policy of closing Italy’s ports to NGO-run search-and-rescue ships. The government’s new decree would see organizations that bring migrants rescued at sea to Italy without permission fined up to 50,000 euros. The Sea-Watch 3 ship was only released from impoundment days ago following its seizure after it brought a group of rescued migrants to Italy last month.

Judicial Watch: Terrorists’ Route Through Mexico Confirmed

Government watchdog Judicial Watch has reported several times over recent years the existence of a route through Mexico and across the U.S. southern border for ISIS terrorists, as well as on an ISIS training cell in Mexico just a few miles from El Paso, Texas.

Those reports now have been confirmed by no less than a captured ISIS fighter, according to the organization’s newest documentation.

WND has cited the Judicial Watch reports over the years and in fact documented only a few months ago reports of prayer rugs being found.

Those rugs, typical of those used in Islamic worship, were found by ranchers and farmers near the U.S.-Mexico border and suggest Middle Easterners are penetrating the southern frontier.

The Washington Examiner, reporting from a New Mexico border town, spoke to a rancher who asked to remain anonymous for fear of retaliation by cartels.

“There’s a lot of people coming in not just from Mexico,” the rancher said. “People, the general public, just don’t get the terrorist threats of that.

“That’s what’s really scary. You don’t know what’s coming across. We’ve found prayer rugs out here. It’s unreal. It’s not just Mexican nationals that are coming across.”

Now Judicial Watch is reporting a captured ISIS fighter is giving details of a plot in which “jihadists enter the country through the southern border to carry out an attack.”

African Cardinal: Hitler, Stalin Would ‘Rejoice’ Over Abortion

The redoubtable archbishop of Durban, South Africa, likened the abortion lobby to history’s worst villains in reaction to a pro-abortion spread in the Guardian newspaper.

In a tweet Wednesday, Cardinal Wilfrid Fox Napier responded to a Nigerian pro-life activist who said that with its caption, “Make Abortion Great Again,” the Guardian had adopted the spirit of genocidal movements.

“How the spirit of the likes of Hitler, Stalin must be rejoicing at this total abandoning of traditional, human ethical standards & Christian morality!” Cardinal Napier said in reply.

Lesbians Stab Innocent Nine-Year-Old Son to Death After Trying to Make Him “Transgender” By Cutting Off His Genitals

LGBT horror revealed during Pride Month

Just in time for Pride Month, a pair of lesbians from Brazil celebrated their “true selves” by murdering their nine-year-old son, whom one year prior they tried to make “transgender” by forcibly cutting off the now-deceased boy’s private parts and carving a makeshift vagina in its place.

The horrific event took place less than one month after Natural News editor Mike Adams publicly predicted this new wave of “LGBT progressivism horrors,” precisely describing that “progressive” parents would begin physically maiming their own babies to slice of their gender organs. That prediction, detailed in this article on Natural News, is now known to have resulted in Natural News being completely deleted and de-platformed by Facebook after left-wing media outlets published hit pieces that focused on the predictions. Once again, Adams turns out to have been completely accurate in seeing exactly where LGBT insanity was headed.

According to reports, 27-year-old Rosana da Silva Candido, the boy’s biological mother, and 28-year-old Kacyla Damasceno Pessao, her lesbian partner, stabbed nine-year-old Rhuan Maycon to death on May 31 after a year of evading police and Child Protective Services.

The father of young Rhuan had desperately been trying to save his son from the clutches of the boy’s deranged LGBTQP mother and her partner, who reportedly moved “across states and around the country” to avoid being caught.

Philly Archbishop: Abortion the New ‘Sacrament’ of Democrat Party

The intrepid archbishop of Philadelphia has denounced Joe Biden’s support for taxpayer-funded abortion, likening his abandonment of Catholic belief to a “silent apostasy.”

“The unborn child means exactly zero in the calculus of power for Democratic Party leaders, and the right to an abortion, once described as a tragic necessity, is now a perverse kind of ‘sacrament most holy,’“ Archbishop Charles Chaput wrote in his weekly column Monday.

Twitter Suspends Project Veritas for Revealing Pinterest Blocked Pro Life Website as Porn

Yesterday, James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas revealed that Pinterest had deactivated the account of the major pro-life group, Live Action, and blocked the ability to save items from their site to Pinterest. Pinterest blocked Live Action by declaring it to be a porn site and in their notification about account deactivation claimed that Live Action provided misleading medical information (this is demonstrably a lie as the medical information on the site is written/reviewed by actual doctors) and for pushing anti-vax messages (Live Action is against the harvesting of fetal tissue of use in vaccine development, a position the US government is in agreement with). O’Keefe received his info from a Pinterest insider.

Socialism: Based Entirely on False Promises

Begun after Lenin’s Bolshevik Revolution in 1917, the Soviet Union existed from 1922 to 1991. With its motto “Workers of the World, Unite!” the Soviet tactic was to train agitators, community organizers, labor organizers, and agent provocateurs-provoking agents. These would organize people with grievances and stir up riots to subvert and “tear down” the existing government. When social chaos caused major domestic disruptions, the public would then willingly accept a new order.

Unfortunately, rather than a wonderful utopian society of equality, the efforts of these naive “useful idiots” simply paved the way for martial law and a military communist dictatorship.

  1. “Boris Johnson is the only “Conservative” who promises to actually deliver Brexit.”

    He’s lying.

    Don’t trust any of them.
